BW Analysis authorization issue... need help urgently....

We have one BW query which is pulling data from Contract Division info-object. Now this report does not variable selection object so it is pulling data from all values of Contract Division. Values of Contract Division are CNC, CNS, CNE and CNL.
Now we have created an analysis auth. object called z_es_3 and added Contract division info-object. Now we have added that z_es_3 into role and given value to CNS. now when we are running report, we are getting No Authorization error. When we are giving * value in z_es_3, it is running fine.
Now we have to restrict report to contract division. please help.

Are you running unrestricted search on Contract division in your queries? You should restrict it to value which is maintained in the authorization for the InfoObject.
Also please run the analysis authorization trace from RSECADMIN. That will give you a clearer picture of what is wrong.

We have a requirement for conditional mapping for HFM. When the value of certain account is positive, it is mapped to one account, else, to a different account. We are able to achieve this in the conditional mapping.
Once the mapping is done, we need the amount to be positive one. How do we attain this?

Hi,
Lets say your two target accounts are called X & Y.
I assume in your account mapping you have something like
Source account xxxx1 ==> Target account X
Source account yyyy1 ==> Target account Y
Here is what you can do.
In the import script of Account you can check the amount value < 0 and assign to account X else to account Y and assign to the out variable.
In the import script of Amount you can check if the source account is xxxx1 or yyyy1 then always assign abs(amount value) and assign to the out variable.
In the account mapping,
If you wish you can retain the below (with the account script change as I suggested, you will never get xxxx1 or yyyy1 in the out variable anymore)
Source account xxxx1 ==> Target account X
Source account yyyy1 ==> Target account Y
And add the two additional entries (since out variable for the two conditions will be X & Y)
Source account X ==> Target account X
Source account Y ==> Target account Y

Concurrent crystal license timeout Issue, need help.

Hi,
My company is using crystal enterprise 10 with 18 concurrent user license.
However, we often hit out of crystal license issues.
Does time to wait for exporting crystal reports to excel/pdf takes up licenses?
Does time to wait for crystal report to be printed or viewed on the web browser takes up licenses?
We all know that user sessions take up user licenses. 1 user login take up 1 license.
Does crystal pruning job takes up user licenses too?

Hi Daren,
Support on Cystal Enterprise 10 has expired. Make sure that your users are actually logging off and not just closing their browser.
One user can take up multiple licenses by not logging off or opening multiple browsers to view multiple reports. Scheduled jobs that are running do not take up license, but a user veiwing a historical instance does take up a license.
In your metrics tab in the Cyrsatl Management Console -> Servers-> cms you should be able to see the active number of sessions- system connections are backend connections between the servers and these do not take up any licenses.

is being banned as there is multiple obsence post. I need to clarify that i have never used my account to post in BBM forum before. Even if i did, is when i need help urgently for my BBM application. Currently i am holding 4 bbms now. Have never came across this issue. Pls check and advise

I have been trying this technique for the past 4 days. It doesnt work no matter how i change the password at the link that u gave me. Even though it's being reset accordingly, i am still unable to log in the password at my mobile. i am 100% sure that i have entered the correct password at my mobile. ( verify blackberry id) . I want to setup new email accounts under "setup" . Upon me clicking " email accounts", it prompt for the one key password. I have never faced this issue before. I am very very sure that my password is correct. Pls advise as i need to add email accounts. Other programs are working fine without any password required being prompt. ie. blackberry world

BI 7.0 Analysis Authorization issue: some reports displaying a blank page.

This is regarding BI 7.0 Analysis Authorization issue.
Overview:
we have restricted some queries at infoobject level.
Issue:
a. For some of the queries, we can see the selection screen but when we try to execute the query by clicking on the execute button (Queries WAD) we get a blank page, meaning nothing is displayed on the output (white/Blank screen).
b. When we execute the same query through RSRT, we get a message which says "Disconnecting from BW server..".
c. Let me explain further on this. Basically we are doing this in order to have limited access to Auditors at the client side. At the same time normal users should not get impacted due to this, hence we created two roles. One for normal users and other for Auditors.
d. Now the thing is that we execute the same report with normal user ID's the report executes properly and displays the output. it does not show the blank page.
e. But when we execute the same report with Auditors ID then we get a blank page.
Any idea why this is so?

For your point, "rsecadmin - > analysis -> execute as -> check for the desired user & analyze the log" it didnu2019t allow me to analyze, since as soon as click on execute button a pop-up comes up saying "Disconnecting from the BW server..."
As mentioned earlier also it is giving me the below message,

Need help urgently with OS X and Windows 7

I need help urgently.
I installed Windows 7 on my macbook pro with OS X Lion. After installing Windows7, I accidently converted the basic volumes to dynamic volumes and now i can't even boot to OS X.
Please help me how to recover my OS X Lion. If I have to delete Windows and bootcamp partitions, it is OK.
I just want to get back my OS X bootable.

The usual reason for the OSX partition to be invisible under these circumstances is that it has been trashed by Windows.

If is a fillable form, just tab to the next field. What we do not understand from you is IF it is a fillable form or not. If it is not, then the 3 options I gave can be used. Placing text is always a problem. You might find it useful to turn on the grid to help in placing your typewriter fields. However, if it is fillable you do not have to create any fields to type in, you just leave the tool as the hand tool and select the predefined fields with the cursor or the tab key and type accordingly. If the field is a checkbox, then you just use the space key to activate it.
So, are we talking about a fillable form or something that has the appearance of a form, but not fields to fill in. This is what Bernd has been try to find out and you keep suggesting it is fillable as we read what you have said.

Analysis Authorization Issue

Hi:
I created an analysis authorization ZCO_CODE to trstrict it by a company code.
I added following objects in authorization with values.
0COMP_CODE = 1000
0TCAACTVT = 03
0TCAIFAREA = *
0TCAIPROV = *
0TCAVALID = *
Then I created a role Z:00:BW_REPORT, where I added following authorization objects S_RS_AUTH and restricted it by value ZCO_CODE. Then I assigned this role to a user test01.
When I execute a program RSEC_MIGRATION for this specific user, I do not see authorization object ZCO_CODE on 2nd step of this program. Any Idea Why? I think this object should show up as I want to migrate this specific object.
Help will be appreciated.

Okay here is my issue.
I have a Reporting authorization Object created earlier which is ZCOCODE. I though I'll have to create a new Analysis authorization object e.g. ZCO_CODE and then restrict it with other chars. as mentioned in Marc Bernards presentation and then you have to migrate it.
In selection list I can see old Reporting authorization object. If I select it and use option "Enhance existing profile" then It will update profile and not role? right....
How can I see whether it has updated existing profile?????
Do I need to create new Analysis Auth. for Company code or I can use old Reporting authorization for company code?
For testing purpose, I created a test user and assigned all reporting roles but It will not show up in RSEC_MIGRATION step???

T400 LCD dim issue - Need help!!

I'm having a LCD dim issue with a T400. Have changed the LCD panel, LCD cable and systemboard but still having same issue. If i removed the lcd card, then the display is working fine. I've tested the lcd card in another working unit and it's working as well (means the lcd card is working). I use a working lcd card and plug into this T400 but LCD still dim.
I've try to switch the problematic lcd cable and lcd panel to a working systemboard and it kills the systemboard. Have try to switch a few things but still unable to find the root cause. Urgently need help on this. Any advice will be appreciated.

i suggest uninstalling your current graphic card driver, let windows install its own generic drivers and see if that makes any difference

Stuttering flv playback issue- need help asap

We need help asap. Have a project is due to deliver today (5/14).
We have a video to go on a dvd-rom, live action with Motion Graphics behind.
When output is done thru Projector the Motion Graphics stutter as they scroll.
Here is more technical info:
Stuttering flv playback issue:
Prores 422 timeline 29.97fps 1280x720 output from fcp using current settings.
Mov file is approx 7gb, plays relatively smooth on a mac pro with no raid.
Frame by frame analysis shows all frames are present with no jumps tears or skips.
Tried several output paths, programs and settings to create a smooth flv file to no avail.
We adjusted data rates from 2k, 3.5k, 4k and 8k, no luck
We adjusted keyframe rates from low to all frames, no luck.
We tried cs3 flash encoder, cs5 media encoder, squeeze ect, same results.
Playback in the flash projector seems to choke slightly no matter what we do.
Have also posted in the Director Forum.
Any help much appreciated!

Here are a few ideas off the top of my head:
Try playing the file using a different xtra, sometimes different ones will work better. If you have Director 11.5, there is a native flv playback xtra.
You can build a player easily in Flash using the flvPlayback component, then bring that into Director as a swf.
Once you have the video in Director, try making the member Direct To Stage (DTS). If it is already DTS, try making it not DTS.
Make sure the video is not transparent, and nothing in Director overlaps the video... in fact, when the video is playing, nothing should be moving at all, and try to keep the amount of code that is running to a minimum.
Try lowering your video's data rate further or try using a different codec.
Using VBR (Variable Bit Rate) compression often makes the video appear to play smoother.
Try compressing the flv with different software. FFMpeg, for example, is free and does a very good job, often better than the Flash Video Encoder that comes with Flash/Creative Suite.

Analysis Authorizations Issue (BI 7.0)

Dear Colleagues,
I have a question regarding BI 7.0 Authorizations. What happens when a cube is created from an Infoprovider in which Company Code (to use an example) is marked as authorizations relevant, but that infobject is not used. That is, the cube gets data from that Infoprovider, but the data retrieved has nothing to do with Company Code. When a query is created from this cube, will the user be required to have authorizations for the company code of the information he's retrieving or will she/he be able to see all the information?

I think I understand your question?
If you have characteristic company code marked as authorization relevant...
You have two basic info cubes, one with company code A and one without company code B.
You have a multi cube combining characteristics from both basic cubes (including company code).
If you execute a query written against the multi cube but extracts data only from basic cube B (without company code), will you need to have an analysis authorization with company code defined?
If this is your question, then Yes, you do need to define company code in the authorization (assigning value # should be sufficient).
