BW 3.1 to BI 7 Upgrade Non Regression Tests

Dear All,
I am planning a BW 3.1 upgrade to BI 7.
I need to focus on Non-regression tests. In others words, I would like to know what kind of non-regression tests I will have to do to confirm the UAT.
I am not talking here about post-upgrade activities (technical stuff). I am more focused on the current modelisation that has been upgraded (still in 3.x thought).
So far, I identified the following:
__Full Load tests__
By loading a specific month data scope - before and after upgrade - I can confirm the data load processes through the cubes and ODS.
Delta Load tests
I do not know how can I do this (how can I ensure that my R/3 will not change ...)
Queries
I can select some of them to ensure they are still working ...?
What can we have more in the non regression tests?

we'll go for regression to verify the bugs and its impact on the other functionality of the application.
Example : If release of the project is expected soon we don't get asmuch time to test the whole application again. At that time thedecision may be taken by tester with lead that dont go for regressioni.e. Non Regression Testing.
In such a case only we have to retest the changing functionality/module/build

Updating Solution Manager - Charm Non-regression Tests

Dear Gurus,
we plan to update Solution Manager from SP18 to SP25.
One of our concerns is related to Charm. Actually, due to code changes in the Charm workflow, we'd like to ensure there won't be any regression. what would you suggest?
1) Adding additional mandants to the sandbox system (one for every system in the transport route)
2) Creating virtual systems in TMS

I will try to clarify the issue.
As regression test, we would like to simulate a Charm workflow within the sandbox environment. The original Workflow is based on validation steps accross DEV - INT - QUA - PPD - PRD.
Question is : can I define virtual systems in TDM/CHARM like I would do to bypass a system during transports in order to simulate our complete landscape?

Regression Testing for BW 7.01 - Impact of EHP 1 upgrade for CRM 7.0

The CRM team has rolled out enhancement pack 1 for CRM 7 to Development box and we need to do some regression testing on the BW side to make sure the upgrade goes smoothly on QA and Production. If you have gone through the same process, could you please provide a list of or link to standard CRM extractors that could be used as checklist for regression testing on BW side?

Upgrade non-smartphone line to iPhone 4S and then transfer to different phone line on family plan

I am on a family plan where I have a smart phone and my father and mother have normal non-data phones.
My line is not due for an upgrade until June 2012.
A verizon rep told me that I could use my father's upgrade to pre-order and activate an iPhone 4S and then re-activate my father's non-smartphone on his phone # and activate the iPhone 4S on my own phone #.
Once activated on his phone number they will add the Data plan; but once I reactivate his old non-data phone I will no longer need the data plan.
Will this work? I'm not sure the rep I spoke to understood that my father has a non-data phone when she explained this procedure.

If you have an online account with Verizon Wireless, you can transfer the upgrade from one number on your account to another number on your account (for example, transfer the upgrade from your father's phone to your phone).
Sign on to verizonwireless.com. Log in with your user ID and password. Click on My Verizon, and select Upgrade Device. Below each phone on your account, there will be an upgrade device date, and a link to Transfer Upgrade. Click the link and it will ask you which line you want to transfer from, and you can transfer the upgrade to your phone. You won't need to switch the data plan on your father's phone at all.
I just did the same thing on my account to be ready for the new phone tomorrow. Hope this helps!

Premiere Pro 1.5 OEM to Premiere Pro CS4 upgrade non-OEM?

According to Adobe customer service chat, I was told that the serial number of my Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 is an OEM version. I purchased it on eBay. Adobe informed me that is not liscensed to anyone and is not registered.
Adobe told me that when going from OEM to the Premiere Pro CS4 upgrade CD, my Premiere Pro will no longer be the OEM version.
Is this true?
Also, I am able to upgrade OEM Premiere Pro 1.5 to non-OEM CS4. Anyone have experience with this?

You may have to first open the old project on a PC, as there was no Mac version for 1.5.

Thinkpad 600 bios upgrade non-diskette?

trying to upgrade a friend's bios so he can install linux.
got a bit of a prob: no floppy drive.
it doesn't appear lenovo provide a non-diskette bios upgrade for the 600 (its not an E and its not an X).
i can see one of three options, in order of preference:
1. someone proves me wrong and points me in the direction of a 600 non-diskette bios upgrade download
2. someone tells me how i can create a 1.44mb diskette compatible directory in windows into which i can extract the floppy bios upgrade exe for the 600
3. we find a second-hand ibm 600 diskette drive in a skip somewhere (funnily enough i've got an old thinkpad floppy drive - god knows where i picked that up - but the connecter is about 3x too big)

there possibly another option - install another version of linux: we're sticking ubuntu on there because neither of us are techies and, well, ubuntu is supposed to be plain sailing isn't it? but perhaps someone can recomend another version of linux that will install on a 1999 bios on a thinkpad 600?

Welcome to the forum!
First, I was absolutely floored that IBM doesn't offer a non-diskette version of a BIOS update for base 600 model. So, no, I don't have a magic wand to show you that path.
My suggestion would be to try and find a FDD for 600 series, they're all the same, and should be dime a dozen on eBay.
However, even the "updated" BIOS dates from 2001, which would be my biggest concern when installing any reasonably new distro.
I hope that I get to be proven wrong by your experience, but I doubt that Ubuntu will work well on that machine. Puppy Linux or DSL would be my suggestions. The great thing about 600 series is that you can put a lot of (expensive) RAM in and somewhat offset the slow CPU...

Could I download a disguised virus in a fake Firefox update? Ever since the last upgrade none of my .exe files will run. The version number of the upgrade was lower than the latest version. My computer is in real trouble!

I deleted the "upgraded" version and tried to reload the latest version from Firefox website. I could download it but could not run it. Computer asks for an application to run the file with, and there is none. Also, all of my system applications now no longer respond.

That does sound suspicious. You may want to run some supplemental scans. These two tools are highly regarded:

If your system is clean of malware, you could completely remove all versions of Firefox and install again.

Upgrading non-Apple software

Hi there,
I am trying to upgrade some Nikon software. After download, I get a .sit file on my desktop. Trying to open the application gets me an error message "There is no default application associated with the file".
I am new to Mac obviously and would be grateful for a solution.

You need to download the free Stuffit Expander to unzip the file. .sit files are an older compressed file type and the macs no longer come with anything to expand them.

You simply open the old files in the newer versions of iWork that work with Mavericks and the iApps should automatically convert the old file format to the new one.. but once that's done there's no going back to the old iApp version with your docs.

After 3.5 upgrade - what to test?

We are upgrading from BW 3.0B to BW 3.5 latest patch.
Once the upgrade is complete and turned over to the BW team, what sort of things should be tested?
In terms of Bex, and data extraction/loading/business Content etc.
Does anyone have suggestions/scripts or helpful resources that they have used or followed to test an upgrade?

In fact you should do lots of checks before the upgrade also. There is a guide in service marketpplace and you can check that.
Some routine checks.
Before upgrade;
1. RSRV
2. release all transports and freezing any subsequent development and locking the user accounts.
3. Usually we do the upgrade in a sandbox environment test and then do the dev. q and prod environments.
After upgrade:
1. test check whether all the cubes and routine are in good shape.
2. al reports run the way it used to run.
Warning: Some items will break and wor with your Basis team.

TOBJ entries missing from upgrade dev and test systems

We are in the process of ECC Upgrade from 4.7 to ECC 6.0 and upgraded our dev and test systems. We missing some SAP defined object entries in TOBJ table from dev and test. Because of this some of the roles getting transport errors if the roles contain those missing objects. We tried to transport the missing entries but we don't see any provision for that. Does any one through an idea to move those missing entries from dev to test. Not sure we will get same error in production. This table updates during upgrade and may be we missed some thing in test as though we followed the same upgrade process for both systems.

Possibly you are no longer licensed for components which these objects are called from in their concepts.
In that case the ability to start the component objects should be removed as well.
Of course if some Z-programs checked these objects or SAP's own "package concept" extended syntax checks did not respect them then you might have problems.
This should normally only apply to manual authorization instances, as if you had upgraded the roles and regenerated them, then you would not have this problem (in the roles).
It tells us something about how you or someone else without any training have built these roles (or subsequently mucked them up...)...
When reading stuff like this, I am always of two minds...
1) SAP should make the concepts simpler and more intuitive to use without "cowboy" activities allowed by users with SAP_ALL etc.
2) Customers should bleed for their own sins for not training people appropriatly (here, faking CV's is also ma major pest!).
It is always a bit of a cat & mouse game and ends up in forums such as SDN in the long run.
Some of it might also have become "available" to be used by SAP (I believe it was the 6.20 upgrade which installed everything...).
Real bugger. I would accept it and test as best you can. You can also compare "where.used-lists" and "code scans" before and after the upgrade to see whether it is used by foreign repository objects.
The scan is more reliable here, as sometimes the object name itself is a variable from a data declaration or condition which you cannot see in the "procedural" code.

Non-proctored test - what happens if internet gets disconnected?

Hi,
I am thinking of giving Oracle SQL Certification (1Z0-051) online as the test center is too far from my residence. Moreover, the internet on a given day gets disconnected for 2-5 seconds and then comes back again (sometimes requires a modem restart).
Just wondering, what happens when internet get disconnected while giving the test. Can I resume my test or has $125 gone down the drain?
