BW integration with workflow

Hai all,
I am working on a project where we need to get data from R/3 workflow to BW system. I am sorry but I know nothing about workflow. How can we extract data from workflow? Is it possible to use LO cockpit for that or do we need to use any other kinds of extraction methologies?
I appreciate any kind of help or documentation references.
Thank you.

There is no Business Content for WF-extraction currently available, so you will have to work with generic extractors. Generic extractors are not part of the LO-Cockpit.

    Hi Dorian
The existing document management feature in Workflow is reserved for future use. If you want to use iFS and Oracle Workflow together, there is a technical whitepaper available on OTN. Navigate OTN:Products:Oracle Internet File System->Technical Information.

  • SAP Workflow integrated with Microsoft Outlook

    Hello All,
I have the following question. When an work item comes in the SBWP inbox, as soon as the work item is executed by the user
the workitem disappears from the SBWP. Now my question is if SAP Workflow is integrated with Microsoft Outlook (so that email containing the work item as a link reaches Outlook), is there a way to make the email disappear from the Outlook as soon as the SAP work item is completed.
Can someone throw some light on the same.
    Thanks,
    Sachin

    Hi,
Duet workflow scenario is available. SAP Application sends workitem to Duet Server and Outlook client has Duet add-in. You need Duet Server and user license.
Also SAP MAPI Service Provider is available. You can access SAP Inbox items from your outlook client. I think SAP MAPI Service provider is free.

The are a lot of differences in what the Documentum does as compared to
Interwoven Teamsite. Comparing these items is like comparing apples and
    oranges.
Normally in Teamsite, during the document capture process, a Teamsite
    user
categorizes documents by specifying the documents' metadata attributes
    using
Teamsite templates. Once the documents are captured, the Interwoven
    OpenDeploy
workflow mechanism is used to publish the content to the WLCS database.
Unlike Interwoven Teamsite, Documentum products manage the metadata and
documents in their own repositories. Thus, with this integration, WLCS
    queries
the Documentum system at runtime via a specialized JDBC driver supplied
    by
Documentum. Once the Documentum user captures a document and tags it
    with
metadata attributes, the document may be immediately available to WLCS
(depending on administrative options in Documentum, such as whether
    staging is
    involved).
Please contact your sales person for a more detailed overview of what
    these two
products do and how they interface to WLPS.

  • Forte integration with LDAP

    Hi.
Has anyone successfully integrated with LDAP using the C library from
    LDAP SDK?
Currently I'm facing a problem when I tried to generate the C++ wrapper
for the C library. The compiler is unable to resolved the data type of
some data structs. This is because the definition for these structs are
not defined in any of the include files provided. According to the LDAP

intended to be accessible to the clients.
That is why in my wrapper project, I defined these struct, each has the

    Hi Anoop,
To adapt an SAP Workflow, you can create a configuration. In this configuration you can redefine values for steps of the workflow definition. These values are evaluated at runtime instead of the values originally defined.
You can configure the following step types:
    Activity
    User decision
    Document from template
    Wait
    Moreover,Features
You can set the following data individually in the step definition of the configurable step types:
    1)Responsible agents
    2)Excluded agents
    3)Message recipient for completion
    4)Priority
    5)Requested start

  • Integration with IP and other 3rd party procurement apps

I don't know about the rest of you, but one of the primary hurdles that we have to get past with target customers is that most of the big ones already have procurement systems that produce POs. Ideally, they'd like to post those POs as either an RFQ/Auction or directly as a PO for a particular supplier. This is particularly true for big manufacturers who initially want to bring their OEM suppliers and contract manufacturers into an on-line procurement environment and then expand that to auctions and RFQs later. The scenario refers primarily to those trading partners that do not have their own back-end systems and EAI solutions.
We think we have come up with a workaround by taking the EDI produced out of the buyer's system into our Hub, transforming it into our cannonical form, then turning the data into an OEX OAG XML auction document, uploading it through a dummy account for that buyer, once the bid is placed by the supplier, automatically accepting, and generating a final PO as a PO Akn back to the buyer's system. It is a little hokey, but it is the best we've been able come up with. (Of course, once the PO message from the buyer's system is sent, the buyer wants nothing to do with it after that. They just want to receive a PO Akn back).
    Any ideas?

    David,
It sounds like you are hitting on two of our critical issues. Specifically, our issues are the following:
    1. We have customers with existing procurement systems containing requisitioning/workflow/approval functionality. They want to continue using this functionality while using our Exchange for sourcing/bidding/tabulation/etc. This gives us the requirement for integration to these procurement systems (iP, SAP, Peoplesoft, etc). We need the ability to load to the Exchange all the parameters for an Auction (open date, close date, type of auction, etc), line items, and potentially even suppliers. We envision that this document load generated from the requisition system could even be flagged to open the auction immediately without the buyer ever having to go to the Exchange. The buyer would then go to the Exchange to see bids and to do the award process. Once the bid was awarded, this would generate a document back to the requisition system for issuance of a PO by the procurement system.
Our second issue is the ability to simply issue a manual PO. This could be done within the Exchange and/or a procurement system. Right now we are missing significant transaction volume due to the inability for a buyer to go issue a direct PO to a vendor on the Exchange without going through the auction or catalog process. If the goods the buyer wants to buy are under their threshold for required bidding and are not in the catalog, they go around the Exchange with a paper PO. This eliminates all the benefits of integration and our chance to charge for this transaction
Both of these issues are extremely critical for us. Dee, what can you tell us about the integration capabilities with procurement/requisition systems or the manual PO functionality? We have heard multiple conflicting reports about the availability of integration with iP.
    Thanks!

  • SPM integration with CUP 5.3

All the issues regarding SPM integration with CUP is resolved, with the exception of one which is mentioned below:
Any user can go and raise a request for the FF ID from CUP Super User Access workflow, and are created in the backend, but they do not get the access to FF ID when trying to Login.
My query: is there any means to capture the user detail much in advance while the request is processed in the workflow and reject the request before it could be created and stored in backend.
Ideally The user not having minimum privilege of u201C/VIRSA/Z_VFAT_FIREFIGHTERu201D should not Login with the FF ID, which is met here, but this is checked only after the user get the access to FF ID and try to LOG into FF ID using his Login detail.
Please put some clarity on this.
    Thanks,
    Abhimanu Singh

    Hi Sabita,
Thanks for the reply but this do not answer my question. Let me come in detail on this topic:
    SAP Backend:
We have FF ID Owner, FF ID Controller, FF ID and Firefighters in the Backend.
FF ID owner has the minimun role required for becoimng the owner is /VIRSA/Z_VFAT_ID_OWNER.
FF ID Controller created with the minimum role /VIRSA/Z_VFAT_ID_OWNER for the monitoring purpose of all the reports.
FF ID is defined with the defined task in the role being assigned to it.
Firefighter is created with the minimum role /VIRSA/Z_VFAT_FIREFIGHTER to get the access to FF ID for the limited period as defined by the FF ID Owner.
    For example:
FF ID Owner: User ID is FFO
FF ID Controller: User ID is FFC
FF ID: User ID is FID
    Firefighter: User ID is FFS
    Now the Question is from
    SAP Frontend Java stack
I can see that the users(other than FFS) who are not defined as firefighter in the backend can still go and put a request for the FF ID access and gets provisioned.
When you go and check in the backend with the firefighter Owner ID/FF Administrator ID you can see the requested user listed there with the limited time period in the firefighter list.
Now comes the real picture: when this user(other than FFS) tries to login using his user ID he will not get the FF ID Login link on the page which is ideally correct. This is because any user not defined as firefighter in the backend with the minimum role /VIRSA/Z_VFAT_FIREFIGHTER should not get the access to FF ID.
    My question comes here:
Is there any option in the frontend which could inform the user (other than FFS) much in advance and stop him requesting for the FF ID which has no meaning since it is finally not going to get the access in the backend to the FF ID.
Please get back to me if you require some more information.
    Thanks,
    Abhimanu Singh

    14. Once my photos look the way I want, I then export them to JPEG. I have set up a Photoshop droplet for Lightroom that will then do all my sharpening after export.
That's it! I know it sounds like a lot of steps, but once you've done it a couple of times it goes by really quick. I'm really loving most things about Lightroom in terms of its cataloging and export options. But the image quality of the Lightroom raw conversions just isn't there yet. I've found by integrating both Capture NX and Lightroom I can get top quality results while still gaining advantage of Lightroom's many nice features. It took me a few days of exploration and experimentation to nail down the optimal workflow for my needs. Hopefully this will help some others out and maybe give them some ideas of their own toward a better workflow.
Please feel free to share your thoughts or own experience on all of this.
Thanks to Tony Long for his suggestion in this thread, which caused me to go on a search for the optimal Lightroom/Capture workflow: http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?7@@.3bc719df/3

  • Integration IFS-Workflow

    Hi
I'm trying to implement the workflow-ifs integration sample described in the following Oracle Technical White Paper :
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/ifs/htdocs/workflow/workflow.html
I created an IFS Agent based on the "IfsServer" class
It's working fine, I'm now able to write something in the log file when defined operations are made on IFS documents.
I'm now trying to initiate a Workflow process instead of writing in the log file.
The sample code given in the technical white paper uses methods (to exexute SQL statements) of the "S_LibrarySession" class
like "prepareStatement" or "prepareCall" that are not available from the "LibrarySession" class.
Unfortunately, the "GetSession()" method of "IfsServer" class return a "LibrarySession" object (and not S_LibrarySession)
Does anybody success in implementing that sample ?
Does somebody have a suggestion ?
    Thanks for your help,
    Nicols
