Retail folio download error

Hello!
I have multi-folio app with retail content and subscription. 6 month ago i switched to DPS Enterprise and published v29 app with custom storefront. Since that time i'm receiving many reports about download errors. People can't download purchased issues - they receive the error message. It's just about retail folios, free folios are loading fine. I can't reproduce that at my end, everything is loaded perfectly by me. But i have many negative reviews and emails about this problem. What may be the reason for that and how to resolve it? Am i just one, who faced this?

You should call Gold support so that they can look up your account information and help you troubleshoot. The numbers are listed on the DPS Dashboard when you sign in to https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com.

DPS Contents Security Issue!!

I've been recentley developing/testing mobile solutions to sell retail videos on the iPad and iPhone. I came across DPS and it seems like a perfect solution, it doesn't require coding, and I can embed our videos in an InDesign ducments and publish them as retail folios which is also a plus because we are a team of disigners and that is all we needed!! Unfortionatly DPS turned out to be not a very secured option for our retails contents!
Getting access to all of our premium contents was as easy as downloaing iExplorer, connecting the iPad/iPhone to the computer and extracting every single piece of contents from the folios.
I understand that end users will not have access to the retail folios without purchisng them, but after they make the purcahse, any one can extract any kind of contents!
I honstley find this level of security a deal stopper for big orgenizations distributing retail or sensitive materials, but yet I see that Nationl Geographics is using DPS and a lot of other big names, are they not aware of this? they don't care? or is there something I am missing?
I really love Adobe DPS and it really made me sad that such a great platfrom suffers from such lack of content protection.
I would appreciate any help or suggestions regarding this issue.

I was expecting two things:
1: Security after publishing: I would understand the lack of security after publishing with a free platform or one that has no In-App Purchasing or Subscription features, but with a platform like DPS featuring In-App Purchasing and subscription there should be DRM or some other security measure to prevent the premium contents from being compromised so easily. I know that it is impossible to secure any digital contents even with DRM, but the problem here is not weak protection it is the lack of any protection after publishing!

the FAQ above is very misleading because any contents even in privately published folios are very easy to have access to after publishing.
I am hoping to see improvements on security after publishing in the future, but unfortunately, with the current state of Adobe DPS I can only trust it with free or promotional contents, I will be looking for a more secured way to publish retail contents.

Retail folio with a free Suscription

Hi, I like to know the correct way to change my Newstand app with a Free Suscription Inapp to a paid one. What happened if I submit a retail folio with this type of suscription?
Please help me so that my new app or the inapp is not rejected.
If there is any thing I must know or done please let me know.

You can update your app to change it from free subscriptions to retail. When you submit your retail in-app purchase, Apple will prompt you to submit a new version of the app at the same time.
Note that anyone who signed up for your free subscription will continue to get all content for free, including retail content. The free subscription lasts forever (or something like 35 years, which is effectively forever in app years). The free subscription entitlement doesn't change when you update your app. You might consider creating a new app and pointing to it from the existing app.

Problem in dependency

Hi all
i have imported some standard SAP retail content into repository and import is successful.
I can see the contents in repositry
now i have defined 1 product in SLD and then 1 software component
I want to assign dependency to this component (say XYZ) to the standard SAP component which i have imported in repository > but problem occurs that when i click on my sw component in SLD and want to assign dependency i cant see any of the standarad content which i have imported.
i did cache refresh but no solution
any input>?

Dear Sharma,
As per my knowledge:
You are defining dependencies between Software components, that to you are assigning dependencies between your software component and standard SAP content.
Please make sure you import Content Repository in to your SLD where all the standard SAP Components will be available in it. IT depends on the version which you are looking for in Content Repository.

Transformation to supply DSO 0RT_DS54 can not be acticated

Hi,
I am trying to activate the Retail Content DSO 0RT_DS54 with the Data Flow befor. I get the DSO activatet and also InfoSources 0RT_PA_TRAN_CONTROL_TR and 2LIS_13_VDITM are active available, no dataflow between DSO and InfoSources.
A message while collecting business content says...
Object 0G33PCXXMC2QXHGGVG89S1TBTF5ROZ82 (Transformation,TRFN) could not be collected
When I try to activate the Transformation for it self I cant find it in rsa1 --> Business Content --> Transformations !?
If anybody would have an Idea I would apreciate.

Auto-Renewable subscription activation

Hi,
I need to create a new app for iPad with a free download of the first issue of the magazine.
When I will upload the second number (1 month later) I need to introduce the Auto-Renewable Subscriptions.
Is it possible to do that without a new build and submission to Apple?
Can I create an app with Auto-Renewable Subscription = no, publish to Apple and activate the subscription later?
Does the "subscription" button disappear form the app when there are no active Auto-Renewable Subscription?

You can control how the viewer will present the subscription. If you create a subscription viewer with a valid subscription productID and nothing exists to subscribe to, the subscription tile will not appear in the viewer. Once you publish valid retail content a month later, the subscription tile will appear, and your customers will be able to subscribe.

About DPS (mutifolio + Entitlement server) App and AppStore approuval

Hi,
We are building a Mutlifolio+Entitlement application to be distributed for free throught the Apple AppStore.
When getting the app, customers without user/password won't be able to see any folios until they get appropriate credentials.
In this case the folios are to be published as "retail" in order to be managed by the entitlement server (right?)
Do I have to create inApp purchase in this application even if the folios to be shared are free ?

Only create in-app purchase for retail content and not for free content but entitlement only applies to retail folios. Once customer with sign in with their credentials they can download entitled content.
You also need to make these available for in-app purchase, so also configure the in-app purchase product IDs within iTunesConnect.

Multi-folio Next Steps?

I've created a multi-folio viewer, with "sample" material, published the free app and submitted it to Apple. While I wait for Apple's approval, I'm wrapping-up the folios that will follow. but will be for purchase. These folios seem to be working just fine and appearing as a download in Adobe Viewer app on the iPad.
For some reason, I can't wrap my head around what should be the next steps to publish the folios and submit to Apple. Do I create new certificates, does each new folio have a different bundle ID, what about product IDs? (I am using the same Adobe ID and using a Pro account.) How does everything connect?
I would appreciate some help getting over this hump.

It's hard to tell what in particular is confusing you, so I'll give a quick overview.
On the Adobe side, you use the Account Admin tool on the Dashboard to assign the application role to the Adobe ID that you use to create and publish your folios. In Viewer Builder, you specify this Adobe ID in the "Title ID" field. Any folio you publish when signed in using this Adobe ID appears in your app's library. It sounds like you understand that part. When you publish a folio, each separate issue should have its own Product ID. Use the format "com.publisher.publication.issue." (If you're creating folio renditions to make the same issue available on different platforms such as iPhone and iPad, use the same Product ID for the different renditions of that issue.)
On the Apple side, you create one App ID for your app, along with the certificates and provisioning files. If you're selling retail content, you need to use iTunes Connect to create a Product ID for each issue. Again, use the "com.publisher.publication.issue" format. This Product ID should be identical the Product ID you specify on the Adobe side when publishing the folio as Public and Retail. In iTunes Connect, you submit these In App Purchases to Apple for approval. Apple opens the distribution app you submit and inspects the public folios you publish.
If you have a subscription app, you also need to create a Product ID for each duration. Use the "com.publisher.publication.duration" format. You specify these Product IDs when setting up the subscription app in Viewer Builder.

Yes, it works. Amazon has made in-app purchases and subscriptions available on their Developer site. For testing purposes, I created a subscription app for the Amazon Fire (Northwest Scenery). Everything works. Instructions are here:

What is the fee charged to the Digital Publishing Suite account owner, when folios are downloaded within a multi-folio published app?

I am trying to determine for my client if we should use a single or multi folio platform to build an app for the business. content wise, we would be able to accommodate both types, but i am more concerned about the cost. I've researched and discovered the following:
"Each time a user downloads a folio (makes an in-app “purchase” of free or retail content), a download fee is charged to the owner of the Digital Publishing Suite account."
What is the cost of this fee? and how is it charged to the account?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

What page did you find that line on? We no longer charge download fees per folio for customers who sign new (or renew) contracts.

Can I use one Adobe ID on DPS Folio producer to publish a folio to both iTunes and Googleplay?

My publication is being deployed across two stores, Googleplay and iTunes. I've created my content at uploaded the first folio (set to 1024 x 768) to Folio Producer. Can I get away with using that that one folio to publish to both apps?
For clarity, my iTunes app is Multi-folio with iTunes Subscription, and the Googleplay app is Multi-folio. Both are free (no retail content) and the folio contains no inline videos or panoramas.

Yes you can use one application id and publish to both iTunes and Google play using renditions :

I personally like to keep separate application id's for both stores since separate application id's ensure that I get Analytics for both stores separately and it also makes managing the folios easier, though there is some initial work involved when publishing folios, in the long term, it's more fruitful.

I've already run a systemtrace to find out the tables:
The following tables are involved: MPOS, MMPT, MPLA and MHIO, MHIS.
In BI-Content I just find MPOS in the DataSource 0PM_MAINTPOS_ATTR and 0PM_MAINTPOS_TEXT. That is ok for master data.
The other tables I couldn't find in BI-Content.
But maybe the BI-Content does not use these tables. Maybe there is used a view which I don't see in the trace.
