BW output into PDF through ADS or The SAP BI Export Library

Dear fellow gurus,
I would like to meet somebody who has any experience with Adobe forms for BI/ BW.
My colleagues are struggling with some performance problem on their BW project, where they want the ADS (adobe document services for adobe forms output) to print 400 pages for them. I don´t think that is a good idea (bad design, but I cannot do anything about it) but would like to help them.
They think SAP Note 1112132 (The SAP BI Export Library) could help, I don´t see the point. Looks like this tool is not quite "ready" for the use. And if I would like to use something like that, I would write that myself using iText or something. But I would like to hear some opinions first, before I will tell them anything.
Maybe there is something special for PDF reporting for BW? Or any BW + Adobe guidelines? Or anything relevant for me to read to get the idea?

Converting smartforms output into PDF

How to convert the smartforms output into PDF based form. After executing the form, it should directly open in PDF. How to do this?

Please go throuh the below procedure and sample Code, this might help you.
Procedure
When we activate the Smartform the system generates a Function Module. The function module name we can get from Smartfrom screen from menubar
Environment => Function Module_Name . In a report we can get this Function module name by calling a Function Module standard SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME. This function module at runtime calls the FM generated by smartform, which in turn is then used to pass data from the report to Smartform. In the report given below the FM generated is /1BCDWB/SF00000152 . In this FM we can see CONTROL_PARAMETERS in import tab. This is of type SSFCTRLOP. We need to set the GETOTF of this to be X. Setting this field will activate the OTF field in smartform.
In export tab of the FM generated by smartform we can see a parameter JOB_OUTPUT_INFO which is of type SSFCRESCL. The SSFCRESCL is a structure of having one of fields as OTFDATA. OTFDATA in turn is a table of type ITCOO. ITCOO has two fields TDPRINTCOM and TDPRINTPAR. TDPRINTCOM represents command line of OTF format data and TDPRINTPAR contains command parameters of OTF format data.
In every Smartform output in OTF format, TDPRINTCOM begins and ends with //. EP represents the end-of-page value for TDPRINTCOM field.
In addition we need to set few fields at the place where we call this FM(generated by smartform) in our program. While calling this FM we should set control_parameters, output_options, user_settings and job_putput_info fields as shown in program.
Once these settings are done we can call Function Module CONVERT_OTF to convert the OTF data of smartfrom output to PDF data format. Once these are done we can call method cl_gui_fronted_services=>file_save_dialog to specify the directory path where we want to save the output PDF file. After this we can call Function Module GUI_DOWNLOAD to download the PDF file on our local system.
Here is a sample code of program to perform the function.

Converting sap script output into pdf format?

Hi all,
I have modified the standard purchase order script form MEDRUCK . Now i need to generate the output into pdf format.
This is not only limited to spool requests , But also when the user creates the purchase order and clicks on print or print preview the output should be in pdf format.
Please help on where and what code has to be written for this requirement?

I don't know which is your release, but I don't think it's possible to create a preview in pdf format, but u can create a pdf file instead of the spool and then open it automatically, this is an example:

Output device DKRDSP029 is locked in the SAP system - RFC error

Hi,
One user of the system has got the following error when he is loading his "Change Office and communication" iView in the portal. This is the SAP standard DK used iView!
No one else has this error in the system as far as we know and the DKRDSP029 is a printer. I had no idea that a printer was connected to this information but apparently there is.
Does anyone has any input to what the problem actually is?

Where can I download the sap.viz chart library?

Hi,
I develop a web software with using sap.ui.communs, sap.ui.table, sap.ui.core and sap.viz chart libraries.
I found where I can download sap.ui.communs, sap.ui.table, sap.ui.core libraries to perform my software (OpenUI5 - Download)
But there's no sap.viz chart library... so for the moment I have to use in my page html this javascript code:
src="https://sapui5.netweaver.ondemand.com/resources/sap-ui-core-nojQuery.js"
I would like to use a local src and not a online src... so where can I download the sap.viz chart library (without jquery)?

Problem in sending the Smartform Output as PDF through Mail

Dear All,
I am sending the Smartform Output as an attachment by converting it into PDF. But when I am recieve this attachment I am unable to open the PDF file, it is giving error that FILE IS DAMAGED. Below is the code:

Converting output into PDF in RFQ

Hi,
Could anybody suggest me on how to convert an output generated through message determination into PDF form.
The output can be seen in spool requests.
Does any setting require for this??

Hi,
Use Program "RSTXPDFT4" i.e. Converting SAPscript (OTF) or ABAP List Spool Job to PDF
Go to SA38, here enter program "RSTXPDFT4" and execute
Now enter Spool Request No and execute and then save it as PDF in local PC.
Take help of ABAPer to create a T. Code with this program and use it for converting SAPScript to PDF.
You can create a new T. Code in SE93.

Getting error while converting an iview output into pdf format

i am new to visual composer and portal.
i have created an iview to display a list. i can see the list but on clicking a button 'copy to pdf' ,i am getting an error message

i have created a simple rfc to get the detail list of the company codes in r3.
in visual composer , i have created an iview using this rfc to display the list.
i have one button called copy to pdf to convert this list into pdf format.
i have used formula for this button is

Convert Script output into PDF and save into Unix Directory

Hi,
I had Sales Order Acknowledgement Output and wants to converted to PDFs and then these PDFs to be placed in Unix Directory
on their way to Docs Library.
I am using the following code

After this form , table ltf_otf is empty, So i am not converting into PDF .

If you are using the Function Module "OPEN_FORM" to open the form for printing then in this function module there is an IMPORTING parameter OPTIONS which is of type ITCPO to this parameter "OPTIONS-TDGETOTF" needs to be passed as 'X' which will give you the OTF output in the FM "CLOSE_FORM".
After this call the FM "CONVERT_OTF" and pass the FORMAT as "PDF" which will give you the PDF output in LINES table Parameter. Most important please pass some dummy variable to BIN_FILESIZE variable.
Now by using OPEN DATASET file name FOR OUTPUT IN BINARY MODE and the LOOP the PDF table and use the TRANSFER statement to place the data in the UNIX File and then Finally use the CLOSE DATASET file name.

Convert ABAP Report's Output into PDF Format..

I want to convert the outout of an ABAP report to an PDF file. I have succedded in doing the following :
Data statistics -
Number of
Records passed ---4
After executing the program RSTXPDFT4, i can get PDF file saying number of records in the above format...
But i want to have the output of the report in PDF. suppose a list is being displayed in the output olf the ABAP report, i want to save that report in PDF format....

Why does converting word into PDF does not take the background color of the page?

When I do a page background on a document, and save as pdf, it does not take the background color. It shows only white background.

This may be a limitation with the built in PDF writer in OS X. Never tried it so I have no idea if it does the same on my Mac.
As this is not a MS Word problem you are in the right set of forums.
Have you tried another PDF writer other then the built in one?
