BW, PIPE and POS DM

What is the relation between BW, PIPE and POS DM? Is there any training about that?

The POS Workbench contains the following functions:
· Check data transfer
You can check, for example, whether all the data from the stores has been transferred or you can display stores from which no data has been transferred.
· Analyze errors and messages
You can:
¡ Check the quality of the data (for example, missing master data in the system)
¡ Check the processing steps (immediate processing and subsequent processing)
The processing status is aggregated at posting data, store, and business transaction level and enables navigation to POS transaction level.
· Control POS processing
¡ Process POS data
¡ Status change of POS data
¡ Display, change, and create POS data
· Display the processing history
You can follow the document flow in two directions:
¡ For each receipt, you can see when particular processing steps ran and which documents and data were created.
¡ Alternatively, you can take a document and see which receipts it has come from.
All processing steps, (for example, changes to the transaction data itself or processing of tasks) are logged and can be traced.
· Balancing of totals records and transaction details
¡ You can check whether the total of the sales from the receipt data balances with the totals transferred from the cash desks.
You can carry out the balancing at the following levels depending on the degree of detail in which the cash desk totals are transferred: store, cashier, cash desk, means of payment, transaction type, item type.

Is it possible to change line item numbers to start from 10, 20, ,,,,etc instead of 1,2,3,..   etc. for shopping carts and POs ? Is there a BADI involved or somewhere in config ? Where is the line item interval defined ?
In R/3, you can define the line item interval in the doc type config.

Can Anybody explain me the role of xi in IS-Retail integration and POS cons

    Hi AnilKumar,
    Find the list is below:
Q: Role of xi in IS-Retail integration
Ans: **Business Content Scenario – Retail
Why using XI in this scenario
A push of ‘message type’ data to BW is required
XI supports quality of service ‘Exactly once in order’ in push scenarios
Stores deliver the data according to ARTS/IX-Retail
     XI supports ARTS/IX-Retail
In case the stores deliver the data as flat files they can be easily transfered to XML format via XI
    Business Content Scenario – Retail
    Store Connectivity Scenario
Increase profitability by utilizing POS1 data for
controlling of retail processes and by understanding
customer behavior in a better way.
SAP XI as single point to collect POS sales information
as mass data from (3thd party) store systems via an open

  • Unix pipe and java program

    Hi,
I want to make an utility that reads from a Unix pipe and prodouce an output to the screen. i.e. there is a "input.log" file to be processed as:
    # tail -f input.log | java myprog | console
this time, "myprog" should take last few lines from "input.log" and process it in some way and prints the result to the shell.
    Please suggest me possible solution.
    Sumit

if you want to create your java program in such way that it could take input from pipe and produce output to pipe, then you actually have to get input ftom System.in and produce output to System.out
but what you mean by that | console after java myprog, that i don't understand...
actually, what you decribe to be your problem, could be solved with cat or furthermore, it could be solved with not touching anything...
since when you pipe progs together, then first progs output would be connected to seconds' input and so forth...
    maybe this helps a bit...

  • Where can I find the old 2D and 3D Industrial Controls that were sold as an option in early LabVIEW. The ones with pipes and pumps, etc.

A long time ago, I purchased as add-on to LV that had some rendered 2D and 3D pipes and pumps setup as custom boolean controls.  I can not find my old ones.  Are they still available somewhere?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Just to add to Paul's answer, the LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control (LV DSC) still distributing the libraries. After installing, you can go to 'Tools' menu and under the DSC Module, you can find the "Image Navigator" which launch the UI to choose the pictures.

  • Standard Concepts: CVC and POS in APO

    Hello All,
please con anybody explain me these standards concepts in APO: CVC and POS, in detail what is the links between these 2 concepts?
my client has given me a brief explanation that CVC is master data of DP, and POS is the principle structure where is based DP and contain the CVC.
is not clear for me these concepts and how should i do to control on the system these informations and the links.
    thanks a lot
    Bilal

    Bilal,
    Firstly refer to :
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/8f/9d6937089c2556e10000009b38f889/frameset.htm
Now, let me try and explain to you briefly.
Consider a table. A table has a certain structure. This structure is defined by its fields. For instance a table for sales orders will have SO Number, Sold to Party, Ship to Party, Reference PO, Delivery Date etc... These fields, constitute the structure. Then there rae records. For the sales order table a record will be
    So number=100001
    Sold to Party = ABC
Ship to Party = XYZ etc
    This is a record.
Now try to draw an analogy with POS. The Master Planning Object structure constitutes a structure. You assign characteristics to an MPOS, which are equivalent to teh fields in the table. For instance the standard DP MPOS 9ADPBAS conatins the follwoing characteristics:
    9ABRAND     Brand
    9ALOCNO     APO Location
    9ALOCTO     APO Destinatn Loc.
    9AMATNR     APO Product
    9AVKORG     Sales Organization
This structure is called the MPOS. It defines the lowest level at which data is storeed and planned.
Now draw an analogy of teh table records to the CVC. A characteristic value combination is a record with values assigned to the characteristics of the MPOS. For instance one CVC could be:
    9ABRAND     PEPSI
    9ALOCNO     NEW YORK
    9ALOCTO     PARIS
    9AMATNR     PEPSI CAN 330 ML
    9AVKORG     001
This is ONE CVC. similarl;y for the same MPOS you can have another CVC:
    9ABRAND     PEPSI
    9ALOCNO     NEW DELHI
    9ALOCTO     BANGALORE
    9AMATNR     PEPSI PET 500 ML
    9AVKORG     002
Similarly you can have thousands of CVCs for the same POS.
So, MPOS is nothing but just the structure which defines what are the plannable characteristics. CVCs are records, or values assigned to MPOS characteristics...
    MPOS: /sapapo/msdp_admin
    CVC: /sapapo/mc62
I have tried to draw an analogy so that you understand better. hope this helps.
I would sugegst you to purchase "Supply Chain Planning in SAP SCM by Jorg Dickersback. Its an awesome book for starters.

  • 3A4 PIP and ORDERS05 mapping

I have rosettanet 3A4 PIP and ORDERS05 IDOC, I am using file adapter to read 3A4 PIP xml and send to R3 using idoc adapter till I configure and see I can use RNIF for 3A4.
Does any one have a general 3A4 - ORDERS05 mapping available. I am having hard time in mapping 3A4 elements to ORDERSO5 idoc elements (they are Deutsch to me ). I used ORDERS05 documentation and still seeing challenges.
For example, I have GlobalBusinessIdentifier and GlobalLocationidentifer,ProprietyDocumentIdentifer. I am not sure how the fromRole segment maps to what segement in ORDERS05
    Any help is appreciated.

    HI,
    Sorry Pal.
I have a file which one of my friends used at his site. Please give me your email ID, will send the document to you.
It has no XML but has all the details like what to be mapped to what.
It may be of use to you.
    Good Luck,

  • Configuring Email notifications for approval of requisitions and Pos

Configuring Email notifications for approval of requisitions and Pos - Using the EBS Server to send the mails as opposed to separate mail-server

For sending emails, you have to setup the workflow notification mailer.
Once this setup is done you can send approval worklist in mail and also it can be approved. ( If PO setup is done.)

  • Newbie: how to handle pipes and semicolons while launching UNIX commands?

    Good afternoon,
I am trying to write a Java class that can launch UNIX commands.
Launching simple commands (date, ps -ef) works fine, but when I start using pipes and semicolons, it goes wrong:
    Java code (pipe example):
            String command = "ps -ef | grep config";
            Process child = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(command);Result:
    usage: ps [ -aAdeflcjLPy ] [ -o format ] [ -t termlist ]
            [ -u userlist ] [ -U userlist ] [ -G grouplist ]
            [ -p proclist ] [ -g pgrplist ] [ -s sidlist ]
'format' is one or more of:
user ruser group rgroup uid ruid gid rgid pid ppid pgid sid taskid
pri opri pcpu pmem vsz rss osz nice class time etime stime
f s c lwp nlwp psr tty addr wchan fname comm args projid projectJava code (semicolon example):
            String command = "date;ps -ef";
            Process child = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(command);Result:
date;ps: not foundClearly the pipes and the semicolons are handled by the UNIX shell and cannot be put in the Java source code as such.
Does anybody know a way around this?
    Thanks
    Dominique

Pipes and semicolons are interpreted by a shell (bash, csh etc) and when one executes as you are doing no shell is involved. This is easy to solve by using the alternate version of exec() which takes an array as an argument and to use your shell of choice. For example :-
String[] command = {"bash", "-c", "date;ps -ef"};Note that the third argument is the whole of the command to be interpreted.
Two points to consider. First you should read, digest and implement all the recommendations in http://www.javaworld.com/jw-12-2000/jw-1229-traps.html; failure to do so will at some point lead to significant loss of hair. Second you should probably use ProcessBuilder rather than Runtime.exec(). Behind the scenes Runtime.exec() uses ProcessBuilder but ProcessBuilder provides a better interface with more features.

  • Barcode Code128 with pipe and cr

    Hi all,
how could I create barcode code128 with pipe ("|") and cr in the same barcode.
I'm using Code128A, code128A allows me to put cr but not allows pipe "|".
Code128B allows pipe but not cr.
I insert ASCII symbology to represent cr and pipe.
I try code128 auto, unfortunately the result is not what i want. it places "-" instead of cr.
Does anyone familiar with barcode code128? Please give me the advise. Thanks in advance.
    Cheers,

Well good to know, it would be great if you can share the solution as well.

  • SAP BW 3.52 and POS DM: Architecture Best Practise

We are retail/wholesale company that are two different business units. Currently we are running SAP BW 3.0 that is integrated with SAP R/3 and APO for reporting purposes. We are now in the early stages of implementing SAP Retail along with SAP POS DM to support the Retail business. We have a question re the architecture and the best practices. We were told that POS DM is integral part of SAP BW 3.52 i.e. a function within BW application. We would like to run the retail instance of SAP BW on a separate box and separate the POS DM onto another box. The reason being, POS DM processes all the store POS transactions through either to IS-Retail or SAP BW. We believe the transaction processing that occurs in POS DM should be separated from SAP BW, in order maintain efficiencies. Can anyone share their perspective and experience on what the best practice would be? Also, is it possible to do what we would like to do i.e. POS DM and BW running on different boxes?
    Please advise.
    Thanks
    Satish Seshayya

Information about POS DM should come within the next time as a Update of the Solution Manager.
    Some Remarks :
The best way to get some information is to contact SAP-Sales The most of my customers run POS DM on the same Box as BW.
A typical process will look like this :
POS System is mapped via Converter (e.g. XI) to the BAPI of the PIPE (/posdw/bapi_postr_create). Also you could feed the PIPE via IDOCS or via direct input (Proxy).
You've got some internal tasks running for validation of the data (sequencing, duplicate...) and you can schedule other tasks to supply the R/3 with IDOCs and to write Data to the DeltaQueues where BW can take the Data.
You can plan everything time-based. Thats meaning as long you don't have a huge amount of data (e.g. >12.000.000 LineItems/day) you should get no big problems with the right hardware.
Also you're able to do "trickle feed", that's more or less an immediatley processing of the data (e.g. directly or every 2 hours)
    wish u much luck

  • 0RT_PA_TRAN_CONTROL  No data from PIPE to POS Analytics

Hi Guys I hope you are fine!
I am new to POSDM and I need to extract data from the PIPE.
I am Using the configuration guide from SAP and I have made the pipe configuration as per the guide said.
I understand I need to execute the PIPE dispatcher and execute the tasks 01 and 04 and after that I would be able to extract the data using the delta infopackages already created and initialized.
The problem is I am not able to get the data from the pipe!, I have checked the TLOGS and TLOGL tables and I can see the data in there, but i still do not find the way to upload this data to the POS Analytic cubes (green light in Monitor but cero records ).
    Any advice will be appreciated!
    best regards.

    Hi Ramesh,
all POS Analytics data sources still do not support full updates. Regarding the OSS not I would assume that is was created in 2004 and never updated in later releases.
What you can do if you still have the transactions in PIPE is to reset the task status für te BW task and run this again.
    Kind regards
    Carsten
