BW Objects storage location

Hi All,
I would like to know where extactly the objects created in BW (like ODS, CUBE, Info Objects,..) will store, means these tables will belongs to which part of the Database, how to know the location of these tables in the database.

Dear All,
My client wants that certain type of material i.e. SFG should not be GR Mvt. type 101 at the FG storage location, they want to restrict to some user ID .
Is there any authorization object or the enhancement to control all three parameter to restrict to particular USER ID?

Go to SPRO > MM > Inventory Management and Physical Inventory > Authorization Management > Authorization Check for Storage Locations > Here activate the authorization for storage location under plant
And use authorization object as "M_MSEG_LGO"
Note: - In this step, you activate storage location authorization for individual storage locations.
Storage location authorization means that a user has to have authorization for authorization object M_MSEG_LGO in order to enter a goods movement in the storage location, using a particular movement type. In the list of material documents, only the document items for which the user has a display authorization are displayed.

Creation of PO only for one particular storage location

Hi Friends
One of my material is extended to four storage location within a plant say S001 S002 S003 and S004 but here requirment is at the time of raising PO for this material,system should always propose only one particular storage location say S001. Is this possible

system will never propose particular storage location based on material.
May be u can add particular storage location in personal setting so that for all PO it will be picked as default storage location.
system will propose storage location at the time of GR based on storage location maintained in Material master
Or
you can use the authorisation object M_MSEG_LGO. To restrict users from using storage location other than which they have authorised for

how can i add STORAGE LOCATION field which is not in the standard tables namely
KOMP, KOMK, and KOMG.
how to include it in our FIELDS FROM FIELD CATALOGUE.
if we include this field is there any impact on the standard tables.

we are selling our products in two ways
(1). one is straight from factory ie direct sales from factory
if customer asks for excise invoice then we will sell thru factory and keeping freight in mind we will
deliver him which ever is economical either rail or road.
before coming to second case of selling the goods
we will do STOCK TRANSPORT ORDER from plant to different storage locations.
if we did STO thru road we have to sell the goods thru road only.
if we did STO thru rail we have to sell the goods thru rail route only.
(2). if the customer is not asking any excise invoice then we will send the goods thru depo/storage
location which is not registered under excise.
if the goods came by road then it will be delivered by road only.
if the goods came by rail then it will be delivered by rail only.
my logic here is
basing on the
storage location, transportation types, and distance i want to create condition record
that captures exact frieght at the sales order level.
confirm whether i am right or wrong.

Hi,
It is not recommended to add new fields to any SAP standard tables. It disturbs the whole SAP functionality.
But if you have no choice expcept to change the standard tables to meet your requirement - then you need an access key to modify the object, which is available from the market place.
Nevertheless, the better option is to create a 'Z' table with the required fields and use that accordingly.
Changing standard tables will have serious impact when you apply patches or do an upgrade on the existing functionality.

Storage Location check during 101

Hi folks,
I am facing a problem and need ur help...
Though this is a security related issues but it requires Functional help...
A user who does not have authorization for Storage Location ABC (M_MSEG_LGO) is executing MIGO and is being able to do GR(101) against STPO for ABC...
The system trace shows that only 2 objects are getting checked viz M_MSEG_BWE (Goods Receipt for Purchase Order: Movement Type) and M_MSEG_WWE (Goods Receipt for Purchase Order: Plant). There is no check for Storage Location in Purchase Order...
The S Loc is defined in the PO and during MIGO it is getting picked from there..
How can i restrict this guy from posting 101 for ABC??...
Pls help before i am thrown out...
PS: The Storage Location authorization (M_MSEG_LGO) is available to the user BUT for a different location. Also the storage location ABC is authorization relevant in SPRO...

hi sachin,
pls check the user roles defined. From what you have written, it seems that the object M_MSEG_LGO is getting bypassed for some reason. Pls check all the other roles that this particular user is assigned to. And pls don't worry. There's no way you are going to be thrown out with so many experts around to help you out with a solution. I'm sure everyone will echo my view. Be patient and check out the roles. Revert back.

User Authorisation - storage location

we have three storeage location under one plant, can we restrict user to access only on UM1 storage location not to access balance two storage location.
Plant :    X70
Storage Location : UM1
                                UN1
                                UN2
Is it possibile to create a role only on storage location, please advice.

Restriction on movement type,storage location on USER ID

Dear Guru's,
I have to restrict movement type 311 on some storage location for some user ID.Following is already done but not able to restrict the movement of material on other storage location rather than defined:
1) Maintained authorization objet M_MSEG_LGO with two storage location ST01,ST02 and movement type 311.
2) Using BADI MB_MIGO_BADI and maintained Z table with USERID,Mvt type 311,storage location ST01,ST02.
Still we are able to do Mvt 311 on other that defined locations in authorization objet M_MSEG_LGO and Z table....
Kindly give ur valuable suggestion to resolve the issue......

For your requirement only I have suggested to create multiple role. In one Role you specify SLOC & MOvt type(only 311) in auth object M_MSEG_LGO & M_MSEG_BWE for slocs where you want 311 movt. In other Roles of goods movt you also specify other SLOCs & all other movt except 311. I mean in the other Role you cant keep the movt type as * in auth object M_MSEG_BWE.
So its a combination of SLOC & MVT tye. Try & give feedback

Authorization Control for Transfer Posting's Storage Location

Dear Gurus,
Hi ! May I know is that SAP has any Authorization Object to control Transfer Posting (SAP R3 4.0B) ?
Let say in MB1B I only allow certain user to do transfer posting with P230 storage location, how should I control it ? With Authorization Profile?
I had tried remove all storage location P230 authorization M_MSEG_LGO from those user who are not allow to use, but sad to say that most of the user who allow to use transaction MB1B also able to do good receipt or transfer posting with storage location P230.
I had check those user's profile, actually in their authorization, there could not get P230 in their M_MSEG_LGO authorization object.

I had assign the storage location P230 to the authorize users, but the problem now was those unauthorized users also can use the storage location P230 to do Transfer Posting (MB1B) although I did not assign to them in PFCG.

Archiving material master - storage location

Hi experts,
I am in process of archiving storage locations of few material codes which are split valuated.
Actually material/s are extended to 3-4 storage location and one storage location has to be removed from the same.
i am using transaction code SARA with archiving object MM_MATNR and getting following error -
plant/storage location dependent batch records exist.
please suggest how to correct the error
relevant solution will suitably be rewarded please.

I had not spoken about the tick for delete in test mode in the selection screen.
I spoke about the variants for test and production run in customizing to your archiving object.
If the variant that is saved for production run, has the tick for test run, then it just will not work.
Further you should select X Complete for Detail log and list for P_PROT_O,
This way you should get spool file that tells you more about errors or succesfull archived items.
What did you do with the box in from of "Consider batch record without deletion flag" ?
If empty, are you sure you have manually set the deletion indicator in MSC2N?
What about the other boxes in this options section?

Specify Storage location in Movement type 311 - Migo

Dear All
we have 3 plants 1000 , 2000 , 3000 , every plant have many storage location as the following :
plant 1000 ( A01 , A02 , A03 )
plant 20000 ( B01 , B02 , B03 )
plant 1000 ( C01 , C02 , C03 )
i have on user "XX" access only plant 1000 ( A01 , A03 ) for some movement type (101 - 161 - 261 ) , also he used movement type ( 301 - 311 - 313 -315 ) to transfer from his storage location A01 , A03 to other storage location B01 , B02 , B03
when we add transaction MIGO to the user XX
how can i specify that user can only transfer to storage location B01 , B02 , B03 without access any movement to the storage location B01 , B02 , B03 .

You may maintain the authorization check for storage location in the path: OLMB - Authorization Management - Authorization Check for Storage Locations. Now, use the authorization object M_MSEG_LGO to restrict the usage based on user role. Refer the KBA: 1668678 - No authorization check for storage locations in inventory management
But if you are using one step procedure for stock transfer (301), then the user should have authorization for both plants to transfer the goods. If you want to restrict the same, you may go for two step procedure. But in case of 311 & 313, both the storage locations are entered in MB1B and hence both the storage locations are checked for authorization. Refer the note: 205448 - Authorization check M_MSEG_LGO for stock transfers

Storage Location Authorizations

Dear Gurus
We have recently implemented SAP in our Organization and have activated Storage Locations' authorizations. Our requirement is to limit the authorization to issue and receive material from individual storage locations but at the same time the users should be allowed to dispatch material for other storage locations (through 2 step transfer posting by posting "Remove from Storage" transactions). The problem is that at present the users are not able to select Destination Storage locations (in 2 step transfer posting - remove from storage) which are not authorized to them. On the contrary authorizing them for those Storage locations will authorize them to issue / receive material in other's storage locations.
I will appreciate if any of you may guide how to resolve this problem.

Hello Ahsan,
Addition in SU22 in not for introducing authorization checks. It is misconception. All it does is the following:
For example you add auth object X for as transaction Y in Su22/SU24 . Now if you add transaction Y to a role in PFCG then authorization object X will be added by default in the role. For standard transactions SAP has maintained Su22/SU24 customizing on basis of ABAP code so that whenever you add a transaction to a role its correspnding authorization checks are added automatically to a role and you dont to take pains of finding them out. In case of custom built transactions also you can follow the approach used by SAP. SU22/SU24 is for easing role adminsitration ands not introducing authority checks !!

MRP requirements (material = "no dispo", storage location deleted)

Good morning,
I have two different problems and hopefully, you can help me.
- I see stock information in MMBE for a storage location I deleted
- MD04 shows requirements for this storage location after it was deleted and the material was set to "no dispo"
How can this be?
I remember a report from SAP, which clear all wrong requirements for a material, but I did not find it. Anyone remeber the report??

If by saying "I deleted the S/L" you mean that you deleted that entity in customization, this is a NONO practice. By deleting it from customization you are not deleting all the database references that exist in many objects (tables) as well, and this leads to inconsistencies that in some cases are not manageable.
I suggest that you you recreate the S/L, name it something like "DELETED-DO NOT USE", and gradually make sure that all references (like in your example stock, requirements, etc.) are gone.

One SO but I would like Post Goods Issue from different Storage Locations?

Pls help me solve this issue below:
I have one SO, Item xzy, Qty = 300 but I would like to Post Goods Issue from different Storage Locations (Qty = 100 for each locations)
E.g I have 3 storage locations: A, B, C and need to assign Post Goods Issue authorizations to 3 users U1, U2, U3:
- U1 can Post Goods Issue from storage location A only (but cannot from B, C)
- U2 can Post Goods Issue from storage location B only (but cannot from A, C)
- U3 can Post Goods Issue from storage location C only (but cannot from A, B)
How can I assign the Authorization for users?
How can I create Outbound Delivery:
a. 1 SO --> 1 outbound delivery --> Post GI 3 times
b. 1 SO --> 3 outbound delivery --> Post GI

1. GO to the following Menu path
Spro>Material Management> Inventory manangement and Physical Inventory>Authorization Management>Authorization check for Storage Location.
Here you have activate authorization tick for storage location and plant combination.
--> Done
2. Set authorization for Authorization object MM_MSEG_LGO thro Basis for the combination of movement type and storage location
for each user.
--> Done
There are 3 storage locations(A,B,C) in one outbound delivery, and when user 01 tries to Post GI this outbound, it means that the system will Post GI for all line items in this outbound, but user 01 has not authorization for location B, C.
How can user 01 Post GI from only location A in this outbound???
And then user 02 will Post GI from only location B in this outbound,
user 03 will Post GI from only location C in this outbound.

Purchase Requisition Authorization based on Storage Location

Hi MM Gurus,
Our client has got a specific requirement to control the security of purchase requsition creation, change and release based on the storage locations. We have found the authorization object M_BANF_LGO which is to restrict the access of PR based on storage location in purchase requsitions.
The issue is the purchase requsition BAPI does not check this authorization object as per standard SAP.
Does anyone know how to handle the security of purchase requsition based on storage location?
FYI - Our PR release strategy is at item level and not at document level.

Thank you for the reply. In case of purchase requsition for cost center, you can still enter the value of storage location. The storage location comes into picture when the goods receipts are posted against this purchase. However, the storage location value can be entered at PR level.
We have storage location field as "Required" field in all purchase requsitions as there is only one plant and each storage location represents the division.
