BW/HR Authorizations - no authority for a characteristic

I have followed the instructions in the document 'BW/HR Authorization - ASAP for BW Accelerator' to set up some BW HR authorization.  However, when I execute my query I get the warning message below:
You have no authority for a characteristic value from characteristic 0EMPLOYEE
Message no. BRAIN818
Diagnosis
The system determined the authorized characteristic values for the characteristic 0EMPLOYEE. In doing so, it was determined that you do not have authorization for any characteristic values.
System response
If this situation occurs when filling a variable, then the query cannot be executed.
Procedure
For the characteristic 0EMPLOYEE, you have to have authorization for an least one characteristic value. Specify authorizations for users for the following authorization objects: ZBW_HR
If you only have authorization for such evaluations for aggregations (with ":" authorizations) using the characteristic 0EMPLOYEE, then you use a query without this characteristic. If the characteristic is used neither in the filter nor in the drilldown, then no variable needs to be used.

Hi,
From the error message, its saying that you don't have authorizations for the characteristics values. Try to access the data at the cube or ODS level using LISTCUBE for the same selection criteria that you are giving in the reports.Once you get the error message, use tcode SU53 to see what authorization object and values it recommends. That should give you a clue.
Also try giving values or ranges for the ZBW_HR auth object and see if that works out even though the document says that you shouldn't have to enter any values.
Cheers,
Kedar

Please help me in resolving this proble.
    Thanks

    Ram,
Try running ST01, set an authorization trace and then run your specified transaction code.
After the failure return to ST01, turn off the trace and hit Analyze. Then check analyze authorization trace and give your User ID and any other relevant criteria.
Look for return codes on the left which are not 0, these should indicate possible issues with authorizations.
    Regards
    Ashley

  • I go to sync my phone and it says,"The iphone could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iphone". When I go to authorize it says it's already authorized.

Getting frustarted with itunes. I had to recently do a hard reboot ny iphone and attempted to sync my phone to get m apps back. When I go to sync my phone and it says,"The iphone could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iphone". When I go to authorize it says it's already authorized. Help!!!!

I first called apple and they patched me to a technician who ran a test and determined that I had a virus. He gave me some price quotes and who to call. After my conversation with him, which I knew was BS btw, I immediatley called Geek Squad with whom my computer has a warranty through after they installed virus software on my new laptop (4 months old). I had a VERY long online session where they ran several virus test and found nothing. Although I was VERY happy that my computer didn't have a virus, I still had the problem of my itunes not working. After several hours, he made sure that all of my apps were down loaded, and then restored my iphone to factory settings, and sync my device. It worked perfectly and all and I mean ALL 240 apps were downloaded back onto my iphone along with my music and all of my tones. When asked why my itunes was acting in that manner the answer that I got was,"...apparently you had a correct file some where in itunes and everything had to be reset". Regardless, everything is back to normal and I don't have to get a new phone or delete itunes from my computer. Hope this helps!

  • I'm getting this error message  "This computer is no longer authorized to play purchased items that are on the iPod '___'s iPod.' Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store?" I have authorized the computer.

I just purchased songs on itunes, I can play them on my windows 7, but when I try to sync the ipod, I get the error "This computer is no longer authorized to play purchased items on "Stephanie's ipod" Would you like to authorize this computer for purchases from the itunes store.  When I authorize it, it says it is already authorized. Then the process starts all over again. Help.

You can't change the Apple ID that the Authorize dialog comes up with by default. It's showing you that Apple ID for a reason: it means that the items you want to play were purchased using that Apple ID and therefore you need to authorize your computer with that Apple ID. Changing the Apple ID given completely defeats the entire purpose.
If you don't know the password to the given Apple ID, then you will no longer be able to play those items.

  • This computer is no longer authorized to play purchased items that are on the iPhone. Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store?

My itunes on my iMac for the passed few weeks now keeps on comming with the message "This computer is no longer authorized to play purchased items that are on the iPhone. Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store?"
or "This computer is no longer authorized to play purchased items that are on the iPad. Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store?"
This while everything was working fine.
Please advise what I can do with this message.
When I press autorize, it comes up with a unknow appleID. When I use apple ID's that work - it comes with the message that the computer is autorized. but then the autorization message comes back.

When i attempt to sync my iphone it continues to say this computer is no longer authorized for apps and they will be deleted?? I don't understand?? I put my password and authorize but same message comes up.  What to do??

  • HT1386 Hello, When trying to sync, I get the following message.  This computer is no longer authorized for apps that are installed on the iPhone "Terri George's iPhone". Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store?

while trying to sync with my iphone I recieve the message: This computer is no longer authorized for apps that are installed on the iPhone “Terri George’s iPhone”. Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store?  When I put in my password and hit authorize, I get a message telling me there was an unknown error (-50).  Would love to sync today.  Any help would be appreciated.

The -50 error is documented in this article:
iTunes: Specific update-and-restore error messages and advanced troubleshooting
    Here is a synopsis:
    Error 13, 14, 35 and 50 (or -50)
These errors are typically resolved by performing one or more of the steps listed below:
Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting.
Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
    Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
    Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.

  • When I try to authorize my computer for the Ipad, Itunes tells me that I have authorized 5 computers already. Today I have De-authorized ALL and I still get this message. I don't know what to do next.

I de-authorized ALL, but when I plug my ipad in and try to back it up, Itunes tells me that my account has been used on too many computers. This is the only apple device that does that. I have several (phones, touch, etc). Because of this I tunes tells me that I will loose all content on the I pad as well as apps. Why is this happening. Apple has some of the least helpful tech support of any computer oriented company I have ever used. Why I should have to pay for this poor service, I am uncertain. I seems like I can just upgrade the OS to 7 but I would rather not loose the content or have to write eveything down that is on it now just to reload it all after. Maybe I am reading this all wrong. Please let me know.

Not it. Thanks. I tried it, so thanks for the tip, but I get the same error message. That I need to authorize this computer to get the purchases. I guess it's not really an error message. But It will not let me proceed any further. Once again I have deauthorized and this is the only computer that is authorized for this account.
    Then
    Then and last
    Pretty annoying. Any ideas?

    Hey Mohamed Akhtar,
Thanks for the question. To troubleshoot this issue, you may want to try deauthorizing all computers:
iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420
To deauthorize all computers associated with your Apple ID
If you need to authorize your new computer and are unable due to already having five authorized computers, you can deauthorize all computers by doing the following:
    1. Click iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.
    2. If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
    3. Click the Account button again (your Apple ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
    4. In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.
Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than two authorized computers. If you need assistance on using this feature, please contact iTunes Store support via email (http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/).
If you continue to have issues, you may want to see the steps in this article:
