BW Technical Architecture Diagram

Hi,
I was wondering if someone has a technical architecture diagram of BW in the context of netweaver. The diagram i am looking forward shows the interdependencies of BW and other Netweaver componenets such as Portal, XI etc'.
Many thanks,
Xibi

  • Solution Architecture diagram for a SP 2010 intranet portal

    hi,
Can any one plz provide a  solution architecture  diagram for a SP 2010 intranet portal.
want to use news , events, doc libs, Custom WPs, timer jobs, info.mgmnt policies, discussion forum.
So how the diagram would be.
also want to know whats the difference between logical arch.dgrm and soln. arch.dgrm
    Are these two same?
    any links/sources  are highly appreciated.

    Book:
    http://www.scribd.com/doc/86735719/SharePoint-2010-Enterprise-Architect-s-Guidebook
    Logical architecture:
The Logical Architecture is a definition (usually in the form of a diagram) of how your Portal is built, including hardware, software, services and other integrated components.   If it is required to make the “system” work, it belongs in this diagram.
Your diagram should reflect how each component of the system “fits in”, and is connected with, each of the other components.  This map isn’t focused on “technology” or how it’s implemented.   Rather, it’s focused on how things “logically”
fit together to make up the whole solution.
    Solution Architects:
Solution Architects use the Logical and Physical architecture diagrams to effectively plan out their solution and make sure that everything is accounted for and has been thought through before they begin building the solution.

I am looking for a BPM Enterprise Edition architecture Diagram showing how all the pieces (e.g. BPM, Oracle DB, LDAP directory, WebLogic server, Application server etc.) fit together . If it is available on the internet, can you please let me know the URL ?
    Thanks in advance.

I have several diagrams you could use but can't paste it in. The product docs on oracle.com have some but if you need something else maybe I can help. I do not publish my email on this site so we would have to find another channel to communicate.

  • Oracle 11g R2 Architecture Diagram

    Hi,
I trust this is the right way to go about the following
Few years ago I created an architecture diagram for 10g. I have now updated that diagram to include new features of Oracle 11g. Obviously there is so much one can detail in one page PDF Architecture diagram. It is in draft stage so I will appreciate any feedback on the diagram before I release it to the community. I have not released it on any website yet as I am keen on direct feedbacks. Anyone who is interested please send me an email to [email protected] and I will forward the diagram for their comments.

Have you seen Oracle's interactive diagram?
Oracle's URLs are subject to sudden change without any user-friendly redirection, but current URL is:

  • Solution Architecture Diagram for an Internet, Intranet Scenario

Can someone point me to a link which has a typical solution architecture diagram (logical, deployment, anything) for a SharePoint 2013 Internet/Intranet scenario.

    Hi  SP Dev101,
For Internet and Intranet, There is no functional difference between them. They represent different logical paths to gain access to the same sites in a web application.
To understand the connection between them,
the article A guide to Alternate Access Mappings Basics in SharePoint 2013 is
    very useful.
    An eBook for
how to create a test lab containing intranet and team sites in a SharePoint Server 2013 three-tier farm you can have a look.
    Also a good book named
Microsoft SharePoint 2013: Designing and Architecting Solutions you can refer to.
Finally I recommend you watch the video
Real world SharePoint 2013 architecture decisions which is based on real world implementation experience.

  • Need the technical architecture

    Hi,
I am very new to posting a topic in this forum...
please regret the inconvenience if I posted the topic in the wrong thread and also guide me for the right thread.
I am trying to bring a CD of practice exams, for the course GRE that is to be launched.
So I want a technical architecture for exam simulator of GRE practice Tests.
I need to design the technical architecture for this one. Where do I need to start from?
High level abstraction of the requirements:
scope is : Building Exam simulator
--> A standalone application where students need to place the CD and run the setup file of the exam simulator.
--> The setup file installs the software for the exam simulator.
UI --> There will be sections, like Section A, Section B etc., each section will have question, choice based.
Need to have a timer, previous and next buttons.
Data security is the main threat. If the setup is installed student should not know from where the data is being read or retrieved.
The architecture should be scalable so that we can add a wrap up of intelligence, for displaying the questions according to parameters we consider (speed, difficulty level etc.,) for a question being answered by the student. Also how to add the authentication of the user to resume the exam saved and to show the reports saved.
Guide me how to design it. Hope that I am at an entry level for designing the technical architecture.
    Please do the needful.

First, separate out the functional requirements and express them in terms of the domain.
A standalone application where students need to place the CD and run the setup file of the exam simulator. That assumes a lot about implementation already, rather than being a requirement. What are the actual requirements which mean it cannot run off the CD and requires a setup program?
UI --> There will be sections, like Section A, Section B etc., each section will have question, choice based.Turn that into a domain model, then state the UI will display elements from the domain model in a suitable format.
Need to have a timer, previous and next buttons.Turn that into a testable requirement - does the student have a time limit per question, per exam, or is the timer an extra feature if you want to boil eggs?
Why do you need previous and next buttons? Do they have to be buttons? Is there a reason that navigation has to be linear?
Data security is the main threat. OK. Needs elaboration - what data needs protecting, from whom, whether it's an authentication or auditing issue.
If the setup is installed student should not know from where the data is being read or retrieved. Why? it's trivial to look at what files a program are opening using OS tools, so this implementation of data security is rather flawed. If you want security, you need to secure the data, not try and hide it and hope that the user is incompetent.
The architecture should be scalable so that we can add a wrap up of intelligence, for displaying the questions according to parameters we consider (speed, difficulty level etc.,) for a question being answered by the student. 'Scalable' normally means that throughput grows linear with hardware duplication. The other requirements here seem to ask for reporting.
Also how to add the authentication of the user to resume the exam saved and to show the reports saved.Break this down into saving, resuming and authentication requirements, then start to consider architectural solutions.

  • Netweaver Technical Architecture

    Hi,
Has anyone come cross the technical architecture document for all SAP Netweaver components? SAP provides installation guide for each Netweaver component which have pretty good example of the technical architecture view. But I haven't seen any tech. arch. document connect all the dots.
    Thanks,
    Richard

That is something to answer directly:
    - does XI have to be on
    > a different server?
XI itself usually is sitting on different servers, once its getting a little bigger. You can see that from their architecture easily.
However, it is possible to install NetWeaver completely on one machine. But this seldomly makes sense, if ever.
can it be installed on the MDM
    > server?
    This really depends.
what is SAP's recommendation if the company
    > want to implement the whole NetWeaver product suites?
This is very individual and depending.
    > It is difficult to decide what you can and can't do
    > when you try to put a tech arch doc together for
    > multiple NetWeaver components.
Well, we're on the way. A couple of years from now I guess you will see a single installation that always has complete NetWeaver in it (due to growth of memory in general), because then the ressources are cheaper then the effort to do different installations.

    Benny

  • RODOD: Questions about technical architecture

    Hi,
I'm looking for more information on Oracle RODOD (Rapid Offer Design and Order Delivery) technical architecture design and implementation.
My understanding is that RODOD includes at least the following products:
    - Oracle Siebel as CRM
    - Oracle Siebel Service
    - Oracle Order and Service Management (OSM)
    - Oracle Billing and Revenue Management (BRM)
    - Oracle AIA for Communications
    - Oracle Unified Inventory Management (UIM)
    My questions:
    1. What would be the best source of information when designing technical architecture for RODOD (consisting the above products)?
    2. In technical architecture design, are these products considered as separate products that are integrated together, or does RODOD set some special requirements for the implementation?
2.1 Does RODOD require specific version of the above products? If yes, is this documented somewhere?
2.2 When deciding platform and OS for the above products, do I need to go through the individual certification matrices for each product, or is there a certification matrix on "RODOD level"?
    3. Any other good advice for starters?
    Thanks in advance.
    BR,
    TH

    Hi BR,
RODOD does not include Oracle UIM. It includes Oracle Product Hub for Communications (PH4C).
Oracle University provides courses for OSM that cover a good amount of concepts of RODOD.

  • E-Recruitment Technical architecture design for stand alone

    Hello,
I looking at various options to implement E-Recruiting in a stand alone scenario.
One option i know is where my HR Data is in ECC6.0 and E-Rec component is in other ECC6.0 system and i can interface the data through ALE and RFC's.
When we talk about E-Rec in standalone (without ECC), how would be technical architecture look like.
Please help me with some inputs.
    Best Regards
    G Raj

    Hi Raj,
Am not sure what are the exact details that you require. I have given a few pointers which may be of use.
Incase eRecruiting is on a different server then the transfer of data (PA & OM ) will be through ALE & idocs.
The transfer of data from eRecruiting to ECC is through RFC where only a set of 15 fields can be transferred back. There is also a newer option to use XI for this.
The standalone server usually has only the erec component & no other HR module (Pls chk the installation guide on this point)
A few BADIs need to be activated in the erec server
When an internal employee(object P) is transferred here, a corresponding object NA(candidate) & BP(business partner) is created.(This is because of the BADI activation)
Incase of an external employee , the moment he registers, an object NA ,BP ,CP is created. When he is hired into the system, there is an object P created with a New CP which then will have to be coonnected to the original NA.
Change pointers will take care of synchronisation of data between both the servers.
The relationship between the various objects are seen in infotype 1001 in the erec system.
The advantage of using this scenario is that core HR is not exposed to external people as the erec server talks with the external world.
Incase of webdynpro ABAP as UI, you can have separate fron-end & back-end.

    Sowmya

I have had several. They are usually "marketing swag" from 3d Party vendors of Oracle management tools like Spotlight, DBArtisan, etc. I have one on my wall now from Computer Associates. .
