BW BASIS Problem

Hi Guys
THis is more of a basis question.
I have BI7 ides installed on my machine.
I start up the BW instance in the console. There is 2 servers listed and the database.
One server turns red because one the services isnt working.

Quesion on fragile base problem

Hi,
I like to know how JAVA addesses the fragile base problem. I understand fragile base problem occurs when you want to add a new feature to a base programs, it requires the modification of all the children class to also inherit the new feature. This takes a lot of effort and it's error prone. I kind of know that polymorphism concept is the feature Java added to address the problem but I don't have a solid picture of how it handles the problem. Can anyone provide some info on this. Thanks.

Sorry, I probably did not mean adding new features. I
think what I am trying to say is supposedly we change
a method in the parent class to return a String,
previously a Integer. If we don't retrofit the
children class, it will cause the program to fail
compiling. If the program uses deep inheritance, just
one single change might require a lot of work to
retrofit. So, how would a developer design the
application to avoid this problem? Unless you are overriding or extending the method this isn't the case. Really it's not so much a parent - child problem as it is a general application problem. Everywhere you are calling this method will no longer compile.
One solution that always works is to make the change and let the compiler tell you what other code needs to be fixed. Java doesn't have any answers for this problem though some IDEs do as the previous poster mentioned.
The best way to avoid something like this is to have a good design. I can't think of any good examples of when this could happen. Usually deeply inherited classes should be almost completely stable. If not, maybe that method should't be part of the base class at all. Changing a method to return a String instead of an Integer is a huge change. Really you are talking about changing its purpose. Maybe if you gave a better example I could understand a little better.

Family Base Problem

Hi! I'm very new to Verizon and just installed Family Base on my daughter's phone. Problem is, it won't unlock. I logged on here and the app on my phone, and it's saying the phone is unlocked. I can assure you it is not. Currently as I'm typing, I'm on hold with tech. Hoping to get an answer. Has anyone else had this trouble?

Withholding tax calculation with formula base problem

Dear all,
I maintained some formula depend on client requirement. for example:
up to 200,000.00 no withholding tax
2 lax to500,000.00 <1.00 %> tax
5 lax to 1,500,000.00 <2.50%> tax 1.00 % Reduce on 500,000.00 base amount
15 lax to 2,500,000.00 < 3.50 % > tax 2.50 % Reduce on 1,500,000.00 base amount
25 lax to 3,000,000.00 < 4.00 % > tax 3.50 % Reduce on 2,500,000.00 base amount
30 lax to 99,999,999,999.00     <5.00 %> tax 4.00 % Reduce on 3,000,000.00 base amount
Like this i maintained slabs in formulas for calculating withholding tax. depend on this formula up to 2 lax their is no tax. after crossing 2 lax up to 5 lax 1% tax
in this case tax will calculate based on total vendor invoices. But hear it is calculated on present invoice based only. for example i posted 2 invoices with amount 2 lax. it means i reached 1st slab up to 2 lax no Tax. system also calculated like that only. but when i try to post another invoice with amount 3 lax system is calculated 1% tax on 3 lax amount only. but already i posted 2 lax invoice in vendor account. system not considered this amount.
*but actually in this case i want to calculate 3+2= 5 lax * 1% tax . but hear my system is not consider previous invoices .*
Please do need full help.....

Data base problem-new user need help

im new user and trying to insert data base to my page using
"asp.net c",i get connetction to my data base but when i try to

XI and BASIS problem

Hi all,
Yesterday, I encountered a SYSFAIL in smq2 (queues). The error was 'SQL error in the database when accessing a table'. I contacted our basis guy and he increase the table space. After that, the queues were running again. But we asked ourselves, why did this happen? Will this error occur again after a few weeks? How come XI is taking up a lot of space since its only job is to act as a gateway. Why is it storing data? How can we prevent this kind of SYSFAIL from happening again?

the data i guess is usually stores the information reg the message. So if you need to track back and and view the log or status of a old message these tables come to be of help.
I guess you can have the table contents cleared or archive XI messages on a time basis perhaps to ensure the issue doesnt come up again

StarOffice Base - problem connecting to Oracle database

When opening StarOffice 8 Base (just installed on Windows) with "Connect to an existing database" with type "Oracle JDBC", Base could not find the Oracle JDBC driver (class oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver).
Even when I manually copied ojdbc4.jar into C:\Program Files\Sun\StarOffice 8\program\classes, the class has not been found/loaded.
Looks like a bug to me ...

You need to set the StarOffice configuration to include the far file.
Tools > Options > StarOffice > Java
Click on the "Class path.." button.
Then in the class path dialog click on "Add Archive"
Browse to the jar file and select it.
You will need to restart StarOffice for this to take effect.

Basis problem

hi
i have a typical problem in the company
i can release a request ,i can forward the request into the production system
and but i cant import the request into the production system.
There appears a clock symbol in the status bar which later halts the sap-system without any futher actions to perform.
please tel me the TP command to send the request manually.
i request to give me a solution to this probelm

You can use the commands from OS level
>tp addtobuffer <Transport requestNumber> <SID> <Client> pf=<path to parameterfile>
and then
import the request manually
>tp import <Transport request Number> <SID> <Client> UXXX

VC++ dialog base problem

i would like to open outlook express in my dialog-based VC++ program, however I don't know how to set the "To" address externally for Outlook Express. would any expert help me to solve the problem, thx

If Outlook is the default email client on the system, you could use ShellExecute and specify a "mailto" url like MailTo:[email protected]
You can find alot more information about this if you use google.
I don't know if Outlook has a good activex interface, but you might try investigating that route as well.

JButton base problem

Hi All,
I have a primitive /as I known/ problem with the JButton.
I create one, and set the text with this 'Show'. I set the font /eg. Arial/ and it's size to 9.
If I set the required size of the button the text is not shown. /shown only .../
When show the text correctly the width of button is very large for me.
How can I make a button which hase a same width such as the text in it.?

Once you've set the font and text for a button, you can find out its preferred size using getPreferredSize.
Typically buttons will add on padding between the text and the border. This is known as the "margin" and can be changed using setMargin.
You can set the margin for all buttons using UIManager's Button.margin property.

BASIS : Problem starting SAP Server.

Hi,
I have a IDES 4.7. It was working fine for last couple of months.
Now i have got probelm starting the server. below are my observation :
1. The instance should be green in color but currently it is Yellow in color.
2. Process list node contains MSG_SERVER.exe and DISPWORK.exe. MSG_SERVER is green and DISPWORK.exe is yellow in color.
3. DISP+WORK.exe has status "Running but dialoq queue standstill".
4.WP Table has all the work processes are in status : Run & Start : No.
Can somebody please help here.

Base unit of measurement while saving production order

Hi
While saving production order I am getting following problems:
"Material has no base unit of measure"
Whereas UOM is there, I also can see that as soon as I enter qty while creating the order. System automatically prompts the UOM.
I also donot find any problem in MRP run, planned order creation etc
So what can be the problem?

It may be data base problem as you are getting this problem fequently so please check with Basis person.
Have you defined the any production unit in both material master WS view & in routing or any other alternative unit of measurement please check?

Connection Problem

Hi Guru's,
I am new to SDN and my query is with regard to SAP BW / SAP R/3 connection. I checked in rsa1 source system right click and check and that worked fine for r/3 source system. And also checked sm59 in both r/3 and bw and found both the logical systems defined.
Now I started working with LO cockpit customization(lbwe screen). First maintained the extract structure for sales, then went deleted the setup tables and activated the data source. I started filling the setup tables and I get the message no activated extract structures available or no bw connection will be available.i used oli7bw and also tried using stand tcode sbiw for filling setup tables.
I am surprised becoz the extract structures and datasource 2lis_11_vahdr were active and green in colour. I am not able to run the job in job control. I hope i am clear. Pls tell me how to identify the basis problems and report the same to the appropriate persons. Or there is anything wrong from my side.

Symptom
Within an instance, you use the NetWeaver components of SAP ERP and BW.
When you execute transactions like to fill rebuild tables in Logistics, the system issues the termination message M2 630:
No extraction structure active or no BW connected
The connection test and the settings for the Myself source system are definitely correctly maintained.
Other terms
OLTP, extractor, data extraction, DataSource, API service, SAPI, RSA2_SERV_BW_CONNECTED, OLI1BW, OLIZBW, OLI3BW, OLI9BW, 2LIS_XX_XXX, M2630, SBIW, LIS, rebuild
Reason and Prerequisites
The problem is caused by a program error.
Prerequisites:
Within an instance, you are using the NetWeaver components of SAP ERP and BW. Thus, potential data loading processes are executed by using the Myself source system connection.
No other BW system is connected for data as a target system.
Cause:
Prior to NetWeaver, you could not operate ERP and BW in one common system. For this reason, the case that Logistics data need to be loaded into the same system for BW functions was not considered. The system as "source system" does not recognize that the system is connected as a "BW system".
Solution
To correct the problem, you need Service API 7.00 Support Package 08 or PI 2004.1 4.6C Support Package 13 in the affected source system. The attached composite SAP note informs you on which software components contain Service API 7.0 and lists the corresponding Support Packages of these components.
Alternatively, implement the attached program corrections.
In the BW system, you only need to implement the correction if the BW system is affected in its role as a source system for itselt (myself connection) or for another BW system.
Caution: Service API is an internal component. Therfore, it is not delivered separately but as a part of other software components: PI, CRM, PI_BASIS and several others. Thus, a composite SAP note is created for each SAPI correction note. This composite note describes which Support Packages of the above mentioned software components contain the SAPI correction. However, the composite SAP note will only be released when the corresponding SAPI Support Packages are released.

Problem in Printing cheques in Automatic Payment Program

I have configured a APP and I am running a payment program for trial by using transaction F110. The same is running through and creating a cheque print job in the spool. But when I am printing a single cheque the system is taking double printouts. When I am printing multiple cheques the system is taking double printout of the last cheque.
I was told that this is a BASIS problem, but I am not sure of this.
Can you please let me know if it seems to be a BASIS problem and if yes, can anyone give me a resolution to it?

This error comes when you dont have authority to run the job. If this is the case go to SU53. You can find the object for which you are not authorized below "Authorization check failed". Take a screen shot and talk to your Basis for giving you the authority.
For the second possibility Check SM37, select the job status scheduled and then click on execute. It will show all the jobs. Select the particular job and release.
