BW reporting for SRM upgrade
HI,
My quetion is, for upgrade fromn EBP2.0 to SRM 5.0, what will be the changes (structural and in tables) that will have to be considered in case of BW reporting?
Will standard reports in the new version take over automatically (with minimal config) from the older reports in EBP 2.0?
And also, if we require an BW consultant in a typical upgrade project for the above mentioned scenario, what would his exact role be?
Thanks in advance!
Sonali,
Hi. There are quite a few changes. We are upgrading from EB 3.0 to SRM 5.5 and have been able to eliminate all our bespoke reporting in the old system.
With the 5.5 system there are two main 'reports' included in the system, and also the analytics reporting in BW. It is dificult to say the standard reports will take over as it is always down to user requirements, unless you are in a position where you can tell your users what to do.
I configured the 'standard' BW reporting in our system, having never seen BW before, in a week. I wouldn't say you need a BW expert unless, which is usually the case, your users want to modify the SAP standard BW reports. My suggestion is to get any competent ABAP developer and give them the install guide (You can download this as below)
The main reports in SRM are
1) Check status report (BBPSC04). You can enhance this to add user defined fields, but its quite limited.
2) Shopping cart monitor (BBP_MON_SC) - this report can be enhanced quite extensively using standard SAP BADI's see IF_EX_BBP_MON_SC. This is going to be our key report for the 'buyers'.
There are some interesting documents available for download.
service.sap.com/instguides
service.sap.com/srm
service.sap.com/srm-inst
Also there is a list of the standard BW reports with 'BI Cont 7.2'. If the users won't be happy with these then you might need a BW person to 'create' a report to their needs. In our case we are going with the SAP standard BW reports.
Cheers
Rob

Health Report for existing role in support and upgrade documentation
Hi Experts,
I am looking for create a report or using existing report/FM (if any) which will show new objects been thrown for a role with there SAP suggested values when we use PFCG expert mode merge option. I think this will be very helpful for support person to health check for roles and during upgrade in step 2C documentation people can save a hell lot of time. I do not have ABAP knowledge. Can anyone help me on this?
Regards,
Arpan PaikHi Julius,
I have been to that wiki before and one by you as well (regarding upgrade steps). For current upgrade I have also noticed that SU25 step2B is not only left with customer related changes only. Where USOBT_C/USOBX_C has same values as of USOBT/USOBX there update to customer table automatically happened in step2A. So 2B left with very less changes where customer prefer the standard way!!!
What I am looking for is actual authorization change delta. Step2C gives us only list of roles get affected. I am lookimg for what change actually can happen to a single piece of role due to upgrade.
I have followed below method.
1. Join table USOBT_CD and USOBT_C to see actual proposal for changed transaction and corresponding auth object. Here I had to perform few excel work to remove data repetation
2. Then take old data for roles from AGR_1251
3. Put together above 2 data and after proper sorting by object manually remove the data which SAP does by expert mode merge function.
Can this step be automated by some ABAP code? or function module?

"Load report failed" after upgrading to Crystal Report for VS 2010
I switched to Visual Studio 2010 few months ago. Today, I needed to update my Crystal Report reports, so I installed the Crystal Report for Visual Studio 2010 on my local server. I updated my reports and it works fine on my local server.
On my remote server, I installed the Crystal Report runtime engine for Framework 4.0 (note that my project use the framework 3.5) and published my project. But now I got the following error when I want to create a report "Load report failed". I double-checked the path of my report and its permissions (note that it was working before the update).
Am I missing a step ?
Thanks for your help.

Edited by: David1111_ on Mar 1, 2011 6:09 PMGoogling 'FILE LOCKED WITH ONLY READERS' I came up with the following:
http://forum.sysinternals.com/topic21378.html
So, no, that does not appear to be the issue.
However my assertion - given that the correct dlls are loading - is still that either the report is not there (do you see it loaded in Process Monitor?) or the process has no access to either the actual rpt or the temp files that the print engine creates. Those really are the only reasons for report load errors.
This being a web app, try a simple win app - as a test. All you need is the viewer and CrystalreportViewer1.ReportSource = <path to report> (use a saved data report). Compile, throw the exe on the server. Run. What happens there?

Error in upgrade Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 to SP1
During the installation of SP1 of Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 (RTM was already installed) I got an error message saying:
Error 2753. The file "agent.exe.6ED28686_7B19_420C_B255_5B6C1BD2C705" is not marked for installation.
After a rerun of the setup program (choosing reinstall) the message did not re-appear.
It happens on Windows 7 x64 with Visual Studio 2010 SP1
Is this a bug in the installation or an "undocumented feature"?
Regards,
AdriHi Adri,
I had that error once and one other poster also had it. Like you I just re-installed and no error on the second round.
I believe it was some Windows Process had the file locked for some reason. It's not a bug or "undocumented feature" it's a Windows OS thingy....
Before uninstalling anything it may be a recommendation to reboot first and not load anything that may be locking dependencies.
How many times have you seen this?
Thank you

Installing BI Content objects for SRM
Hi Experts,
I am new to this group and i need your help for installing Business Content Objects for SRM based data flow.
We are working for a BW - SRM upgrade project and as per our requirements we need to build 11 - BI standard reports based on Shopping Cart, Shopping Cart Approvar & Central contracts. We have identified the relevant data sources (0BBP_TD_SC_1, 0BBP_TD_SC_APPR_1 , 0BBP_TD_CONTR_2) info providers/ characteristics & keyfigures from help.sap.com respective with query details.
We have checked in BW system and do not found any objects under SRM info area (infoobjects/info providers). As a first step we have activated the above said data sources in SRM system through RSA5 and ensured the data avaialbility through extractor check in RSA3.
We have replicated the Meta data and got the data soruce in inactive version. We are planning to install the business content for info objects, info providers, query elements..
We need your suggestions on how to proceed further and what are the checks need to be done before installing the objects.
Can any one provide an step by step document for installing the business content objects from scratch.
Regards,
Saravanan.MHi,
Tty to install objects in below sequence.
1. Application component
2. Info area
3. Catalogs
4. Info objects - Chars and Key figs.
5. DSO/CUBEs
6. Transformations, info pack and DTPs.
7. Bex Reports
While isntalling obejcts from BI content, use grouping option as - only necessary objects , do the simulation and later install in background.
If any obejcts already in active then use Match copy option there itself.
From google you may find them,
Use google search key as "Business Content in SAP BI".

Hi: I'm analyzing this STATSPACK report: it is "volume test" on our UAT server, so most input is from 'bind variables'. Our shared pool is well utilized in oracle. Oracle redo logs is not appropriately configured on this server, as in 'Top 5 wait events' there are 2 for redos.
I need to know what else information can be dig-out from 'foreground wait events' & 'background wait events', and what can assist us to better understanding, in combination of 'Top 5 wait event's, that how the server/test went? it could be overwelming No. of wait events, so appreciate any helpful diagnostic or analysis. The fact: (1) redo logs at uat server is known to not well-tune for configurations (2) volume test slow 5%, however data amount in its test is kept the same by each time import production data, by the team. So why it slowed 5% this year?

LOVs not working in Webi Report for SAP BO 4.1 SP 2 Patch 3
Hello ,
I have developed reports and universes in SAP BO 4.0 SP 5 and i have migrated those reports to higher version of BO which is 4.1 SP2 Patch 3.
My universe is working fine with LOVs but when i run the webi report , the LOVs arent working.
have anyone facing the same issue. any idea why the LOVs arent working on higher version.?Hi Victor,
The List of values we will assign in universe in order to get filtered data works on universe query panel
but the same objects when i am using in report(webi report) , the List of values are not working .i.e
they are not getting displayed in webi report.
for ex: i have country object having country names as LOVs and state objects having state names as LOVs . Now when i select Country value , the LOVs of state objects should get filtered and shows only states which belongs to country .
the above logic is not working in webi report , i am only able to select country and when i go for state, the state names do not get filtered.
please let me know why this is happening in the SP2 patch 3 version and its working fine for SP2 , but the chrome issue gets solved after applying patch 3 and not if we only upgrade to SP2.
the webi reports are not working in chrome browser if we using SAP B04.1 SP2 and lower version
but the LOVs are not working in SAP BO 4.1 SP 2 patch 1, 2,3.
kindly help me with the issue -

If you wish to use the Eclipse IDE Software Updater:
1. Start Eclipse 3.4.1 (Gemini) IDE.
2. Select Help -> Software Updates...
3. Select the "Available Software" tab.
4. Click the "Manage Sites..." button.
5. If you do not see the following URL listed:
http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/crystalreportsforeclipse/2_0/update_site/
then click "Add..." and add it.
6. Select the above URL in the "Available Software Sites", then click "OK".
7. The Available Software should now list the above URL. Open the node, and you should see "Crystal Reports for Eclipse".
8. Check all checkboxes for "Crystal Reports for Eclipse", and "Install..."
After successful update, you'll see version 2.0.1 listed in Help -> About Eclipse SDK and clicking on the "Crystal Reports for Eclipse" icon (blue swoosh with green diamond).
If you don't see that version listed, here's some troubleshooting tips:
Open a web browser, and Go to the following URL:
http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/crystalreportsforeclipse/2_0/update_site/site.xml
You should get back a XML file listed the current CR4E plugin and language packs versions. If you get an error instead, it may be because (1) you're in a locked down environment that won't let you access that site, or (2) the CR4E Update Site may be down for maintenance. If the former, you'll have to download the updates by some other means and upgrade manually.hello ....

Why does InDesign sometimes NOT package fonts?
Hi. I'm using the latest version of InDesign and lately, when I package files, I've noticed that the 'document fonts' folder is not always created in the finished packaged folder. There seems to be no pattern to when it does or does not include them.
