Bypass installer system check for Oracle Designer 10gR2

Is there a way to bypass the batch file or edit it that runs prior to the universal installer loading?

I am trying to install Oracle Designer 10gR2 and the setup starts a batch file (see link below for image) that does a system requirement check. This fails on a machine that I need to install Designer. The reason it fails is because the paging file is in a different place than where this batch file is looking. The system meets the requirement it just happens to have the paging file in the wrong place.
My question; is there a way to turn this off with a command line switch or something so the installation will proceed unimpeded?
Here's the link to the image file, please keep in mind that this is an example and not the actual failure message. Please believe me it is the swap file it is failing on.

Problem: This software can only be installed into an existing Oracle Database 10g Oracle Home.
Recommendation: Choose an existing Oracle Database 10g Oracle Home for installing this software.
    Solution:
make sure you set ORACLE_HOME and more IMPORTANTLY make sure you are not imstalling client patch.
You should install 10.2.0.1 /10.2.0.2 full client first before installing the patch. If you don't, hence the above error.

    Hi,
I think the error message is quiet clear: You are installing a patch and the installer throws the error that cannot found an ORACLE_HOME to where the patch should be installed, and tells you to install a full client (10.2.0.1 or 10.2.0.2), set the variable ORACLE_HOME to the home of the recently installed client, and then apply the patch...

  • Rep. does not have support for Oracle Designer

We're new to SCM and just useing SCM with JDeveloper.
Sorry for newbie stupidness. Searches of this forum didn't
turn up any hits on 21247 or other strings.
Given: brand new install of SCM. Created a private workarea
with RON. Attempting to use RAU to enable branching and
    versioning.
    I'm having some chicken-vs-the-egg problems. I can't
enable branching in my shared workarea with RAU because it
seems to want to pop up the Migration Dialogue and then
    this error occurs:
    CDR-21247: Error Cannot proceed!
The target repository does not have support for Oracle Designer
    objects
Any help or tip would be greatly appreciated.

    Curt,
If you managed to create a private workarea from the RON then versioning is enabled. You would have enabled this from the RAU.
Oracle 9i JDeveloper release candidate provides a wizard to create the workarea and private branch.
There are now two flavours of the repository, one with Designer + file and folder support and one with just files and folder support.
If you have no structured Designer components you do not require the Designer support to use JDeveloper with Oracle SCM.
I suggest you try the JDeveloper wizards. The RAU also offers a menu to examine repository object state. Check that you have no invalid
objects, they can be recompiled using the RAU.

  • Installing support for Oracle Designer Objects in an existing repository

We have been using SCM to store Forms and other files

  • Run queries against system tables for oracle BPEL processes

I want to run queries against system tables for oracle BPEL processes. It is becoming very difficult for me to us EM as it is very slow,
and not all the time, it is sufficient for our needs.
We are doing load testing and we want find out info like how many requests came in and how many faulted and what time is taken by each request...
So do any of you have the query that I can use and tables that I need to go against?

Use the BPEL hydration database table "cube_instance".
There should be plenty of example in the forum regarding this table.

  • Installation Deployment Package for Oracle ?

    Dear all OTN Members,
I wonder if there is/are any Installation Deployment Package for Oracle just like Deployment Package I ever saw in Visual Basic ?

    Dear Andrew,
Thx for your suggestion, but actually I had try Project Builder for building the deployment package and I only can install from from Oracle Installer, also I can't create custom shortcut nor icons on desktop (not mention the registry settings yet). For information, me and my customer are using Win2k, so I try to find an executable deployment package. Any further suggestion ?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Solaris system requirements for Oracle 9i

    Hi everyone,
I want to get a Sun Sparc to use for Oracle 9i. Someone who can outline for the system requirement?
    Thanks in anticipation

    Ignatius,

  • Bypass P_orgin auth check for standard MSS reporting

    Hi SAPers,
on my HR system, I have 2 types of users : ESS/MSS users (via portal) and backend users (via sapgui).
ESS/MSS role does not contain any P_ORGIN authorization because it should be added to their authorizations if they are also backend users.
The problem is coming from standard MSS reports : the "time statement overview" among other report needs P_ORGIN (IT 0, 1, 2, 7, 8, ...) !
Is there a way to bypass the standard authorization check for MSS reports ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Olivier.

    I see two issues here:
    1. ESS is NOT setup correctly.
    - You don't need P_ORGIN for ESS.  You only need P_PERNR.  The trace might even show an error looking for P_ORGIN but you do not need it.  This is an example of a role I have using ESS services for addresses.  I don't have P_ORGIN, P_ORGINCON or P_ORIGXXCON.  Do NOT use PA30, for ESS, that is very dangerous.  The ESS services can be added to a role and should be use for ESS.
Here is an example of what I have:
Manually   HR: Master Data - Personnel Number Check                     P_PERNR
Manually   Address Change - Permanent and Emergency
         Authorization level            D, E, M, S, W                                                               AUTHC
         Infotype                       0006                                                                        INFTY
Interpretation of assigned per I                                                                           PSIGN
         Subtype                        *                                                                           SUBTY
    2. MSS - I can't find the service for the report you are looking for.  If you provide the MSS service I can run some traces and probably help you isolate your problem.  Example of an MSS service (sap.com/mss~pla/PlanningPrimaryCosts).
I hope I didn't sound too harsh; I am just trying to help.

  • Check for Oracle Service using a batch

    Hi,
I am using Oracle XE 10g as the database for my project.
I have a custom service to be started only if Oracle service is up and running. Currently i am checking for the service as below:
    +:WHILELOOP+
    net start | find /i "oracleservicexe" >nul
    IF not "%ERRORLEVEL%"=="0" GOTO :WHILELOOP
    SLEEP 60
    start javaw -Xmx1024 com.startup.StartServer
But when i use the above script, the java command for StartServer is called as soon as the service is started; but in reality the Oracle service takes around 30-50 secs to go in to RUNNING state and because of that i get an error when starting my server. "*ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress.*" Hence i added that SLEEP 60, to avoid the error, but at times it takes a bit longer than 60 secs then i get the error.
Can anybody suggest me a better way apply the required check which will not depend on having a wait period and will actually check if Oracle service is actually RUNNING.
    Regards,
    Rahul

    Hello rahul,
One possible solution to what you are trying to do is to use the Windows command sc like this:
    sc query winmgmt
    SERVICE_NAME: winmgmt
            TYPE               : 20  WIN32_SHARE_PROCESS
            STATE              : 4  RUNNING
                                    (STOPPABLE, PAUSABLE, ACCEPTS_SHUTDOWN)
            WIN32_EXIT_CODE    : 0  (0x0)
            SERVICE_EXIT_CODE  : 0  (0x0)
            CHECKPOINT         : 0x0
WAIT_HINT          : 0x0in the above example, I queried the status of the service winmgmt. If you piped the output into some file then used Find to check the status as "4 RUNNING" in some loop, once it gets to RUNNING you could proceed with the rest of the commands.
I don't use Windows CMD, therefore I cannot provide you more help than the above but, with a little work on your part, you can make this work.
    HTH,
    John.
PS: whatever loop you choose to check for the running status, be careful with creating an infinite loop if the service fails to start.
Edited by: 440bx - 11gR2 on Nov 12, 2010 3:20 PM - added the caution about creating an infinite loop in some cases.

The username and password you are looking for is that of the Database you are connecting to. I.e. where you have installed the designer repository.
If you have not installed the repository, follow the instruction to create the oracle user (repository owner), install the designer repository and use it to login.
The best thing will be to download the documentation the way you downloaded the software. It is important
