Any one into BW-BASIS Can let me know what's the actual process of making BW-PRD to BW-DEV client copy. What all are the post process and pre process required while doing the client copy

For everyone here seeking help and/or offering it, there is a whole new set of at least a hundred (100) Apple Knowledge Base docs about LP X. I stumbled upon it, searching for something else. My first impression is that they're very useful and deceptively simply and well written, and a very good source to refer to for specific subjects.

Monitoring and Basis Docs

Love the new engine, Shared memory stability at last!.
I cannot find a monitor in the NWA, we use CCMS for all our customers here and would like to know something about the planned monitoring infrastrucure. I would have expected it in NWA as it was there before.
Also All the online documents are mailnly for Java developers. I'm Basis and would love to see archtiecture docs and interface and config docs. I imagine its all a bity too early as this is just a sneak preview.

The word 'preview' says it all.
We decided not to include the monitoring plugins that are part of NWA in the preview version because we had some problems at that moment and we preferred to focus on the stability of the other plugins. In the official release of course there will be monitoring functionally.
In TechEd there was an announcement about a new product CE(Composition Environment) witch basically will included part of Java stack of NW (Java EE 5, Portal , WebDynPro and a light version of NWA). CE targets Java developers and NWA that is part of it will work only in local mode in order to administer the local developer system. Plugin called Java System Reports will be available.
I suppose you are more interested in the next version of NW. In it NWA will be able to work also in Central mode this means to administer more than one system at a time.
The Java System Reports and System Status Overview plugins witch are available in NW04/NW04S will be also present. Also at the moment we are developing monitoring reports based on BI and that rely on the existing infrastructure and will be part of NWA. With their help you will be able to monitor and the ABAP stack of NW.
About the documentation you ask we are still in development and it is a little bit early to publish something. For configuration and setup there will be a plugin in NWA developed by the CTC (Central Technical Configuration) colleagues that will make the life easier for many people. Based on the scenario you have after executing several templates for your system or set of systems you will have them configured. Also the central mode of NWA will be setuped from there.
I do not know how familiar you are with NWA and its central mode so if you want I can explain a bit more about it.

Question about base and target document

Dear All,
Does anyone know which table maintain the relationship between base and target document.
For instance, user clicks the base document in the form of AR invoice and return the base sales order.

In each and every document table the base docs and the target docs information is stored.
Just take a look at the REF DB help file in which u can see the fields and their relations.
For AR Invoice in the lines table INV1 there are 3 fields BaseRef,BaseType,BaseEntry these fields help u in knowing the base doc details, and for the target doc details the following fileds will help, TargetType,TrgetEntry.
U can find the reference file at the following location. C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One SDK\Help\REFDB.chm

Activate Base and Target Document menu's

Hi all,
i am facing a problem, i have added a new form and know i want want to activate Base Document and Target Document menu's of system for my form but when i am doing
<b>oForm.EnableMenu("5898",True)</b>
the system throws an exception that menu not found.
can any body please tell me that is there any way to enable these menu's for user forms

Hi Manu,
In B1, only when target and base documents arre present for a particular Sales/Purchase document, the menu target doc and base doc menus are enabled. otherwise it will not be enabled. Since this is disabled by the system, when you try to activate the system disabled menu it throws an error.

How to find out (parent)Base document, Base Condition type

Hi,
Is there a way to find out the base/parent document for a particular document.
1. We copy OR doc and rename it as ZOR, Is there a table which stores this parent-child relationship.
2. Similarly, we copy K007 and lets say we rename it as Z007, how can we find out the original condition type it was copied from.
Yes, we can probably compare document category or condition type class, but isn't there a table or some source where we can get the info from?

Sales Order Cancelled

Hi Expert,
If I reversed/cancelled my previous Sales Order document there any effect in G/L A/c because I know that Sales Order is Base Doc so I think there is no effect. Suggest me .

Hi,
In Sales Order, there will not be any automatic accounts postings. So, if you cancel there will not be any implecation in G/L accounts.
I am not clear the term reverse you have mentioned. If you have prepared any documents based on sales order (delivery or any other document) then there will be implecation in G/L Accounts.

when i do normal query i am getting ora-04031 error and 10g server is Automatic Shared Memory Management since i set sga_target and server as to do automatically readjusts the sizes of memory pools, if that is the case why it throwing ora-04031 error;

And your patch level is?
And your hardware and operating system are?
What did you find when you looked this up at metalink?
Did you follow the advice in the metalink Knowledge Base docs?

DNS OK but MX not working

Hi Guys, Apologies for my lack of understanding about all things DNS and thanks in advance for any assistance you may be able to offer.
I cautiously followed the instructions here:

I chose to redelegate the domain to BC's servers, but allowed the client to continue using their external mail exchange by adding their existing MX settings to the BC control panel's domain settings.
The new BC site went live moments after I added the BC nameservers in the DNS registrant's control panel and I was elated... but... the client's mail started bouncing about 30 to 60 minutes later. That was 18 hours ago now. I left it assuming it would just sort itself out given time but panicked this morning when their mail was still bouncing. I very quickly swapped the name servers back to their old hosting and immediatley their mail began to function again.... but strangely the site didn't switch back to the old hosting - it is still showing as the new BC website. Shouldn't that have swapped back immediately too? I've still got the domain and the MX records nominated in BCs Control Panel so is that why I'm still seeing the new BC site at the domain? does BC perform some permanent swap or something?

I'll outline the steps I took to see if you can deduce what I've done wrong:
STEP 1:
on the screen above I added:
ns1.worldsecuresystems.com
ns2.worldsecuresystems.com
ns3.worldsecuresystems.com
as the nameservers then removed ns1.enetica.com.au and ns2.enetica.com.au
STEP 2:
I was informed by the companies IT consultant that they hosted their own mail with a company called Anittel
They informed me the MX record was:
mx01.anittel.net
This also seemed to concur with what I noticed in the Control Panel of their Domain Registrant (below)
So I followed suit and set up three MX records in the BC Domain settings as you can see in the screen below
I set the TTL to the default one hour - not sure if that makes any difference.
I assumed the DNS redelegation would mean that the MX records in the Enetica (domain registrant) control panel would be bypassed so I did not remve the MX records from their control panel.
There were also some A Records listed in the Enetica control panel that I assumed would be bypassed now that the domain was redelegated to BC. They are shown below. Should I have made similar A Records in BC's Domain Settings?

Turns out I did need to emulate the A-Record in which mail.laneind.com.au was redirected to the IP address shown. Is this a regular requirement on many Domain Registrars in order to get mail directed to an exchange? If so can you please update your online Knowledge Base docs?

A/R Credit Memo with Reference to A/R Invoice thru DTW

You can obviously transfer the Target Docs based on Base Doc.
All you need to do is you have to give base entry in target document line template.......

First of all welcome to SAP Forum.
Let me tell you its a wrong forum where you posted your query.
You should post your query in SAP Business One Core Forum.
Now for your doubt I guess You are trying to copy Service Type AR Invoice in Item Type Credit Memo.
Just check your Document Type (Item or Service) must be same for both Target and Base Doc while Copy......

Yes it is possible, here is an example of how i added a invoice based on a sales order, just change it as you require.

Price List Auto Update based on Last Purchase Price

Dear Expert
                     I have a problem in updating the PriceList at one of my client site . They are making CST purchase
Eg.    We are entering purchase through Goods Receipt PO item cost 100RS and CST tax 20 RS
         Then Copy to AP invoice . so the item cost is coming to 120 as CST is non deductible tax .
         If we goto Price list , it will clearly show last purchase Price is 120 every thing is fine till now
       Now the issue comes :- company is incurring frieght charges 10 Rs or any amount this also has to be included to cost that we are entering through Landed Cost . This 10Rs is automatically adding to cost . if we look the item cost it will be 130 this is also correct . But the Problem is that when we go to Pricelist we find that Last Purchase price as 110 that is 100 Rs base doc price +10 Rs Frieght (Landed Cost) . .
Actually the Last Purchase Price should come as 130 (1002010) . We are dealing with 4000+ items it is difficult to mannually update the Price List .

In most localization, price is for before tax price. If you want tax included in the price, you can create your own price list to calculate.
