BW authorization required to Bookmark BW Report iView

Hi All,
I have BW report displayed in portal iView. Everything is fine, the system for BW is ajusted, the user mapping is correct (UIDPW method is used)- I can see what I expect. The 0ANALYZER template is used. But when I press "Bookmark" button on "Data Analysis" tab the standard browser authorization window appears which asks me about user name and password to connect to my BW server. How could I rid of this authorization request?

I'm trying to open report directly in IE. The URL is:

Of course explorer asks about my uesrname and password to login to mybw.subdomain.domain.com. I enter my login and password and do NOT check the "Remember password" option. Report is displayed. I press "Bookmark". Everything works fine - the URL changes to
http://mybw.subdomain.domain.com:8000/sap/bw/bex?SAP-LANGUAGE=E&BOOKMARK_ID=9DZRGGZZDRV4C1X9TQROC7TFK
No additional requests about password.
Any ideas?

Hello Brian,
You follow the steps below.
1. Create a System in portal which will talk to the backend system SAP BIW.
2. Mention required parameters in the system, like
IF you are using loadbalancing system, u can use message server port or if you are using dedicated to application server ..you can use application server host address..
3. mention the logical system name
4. Logon method
5. System id
6. System number, and Remote host type : should be 3
7. WAS host name with Port
8. Protocol type : http
Make sure that your services(/SAP/BC/BEx) will active in SAP BIW system, you can check using transaction SICF.
-> Check the permission of the portal system, u can assign eu_role to the systems and check the button as enduser.
-> Also check the authorizations in the BIW system.
BIW Report Creation in Portal:
You can achive this using two methods depends upon how you have configured the Portal with BIW.
One way is: Create a iview using a template in Portal...BIW Query report iview...
Using cmd = ldoc_query=your queryname

Is their a way to display BW BEx Report Iviews in Tabbed Interface?
My requirement is to show four BEx Reports using 4 tabs on a page. Can we achieve this functionality in portal? If yes can some one guide me how to proceed?

why not have a webtemplate with tabbed interace and use that webtemplate to create BWP iview?

Access denied error for BW Report iView..Please help :(

Hello All,
I have created a BW Report iView..containing a Bex query.
Have created the required BW system object too.
When I preview this iView, it asks me for BW system authentication....since am not mapped to this BW system.
Its alright till here......
Problem:
Now, when I copy paste the URL (URL generated when you preview this iView) into a new browser window, I get an error saying:
" An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : N/A
Component Name : N/A
Access denied (Object(s): <iView path>
Exception id: 02:57_13/02/06_0034_6204550
See the details for the exception ID in the log file "
I checked tha bove mentioned log and it says:
Permission check failed - Object <iView path> Pcd.Use Principal: Information not available with current trace level#
Changed the iView authentication scheme to every value present but it did not resolve.
Please help me resolve this.

Difference: SAP BW Report iview - Query iView - URL iView

Hi,
I want to show BW reports on the portal. Can anybody suggest me the different ways of doing it ? And also let me know about checklist of steps that need to be performed.
Can anybody tell me the difference between showing BW reports through URL iviews, showing reports through Query iView and showing reports through SAP BW Report iView ?
Which one can i use for showing BW reports taking into consideration the implementation of SSO between the two? I tried the URL iView (using the Web URL of reports generated by BW) but it asks for Username/password. Is that the problem with SSO. How can i check if SSO parameters have been set or not. I have imported the verify.der to BW System and added that to ACL. Is there anything else which is required?

Hi Manoj,
I feel BW report iview will solve your problem. You can create a query sting in BW query designer and give the same in BW query string text area while creating BW report iview.
In the case of an url iview you are just giving a URL link of the BW report (this will ask for username/password).
But, in the case of a BW report iview you can view the required query as an iview (user mapping can be successfully done in this case) You should give fully qualified domain name in Was server option while creating the system.
While using the logon ticket Login id of both the system (ie BW and Portal) should be the same.

Functunality of save view in BW report iview

Dear all,
When SAP BW Query report iview is called in portal, u will get Save view, Bookmark, variableSreen...etc buttons.. When u click on saveview button...it will ask u to save as a view of that report with specific name.
My question is, where it will get stored.?
How to retrieve back those views?

As mentioned by Durairaj, the view would be available in the saved views of BW System. To have a look follow these steps:
1) Go to Programs -> Business Explorer -> Analyser
2) From the BW Toolbar -> Click on folder icon (open) -> Saved views
3) This will prompt you to logon
4) Search for the technical name you had given. You will find it there.
How to retrive and view in portal.
As mentioned above, you can retrieve it back from the BW System. Now, as to how to view it on Portal, this is exactly the same report which you had opened and saved with a different technical name. Which means, only the technical name has changed but the query string still remains the same and thereby the report is still the same.
Once he saved the view, all other who login and view the report in portal, they should see only the view saved by the administator.
But this report still remains the same. This view is no different from the report which you opened and then saved with a different technical name.
I want to hide the save view option in the report
Not sure if you can do this for a set of users.

you are talking about the user authorized to use particular T-code / report / program right ?
these things will done by the BASIS consultant, according to the client requirement you have to give the list of T-codes/reports/programs who are authorized and who are not authorized in the system.

Passing parameters to a BW Report iView dynamically

I have got some screen selection in a webDynpro iView and I need to pass all those selected values to a BW Report iView based on the user selection. eg. start date and end date selection.

I will try to describe my requirement once again. The iview A is the webDynpro iview and iview B is the BW Report iview. Now I want to make some selections in dropdown ,calendars and input fields in ivew A and then make a call to the iview B with all those parameters so that iview B can fire a query based upon the parameters.
ie. if I selected say startdate as today's date then this should be passed as a parameter to the BW Report iview and i need to set the application parameter for the BW Report ivew. Hope the reuirement is clear now. Please help me.

Authorization in BI for Enduser Reports

Once Role is created in PFCG we need to give authorization for end users for reports.Can anyone explain the stepls to be followed for giving authorization.

Procedure
       1.      Choose Tools ® Administration ® User maintenance ® Roles (transaction PFCG).
       2.      Specify the role to which you want to assign one or more users.
       3.      Choose the User tab page.
The status display on the tab page tells you whether users have already been assigned to the role.
○       Red: No users assigned
○       Green: At least one user assigned
○       Yellow: Although users are assigned, user master comparison is not current
For composite roles, the status display refers only to the assignment of users.
       4.      Enter as many user IDs as desired in the list.
Enter the user IDs either directly or from the possible entries help. You can make a multiple selection with the Select pushbutton, such as all users in a user group.
You can specify a validity period for the assignment in the other columns. When you assign users to the role, the default start date is the current date and the default end date is the 31.12.9999. You can change these default values.
       5.      Perform a user comparison if necessary.
The generated profile is not entered in the user master record until the users have been compared. Changes to the users assigned to the roles and the generation of an authorization profile also require a comparison.
You must then perform a user comparison on the User tab page, to automatically enter the generated authorization profiles in the user master record for the assigned users.
If you do not want to restrict the assignment validity period (current date until 31.12.9999), no further action is required. If you want to limit the validity period, you must periodically schedule the report transaction PFUD daily to update the user master records. It must also be scheduled if you use the organizational management.
You cannot enter generated authorization profiles directly into user master records. Generated profiles are only assigned to user master records by assigning users to roles and then comparing users. The profiles for the role are entered in all appropriate user master records.
You have the following options for performing a user comparison:
○       Choose the User Comparison button on the User tab page. The users are compared for the role you created. The status displayed for this key specifies whether a new comparison must be made.
○       Choose Utilities ® Settings ® Automatic comparison at save. When you save the role, a user comparison is performed automatically.
○       Wait until the user comparison is made with the program PFCG_TIME_DEPENDENCY. Set the HR-Organizational Management Comparison indicator on the selection screen of report RHAUTUPD_NEW.
You should schedule the report PFCG_TIME_DEPENDENCY periodically (preferably daily) as a background job. This ensures that user authorizations are regularly updated. The program performs a complete user master comparison for all roles. The authorizations are updated in the user master records. The authorization profiles of user assignments which have become invalid are removed from the user master record. The authorization profiles of valid user assignments to the role are entered.
Users who are assigned to a composite role are displayed on a gray background in the roles in the composite role. The entries cannot be changed. They should only be changed in the composite role.
If you perform a user master comparison for the composite role, it performs a user master comparison for all roles in the composite role.

Wow good timing, I just (well… 3 hrs ago now) got off a 45 min. fone call! Here is a story…
1. Had to call Verizon Cust Care, AFTER,
2. Having a 10 min. problem trying to get a response (at least a status!) from the fargin Live Chat function to work, AFTER,
3. Only getting one response EM from this forum stating “Private email information removed as required by the Terms of Service”, “This question is Not Answered” and “Message was edited by: Admin Moderator” Most of my original additional info is gone! Then “Verizon Customer Service no longer has an e-mail option; you can contact them via chat, phone, or social media. If you can elaborate on your issue, there may be forum members who can help.”, AFTER,
4. Not finding a Verizon email addr to send my question about the “pagefreezer... Authorization Required” issue.
OK, I got partial resolutions to some of this from the sweetheart lady at Verizon Cust Care, 1-800-922-0204, as follows;
1. The “pagefreezer... Authorization Required” thing; The lady rep tried it & got the same error as me. My "View Your Letters" showed 2 documents. One I could DL the other gave the “Authorization Required” error. I wanted them both & didn’t read the one I got yet since I wanted to read the “Terms & Conditions” right away, the one I couldn’t get. I had this same error after re-trying this function regularly for 2 days with no answer from Verizon peeps, or anyone, from this forum
While on the fone, the rep looked into my acct. for a minute, saw both documents & said, “Oh…. you can ignore that error message.” WHAT!!! (so far NOT such a sweetheart!). She then said that all the Terms & Conditions are also in the OTHER doc I already DLed. NOW she tells me!
I told her I wanted BOTH docs & wanted the error fixed. I asked her to report this error so it could be fixed & not affect me or any other users. She said no need since I have the info. Getting more annoyed, I insisted she report it & she finally agreed to as Tik # (removed).
Status may not be avail to everyone since that Tik # is an abbreviation of some of my info.
2. I also reported the chat problem to the Live Chat to Verizon Cust Care. She tried it & had the same problem as I, but her screen also displayed Chat Operation Hrs. & msgs that said chat reps are busy, which my display did not as I was doing it along with her. (She is NOW trying hard to help me). She couldn’t explain this since she was using her Customer Access acct (same auth & access as mine) & said I SHOULD see this info also, but I was not.
Then some chat categories started highlighting & de-highlighting as we watched, so it must be that their server, or the chatters, are busy now, probably the latter. She didn’t know.
So, she is adding this chat issue to the same Tik #.
3. Verizon Cust Care. Couldn’t help with my forum operation questions. Your replies arrived while I am typing this! Thanks!
4. No EM for reporting problems is a bad business decision for Support! (I DO know why this is, but it’s still bad cust. relations). They make us jump through hoops to get a problem fixed and in a way that details can be retained in writing, like EM or chat can. Forums can be OK, but have registrations, pswds, too many rules, and not as quick or easy or convenient as chat or EM. Using the fone goes in one ear & out the other with my memory. Saved EMs & chats are easy to refer back to.
OK, my rant is done. I hope my new Verizon Wireless service is better than this experience. The fone works fine so far, even rather GOOD!
I must commend Jermonni, the Verizon Cust Care rep. She did turn into a sweetheart after 30 min on the fone & after she saw for herself my problems were real. She gave me her full name & sent me her direct EM addr to check on the Tik status.

I was thinking my complaint may have accelerated the resolution since you reported it as fixed. The Cust rep said I was the first she knows about to complain & maybe her immed. report to Internet Support Group while I was on the fone might have been between your 1st & 2nd reply & fixed the problem.
But, I just got the error again now, 11/5/13, ____, so it’s not yet fixed for me. My error page is

Unable to change language for SAP BW Report Iview

Dear all
We are currently rolling out BW Web Templates can be displayed in both EN and MS languages. The language can be changed via the URL that we display, e.g.
For English Language:
http://<hostname>:<port>/sap/bw/BEx?SAP-LANGUAGE=EN&cmd=ldoc&template_id=ZTEST
For Malay Language :
http://<hostname>:<port>/sap/bw/BEx?SAP-LANGUAGE=7&cmd=ldoc&template_id=ZTEST
We have published these templates into Ent. Portal 6 using SAP BW Report Iview, but unfortunately we cannot view the report in the Malay language (SAP-LANGUAGE=7), even though we have inserted the command SAP-LANGUAGE=7 in the SAP BW Report Iview query string. All the reports, although defaulted to SAP-LANGUAGE=7 displays in English. We also tried to set the language settings for the Iview, but there are no language 7 or MS in the Iview. It can only be defaulted to the Portals language, which is English.
Note that the reports can be viewed in the different languages if we using the URL separately outside of Portal, and also within BW Bex Analyzer itself. Only the Portal doesnt allow us to view the reports in MS language.
Can someone help us on this matter? All helps really appreciated. Thanks a lot.

That's a bit odd indeed. If I understand your question correctly, you do get the BW reports in the correct language (either English or Malay) using the url's in your post but not when using them within a standard BW report iView?
The language setting for the iView has, unfortunately, nothing to do with the language for the content itself but can you tell me what the requested URL is for both Reports?
The BW Report iView is based on the Application Integration Component that generates the URL based on the paramaters you provide in the BW report iView.The following template is being used: <iView[PORTAl_URL]>?System=<System[url_Encode]>&Report=<Report>&DynamicParameter=<DynamicParameter[url_Encode]>. I could be that the generation of the URL fails due to the 7 (don't know why, just a gut feeling because it's the only thing that's different between those urls). You could try to use create an iView based on the Application Integrator instead (some more control over the URL template) but first you need to check whether the URL generated by the iView is correct.

Issue with SAP BW Report Iview

Hi,
The issue stands with the context menu(right click menu)
I have created a BI Query and generated a BW Report with the Web Designer Wizard.
When I run the generated URL it is working fine, with the context menu also working perfectly.
However when I use that report in SAP BW Report Iview, the report gets opened perfectly but the context menu is taking me to a new page with those options.
As of now i do not know of any setting for context menu specially.
If anyone can help me or if anyone has encountered this error before, pl. let me know the solution.

Iam creating an iview for publishin BW Reports in Enterprise Portal with the iview name SAP BW Report iview ,it asks for BEx Web Application Query String and Application Parameters and we are stuck over that.Do we need to create some standard templates for it and then connect them to reports .What should we enter under these parameters.Kindly revert back.
When we launch the SAPBWWebAppDesigner for template designing,an error message is displayed as mentioned below.Kindly please check that and the reason for its display.Do we need to make certain configurations for the Webapplication server for BW ,if any one has a document /guide available for that,kindly please revert back.
Error:
"You are logged on to an application server that does not support HTTP.Some of the Web Application Designer functions are therefore not available.Do you want to logon to a different application server?"
We are also not able to connect to the Web Application Server of BW directly by putting the url of the WAS into our browser.Are any extra configurations needed for that on the BW side for WEBAS.

SAP BW Report iView problem

Hi,
Im trying to create a SAP BW Report iView with a BEx URL, but Im getting an error:
Session Management will not work! Please check the DSM log file for details.
When I use the wizard (for SAP BW Report iView), it asks me to fill out the web application string. Here I pasted in the URL. I left the application parameters blank.
The BEx URL:
http://<hostname>/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=DA&bsplanguage=DA&CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID=WEB_TRAFIK_STARTSIDE
The BW call works fine in the browser and with a URL iView!?
EP 6.0 / WAS 6.40 / BW 3.5

you should be using BW Report iView.
and when you create BW Report iView pass the following for the querystring parameter
CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID=WEB_TRAFIK_STARTSIDE
for this to work, in the system definition WAS host , was path and was protocol should be maintained

Context Menu in BW Report Iview not opening after upgrade to Portal 7.3

Hi All,
We have a unusual problem that, the Context menu of the BW reports for options like filtering is not opening post Upgrade to Portal 7.3 for End users.
However, with Super Admin role, the Context menu opens for the BW report Iview.
I have tried giving the same permission that the Super Admin Role has on the BW Report Iview to the End users, still no success.
Any idea? Anybody faced same kind of problem?
Please revert for any more info.

This is really a shot in the dark since I have not done much with 7.3. Have you checked for UME actions that are assigned to the administrator but not the end user?
