BW Query does not load to Crystal Report

Hi,
I'm trying to create a Crystal Report based on existing SAP BW queries. I followed the steps provided after installing the SAP Integration Kit. Checked 'Use MDX driver with support for multiple structures'.
On SAP menu > Create New Report from a Query.
Managed to login to the SAP server using my Logon credentials. Select the BW query and click OK.
The problem I have here is that the query never loads into Crystal Report with the Field Explorer. The cursor shows that the query is loading. I've tried on two different queries and it never loads unfortunately.
Please let me know if I missed out any steps or there are some issues with the connectivity. Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated. Thank you.

Hope it helps.

Access DB (& .ldb file) does not close after crystal reports
Hi! We have a VB application using Crystal Reports 6 that has worked successfully on hundreds of systems for over 10 years. Now, on one network, the application and access database does not close. It seems to hang on the [.Close] command.
When we open the application an peruse the screens without opening up a report (using crystal reports), the application and access db closes fine. But as soon as we run a report and then close the report and try to close the application, the access db does not close. Many of the screens open the db and grab data from the access db, but it's only after running crystal reports that we have this problem. (Please see more information below.)
Setup: Application and data (access 97 db) reside on a server in the same folder, but application shortcut is kicked off on client PC. Kicking off the shortcut on the client PC means that the image/process runs on the client PC (not on the server). In this problem case, the application shortcut is on a Windows XP Pro Version 2002 SP2 PC with the app & data on a Windows 2003 server. Users are local Admins on their PCs with "Full Control"over the directory and files on the server where the data (access 97 db) resides. This type of setup is typical and has worked without any problems for clients.
The application is written in Visual Basic, using Crystal Reports 6 (using DAO). We close the recordset, set it to zero and then it hangs on closing the db (.Close command).
A few key pieces of information:
    - The application closes fine if the app & data (access 97 db) are on a local PC. This includes closing fine if the application is run directly on the Windows 2003 server where the data is stored.
    - It worked on this client's network until sometime in the last few weeks.
    - One thing that changed is that the company is using VMWare on its servers. Not sure if they started using VMWare at the same time as it started failing. This may be unrelated. Possibly other things changed, but can't get any more information ... yet.
    - It works fine running the application from a Windows Vista PC with a user who is a domain admin.
    - The access db and application hang for about 10-20 minutes and then eventually closes. It appears that somehow
Crystal Reports is keeping the db open, but I'm not sure why.The application doesn't quit and the database doesn't close even if I try to end the task with the Task Manager.
    - The Crystl32.ocx version being used is 8.0.0.4 (if that matters).
    - I copied 6 month old program files and database files to a test folder on the Windows 2003 server. It fails using these files that worked fine 6 months ago.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated! If you know of another good place to post this, please let me know.
    Thanks!
    - Mark

Crystal doesn't support tables in HTML interpretation.
You can probably work your way around this by doing Replace() calls on the relevant tags.
    See:

  • Query changes not visible in Crystal Reports

    Hello
I'm building a report on top a BI query. To solve some design problems I had to change my query in Query Designer. But I can't see those changes in Crystal Reports. The fields are the same as before, even when I click on 'Regenerate' in the context menue in Field Explorer.
Do I really have to build a complete new report to see these changes in Crystal Reports?
    - Crystal Reports 2008, V1
    - SAP Integration Kit 3.1
    - Query designed Business Explorer 3.5 and 7.0 (effect appears with both versions)
    - SAP GUI 710, Patch 11
    Thank you for you help!
    phil

After some more digging in this forum I found a solution to my problem in a totally different thread. It apparently needs two clicks:
    1. Menue Report -> Verify Database
    2. Menue Report -> Regenerate Data (freely translated from german CR)

  • Fields in Stored Procedure does not appear in Crystal reports 2008.

    hi,
    I am now using crystal reports 2008 evaluation copy for 30 days. I am trying to create a stored procedure with parameter, here is my sample Stored Procedure code;
    DELIMITER $$
    DROP PROCEDURE IF EXISTS `puerto`.`SP_FindEmployees`$$
    CREATE DEFINER=`root`@`localhost` PROCEDURE `SP_FindEmployees`(SIDNo VARCHAR(10))
    BEGIN
         SELECT * FROM employees WHERE IDNo=SIDNo;
        END$$
    DELIMITER ;
    when i try to call the procedure in sqlyog here is my sample code;
    CALL sp_findemployees('0000000001')
    it is successfull, but when i try to  connect it with crystal reports 2008 I got no fields in my stored procedure andi got this error message ;
"Database Connector: 'HY00:[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver][mysqld-5.1.33-community]incorect number of arguments for procedure puerto.sp_findemployees; expected 1, got 0 [Database vendor code: 1318]"
CR2008 was not asking a parameter values.
But when I try using stored procedure that i've made in MSSQL, CR2008 asking parameters and succefully created the reports needed.
My Objective is to make a stored procedure  in MySQL by using select statement and filter it with parameter(s) that I will pass and CR2008 will use this stored procedure.
i also try the view with this code below and it was successfull in CR2008.
    DELIMITER $$
    DROP VIEW IF EXISTS `puerto`.`ep_employees`$$
    CREATE ALGORITHM=UNDEFINED DEFINER=`root`@`localhost` SQL SECURITY DEFINER VIEW `ep_employees` AS (SELECT `employees`.`IDNo` AS `IDNo`,`employees`.`FullName` AS `FullName` FROM `employees`)$$
    DELIMITER ;

    hi,
Crystal Reports 2008 and MySQL 5 , ODBC driver 3.5 and ODBC driver 5.1.
I use ODBC connector 3.5 because I got errors in ODBC drivers in 5.1.
Do you have step by step procedure for creating add command dialog box?
I try creating the add command dialog box
here's my sample sql statement i don't know if its correct because no data appearing in my crystal report
Select * from employees where idno=@IDNo
    in Command Parameter Dialog Box
    Parameter Name = @IDNo
    Prompting Text = @IDNo
    Value Type = String
    DefaultValue = 0
    thanks!

  • When I publish projects with AICC reporting enabled the SWF "breaks" and does not load.

When I publish projects with AICC reporting enabled the SWF "breaks" and does not load. If I change the publish method to SCORM the SWF works, and if I turn off reporting the SWF also works.

OK.  That makes sense now.  Captivate 6 changed over to Rustici's LMS drivers.  Cp7 must have made even further changes that mean you must have an LMS present if you turn on reporting.
I would suggest you just turn off reporting while you are testing other aspects of the course functionality during development, and only turn on reporting when you are ready to upload to your LMS.

  • Load Balancing Crystal Reports 10

Is load balancing Crystal Reports 10 supported? I have heard that it isn't and wanted to either confirm or un-confirm that statement.
If Load Balancing is supported what are the scenarios that would be supported?
    Thanks.

CR 10 is out of support and not enough info.
Why would you want to load balance Crystal Reports? Only one user can open the Report Designer to edit a report. Or have you figured out how to have more than one person using one computer at the same time? If so then refer to the licensing PDF file, each user must have his own copy of Crystal Reports installed or a keycode per user.
So No, Crystal Reports does not support load balancing.
But of course my answer is only answering what you asked.... which is likely not what you mean.
Please see the Rules of Engagement on how to submit a question.
    Thank you

  • Version 12 does not load. ver 11 works ok. what's wrong??

I have xp. do not have service packs.
newest version 12 does not load, but instead reverts back to ver 11.
What's wrong?? Can i disable ver 12 from loading everytime i load firefox?

    thanks for the reply.
the integration manager would be helpful if the installation of the "Crystal Reports Basic 2008 for SAP Business One" (version 12)
would install all required dll's, but its not...
I think maybe I was not clear enough, I will try to explain better:
the problem is that after the installation, I don't see the required dll's in VB6 references and components.
I need to add reference to the CRVIEWER.dll and add the designer craxdui.dll and several more files that are not installed in that version of crystal and I don't know why...?
these files ARE installed fine in "Crystal reports XI developer edition" (ver 11.5), so I can add and edit crystal files inside VB6. the problem is I need them in version 12...
    Thanks

  • Firefox 33.1 does not load Adobe Flash Player 15.0.0.223

As far as I can determine, Firefox 33.1 does not load Adobe Flash Player 15.0.0.223 (identified on the Plug-ins list as "Shockwave Flash 15.0.0.223") when I access most of the pages on the MSN website. Whether it will display any specific video is unpredictable but it displays about one out of five.
If I place the mouse cursor on the blank black video display area (for which no controls or buttons are displayed), and click the right mouse button, then either (1) the context menu is the same as for clicking the mouse cursor on an empty part of the page, or (2) the context menu is not displayed at all.
Apparently, Firefox has failed to load the plug-in, but does not display any error message. Neither is there any error message displayed by the plug-in.
If you think I am willing to undertake a trial-and-error odyssey through various "do this and see what happens" recommendations in "Knowledge Base" articles and the like, then think again. I don't have the time to make the effort, and I will use Internet Exporer instead. It ought to work with MSN just fine. :-)
Since I did not develop Firefox, this is not my problem to solve. It's your software, not mine, and I didn't make the mistakes, so you fix it.
    By the way:
Either Firefox Help does not display the version correctly, or your Troubleshooter doesn't obtain the data correctly. Help says version 33.1 and Troubleshooter says 33.0. YES I KNOW THAT FIREFOX 33.1.1 IS AVAILABLE. SO WHAT?
Troubleshooter also identifies the Shockwave Flash plug-in as "15.0 r0" but the native Add-ons feature identifies it as 15.0.0.223 -- which is the version that Adobe uses.
The last line of the Troubleshooter's "educated guesses" just has "* 5.1.30514.0". I have no idea as to what that refers to and I doubt that anyone else would have one either.
Well, maybe those numbers are good enough for "educated guessers" but in my experience computers do not make "educated guesses" even if software developers do.
    Enjoy!

Please refrain from posting scattergun boilerplate suggestions.
Please post specific instructions that will resolve the problem. If you don't know why the problem occurs and how to remedy the problem, then don't bother.
Realize that the problem did not occur with the previous version of Adobe Flash Player, but began after it was updated to 15.0.0.223. So it is is apparently specific to that version, and it may reflect a flaw in Adobe Flash Player. There's no way to actually report it to Adobe. Posting a report in their "user forum" just produces replies like the one that you have posted in reply to my OP, so what is the use?
Evidently you presume that Firefox does not have a bug, that something else doesn't work and you may be right. However, if Firefox does have a bug, then nothing that you have posted will correct it, and experimenting according to your boilerplate will be nothing but a waste of time and effort.
Again, the problem is not that Adobe Flash Player 15.0.0.223 does not run, but that it does not run when I attempt to view most of the videos on MSN. It does display videos from YouTube and other websites with an occasional specific exception. If the failure occured on more websites, and with all MSN videos, then maybe your suggestions for investigating it would have more merit.
For what it is worth: the problem occurs in Firefox Safe Mode and without Firefox Safe Mode. Disabling or enabling any extensions or other plug-ins has no effect.
I established that while investigating why Firefox 33.1 started producing crash reports every time that it initially displayed the New Tab page when I visited MSN (Firefox 32 did not do that). I also checked whether the actions that I took to troubleshoot that behavior affected Adobe Flash Player on MSN. They didn't.
Apparently the crash reports occured because Firefox could not find or could not load the "thumbnail" images for website pages that I had previously seen (they are often deleted by ''CCleaner''). The crash reports stopped after I made a couple of changes to the configuration for the ''SandboxIE'' sandbox in which I run Firefox.
Frankly, Firefox "Safe Mode" is something I don't need, because I run Firefox in a ''SandboxIE'' sandbox, which is a much more comprehensive security measure than anything implemented by any specific application. At the moment I don't recall whether Firefox Safe Mode is enabled, although I probaby re-enabled it after disabling it during the crash-report investigation. But it didn't make any difference with regard to Adobe Flash Player in that context, so there's no reason to repeat it.

I have updated my system to latest packages and now KDE4 does not load. i get a Blank Screen.
    I can't reach virtual terminals(I tried ALT+F1 to F11, but no response)

  • An error has occurred while attempting to load the Crystal Reports runtime in deployed applications

My reports use to work but now i'm getting the following error on all reports in all the applications on my server
An error has occurred while attempting to load the Crystal Reports runtime.
Either the Crystal Reports registry key permissions are insufficient or the Crystal Reports runtime is not installed correctly.
Please install the appropriate Crystal Reports redistributable (CRRedist*.msi) containing the correct version of the Crystal Reports runtime (x86, x64, or Itanium) required.  Please go to http://www.businessobjects.com/support for more information.

    Hi Willingtolearnja,
This forum is for TFS, I'd like to know whether you use TFS and your question is related to TFS. It would be better to let us know more details about your scenario if it's related to TFS. If not, you might need to open a new thread in the proper tech forum
that your project related for a better response.
However, from the error message, you might use the wrong configuration for x86/x64 mode. Please change the configuartion and try again. Check the links below for more information:

  • E2E RCA - The requested query / does not exist on the current server

    Hi All,
The RCA for managed system is configured successfully and we are getting EWA for JAVA also.
But when i try to look at the statistics through Workload Analysis it gives error "The requested query / does not exist on the current server" and "unknown or deleted query".
I again tried to run CCMSBI_SETUP_E2E report but the problem STILL persists.
Please let me know what are the other methods i shall try.
    Thanks,
    Rohan

    Hi,
Our solution manager is in EHP1 SP23 and BI content is on 704 SP05.
Firstly the BI was configured in 001 client, we changed it to production client and activated the source system as mentioned in SOLMAN_SETP -> Basic configuration.
Later i found out the there are no queries.  I already told to update the BI content and SAP BW patch to SP06.
Do you think it will work?
    Thanks and regards,
    Rohan

  • Requested query does not exist on current server

I have transported a query from DEV to PRD and it went in fine. Now when i try to open the query in designer or analyzer i end up getting error " Requested query does not exist on current server". Though i can run this in RSRT and also can see its entry in RSZCOMPDIR table. Also i am able to execute this query in analyzer when i run it from the history.
Please advice what went wrong and what needs to be done.

Try re-generating the Query in production.
goto RSRT and selet the query. Now click on the third button Generate Report
Now try opening the Query from Query Designer...

  • BEx hierarchies not displayed in Crystal report parameters

    Hi All,
I am trying to using a Bex query that has a cost center hierarchy with a variable that allows users to select specific nodes or even cost centers. In BEx reports, this query works fine and gives the users the view of the cost centres in a hierarchial manner. However, in Crystal reports, the query provides a drop down menu displaying a simple list of all the cost centres (not in a hierarchial manner). This confuses the user as to which element is a node and which is a cost centre
Kindly suggest how can we achieve the cost centre hierarchy to appear in the parameters in Crystal.
    Thanks

    Hi,
this is a duplicate to this entry:
key figures are not displayed in crystal report
Please do not post the same problem multiple times

  • Select Insert into staging table does not load varchar2

I have a select insert query that loads a prebuilt table. I am running this query through Heterogenous services which points to a MySql database.
If I run just a select query in SQL PLUS then it returns all rows just fine.
However, when I put the select insert into a stored procedure, compile it, then run it. It does not load any VARCHAR2 datatypes but it does load DATE and NUMBER datatypes.
I also have another table with VARCHAR2 and it loads fine.
How can the database only load some of the items in a row and not others (VARCHAR2)
For instance, the query will load TRANSACTION_ID, ORER_NUMBER but will not load any data into BILLFIRST_NAME, and their is data to load.
    CREATE TABLE "TRAN_STG"
    (     "TRANSACTION_ID" NUMBER(11,0),
         "ORDER_NUMBER" NUMBER(20,0),
         "BILL_FIRST_NAME" VARCHAR2(100 BYTE),
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

can it be that there are differences in characterset? Can it be that there are differences in datatypes? Can it be that there are differences in field length?

If you have your AppPool set for 32 bit then install the 32 bit runtime, if it's set for 64 bit then install the 64 bit runtime.
Try searching, lots of posts on this subject.
