BW Report iview and SSO w/Logon Tickets

I have some BW Report iviews configured which work great for me however I can't get them to work for any other endusers.  I have administrator access and they do not.  The error they get is;
Unable to lookup System 'aBWP100'. Please check the system object and the alias..
aBWP100 is our BW server name.  I searched for OSS notes but didn't find anything.  Any suggestions?

You need to make sure that the other users have access to BW system and also since you are using SSO w/Logon Tickes, they must have same userids and passwords in portal and bw system.
Thanks and Best regards,

  • Problem about SSO using logon ticket  with user mapping

    Hi everyone ,
I had done SSO with Portal , BW and R/3 system.
I use logon ticket with user mapping .
When user name is same in Portal as in R/3 system, or user name is same in Portal as in BW , user can access R/3 transactions and BW report without logon.
There are some Portal users name which are different with R/3 user and  BW user. And I done the user mapping for these  user.
But some user mapping works fine, but most of them can't work, means that most of them need to enter mapped user ID and password.
    What's the reason?
When SSO using logon ticket with user mapping, the Portal user which is different with R/3 user and BW user,  can they access R/3 transaction iview and BW report iview without logon?

    Hi Chen,
What you have done is correct. But the problem lies here.
Since you are using the same system object for accessing the iview, where the ticket method is set to SAPLOGONTICKET in the user Management property of the system object.
To avoid this create another system object like the previous one but set the logon method to UIDPW and select admin, user from the drop down box. Also create a system alias for this system.
Now create another iview like the previous one but link this iview to the new system. Now do the user mapping for the users which are different in portal compared with R/3. Now you should be able to login without any problems.
Another important point is login to portal with Fully qualified domain name. In the ITS property of the system object also give the FQDN.
    Hope this helps

  • SSO with Logon Ticket to non-SAP Unix based application

    Hi all,
Anyone has implemented SSO with Logon Ticket to a Unix box ?
We need to achieve Single Sign On between our EP5.0 SP5 Portal and a third-party web application with a front-end on a Unix AIX machine with Apache.
We achieved SSO with non-SAP applications with Logon Tickets, but one was to an IIS system in another domain (we therefore used the standard Web Filter for IIS and declared it in usermanagement for cross-domain support) and another one running on Windows platform (we used the C libraries provided in the "Logon Ticket Toolkit": NT or Linux only).
From what we understand and found on the web sites, we cannot reuse any standard web filter (none for Unix, am I correct ???) and want to implement custom code using SAP libraries, if possible using Java
-> Are there any Java libraries that are available to both:
. verify the logon ticket with the deployed Portal public key
. decrypt/extract the authenticated username from this ticket ??
I've seen a mention of Java libraries, and Unix, in a SAP EP 6.0 document but I'm not sure where to find them...
Is the SAP Logon Ticket issued the same way in EP 5.0 and EP 6.0 ?
I managed to find something called SAPSSOEXT, for AIX, which contains some partial library and a sample, but it is dated 2000 !! Anyone has more information about this ?
Any hint is very much appreciated.
    Thanks a lot
    Olivier

Check these links for reference regarding AIX and Apache using X.509 certificates:
    http://publib16.boulder.ibm.com/pseries/en_US/aixbman/security/cas_pki.htm
    And just using cookies -
    http://forums.devshed.com/archive/t-105611 (perl based)
You can also use mod_ssl built into your Apache to facilitate both certificate based authentication as well as encryption.
The mod_ssl route is most secure (because of the encryption), the IBM link is comprehensive but requires extra infrastructure (LDAP).

  • Not able to activate SSO with logon tickets...

    Hi all,
I configured SSO with logon tickets on a new installation of EP 7.0 Nw 2004s SR2.
The target R3 server is in a different domain. But i added the certificate receiver portal server address in the UME service entries.
But when i try  to test it, it is showing the password entry login screen.
Is there any changes i need to make to the logon stacks?
Given below are the major steps i completed.
    1. Created RFC destination in portal
    2. Created RFC destination for portal in R3
    3. Exported verify.der certificate to R3.
    4. Added necessary entries for R3 sever in the portal security providers list.
    5. Restarted portal j2ee instance.
Did I miss out any required steps?
I doubt whether logon tickets are generated from the portal , since it directly shows the normal login screen when i test.
Can anyone help me on this?
    Thanks in advance
    Shobin

    Hi,
    Thanks alot for your reply.
I checked sso2. The connection fails there. But long back, we had created another destination in the R3 system to use in a different portal instance. There, SSO works fine. Even this destination also fails when checked through sso2.
I login to portal with administrator rights which has the same user id in R3 also. Please note that both these systems are in different domain. But I have added another host name in ume.service.login property which is already set up for SSO with the target R3 system.
When i test SSO, i am not getting any error messages regarding the certificate or logon ticket. It simply ask me  for a user name and password.
Is there any change i have to do in logon stacks to give preference to logon tickets?
    Thanks alot

    Hi Achim
    Thanks for ur reply
After changing Web AS Host Name and Application Host to FCDN, still i am getting that WAS Popup for logon.
And for SSO we are using UIDPW method for user mapping.
Acutally BW Report iview is connecting to the backend system and showing the report in Portal,
But they are some Drop down list boxes in that report when i am choosing some value to display, WAS Popup for logon is comming no the screen.

  • SSO to non SAP Application using SAP Logon Ticket

    Hi Experts,
I Have EP 7 SP 15 using SPNego Wizard to SSO with Active Directory and SSO between EP and ECC using SAP Certificates.
Now I have a demand to SSO some JAVA based applications (non SAP) to my portal using the SAP Logon Ticket.
I Have followed some blogs that directed me to use SAPSSOEXT (some libs) to read the MYSAPSSO2 cookie. The problem is that I didn't found this cookie, I even executed the command javascript:document to look for this cookie but the browser just show me the JSESSIONID info.
Does anybody knows where I can find this cookie or if there's a better way to set up this SSO? It´s necessary to say that I cannot SSO these application to the kerberos protocol because some security reasons on my company.
    Thanks
    Armando

    Hi,
I dont have much info related but i can giv u hint
refer OSS Notes 442401 and 723896.
When using SAP logon tickets for non-SAP applications, two different implementation options are available. The difference lies in where the ticket verification takes place.
In the first case,  the SAP logon ticket is submitted to the web server filter located on the web server. The web server filter verifies the portal serveru2019s public key
certificate using its local Personal Security Environment (PSE) and then populates the HTTP header field with the user ID for SSO to the non-sap web application.
In the second case,  the SAP logon ticket is sent to the non-SAP application, which then verifies it using the ticket verification DLL and submits the user ID to the application for SSO.

  • SSO-Logon from mobile device - create logon ticket from WebDynpro for Java

    Hi Experts,
I'm developing WebDynpro-JAVA application for some warehouse stuff  (runs on a portal system, clients are mobile barcode-scanners with Windows mobile 5.0). JCOs from the portal system to the R/3-backend are confirgured for SSO with Logon-tickets and portal uses LDAP for authentication against a Windows-ADS.
This works so far ... but my problem is the standard Logon-screen, which is nearly unusable on the mobile device (screen size, layout, etc.). Is there any solution to create logon-tickets directly from the WebDynpro application (using something from com.sap.engine.interfaces.security.auth or similar ?) or any chance to have a special logon screen for mobile devices (parameter sap-wd-client=Pie03Client is ignored for the logon screen).
    Thanks in advance.
    regards,
    Hendrik

    Hi Henrik,
Did you find the solution to your problem ?
I'm facing the same issue, so I'd be pleased to know the solution!

  • SSO fails with logon ticket

    Hi all ,
Could some advice on this .I have some issues with SSO with logon tickets .
    My landscape consists of
    - EP 6.0 SP on WAS J2EE 6.0
    - ECC 5.0 SP7 on WAS ABAP 6.0
I am trying to do SSO between portal and ECC , where in portal is the ticket issuer
and my ECC accepts the ticket . Follwing are the steps I have done .
    1. From keystore Administrator , I have downloaded the verity.der .
    2. From my ECC system , run STRUSTSS02 transaction and done following activities
    a. import the verity.der into certificate area ( selecte dfile format as binary )
    b. Added certificate into PSE
    c. Add to ACL ( here I have selected my portal SID , client
as 000 ( Do is need to give a different client ???...)
    d. Saved everything
    3. Then I have created a system object for my ECC system , given all the connector parametrs,
user management as logon ticket and created an alias too .
But when I tested is is failure
I have also created a JCO destination under the webdynpro content admin and selected the
logon ticket as the option , there also the test fails
Could any body advice what am I doing wrong ?

  • Difference: SAP BW Report iview - Query iView - URL iView

    Hi,
I want to show BW reports on the portal. Can anybody suggest me the different ways of doing it ? And also let me know about checklist of steps that need to be performed.
Can anybody tell me the difference between showing BW reports through URL iviews, showing reports through Query iView and showing reports through SAP BW Report iView ?
Which one can i use for showing BW reports taking into consideration the implementation of SSO between the two? I tried the URL iView (using the Web URL of reports generated by BW) but it asks for Username/password. Is that the problem with SSO. How can i check if SSO parameters have been set or not. I have imported the verify.der to BW System and added that to ACL. Is there anything else which is required?
    Thanks in advance.
    Rgds,
    MA

    Hi Manoj,
I feel BW report iview will solve your problem. You can create a query sting in BW query designer and give the same in BW query  string text area while creating BW report iview.
In the case of an url iview you are just giving a URL link of the BW report (this will ask for username/password).
But, in the case of a BW report iview you can view the required query as an iview (user mapping can be successfully done in this case) You should give fully qualified domain name in Was server option while creating the system.
While using the logon ticket Login id of both the system (ie BW and Portal) should be the same.
Refer the link for SSO using logon ticket)

  • SAP GUI & logon tickets

We're setting up a bunch of iViews in our portal to provide transparent single-sign on to all our backend SAP systems.  They run on Unix, so we'd need to purchase a third party product to do it directly with SAPGUI.  I'm wondering if there's a technical reason why the SAP GUI client couldn't perform a standard NT authentication and then use logon tickets to grant backend access like the Portal does, assuming the userids are the same (I realize there's no place in SAPGUI to do user mapping if they're not).
Just curious.  It would be a great way to provide single signon to SAP systems regardless of the server platform.
    Thanks,
    Rich

    Hi Sanjay,
actually there was a handson given two years ago, exactly showing this on teched.
You may be able to find the contents at

This setup is used by some customers also to get an improved version of the SAP logon pad
Please be aware, that this only covers SSO to the SAP Gui connected system but not encryption.

  • Help with BI Report iView integration!

    Hello,
I have been provided with a BI 7.0 Report URL (http://<BI FQDN>:8000/sap/bw/BEx?cmd=ldoc&infocube=<SUPPLIED INFOCUBE>&query=<SUPPLIED QUERY>&sap-language=EN) that i need to integrate into Portal as an iView. I have created BI System in the Portal System Landscape by entering following Parameters:
    Connector Properties:
Logical System Name: <BI LS Name>
    SAP Client: 100
    SAP System ID (SID): B01
    SAP System Number: 00
    System Type: SAP_BW
    User Management Properties:
    Logon Method: UIDPW
    User Mapping Type: admin, user
Web Application Server (Web AS) Properties:
Web AS Description: BI Web AS
Web AS Host Name: <BI FQDN>:8000
    Web AS Path: /sap/bw/Bex
    Web AS Protocol: http
After this i gave an alias SAP_BW for this system and then did the User Mapping for this system with my user account. Now i from PCD i am creating a New iView of type "SAP BW Report iView" and entered following parameters:
    Application Verison: 7.x
    Application Parameter: SAP_BW
BEx Web Application Query String: infocube=<SUPPLIED INFOCUBE>&query=<SUPPLIED QUERY>
Then when i do a PREVIEW test i get following message:
    Service cannot be reached
    What has happened?
URL http://<BI FQDN>:8000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.integration.launcher call was terminated because the corresponding service is not available.
    Note
The termination occurred in system B01 with error code 404 and for the reason Not found.
The selected virtual host was 0 .
    What can I do?
    Please select a valid URL.

If i execute the same query from Query Designer then also i get a error screen with an invalid URL in the address bar and a message in the body saying "The Page Cannot be Displayed". The URL that is pointed from Query Designer is:
    http:///irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?QUERY=<SUPPLIED QUERY>&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=7
The same report gets perfectly executed from BI System. Can anyone please tell me why am i getting these error messages and how do i resolve? Please advice. Thanks.

    Hi Vasu ,
I think you have a problem is due to BI-JAVA . Please check the  links in below.

  • Ignore MYSAPSSO2 Logon Ticket from Portal in BSP

    Hi all,
We have a WAS which is configured to access MYSAPSSO2 logon tickets from our EP 6.0 Portal. However, we have BSP's connected to the portal, and others to be used independently from the portal. The problem is that if we launch the portal as a new window of the BSP application, a MYSAPSSO2 logon ticket is created, so the BSP application, we refreshed, now changes the logged on user to the one on the logon ticket!
So the bottom line is: Is it possible to prevent accepting logon tickets for a specific BSP?
Thanks for your time and help.
    Regards,
    Nuno Vitorino

    Hello Jain,
Thanks for your answer. Actually, it solved the problem the other way around. In the local hosts file, we set a different domain for the WAS (In productive, we'll add the new address in the DNS). Then launching the BSP with this new domain, we were able to launch the portal and the MYSAPSSO2 logon ticket generated is not accepted by the BSP. We couldn't change the portal server address, because that way, the SSO within the portal wouldn't work.
Anyway, you've set me in the right direction so I'm giving you 10 points.
    Thanks and kind regards,
    Nuno Vitorino

  • Deleting Logon Ticket

    Hi all,
I am using EP6 here and ECC5. I am using SSO with logon tickets.
My logon ticket has expired. So i have to make a new one in visual administrator.
But it is not letting me delete that or not even rename that.
It gives an error message. I cant copy the error mesage that comes. And I cant find the same error in any file. may be i missed some file. Tell me where can i find that error so that i can paste the error message here.
Please tell me how too delete the logon ticket
    Thanks
    Tajinder

    hi tajiinder,
Configuring the J2EE Engine to Accept Logon Tickets
    Use
The J2EE Engine uses EvaluateTicketLoginModule to accept logon tickets for SSO. After receiving the logon ticket from the user’s Web browser, the J2EE Engine verifies the ticket signature based on the established trust relationship with the issuing system. Based on the ticket validity, the J2EE Engine authenticates the user.
For the case when you use authentication assertion tickets for SSO between the AS ABAP and the J2EE Engine, the corresponding module is EvaluateAssertionTicketLoginModule.
    Prerequisites
To check the validity of a user’s logon ticket, the J2EE Engine must be able to verify the issuing server’s digital signature.
&#9679;      If the J2EE Engine is both the ticket-issuing server as well as the accepting server, then it can automatically verify its own digital signature.
&#9679;      If the ticket-issuing server is a different one, then this server’s public-key certificate must be available in the keystore view that the J2EE Engine uses for verifying logon tickets.
    Procedure
The Trusted Systems ® SSO Wizard configuration functions of the SAP NetWeaver Administrator enable you to use wizard-based management of trust relationships for SSO with logon and assertion tickets. The configuration changes made with the wizard have a global effect for ticket-based SSO to the J2EE Engine.
           1.      Open the SSO Wizard.
    Note the following:
&#9675;       If the ticket-accepting system is SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SP14 or higher, you can access the SSO Wizard by following the path System Management ® Configuration ® Trusted Systems.
&#9675;       If the ticket-accepting system is SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SP 13 or lower, first you must deploy the SSO Wizard. More information: SAP note 1083421.
The system which you configure is displayed in the Selected Accepting System section.
There are two ways to add a trusted system:
&#9675;       By connecting to the system and requesting its certificate.
If the ticket-issuing system is SAP NetWeaver 2004 SP20 or lower, or SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SP13 or lower, you must configure it so it can send a response to the certificate request. More information: SAP note 1083421.
&#9675;       By manually uploading the certificate of the system.
Adding a Trusted System by Connecting to It
                                a.      In the Trusted Systems section, choose Add Trusted System ® By Querying Trusted System.
                                b.      The System Landscape Directory (SLD) opens automatically and lets you select the system you want to add. Select the system and choose OK. The connection details for the selected system are displayed automatically.
If you cannot find the system you want to add, choose Cancel and provide the connection details:
                                                      i.       Select the type of the system from the System Type dropdown list.
ii.       Enter the necessary connection details.
If you want to add an AS ABAP system, the field System Number appears. You can get the system number of an ABAP system by its license key which you received from SAP.
                                c.      Enter your user name and password in the provided fields and choose Next.
                                d.      The details about the selected system’s certificate appear. To add the system, choose Finish. If you want to make changes, choose Back.
Adding a Trusted System by Manually Uploading its Certificate
Before you start the following procedure, you must export the trusted system’s certificate. More information: Exporting the Ticket-Issuing Server's Public-key Certificate.
                                a.      In the Trusted Systems section choose Add Trusted System ® By Uploading Certificate Manually.
                                b.      Enter the System ID and Client in the provided fields.
                                c.      Browse to the location of the system’s certificate. Select the certificate and choose Open.
                                d.      Choose Next. The information about the system and the certificate is displayed. To add the system as trusted, choose Finish. If you want to make changes, choose Back.
           2.      Add the login module EvaluateTicketLoginModule (or EvaluateAssertionTicketLoginModule) to the login module stacks for the J2EE Engine policy configurations of the application components that accept login tickets for SSO. To do this, use the Security Provider Service of the Visual Administrator.
                                a.      In the Security Provider Service choose Runtime ® Policy Configurations ® Authentication tab.
                                b.      Select the policy configuration for the application component to accept logon tickets from the Components list.
                                c.      Choose the Switch to edit mode button.
                                d.      Choose Add New. The list of available login modules for the component appears.
                                e.      Choose the EvaluateTicketLoginModule (or EvaluateAssertionTicketLoginModule) from the list and choose OK.
If you change the options of a login module in the user store, the changes will be inherited by all policy configurations that use this login module.
If you change the options of a login module in a single policy configuration, the change applies only to that policy configuration. In this case the login module will no longer inherit its options from the user store. To restore the inheritance change the options in the policy configuration or in the user store so that they are identical.
    Result
After you complete the wizard, the ticket-issuing system is shown in the Trusted Systems list. The J2EE Engine accepts logon tickets that have been issued by the corresponding server.

  • SAP BW Report iView problem

    Hi,
I’m trying to create a SAP BW Report iView with a BEx URL, but I’m getting an error:
<i>“Session Management will not work! Please check the DSM log file for details.”</i>
When I use the wizard (for SAP BW Report iView), it asks me to fill out the web application string. Here I pasted in the URL. I left the application parameters blank.
    The BEx URL:
    http://<hostname>/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=DA&bsplanguage=DA&CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID=WEB_TRAFIK_STARTSIDE
The BW call works fine in the browser and with a URL iView!?
    EP 6.0 / WAS 6.40 / BW 3.5
    Thanks
    Joachim

you should be using  BW Report iView.
and when you create  BW Report iView pass the following for the querystring parameter
    CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID=WEB_TRAFIK_STARTSIDE
for this to work, in the system definition WAS host , was path and was protocol should be maintained
    Regards

  • BW Report iView that points to QueryView

I would like to have a BW Report iView that displays the standard icons (ie: Export to Excel, Create graph etc) and displays a BW Query View.  My understanding is that this has to be a BW Report iView and not a BW Query iView because of single sign on will not work with the BW Query iView.
So appending the following to my URL works for QUERY but what works for QUERYVIEW?
    CMD=LDOC&INFOCUBE=<CUBE>&QUERY=<QUERY NAME>
    Thanks!

Yes SAP Portal can seamlessly integrate with CMS.
