Bw statistic for InfoProvider

Hi,
I have an InfoCube which based on many ODS, and I would like to get statistics about the InfoQube queries.
Should I select in RSA1
tools->"Bw statistics for InfoProvider" the Infocube only or all the ODS ?

It's enough to collect stat info only for your relevant provider (the cube), if the queries you want to monitor are built only onto it !

BW 3.5 which authorization objects available rssm (checks for infoprovider)

Hi all,
How does SAP generates the list of authorization objects in RSSM when you enter a specific infoprovider (checks for infoprovider)? Are only the authorization object related to this infoprovider listed?
Is there any documentation about the purpose in RSSM for the button 'update check status (Authorization objects, infoprovider).

Statistic for the Portal

Need to knw how to maintain cache settings for infoprovider in one go

We are trying change the OLAP cache settings for the queries, as we know queries inherit the properties of InfoProvider so instead of changing for queries we need to change it for infoprovider. But we have 1000+ infoproviders, i want to know is there any way to change for all the infoproviders at one go"
we have around 1100+ infoproviders in our BW system
we would like to know what is the option to activate all the queries at
a time
Can you please let us know how to maintain the cache settings for all

and also like to know whether this will change the cache settings of
the queries present now in the system

You capture the steps that you do in changing the infocube properties in BDC.
Create an upload file with all the cubes technical names and execute the BDC program in automated way.
You can take help from ABAP expert in your team.

User does not have authorization for InfoProvider

Hi,
We are in BI 7.0 and want to display the data in the cube that I created and loaded data to. In RSA1, I am do a right click on the cube and select "display data". I am getting to selection screen and after selecting the output fields and executing, I am getting the following error:
User XXX does not have authorization for InfoProvider ZFREDC
The long text is like this:
You do not have sufficient authorization
Message no. EYE007
Diagnosis
You do not have sufficient authorization for the requested data records.
Procedure
Either select other data or get the required authorizations from your administrator.
I did a authorization check in SU53 after I got the error and it says the last authorization check was successful.
Can somebody suggest me what to do. If there are any authorization objects that I need to have in my role?

Be sure to have authorisation object S_RS_ICUBE assigned with at least activity 03 (execute) and subobject data and agregate for the respective cube(s) or infoarea(s).

Create ABAP Report for Infoprovider

Could anyone tell me Function module to fetch Infoprovider(s) for creating ABAP report on.
The report should provide:
Input:
- Infoprovider(s)
- Date-range: default: last 6 months
Output:
- data which is shown in the requests tab as described before, preceeded with the name of the infoprovider and having the possibility to download to Excel.

you can easily use it as a template to create your own program. The program just shows what to do and how you need to populate the tables in order to pass selection parameters to the fm to get the required data back.

Input Ready Query, Variable read mode setting Only Values for InfoProvider

Hi,
I have a problem with Selection Variable for a BEx Query :
- I'm working with SAP BI 7.0 support package 15
- My query is an input ready query built for an "aggregation level" based on "real time infocube" (Planning);
- Characteristic, I want to filter with variable, has query property Advanced->Query Execution for Filter Value Selection = Only Values in InfoProvider
- Characteristic (info-object) has set the property: Business Explorer tab--> Query Def. Filter Value Selection as Only Values in the info-provider...
My problem is:
when I execute a query,
the Select Values for Variables screen appears
I push on the Select from List button
and Select Values For MyCharacteristic appears...
but it shows me all values in master data table of my characteristic instead of only values in the infoprovider!!!
If I build a query for the Real Time Cube it works correctly, but if the query is built for the aggregation level it doesn't work!
Could someone explain me why it doesn't work correctly?

How to copy documents for InfoProvider data from one cube to another cube

Hello Everyone,
We are using standard document feature to store document/comment about the data shown in the report/planning query. Relevant characteristics have the property 'characteristics is document attrib' turned on/selected for this purpose.
Looks like the documents created gets tagged to a particular InfoProvider along with characteristic value assignment.
Is there a way to move or copy documents from one InfoProvider to another InfoProvider.
As per the design requirement, we need to move data from a real time InfoProvider (transaction cube) to a basic reporting cube. The data in the first/source cube stays for a period of approx 3 months before moved to other cube. We want the documents associated with InfoProvider data also to be moved, so that users can continue to see the document/comments what they had created earlier.
I looked at the Documents tab in DataWarehouse workbench. No options seem to be available to copy or move documents.
Any help will be highly appreciated and points will be rewarded accordingly!

RSSM: Checks Authorization Objects for Infoprovider are not activ

Hello,
we have BW 3.5 and we use RSSM Authorization Objects.
When we create a new cube with an Infoobject that is authorization relevant, in our development-system in rssm the flags for the checks are automatically activ.
When we transport the new cube to our production-system, the flags in RSSM for the authorization object are not activ.
Sometimes the new infoprovider is not in the list of the infoprovider in rssm, so we have to "update check status" with the appropriate icon.
My question:
It is possible, that when we import the new cube in our production-system, that all authorization objects are activ??

Normally system would check all the authorization relevant objects whenever a new Info cube is imported and in case if you want to transport these changes to Production system manually then follow the below listed steps:
1) In Development system, check or un-check the authorization relevancy using the transaction RSSM on a given Info provider
2) These changes are stored in table RSSTOBJDIR
3) Create a manuall transport request and include these entries covering the required Authorization objects manually.

Ex: If Info object 'A' is authorization relevant in Development system but not in Production system and you want to transport this change to Production system then include object 'A' table entries manually.

I am using BW 3.5 and I want to activate authorization on one infoprovider. I created authorization object using RSSM in dev server and selected only that object in infoprovider.
My problem is, I can add newly created authorization object in change request but am unable to add authorization checked infoprovider. Please help me if any one has faced similar situation.

1) Adding Authorization Objects to change requests - when you create an authorization object in RSSM - it prompts a transport. You can save it as a local object and later transport it but best practice is to use the prompt transport
2) In RSSM, we do not transport checked infoprovider. After you click on Transport: Hier Auth, InfoProvide Check button, you will select the report object - Z-Object for which you want to transport the Infoprovider check, it will be followed by a hier prompt for which you will have to select one. This step will pick all the InfoProvider checks for the reporting objects and collect them in the transport.

Edit SQL for Infoprovider report

i have a small question, since i never interfaced the BO XI 3.1 with SAP BW. Can we edit the SQL for the webi report created on the SAP Infoprovider (say for example : InfoCube - cube1).

Hi Siva,
No you can not!
When you create a webi report based on a SAP BW cube there is no SQL generated, but an MDX statement. Currently it is not even possible to view the MDX statement on the BO side. You need to put a trace on it on the SAP BW side.

User Exit Variable for Infoprovider based on month characterstic in query

Hi,
I am financial reporting with reports created on a mulit-provider over a plan & Actual cube. Along the top of the report is a structure which has amongst other restricitions a column for each month, i.e columns 1 to 12.
Currently we are in month 9, so the report should show data from the Actual infoprovider for months 1 to 9, but data from the plan infoproviders for 10 to 12. My question is how should the variable be coded for the infoprovider which will return a value based on the month characteristic in each columns selection. I understand how I can look at say the current system date, derive the month and return the plan/actual value for the correct infoprovider based on the current month. But I need to create a variable which will look at the month value which is in each column selection in the query itself.

we recently had this kind of reporting requirement. only difference being week instead of month.
you need to create 12 variables for actual month columns and 12 for budget.
now you will write a code to address all the variables. in following format :-
when var1.         "suppose var1 represents month 1 of actual columns
1. derive month from date.
2. if month <= i_vnam+3(1)                         "get the number from var and compare
              set the variable value as the month number of that year for e.g
              concatenate year i_vnam+3(1)      into        l_s_range-low
    else
              set the variable value way back in past which will not have any data.
above logic will cause values in following fashion
if this month is 3 and year is 2008
var1 = 200801
var2 = 200802
var3 = 200803
var4 = 199001
var5 = 199001
etc.
In the query all columns will be set with the property = hide if not values are present. so if 199001 is set in the variable then it will be collapsed.
same way logic for variables in budget column can be written which will set all the month variables which are less than
current month to 199001 (just in reverse fashion of above mentioned logic.)

MAP not updated statistically for materials maintained in standard price

Hi all,
For materials maintained in standard price, system updates MAP for statistical purposes - but I found that system is not updating MAP for goods movement with movement type 653. I posted a goods movement with movement type 101 and system updated MAP.
So could any one help by explaining me why system updates MAP for 101+ and why not for 653+
