BW Statistics Queries & Dashboards

Hello All,
I have a required to build a BW Statistics Dashboard (cockpit).
I already activated the BW Statistics and daily deltas are loading to the cubes. Now i am in the process of creating BW Dashbords.
My question is what Reports/Queries/Charts are frequently used to in BW Stats Dashboards?? any performance indicators ??
any sample dashboards documents or specs for the same are welcome. [email protected]
Thanks in advance
POPS

In 7.0, there is a new BW Statistical Query and Dashboard which can be published on portal, but if you are not in 7.0, then you can use the existing BW Statistical query which was attached to the statistical cubes.  Then you just need to create dashboard.
1. Most/least frequently executed query.
2. Average time the most executed query takes.
3. Load performance, how long does the normal daily (weekly, monthly) loads take.
4. Master data load performance.
there are thousands of performance measures in the query and you can create dashboard on those metrics.
thanks.

  • BW Statistics queries

    Dear all,
I am Viswanath.  I had activated all business content objects related to BW Statistics.  Here i have selected Data Flow Before and AFterwards.  My problem is that i am not able to see any queries under the respective cubes in BEx.  Can anyone suggest me how can i see and work with the BW statistics queries
    regards
    Viswanath

    Hi,
Did u get any error msg when installing Business content that
some of the objects are not available in meta data repository. If so follow this Procedure:
If this error occurs while you are installing Business Content, a delivery error may have occurred. Inform SAP. In all other cases, check, for example, that the object has not been deleted by another user during the collection.

  • BI Statistics Queries

    Hi All,
Is there any standard query which gives data on how many reports are there in Production and out of them how many are used and how many are not used?
    Regards, Vishal

    Hi Vishal,
There are standard wueries available for BI Statistics Queries,
for this you have to transfer these BI Statistics Queries from Business content...
then you can able to work on these

  • Bw Statistics queries: (Runtime query)

    Hi,
I works with BW statistics queries and need some details about Runtime query (0BWTC_C10_Q014).
    1) What is the key figure "Number Of Navigations" ?
    2) What is the key figure "Validity Period Cat." ?
    Thankfully,

Number of navigations is the the nbr of times someone queries the cube, that is, they run the query - 1 navigation, the drill down on char A, that is 2 nav, they drill down on another, that is 3 navs.  Navigations get counted even if the data was retrieved from the OLAP Cache rather than having to go to the DB.
THe online has help on the Chars and KFs of the BW stat cubes. I believe the Val per cat is a genral classification based on the how long the query took.  Can't remember the details, but I believe 1 is a very fast query, 2 is longer, 3 longer still, etc.  If you run the query looking at query times and the cat, you should be able to decipher to brackets for the values that go into each category.

  • Querydescription(or)Workbookdescription in any of the BI Statistics Queries

    Hi SDN's,
We built a query on BI Statistics which gives us information about which user used which query.Report gives us Query technical name but not giving Query description.
Now my user wants to have a Query description (or) Workbook description,as BI Statistics cubes are not enhancable.
Is there any BI Statistics 0TCT_* queries which gives us query description (or) workbook description ?
    Thanks and Kind Regards,
    Lakshman Kumar G

    Hi SDN's,
There is no Query/Workbook Description coming in any of the BI Statistics Queries.
From Tables RSRREPDIR and RSZELTTXT we will get Query ID and tile of the query.
In table RSRWBINDEXT we can see Workbook ID and Workbook Title.
    LANGU               WORKBOOKID                                          OBJVERS TITLE
E          17C9WSPUBW987O3865BTWGNM2 D       Overview of Receipt Data - Counter Fields
Above information i.e workbook description we are getting from RSRWBINDEXT table.
I created a generic data source by using the table RSRWBINDEXT and loaded but description is not coming.
Please give your inputs how can we insert this description in our report.
    Thanks and Kind Regards,

    Hi ,
Name of the workbook will be - BW Statistic 2.0 . And when u have installed Technical Content in the system it is always better to move all queries which is delivered as part of Technical Content .
Then try to load some data to Statistics cubes in development and then execute the Workbook it will be give you idea of what does indivual Query does as workbook contains graphs showing Cube Usage, Aggregate Usage etc  . You can also go to each query change view and see how is it designed.
    Assign Points if it helps.....

  • BW statistics cube "BW Data Slice"

    Hi,
What is the use of the Statistics cube "BW Data Slice(0BWTC_C06)".  I see that same datasource used for both the datargets BW Data Slice and Requests in the InfoCube (0BWTC_C07) but the standard infopackage selects only 0BWTC_C07 for update.
Also can anyone point me to some documentations where I can get the defination/meaning of the key figures for the Statistics multiprovider (0BWTC_C10).  I have a requirement where I have to create custom statistics queries to report on overall BW performance, so I need to know what those key figures represents.
    Thanks a lot

  • What is tha  use of  "bw statistics"?

i need some help from urs
what is bw statistics ?why we use it ,and any differ between "infocube performance statistics and "bw statistics?

    Hi,
    Check with the links,

BW statistics is for performance anylsis of the system. In tables RSDDSTAT* all information is stored how long a query took, how a long a loading process took and so on. With this information you can analyze which are your long running queries, the most performance taking actions and so on. This reporting is available in the web, in BEx by predefined queries. To be able to execute these queries you
have to activate technical content and load it regularly (on a daily basis). You can also setup the so-called BI Administrators cockpit. See help.sap.com or here in SDN for much more detailed information. The other way is of course
to visit class "BI Performance & administration".
You can install the BW statistics same as Business content. Go to Business Content tab in RSA1go to BW Statistics infoareacollect all the BW statistics Cubes and Multiprovider. Once it is done you can load data and can able to report on
    them.

BW Statistics:we have a option to activate BW statistics in BW 3.x version in AWB->tools->Activate BW Statistics
In BI 7.0 the options to activate BW Statistics is available in DWB (RSA1) ---> Tools ---> Settings for BI Statistics
(or) you can run the transaction RSDDSTAT to do the same
The BI admincockpit is process of one of the function known as Administration of the the DWWB.

  • SAP Netweaver Portal - Folder structure and report publishing strategy

    Hi gurus,
I'm working on a project in which we are publishing BW reports in SAP Netweaver Portal (prior to this, we were using SAP Bex Browser) organizing it by Department (workset, 2nd lvl of navigation), Business Processes (workset, 3rd lvl of navigation) and "iview types" (transactions, queries, dashboards and so on). On 1st level we have a workset simply called "Reports".
For each PFCG role we have on BW (ABAP Server), we created a portal role and defined which of the higher navigation tiers is visible to users (delta-linking the top level navigation worksets to the portal role and setting visible accordingly) and then we assigned Portal roles to the appropriated Group (PFCG role) so all users that have access to certain PFCG role can have access to the corresponding Portal role.
    For example:
In BW (ABAP) we have a PFCG Role: Sales PMR Analysis - Administrator, which grants access to Sales Infoproviders, queries and data for PMR analysis. The user that have access to it, should be able to see:
    |Reports|
    |Sales Administration|
    v PMR Analysis
      > Web Queries
      > Transactions
      > Dashboards
      > Workbooks
In Portal we create a workset that has: "Reports" and under it, all Departments (Sales Administration, Financial, Services, Human Resources and so on) set as "not visible". We create a Portal role called PMR Analysis and add the Report/Departments workset, set Sales Administration as visible and add worksets/folders named PMR Analysis, Web queries, Transactions, etc, and all the corresponding iviews under it.
If we assign this new Portal role to the Group of the corresponding PFCG role, the user will see exactly as the example from above.
Pros: The users have a clean view of the reports he/she has access.
Cons: The users doesn't have a clear view of what is available in BW so he can request access. There might be some useful report lost in on of the hundreds of BW roles that he doesn't know it exist.
One of the options would be to grant visibility to ALL departments, business processes and iviews in Portal and let PFCG security roles control user access, but that might be confusing to have an overwhelming amount of links, making it hard to find what the user needs, specially during first access. Not to mention possible security breaches.
So, I'd like to know how other consultants are defining this kind of folder structure and report publishing strategy in Portal. Ideally we would like to be able to have:
    - Visibility of all existant reports even those that the user does not have acess (so he can learn that it exist and request access)
    - Clean view of reports, segmented by department and business processes.
    - Possibility to search for reports, even for those that the user does not have access.
I'd appreciate if you guys can share your experience on this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Leandro

Cons: The users doesn't have a clear view of what is available in BW so he can request access. There might be some useful report lost in on of the hundreds of BW roles that he doesn't know it exist
This is not a refutation: your BW developers/consultants should be able to write reports, which points you in case of insufficent backend rights. EP is not designed to be familiar with ABAP security concept and cant take any influence at it.
One of the options would be to grant visibility to ALL departments, business processes and iviews in Portal and let PFCG security roles control user access, but that might be confusing to have an overwhelming amount of links, making it hard to find what the user needs, specially during first access. Yes, bad idea.
    - Visibility of all existant reports even those that the user does not have acess (so he can learn that it exist and request access)
As you already wrote on your own, this would be not good
    - Clean view of reports, segmented by department and business processes.
    - Possibility to search for reports, even for those that the user does not have access.
This is not covered by SAP, if you wanna provide that, develop it on your own.
    cheers

  • Bw statistic

    Hi everybody,
I work with BW statistics queries and need some details about Runtime query (0BWTC_C10_Q014).
I dont understand what contain the column with the key figure "Validity Period Cat." .
    Really I need your help.
    Thankfully,

The tech content is poorly documented so I guess You can only figure it out the hard way. Analyze the dataflow and identify the source table and source field (probably some RS* table i BW) Now, run a query and find out how this field is populated (You may need to use ST05 tracing)

  • INACTIVE USERS

    Hi gurus,
    its urgent, pls help me.
i have to create a report on bw statistics (i know the procedure and using bw statistic standard reports also) i have to find out
    1.  Inactive users (Never Access the system).
    2.  Reports that failed
    3.  Cube Sizes, Growth trends and Free disk space
Thanks in advance for your help
    regards
    mahi

    Hi Mahesh,
<b>The BW Statistics – OLAP InfoCube (Technical name: 0BWTC_C02) contains data arising from the
    execution of queries.
Reporting on this InfoCube enables you to see how often a particular InfoCube or query is used.
Detailed information is also available, about run times, data volumes and users.</b>
Refer this link for information on the Characteristics and Key Figures of this Infocube.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/52/e91c3b85e6e939e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
You can refer TBW10 - Data Warehousing.
It contains detailed information on BW Statistics and BW Data slice.
Most BW Statistics queries are assigned to the BW Statistics MultiProvider.
Some other queries are assigned to the InfoCube BW Statistics - OLAP,
Detail Navigation and to the InfoCube BW Metadata.
<b>At user level, you can analyse</b>
    1) Which users are currently working in the system?
    2) Which departments or users have used BW within a particular time period?
<b>You can get information about Inactive users from this.</b>
<b>You can get information about queries, whose runtime has overshot a specified value for
    online-processing.</b>
    <b>BW Statistics: Workbook</b>
The 'BW Statistics' workbook is also delivered with Technical Content which contains
many queries and charts for analysis.
You can analyze Usage(By users/By Day, By Queries/ By Run time/ By Infocubes etc),
    Data Volumes and Load etc.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards
    Hari

  • To find Query Run-times

    Hi guys,
i was trying to compare query run-times with and without BIA using RSRT, however i'm running into hurdles..
the same query when executed twice (without BIA) without using cache is showing different data manager times
i'm surprised how the reason could be
the difference sometimes is very high even the wait times are also sometimes very different
how to arrive at the average run-times are there any tools besides rsrt (i hve no access to statistics queries) but st03 doesnt seem to be of much help
i'm lookin at the fine difference so accurate times are necessary
    thanks,
your help will be greatly appreciated

    Hi.....
    check the following links :
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/43/e3807a6df402d3e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7c/2bde42fa712b78e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    Another thing :
If you want to use the BI statistics for Query runtimes, you will need the 0TCT_C01 InfoCube, together with the multiprovider 0TCT_MC01.
The queries for the BI statistics to report over query runtimes are all built on the multiprovider.
Besides that, you will need the virtual infoprovider 0TCT_VC01, to be able to report on the latest data. Because you will probably load the statistics each night into the 0TCT_C01 cube, you can report on the latest data using the 0TCT_VC01 virtual cube.
    Hope this helps you........
