BW System overview report

Hi BW Experts,
I have been assigned to prepare BW system over view report for new clinet. This report should discuss about pros and cons of BW system in the terms of Data modelling part and over all system stability.
I have got sand box access (refreshed with dev box). I have been involved in several Imp & Sup projects but have not prepapred this kind of report.
Finally, I have to study the system and I should give a report to Management about current system.
Could pls help me to find out what are the typical areas should I incorporate in this report.
And pls provide the list of areas that makes this report as much as useful report.
Looking for earliest response, all relevant replies would awarded with full points.

Unable to Gather System Overview Report.

Running ARD 3.2 ON 10.5.4 , able to connect and control all users fine but the function to gather a report for in my case the serial number doesnt work , i select serial number and then "Get Report" but it just sits there and does not bring me the information. anyone got a idea whats going on ?

I was also getting annoyed at the Report feature not working. This is due to the firewall rules not working in 10.5.X regarding the remote desktop ports. I checked my OSX 10.4 machine and tested what entries it puts into the ipfw list in terminal and it shows the right entries
02070 allow tcp from any to any dst-port 3283 in
02080 allow tcp from any to any dst-port 5900 in
When you enabled your 10.5 Firewall with remote desktop service enabled it does not ad any entries. You can test this by turning on accept all incoming connections on your 10.5.x machine and your reports will work.

Export System Overview - into a readable report?

I run the "System Overview" report on a computer - and export the data.
I can open it in Pages or Numbers - as an extremely long and "difficult to read" table.
Does anyone have way of printing out this information in a legible format?
Is there a template for Pages, Numbers of even Excel that will display this legibly?

I'm afraid I'm not sure what you're going for. An ARD report is, by its nature, a laundry list of software settings or hardware properties, and their matching values. When dealing with small numbers of computers, I feel the lists are a bit 'prettier' in Excel after copying the filled cells, then doing a "Paste Special…" with the 'transpose' box checked ( I don't have Numbers ). If you have a specific goal 'look' in mind, perhaps we can help you get to it, but ARD's exported txt document, with its column headings and a row of data for each computer, is about the best I would expect it to output.

System Overview hangs

I have one macbook running ARD 3.4 client and OS X 10.5.8 that I can "Control" and "Observe" but when I try to collect the "System Overview" it just hangs. This function works well on all other computers (about 50 of them) but not on this one. I have checked all the settings under Sharing, etc. The System Overview task (with "all fields" and "rebuild data for report") status normally starts with "waiting" then "collecting report data" then "tranferring" and finally "successful" after which the report info is displayed. The process is usually done in about 20 seconds or less. On this problem macbook, it runs for a while and then comes back "offline" or just hangs at the "collecting report data" stage but I can still observe or control that laptop. What can I do to get the System Overview report to work?

Pls Click the Personal Setting Tab in the ME21N/ME22N/ME23N screen..
and Restrict the "Selection Period for My Docs" to 1 day or One Week and Check..
Probably the Default right now is No Restrictions or One year...

System Overview on Mac Pro

Whenever I try to get a System Overview report of a newly installed Mac Pro, Apple Remote Desktop 3 reports that it failed.
Digging a little deeper I have found that the sysincocachegen on the Mac Pro has crashed and generated a crash log. All of the other ARD features work without issue so I guess that is maybe an incompatibility with the new Mac Pro?
Has anyone else seen this? Have a fix?

Solution Monitoring System Overview

There are non-production systems showing in the system overview in Solution Monitoring. They are dev and QA systems that are in the logical component. How do I removc them?

Solution Monitoring overview just displays the the solutions and the number of systems rated green, yellow, red, etc for
Earlywatch Reports, System Monitoring, Business Process Monitoring, and Open Tasks.
As you can see Solution Monitoring is based on Solution, so whatever systems you have included in that solution will be included in the solution. The overview is an overview of the solutions in Solutin Monitoring. This is why it is called Solution Monitoring.
If you are talking about System Monitoring, or BPM or EWA, etc, then if you don't want non-production systems included, then they should not be included in the solution, or the status of those systems in the solution should not be "Put in Solution".
Perhaps you have not set up your solutions in the best way?

Remote Desktop System Overview

Hi,
I'm trying to setup a database to keep an inventory of all the macs on my network. The Remote Desktop System Overview has all the info that I would request to have, but I can't figure out how to write this to a SQL database. Any thoughts?

I've have the report saved as a CSV (It can be saved as CSV or plain text). The output is similar to this (I couldn't actually find a way to upload or post the file itself).

My overall goal is to have a logon script that appends the hardware/software/network info to a database, so I always have the most current information, even after changes are made. Perhaps I'm going about this the wrong way?

FMBB Prepost vs. budget overview report

Hi,
When I try to prepost a budget document it is showing up in the Budget overview report (FMRP_RW_BUDGET). This is contrary to what i was expecting (I thought it will show up only after I post the document). Is this how it is supposed to work?

Here is the SAP definition of Workflow Status:
The workflow status is used to distinguish between data that has been preposted and data that has been posted.
Preposted budget data can increase or reduce the budget when it is posted and, for this reason, budget data that is preposted can have the following workflow statuses:
Earmarked
The budget will eventually be increased.
Reserved
The budget will eventually be reduced.
We do not use workflow function but we do prepost budget (managers will manually review the preposted budget and post them if approved). All our preposted documents in the line item table and total table has workflow status 'E'. Without workflow, this indicatior is the only criteria that the managers run reports to pull the documents that are waiting for their approval.
This is something similar to FI parked document. Parked document has a different indicator in FI tables regardless workflow function is on or not. But once workflow function is turned on, parked document is what initiates the workflow.
The reason your 'all' and 'Posted' are the same is becaused all your preposted documents have been posted.
Here is what you can test: in your test system, FMBB to create a prepost document (just prepost, do not post); SE16 to look at table FMBDP; pull that preposted document and see what value system assigned to Workflow Status field.

Error message in system diagnostic reports every 10 seconds

i use imac i7 and latest Lion
i noticed this problem by chance. It is seen in console under SYSTEM DIAGNOSTICS REPORTS. I can sit and watch and one occurs every 10 seconds.
i gave up and reinstalled lion via cmd-R and have systematically installed fresh copies of software. I just realized that the computer is doing it again. I know what a pain crash reports are but i have no choice. Most of the report titles begin as:   "hasplmd_2011_12_22_(time)_localhost.crash".     i will see about 15 of these ,followed by 4 reports with "JAVA" at the begining of the file name.   Below is a post of one of the crash reports which ov=ccurs every 10 seconds". desperate for help.

SCOM 2012 R2 System Performance Report issue

Dear All,
We have SCOM 2012 R2 with SQL Server 2012.
For last few days we are stucked with SCOM System Performance Report. We are trying to achieve following:
Generate a report of last 15 days of all the following components in a single report.
Get Memory Utilization of a Particular Server in Line Chart form with Horizontal counter showing 0 to 100% Utilization and vertical couter showing Time line. Also showing total Memory of the server.
Get Processor Utilization report of a Particular Server in Line Chart form with Horizontal counter showing 0 to 100% Utilization and vertical couter showing Time line. Also showing process installed on the server.
Get Disk Time report with (I/O) MB / Sec in Line Chart form.
I have tried creating a sample with photo editor to provide you better understanding of my requirement.
We can go for customizing reports with Report builder or any other tool which can help us achieve this task. Need your suggestion for the above.

1) open the url http://reportserver/reports where reportserver is your report server
2) navigate the folder Microsoft.systemCenter.Datawarehouse.Report.library
3) click the arrow of report Microsoft.SystemCenter.Datawarehouse.Report.Performance and select download
4) repeat setp 3) for Microsoft.SystemCenter.Datawarehouse.Report.Performance.rpdl
5) rename its file name and upload its into the folder Microsoft.systemCenter.Datawarehouse.Report.library
6) click the arrow of report which you upload on step 5) and select manage
7) update its DataWarehousMain --> A shared data source as /Data Warehouse Main
8) update Custom data source as Credentials are not required and click Apply
9) click the arrow of report which you upload on step 5) and select Edit in Report Builder
10) right click the unwanted part and delete

Problem in sending System measurement report to sap (sdccn)

I am facing a problem in sending the system measurement report to sap (USMM). I have have generated the system measurement report log and while sending it to sap
. when i click on SEND TO SAP tab it gives me message "Data has been already passed to SDCC for transport to SAP" .Please explain me what is the procedure after this .
As i have check the oss connection to sap its working fine
Even sdcc_oss connection is working fine.please help.

SAP report similar to CN41(cost overview report) in EUR

All,
All figures shown on the cost overview report which is triggered from the project structure should be in company code currency NOT USD. Is there any config setting which will show results in company code currency but not at controlling area level.
Request your input in this regard.

Please try setting the project currency in the project profile OPSA under 'Organization' tab to meet your currency requirement. Otherwise you can also use settings in OPSB for setting the planning currency as required.

Overview report cost estimate (fix and variable)

Hello
anybody knows a overview report where i can see for the current valid cost estimates
per material
costs splitt between fix and variable costs
Alternatively it would be sufficient if this is just shown for a costing run
In CK40N and all other reports i know i have the complete costs but to see details an extra click to the between fix and variable costs is needed and i can not extract to excel.
Or is the only option an query on KEKO,KEPH, CKIS?

Root File system is reporting that it's full [SOLVED]

My root file system is reporting as full, and I'd like some ideas on how to track the problem. I've tried a number of things like searching for the largest directory, searching for the largest file, and all that jazz. I'm obviously missing something. /dev/sda3 should be at 50%.
One note. The computer started what seemed like normal today. I converted my second hard drive to ext4, rebooted, and started to notice that things that needed the /tmp directory couldn't start. I made some quick space to get operational by removing 56M of stuff from pacman's cache, but that's a quick hack. I don't know if this is related or not. I am running testin

This happened because of the way my system is set up. I have rsync making backups of /home and /etc to /backup on close. It turns out that rsync created the /backup directory instead of using the existing one. Why? Because /dev/sdb1 wasn't mounted when I restarted after the conversion. Doh!
no shame in that. i totally freaked out once when i was still in school because i couldn't find a paper that was due. turned out i had /home unmounted when i saved the file, but had /home mounted when i went looking for it.
it was hiding under the mounted filesystem the whole time!

System Services Reporting is not opening from main SAP screen menu.

I have upgraded kernel patch in all our three systems of DEV, QAS & PRD, from patch level 139 to 376 (Kernel 460_REL). After upgrade ll system are working fine.
Yet, System>Services>Reporting option is not opening from SAP Menu, even it is not giving any kind of error message too.
While the same screen is opening from X-code: SA38.

If you go to transaction SE80 -> Repository Information System -> Other objects -> Transactions and you search for SOAMANAGER, you get into the screen where you can modify attributes for this transaction. Please check if there are strange values entered in there... Or maybe SAPGUI for HTML is not selected.
