BW - Delta for Master data not loading

Hello All,
I am not able to load delta for master data of vendor and material.
The initial load works fine but when I load delta it gives an error
" The extraction program does not support object 0vendor"
" ALE change pointers are not set up correctly"
Do i need to activate the change pointer in BD61. I was not sure so checking up with all experts.

Hi Ravi,
We faced the same problem as you for 0MATERIAL_ATTR and we solved it by the following steps,
1. Delete the previous Delta Init for the InfoObject
If you have access to R/3 Side you can follow the steps or you can follow the BW Steps
Goto RSA7 ->Select and Delete the Init for the InfoObject
From BW Side
InfoPackage-> Inti for Source System -> Select & Delete
2. Execute the Init InfoPackage for the InfoPackage again.
3. After successful completion, execute the delta InfoPackage.
We have have got resolved by doing these steps and it may help for your problem as well.

Generic delta for master data

Hi All,
I am trying to create a generic delta for master data "equipment" . table in SASP is "EQUI". I am choosing ALE delta . in that I have to provide table name and "changed doc object' . when I give "equi" as table name and "aedat" (changed on ) as "changed doc object' -
it is throwing error.
also when I tried for time satmp /calday delta , the delta doesnot work when changeed are done. don't know why?
Any idea what has to be given in these fields.

Hello,
TCDOB is a table where you need to maintain entries for Generic Detla.
Please goto SE16 : enter table name TCDOB
In the selection Screen Enter Object as EQUI and check the Number Of Entries..
I guess you need to maintain the number of fields on which the change is dependent for Detla ()
I treid creating the same Datasource Using Ale Detla
It worked and saved without errors :
i have the following entries in TCDOB table
OBJECT          TABNAME
EQUI            EQKT
EQUI            EQUI
EQUI            EQUZ
EQUI            FLEET
EQUI            ILOA
Please tell me your count and entries..
so that we can discuss this Further
Also if you find if there are no entries then you can Go to SCDO tcode and maintain entries with respect to change object.

Deltas for master data

Hi,
Will you please let me know the proceedure for master data delta set up.is it something, after init the delata gets activated automatically or do we need to set it in r/3 side(Where checking the check box ('delta enable')for a data source or is it something there are some specific data sources which will support delta.
Please let me know the proceedure for this, or if you have any docs or links please give me those.

Managing Delta for Master Data

Hi Experts,
I'm facing a strange issue I would like to share with you.
I'm loading Master Data with DBConnect. The Delta is generated from a non-SAP source system and stored into my PSA.
My DTPs between Datasources and MD are in 'Delta' mode. Therefore, when refreshing, we should load only the new PSA Request containing the delta records... but it's not working everytime.
For some objects, it loads all PSA (ones already loaded + New delta request). I can't identify why, since it works for some other records without any problem.
I'm in SPS13.
If you have an idea, I would be quite gratefull.

Need more Info about "Load transactional data when master data not loaded"

Hi,
Can you please explain me this option in the infopackage " Load transactional data when master data is not loaded"....
Say i load a transactional data record which has a material no. AAAXX.
In the fact table, the material no. is replaced with the corresp. DIM ID.
Now, assume that there is no entry for this Material no.
AAAXX in the master data table...so no DIM ID for it..
How is it then stored in the fact table ?
Hope i have managed to explain the scenario..

No, if the entry for that Material Number "AAAXX" is not there in the Master Data then it will create a SIDs & DIMs ID for that & Transaction Data will be loaded.
Use
Choose this indicator if you want to always update the data, even if no master data for the navigation attributes of the loaded records exists. The master data is generated from the loaded transaction data. The system draws SIDs. You can subsequently load the master data.
Dependencies
The texts, attributes, and hierarchies are not recognized by the system. Load the texts / attributes / hierarchies for the corresponding InfoObjects separately.
This function corresponds to the update. Possible errors when reading the master data into the update rules are not associated with this indicator.
Recommendation
We recommended loading the master data into the productive systems in advance. Select this indicator especially in test systems.

Request Status for Master Data Attributes Load

Dear All,
We are trying to load attribute master data and volume of which is relatively huge around 10,000 records.
We are facing challenge while updating attribute data from master data info object , the load status remains in yellow status and when we went to details screen it states that data is transfered to transfer rule . ( it has been loaded successfully in to PSA).
Could anybody please give some hint on this challenge ??

You are right, as number of records are more , i have chosen update of "Only PSA" and then "Subsequently in Data Targets".
I tried other option also which is infopackage schedule "Execute in Back ground" and
"Request batch process runs untill all data is updated in BW". And process went in to infinite loop.
Some how i am not able to track out why the request status is not changing .

Generic delta for master data table MEAN

Hello all,
How should the settings for my generic data source look?
It's masterdata attributes and I'd like it to be delta compatible. The basis for the data source is table MEAN in R/3.
Could someone please specify the settings that should be applied in SBIW (Should for example a numeric pointer be used or is the date better for handling of the delta queue? How should the security ranges be set etc.?)?

Change form Mode as Add for master data while Loading

I have a master data form(user form). By default it will load and shows Find mode but i dont want find mode i want add mode after loading
plz suggest me a good idea..

After the form is loaded in the load event, change the form mode.

Actually first we should load data to Master data table and then to Transaction load data.By this reporting performance will be good.Right?
Actually this will decrease the time of transaction data loading .So it improves the loading performance , not reporting performance.
Now I got a doubt from where this Master Data is been loading? and how to load this data.
2LIS_11_VAITM and 2LIS_11_VASCL are the DS for Transaction data , not for master data.To load the master data, first of all find out the master bearing characterstics in the data target.And then search for teh DS of master data in R/3 with tcode RSA6 .You will use characterstic(info object) as the search option here.
For example 0materail is the Master characterstic.
And you can see the DS for this Characterstic in RSA6(if it is not there, you have activate it from RSA5)

Master Data daily Load Process Chain Error..

Hi All,
I have a process chain which is used to extract master data for 6 infoobjects ,all the Attribute data is delta and all the Text Data is full , now my proess chain suddenly failed on 9/09/2010 and from that day even when i try 'Repeat' the Start process is fine but the next process starts and then goes to 'RED' when i checked the error i saw the error message as 'Requesting the last delta for master data is not supported' . Can anyone help me with how to rectify this process chain when i check the IDocs i am seeing a error 'Code page not found' and also an error 'Update mode R is not supported by the extraction API'
Can someone help please ...

Make sure your last delta was sussessfull or not?
If not change the status of the failed load to red and try to reinti the load.
This problem occurs when we tried to request repeat delta for master data extractors, For Master data datasources delta updated based on ALE Change pointers. So Repeat can't be done if any delta load ended with error.
YOu need to reinitalize.

About delta loading for master data attribute

Hi all,
We have a master data attribute loading failed which is a delta loading. I have to fix this problem but I have two questions:
1. how can I find the those delta requests because I need to delete all these failed requests first, am I right ? Master data is not like cube or ods that we can find the requests in Manage, for master data how can we find them ?
2. Could you please let me know the detailed procedures to perform this delta loading again ?

Look.....for master data.....no need to delete request from the target..........just make the status red.......and repeat the load.....But problem is that master data sometimes does'nt support Repeat delta..........if u repeat......then load will again fail with Update mode R.........in that case u hav to do re-init.......
1) delete the init flag.......(In the IP scheduler >> in the top Scheduler tab >> Initialization option for source system)
2) Init with data transfer(if failed load picks some records)..........otherwise .....init without data transfer.....if the last delta failed picking 0 records.......
3) then Delta.......

Are u deleting the indexes of data target before delta loading ? If not,delete the indexes of data target before delta loading and recreate them after delta loading is done.This procedure increase load performance.You can perform whole procedure in process chain.

Hi CM,
yes you can perform the repeat delta even for the master data if the datasource which was supplying the data was delta capable.
You can do the repeat delta only in case if your previous request was erroneous and dont forget to make the request red in the status,so that system will treat like you are requesting the failed request once again where in case you will miss the previous request, i,e erroneous request if you dont make the request red.
when you make the request red manually in the status,the pointer will move to the previous request once again in the delta queue and there will be no chance of missing the delta records.
This process was same for both transaction as well as master data.

I have Order number (ZONDRNO)for this we are loading the Master data form BW to BW full load.
This Order number is Generi Data source

Hi,
Firstly you are stating that you are loading from BW to BW. How are you doing it ? Are you doing through a datamart ?
Secondly you have also told that you have created a generic datasource so from this we can deduce that you are not doing a datamart load but you are doing through a datasource.
Thirdly to achieve delta for a generic datasource you should make sure that the datasource in question here is delta enabled.
Once all these are done all you need to do is a delta init and schedule further delta loads.

When to set delta index flag for master data?

In transaction RSDDBIAMON2 option "Set Delta Flag" shows:

When should I check the "Delta Index" column for fact, dimension, and master tables? I believe I need to check fact and dimension tables for delta BIA to occur during roll up so users can see the newly loaded requests but I am uncertain on when and why I should check this box for master data.

Thanks for answering another of my question. Yes, we load master data a couple of times a day so based on your answer, I should also check box "Delta Index" for the master tables as well. Thanks for helping me understand this point.
If the below is our approach, #2 should be checked for all tables, correct?
1) Create/fill BIA index for cube "A"
2) Check the box "Delta Index" for all the tables which includes fact, dimension, and master tables for cube "A" .
3) Run process chain to roll up cube "A" daily
4) Run process chain to merge cube "A" weekly
