I read some documentation about BW-BPS in help.sap.com....and understood basic concept....
I want to practice it in my companys internal BI system....Can anyone share the step-by-step of BW-BPS or other documents which can be helpful for practising purpose....

Hi David,
I am facing the same issue. I want to filter out a few of the employee responsible from my determined Territory. If I use the badi of defination CRM_TERRMAN_FILTER my problem of filtering the employees will be solved but I'm facing another challenge. This Badi is called only once when the application is called.
Steps1: CRMD_ORDER transaction and create a transaction. -- Badi is triggered and we can modify the BPs
Step 2: Create another transaction Business Transaction --> Create -- In this scenario the Badi is not called
Now I'm not able to find why the Badi is not called the second time. If i go and do a /NCRMD_ORDER then the Badi is triggered. Please let me know how you tackled this issue.

Display Blocked BPs-Can we see all detailed analyses in a one step process?

Before releasing any BPs blocked by the system our compliance users check the details of the blocks.
Currently it is a 2 step process (after they are in the detailed screen of the Display Blocked Business Partners menu):
1 u2013 Double click on the name of the blocked BPs.
2 u2013 Click on icon u201CDisplay All Detailed Analysesu201D to show detailed analysis of all hits.
Is there any way we can make it a one step process and see all details analysis immediately after selecting the blocked BPs?
SAP Compliance Management -> Sanctioned Party List Screening -> Monitoring -> Business Partner -> Display Blocked Business Partners.

We can go to the SPL BP blocked list from the path you have mentioned. In the list select a line item and at the header there is partner. If you click on that you can see detailed analysis in there. Just click on it and it would be one step for you. But from here you can't release.

can anybody say me how I can learn SEM-BPS/BW BPS in release 3.5
I'm very new and i have no idee what i can learn this.
Is there an ebook or a special page.
Please refer not to a normal book.

I believe that hardly noone can learn a software with the complexity a flexibility of BW-BPS, without a significant investment, both in time and resources. Having work for the previous 7 years in SAP I would say the same about any other SAP product I worked with.
Presentations and elearning may show you glimpses of functionalities but ...learning BPS...forget it.
The best way to learn is by attending an SAP Education course. Still I haven't found an investment with a better ROI.

How to call function module in BPS for step by step execution.??

Hi All,
I used the Exit(function module) in char relation ship for derivation,combination check and proposal defined the source char and target char and function module for Derivation,every thing working fine.But how can i call the function module once i entered the data in my planning layout.Just i need to validate my function module working fine or not???
How can i debug the function modules in BPS ,because we are using the exits in different places,please any one can explain each place how we can do the debug??Where we have to put the break points?? .
Just give the path i can try in my system BPS 4.0 version we are using.
Note:I know how to debug the function module only.but I don't know Using BPS screen's .

BPS- PS Retraction Problems

Hi,
Am using standard FMs UPR_COST_PLAN_INIT and UPR_COST_PLAN_EXEC to retract Primary Cost plan data back to Project Systems.
I have set up a sender structure called UPB_SND_COPS, pointing to receiver structure UPB_RET_COPS. I have two lines in the dictionary structure section: /1SEM/_YS_KYFS_005ZARMPP03 and /1SEM/_YS_CHAS_005ZARMPP03 which relate to my planning area.
QUESTION 1 - do I need to put anything in the offset, field length, field value fields?
I have set up the transfer rules in transaction UPB_RULE. This is where I have the problem. I set up the transfers and ran the retraction and nothing was posted to R/3. When debugging I saw that all of the fields I had set up rules for were blank when sent to R/3.
If I go back and, instead of transfering from the sender to receiver structure, I hard code a value for all the fields in UPB_RULE, then it creates records in R/3.
Has anyone encountered this problem?
Does anyone have any decent documentation on this retractor?

Default Pulldown value is not getting displayed on upper form of Second step of Unifier Workflow

Hi,
I'm new to Unifier and facing one issue while using the PullDown field on Upper. If I use the Pull down field with Default option selected in DataDefination on Upper form of Workflow's first step then it works fine, whereas if I use it on upper form of workflow's second step or any other step apart from first then it doesn't displayed. Please let me know how can i get the default value on upper form of any step.

I assume that you are referring to a brand new field on the second step that was not on the form of the first step. If this is the case, then you should put the field in a hidden block of the first steps form. Default values and Auto-population from shells/single record BPs only occur of the create step, even if they are not used on that step. As long as you put them on the create step (even in a hidden block) they should initialize.

Replication of BPs from CRM to R/3

Hi folks,
I have a task of replicating BPs from CRM to OLTP system. I am new in this area. Can anyone guide me with some kinda step by step documentation, SAP notes. Once I am done with this, I need to replicate the Sales Orders too. Please guide.

Creation of Variable with single values in BPS

Dear All,
I have a very basic requirement in creating variables that would accept single values from the user in BPS.
Could anyone pls provide me the steps in doing so?
I am able to create and use varibles with value ranges but could not find the option to create variables with single values.

How to generate data in BPS via function, not having any reference data?

My approach was to use FM 'API_SEMBPS_SETDATA' but the modified values neighter appear in the layout nor were saved to the infocube after launching 'API_SEMBPS_POST'.

Here my findings from debugging it:
In Step 1 FM reads data from planning level/layout correctly:

1. Write data in buffer only, not in database
2. Write data in buffer and then writes from buffer to database
How can I check or see the data in the buffer? I tried the following: After executing the FM I opened the layout but the numbers are still the same.

Several solutions to this problem. I believe we may have discussed this over the support e-mail, but I'll share it again here so that it can help others as well.
First, as I discussed in the e-mail, Audition defaults to support Pan Law which prevents content mixed to the center of a Stereo field from being louder than the same content panned far left or right. This provides a -3dB drop to center content by default, but you can disable this completely by entering Preferences > Multitrack and setting the Default Panning Mode to Left/Right Cut (Logarithmic)
Now, when you create a new Multitrack session, there is an option to specify the Master channelization. Here, you can select Mono, Stereo, or 5.1 and this will be the default channelization mode for a basic mixdown operation regardless of your clip content, though can be overridden when exporting a session mixdown.
Next, if you just choose the menu item Multitrack > Mixdown Session to New File... it will always default to the Master channelization. This command does not write to disk, it is a preview or pre-processing step. If you wish to export your multitrack session mixdown directly to disk, in your desired channelization and file format, please use the command File > Export > Multitrack Mixdown > Entire Session... You will then have the complete set of output options, including the option to output at any channelization you like and the format you prefer.
Here, I've disabled the default 5.1 output and selected a Mono mixdown instead.
I've now changed the file format settings as well to MP3, 64K.
With most of these configuration details, you should only need to set them once and these will remain the defaults for any subsequent projects, unless modified again. The Export Multitrack Mixdown dialog will reset the Mixdown options to match the default output, and the MP3 settings may update to reflect the kBps setting nearest your session sample rate.

PS Retraction from BPS

Hi All,
I am using the UPB_CI_PUSHBACK_PR function module to retract data to Project Systems. The goal is to move the PLAN data from BPS by WBS into PS transaction CJ40.
I have followed the guidance of the well written 'BPS Retraction for Cost Cener Accounting' web log. I am still struggling to find clarity on how to implement this functinality succesfully.
I have followed step by step the guidance mentioned above. The function in BPS runs successfully but there are no values posted in R/3. Following are the messages I receive in BPS when I execute the function:
Posting in R/3 takes place as Plan
1 data records were read, 0 of them were changed, 0 generated
My planning level contains the following Info objects:
Controlling area = D50
Currency = USD
Fiscal year = 2007
Fiscal Year Variant = k4
Version = 500
and my parameter group contains the following values:
Post Budget = space
Returns a. Splmts = space
Retr. R/3 Comp. = 9
Retractor Control = 4
