Bypass D-Chain specific status of material master

Hi,
Is there a way ( Copy Routine/ user exit)  to bypass D-Chain specific status of material master which prevents creation of Delivery doc w.r.t a PO in STO scenario?
I dont want change the config setting for status to allow delivery creation.

Hi Kapil,
Threre are some material for which D-Chain status ( MVKE-VMSTA) in the materila master are set in such a way so that deliveries can not be created. We need to bypass this restriction for couple of delivery types. One of them is the delivery type used for intracompany STO.
I am looking for some way out like user exit so that I dont need to change existing config change for those statuses.

    Hi,
    We have a material A. in the material master for A, in the basic data ,the "X plant mat status is Z4 which means material discontinued. In the sales org tab for the same material, the "dis chain specific status" is Z1 which also means material under discontinuation.
    But the issue is we are able to create and save sales order for material A.
    i would like to know what is the issue. the system should not allow to create sales order. Also where are these material specific status configured and where is the control to block the sales order based on these material status.

    the creation of sales order is not controlled with a material status, it is only controlled with customizing of sales status.
    The sales status can be defined in IMG > Logistics general > material master > setting for central fields > sales relevant data > define sales status.

  • Bypass material D-Chain specific status check for a particular order type

    Hello All,
    For a material, I want to by-pass it's D-Chain specific status check for a particular order type.
    Currently when you enter the that material in the order, I am getting warning: Material XYZ has status: ABC hold
    I want to py-pass this warning message, how to do this? Can we configure this based on order type??

    Hi All,
    just some user can't see specific Field in Material Master with using MM03, but others people can. Where should  I change settings? Is it something to do with authorization?

    execute OMSR,
    position on field MARA-WRKST
    click the button field selection  right of selection group
    you will now see which fields are assigned to the group
    and below you see in in which field reference the group is set to hidden.
    field reference is a multi usage, it can be for material type, for transaction, for industry .
    so you have to check at least the settings for your material, for the transaction where you get this effect and for the industry you material is created with.
    further there is a customizing transaction OMSA, which is plant specific field selection, and I guess that causes your effect.
    open it and see which selection group is assigned to it.
    then go back to OMSR and see what status is assigned to this field reference.

  • Query Related to Addition Of Customer Specific Tab in Material Master

    Hi Experts,
    we had a requirement from our client to add certain specific fields in Material Master. we added all those fields in a "User Tab" created by copying "Basic Data Tab" & it's attributes in SPRO. After this was done the transaction was running fine but when we want to migrate to another tab say "Basic Data  Tab" we are not able to do so as we are still on the same User Tab.

          I would like to know am using strategy 52 for this FG, so that i can have option to procure order specific components after sales order arrival, and components which are not specific to the order can be procured before sales order arrival. Where am confused is if am planning with FG1 i.e. am entering PIR for FG1 and am procuring order independent  components before sales order arrival and suppose if the sales order arrives for FG2 for which components i have procured before sales order arrival is same but the remaining components which are order specific are different from that of FG1, then how the MRP shall behave. How the requirement for the FG2 shall be met. Kindly throw some light on this scenario.

    that moving average price will become a "display" field?

    Hi,
    The material master moving average or standard price field values are tied to the Pricing Control field value (V or S). However, these values are open for changes only in first time creation mode and once you start processing using that material in any transction, it becomes greyed out automatically.  You just can't change the value from MM02.  However, FI team in general takes control over this value because it is a matter of costing.  The price change subsequently, will be taken up during cost rollup process periodically by the same CO consultant in the project using transactions MR21 and MR22.  Hope, this helps..

  • Material status in material master

    Hi,
    We have different type of statuses that can be maintained in material master like -
    Distribution-chain-specific material status
    Cross-distribution-chain material status
    Cross-Plant Material Status
    Plant-Specific Material Status
    The settings for these are maintained as part of configuration.
    Is there any possibility to further add some more control parameters in the statuses through development or customising?

    Hello Mohit ,
    What kind of control you are expecting through the material status ? We can do config and maintain new material status through the t-code OMS4.
    Just to mention few of the control few  of the control we can do from there are Message/Error if independent requirement is created for material , Message /Error if material is used in MRP, Message/Error if material is used in production order header, Message /Error if material used in WM transfer reqmt/posting change etc etc .
    There are other plenty of option there which you can explore.

  • Field status in material master

    I want to make MARC-KZDKZ mandatory. Its field selection group is 100. now when I am trying to modify it there are 3 more fields in fsg 100. How can I make change in my field ONLY?

    In OMSR, for your field change the field selection group as example 240.
    Then click on the arrow on right side for 'field selection maintenance'
    Now for this group, choose the radio button 'reqd entry' for the required field references.
    So, for the material types those assigned with field refernce will get this field mandatory.

    This is nothing but the Status of that material in the specific distribution chain.
    Note : Combination of Sales org/dist channel is called as Dist chain...
    we can maintain the status like
    00 Sales status:blocked
    01 Discontd w/o Replace
    02 Discontd w Replacemt
    03 Technical Defect
    04 Test Part
    11 Under Development
    S1 Sales status:Not Rel
    S2 Released
    S4 Obsolete
    S5 Phase Out
    TB Temporary Block
    Please note the another field X-Distribution Chain- Spec Status.. this is for specify the status in all distribution chains...

  • Material Master - Purchase order Text view as plant specific

    Is there any provision in standard SAP to make Material Master u2013 Purchase order Text view as plant specific.
    Example: Material Master u2013 Sales text view is sales org & Distribution channel specific and the sales text is unique of each of the sales org and distribution channel combination.
    i.e, if we change sales text for a sales org and distribution channel combination, it will not affect the sales text of another sales org and distribution channel combination.
    Similarly, can we make the Purchase order Text view as plant specific? How to achieve this?
    As of now, if we change the text for one plant, it will be affected to all other plants also.

    Moreover, we are not using plant specific info records.
    We want to use material master PO text for some other custom transactions.

  • Hide foreign trade view in material master

    Hi all,
    Can anyone tell me how may one hide the foreign trade Views (both export & import) within the material master Data?
    Usually the material views for selection are managed Through the material type customization; however I cannot Find these views within the optional views for the material Types.
    I also searched within the foreign trade customization and could not found where it can be managed.

    Hi,
    To restrict the views you have to follow the above explained process. If you want make specific field in material master , you can use following process
    1.Just click the tab ,(Which is u want to be Required entry or Hide )and get the field name
    2.Go to T.Code: OMSR and enter that field name and get Selection Group
    3.1. Use t.Code: OMS2 and click your material type and in next screen check Field reference ( you have assigned for material type){{ ( example :;For ROH material type  the Field reference is ROH)
    3.2. use T.code:OMS9,, Double Click your Field Reference and select field selection Group & select round box of  Required Entry  or hide  as u required and save.
    NOTE
    If you want go for new material type creation, you can design your material views and all steps following with t.codes are
    OMSL,OMS3,OMS9,OMS2,OMT3B,OMT3R,OMT3E,OMSA,OMSF,OME4,OMSR,MMNR

    Can we make classification view required for any material creation using MM01. 
    We want the user to maintain a value in the classification view before the user is allowed to save and create a new material.

    Hi SAP friends,
    I found a solution to this problem.
    Use the user exit EXIT_SAPLMGMU_001.  Call the function module MAIN_PARAMETER_GET to get the PSTAT (maintenance status) during material master creation.  If PSTAT does not have a 'C' value, then it means the classification view was not maintained.
    To check further if a class type and a class was maintained in the view itself, call the function module CLAP_DDB_ALLOCATION_FR_BUFFER.  Pass the value 'MARA' to the PTABLE parameter and the corresponding CLASSTYPE (could be '022', as is my case) and the I_CLASS ('FIFO_BATCH' in my case).  This function module will return the T_ALLOCATIONS table.  If the table is blank, it means no class type and class were maintained.
    Then you can just display the appropriate error message.

    is it  possible to restrict the setup of some specific field for an specific view in Material master, and let the rest of the field to be updated for the normal users that used to?
    the views that I'm talking about are the MRP1 & MRP2 at the material master,  the idea is that  no one can modify certain fields that belongs to them,
    could it be possible, pls let me know.

    You cannot restrict the material master feilds based on the user, because the feilds in the material master are not user specific.
    It is based on the material type and also you can modify based on plant specific and industry specific.
    May be you wont give certain users for authorization for MM02 transaction ,for that you cantact the SAP security guys in your
    team,
    If you want no one can change the MRP veiws you can do in the configuration settings,T,code OMSR the table name is MARC and based on the  feild name you select the Display only, so no one can change the values.

  • Material Master - Error M3 826 Maintenance status of field ... to screen

    Hi Experts of the Material Master,
    I am getting the error M3 826 "Maintenance status of field MARA-BEHVO does not correspond to status of screen K" when all screens are selected in the Create Material Master transaction.
    Here is my situation: I have added the fields MARA-BEHVO and MARA-TEMPB both of status L (Storage) to a screen called "Phys. Characteristics", which has status K (Basic data).
    This produces  the error message above in standard SAP. I didn't want to change the customizing of the screen to allow L, because this screen is also used by other material types.
    I had to copy the screen MGD1 2701 (Phys. Characteristics) to my custom program for Material Master screens anyhow, as the number of fields and their descriptions had to be adjusted.
    The program was created using the activity "Create Program for User Subscreens" in SPRO.
    in the coding of ZMGD1 screen 2701 I have added this code behind the standard module FELDAUSWAHL to manipulate the standard logic that would blend out L fields on a K screen.
    LOOP AT SCREEN.
    *   Material Type
        IF mara-mtart = 'ZPNT'.
    *     Screen-Names of the 3 fields
          IF screen-name = 'MARA-TEMPB' OR
             screen-name = 'MARA-BEHVO'.
            screen-active      = 1.
            screen-invisible   = 0.
            screen-output      = 1.
    *       Change or Create transaction
            IF sy-tcode = 'JP27' OR sy-tcode = 'JP28'.
              screen-input       = 1.
              screen-required    = 1.
            ENDIF. "transaction code JP27 or JP28
            MODIFY SCREEN.
          ENDIF. "screen-name
        ENDIF. "Material Type ZPNT
      ENDLOOP.
    It all works fine when only a number of screens (but including the modified) screens are selected for creation.
    But it fails with the message above on the modified screen when all screens are selected.
    Any ideas?

    from the message, it appears that ZZKUNNR is a custom field attached to your MARA table. So, it is your System specific.  I don't see ZZKUNNR available in MARA.  If you look at the transaction code OMT3B (configuration for material master data screens), you can find K - Basic Data Screen in Maintenance Status field.
    You may look in this area to fix your issue. Because yours is a custom field, its tough to analyse further.

  • Plant specific fields in the material master for product move

    My scenario is we are moving a existing product in US plant to Brazil plant. What are the fields in the material master that are specific to a plant that will change. For ex MRP controller will change from plant to plant. Like that can anybody please provide me a list of fields that i need to be looking at?

    Hi Anusha,
    First of all, list down all your materials those you want to extend to new plant.
    a) Secondly, pay attention to those fields you will find "filled" in those materials at plant level.
    b) MARC comes handy for you to analyse which fields are at plant level.
    Intersection of fields with values between a and b are the ones you need to work out.
