Bypass 'quantize' setting for individual notes in Score Editor?

Hallo, I hope there is an expert here on Score-Editor...
Basically I am using a quantize setting of 4,12 and it does look nice that way, BUT there are just 2 notes, which need to be in 1/16 value. is there any way to just 'Defeat' quantize as it is possible with 'Interpretation' etc? 'cause if I change the quantize setting f.e. to a smaller setting 'globally' it is just a mess and not worth it for the 2 notes?...I just can't find anything in the menus, manuals, etc...

I just hoped there would be a better way, since this will not be practical method to pass on to the players... . I probably will import the midi track in Sibelius and do it this way...

Incoming email setting for Calendar not working

Hello -
I want to be able to send a meeting request from Outlook and have it show up on my SharePoint calendar.
I followed the steps in this link to configure email for a 2013 farm:

Basically I installed the SMTP server on my SP web server and configured the relay to accept all.     In Central admin, I enabled incoming email using Automatic mode. and set it to accept mail from all e-mail servers.
My SharePoint site is http://sharepointdev.   SharePoint server is SPDEV1.     Maybe I am not setting my email server display address correctly? I have that set up as <mylist>@sharepointdev1.com   (I don't
think it matters what you call it here).
I have also verified that under the Calendar list setting, under Communications > Incoming email settings, it is allowed to accept incoming email. The email to use is <[email protected]
When I send the meeting invite, I get an outlook undeliverable on the above email. Details are:
Remote Server returned '550 5.7.0 Proxy session setup failed on Frontend with '554 5.4.4 SMTPSEND.DNS.NonExistentDomain; nonexistent domain''
I must be missing a step somewhere.   Any other suggestions?   I've tried everything in the links below. thanks

Based on the error message, the email could not be routed correctly.
What environment did you send email to SharePoint list? Is it an internal environment or external external environment?
If it is internal environment, you need to make sure the domain is same with email address’s domain, and SharePoint server can parse the domain.
If it is external environment, the email address’s domain need to be a public domain, SharePoint server must have public IP and the domain for SharePoint server must have correct MX record to ensure email can be routed correctly

Deployment - setting for system not to create planned orders.

hi
I am executing deployment at the plant level.
i have req. of 8000 on 26th and 9000 on 27th.
i created a stock of 3000 on 25th.
i am executing push deployment and maintained setting accordingly.
After completion of deployment, system deploys the stock ie 3000 and creates Planned order for the remaining 5000 to meet the demand of 8000.
What setting has to be maintained such that system only deploys 3000 or the stock only and does not create a planned order for the unful filled demand. ???
in onther words system should deploy the stock and should not do anything more than that.

Can you answer these few questions for me? I will be able to answer your more appropriately.
What is the order of planning runs in your system?
1. DPR for demand at DC that creates distribution demand at the plant
2. Deployment of the current stock at the plant
3. Planning run at the plant to create planned order for any demand left out
Is that the order? This does not make good sense for me but I don't know your scenario.
What kind of deployment run are you suing? deployment heuristics or optimizer?
In both the cases, you have "delete" and "reduce" option.
The system deploys the stock at the DC based on the distribution demand ( coming from DC to Plant).
If you use delete option, the system deploys for the amount of stock it has and deletes the remaining distribution demand.
So, if you got distribution demand of 100 PCs, there is only 50 PCs stock at plant, the plant deploys 50 and deletes the other 50 PCs distribution demand at the plant. You need to rerun DRP at DC if you want to get back this demand.
If you use reduce option, the system deploys for the amount of stock it has and reduces the remaining distribution demand.
So, if you got distribution demand of 100 PCs, there is only 50 PCs stock at plant, the plant deploys 50 and reduces the distribution demand at the plant to 50 PCs.
I think you have the second case and you are running planning run at the plant and it's creating orders. If you don't want the system to create them, use the "delete" option in deployment run.
Please let me know if I am getting your point right.

Locale setting for spanish not working in flex plugin

I am using the following flex compiler setting in Flex builder 3 and it works fine to support Spanish Locale.
-locale=en_US,es_US
But the same setting is not working in eclipse installed with flex4 plugin running on flex 3.5 SDK. I am unable to build project with this setting. If i remove es)US then it works fine.
Here is my whole compiler setting
-locale=en_US,es_US -allow-source-path-overlap=true -source-path=locale/{locale}

you might have to restart eclipse but you shouldn't have too.
I'd check that Eclipse is actually looking at the sdk you think it is (Eclispe might be pointing to a different sdk than FlashBuilder 3)
otherwise I am out of ideas

External Number Range setting for Equipment Not working

As per the Requirement I have assigned A00000000000 - ZZZZZZZZZZZZ to an equipment category through OIEN.
but I am getting the error message in the IE01 screen whenever I try to create an equiment with some external number for this category.
Equipment category does not allow alphanumeric equipment number
Can some one help whether anyother settings are needed.
(It is to be noted that system gives correct error message if I try to create equipment without giving external number - No internal number range defined for equipment category)

Random changes when changing setting for individual slide in a slideshow

I've used iPhoto for years and produced many slideshows. However, now when I try to use Ken Burns Effect for an individual slide, I click on the "start" area, adjust my slide, click on "end," and then iPhoto jumps to a totally different slide in the slideshow. When I go back to the slide I wanted to work with, nothing was saved, and the same random change of picture happens.
Actually, the Ken Burns Effect hasn't worked correctly on ANY slide I've tried.
Also, when I try to rearrange the slide order, the slides may stay in the correct order for a few seconds, but then a slide may jump four slides to the right (and again out of order). This behavior is strange and random. It is infuriating and I don't know what to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
ALSO, when I export a slideshow with music, the song plays fine for a few minutes, but then another song starts and the two songs are playing on top of each other (actually, it may be the same song playing over itself too).
What gives?!

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.

Change first name/last name convention for individual contacts

Hello. First off, I'm aware of how to set the convention globally under System Preferences. However, what I'm looking for is the ability to set this for individual contacts. This is an issue, because not everybody has an English name, but for those that do, firstname/lastname works better than lastname/firstname -- the reverse is true for those without one.
Basically I just need a way to change this setting for individual contacts. Is there a way?

There's no way to edit the setting individually. However, there's nothing to prevent you from putting a first name in the last name field or vice versa if it suits your needs better.

Drums In Score Editor

Hi, I read the manual for customizing the score editor to display your drum parts properly. But when I create a new mapped instrument in the environment, and edit the parts in the drum editor, such as creating new groups, and note heads....nothing happens in the the score.
For instance if i take the B0 kick drum and change the note head, then I input that kick drum in the score editor (using a mapped score style with a kick drum voice) the kick drum will show up, but not with the new note head. For some reason no matter what I change in the new mapped instrument's drum editor the score won't reflect those changes.
Any help very much appreciated!!

Font in Score Editor

I made a lead sheet using the Logic the other day, and I have a question about it.
The default typeface for chord symbol extensions is Times. This is fine, except when there are flats or sharps in the extensions (e.g. G7b5 or whatever). Using Times, of course, these extensions are shown as the letter b, sharps as pound signs.
I know Logic uses the AScore font for stuff, but if I use that (or AScoreParts), the extensions get all messed up. Do I have any options for using Logic's internal stuff for this, or do I have to use an external music font? For what it's worth, I know that works, but I'd rather not have to do that if I can avoid it.

Printing in Score Editor

Hello everyone, new here.
I am a new Logic Pro 8 user, and recently I arranged and mixed a composition in Logic Pro. The thing is that when I "Select all" the tracks and go to Score Editor, it only shows one track (and only a part of it, if the track's music is divided in multiple parts). I really don't know what to do, as I have a deadline for next week. If someone could please show me a quick tutorial on preparing and printing the scores, I would be very grateful. (The Getting Started tutorial didn't help me that much) So basically, all I need is to insert the title and the instrumentation on the score and then select it all and print it.

a quick crash course:
the score editor is the easiest part of logic to master provided, 1) you are musically literate, and 2) you understand some very simple core concepts.
but before that just to get you going (look up any terms i use):
1. you need to make sure that content catch (the link button) is grey. if you still don't see your full score then click the arrow next to it.
2. as matter of simplicity, it is easier if you name your audio object (now called control strip) the name of the instrument you want to have appear as the name in your score.
3. you need to look in view/page display options/ and select show margins. then you can see where you have to drag your title to.
the core concepts:
*instrument sets and staff styles.*
the instrument set displays your score, section and parts. set a KC (key command) for 'create instrument set from selection.' now, when you have the staves highlighted in the All Instruments view, it will make a score out of your selected instruments. imagine you had a string quartet and some midi instruments. you only want to display the string quartet as a score, so you select those staves and hit the KC. now you will have a score only of the strong quartet.
this goes further...you can then edit sections of a full orchestra...and finally you should make an instrument set for each part you want to print. ie if you were printing the clarinet part it would be a set with just the clarinet in it.
the reason for this is that instrument sets can be formatted independently of one another. and this is why you couldn't edit the the All Instruments set. you have to make an instrument set first.
staff styles: you can have as many different staff styles as you want for each instrument and they will print out correctly. that means you can have staff style just for a bit where you want to show different voices, or just for a bit with an ossia (a double stave style). when you are using a mutlivoice staff style, you can do things like hide notes you don't to see, for example in a glissando, because those styles will only display the notes with the midi channel you have set for them.
each midi region in arrange can have its own staff style setting. so you can chop up your violin 1 part as much as you want and assign it different score styles throughout depending on what you need.
final core concept - MIDI.
don't trust your eyes!!!! only trust midi information when placing things in your score. always ensure that when you insert something in the score that it is in the right midi position. here i am talking about text and various score markings you drag from the partbox.
here are the KC's you absolutely need to have for work in the score editor:
1. create instrument set from selection. you should use this a lot!
2. open staff style editor.
3. open instrument set editor. edit your instrument set so that it looks right is scaled properly etc. when using the logic default score styles, i recommend setting your parts for printing to no more than 85%. any more and the writing is unnecessarily big.
honestly, if you work those KC's, and stick to those concepts, everything just falls together after that. of all the notation editors i have used, logic's is by far the most intuitive and flexible - but i stress - you have to grock those concepts.

Score problem: lp8 individual note attributes defeat does not work

I like to leave interpretation checked on for most instrument tracks. This usually makes the score look ok, but not for every note. When I try to turn off interpretation for an individual note by double clicking that note, interpretation defeat does nothing! So I can't make my parts look right. This is crucial to me because I often print out parts for musicians to play, and I need to have the parts look musically correct!
for ex: I play (and quantize, btw) a quarter note on beat 1, and 4 16th notes on beat 2, with beat 1 tied to the first 16th note of beat 2. With track interpretation on, I get a rest on the first 16th note of beat 2. I turn track interpretation off, and it fixes it, but when I double click the first note and choose interpretation defeat, nothing happens! In logic 7, this worked fine.
Can anyone help?

I have used emagic software since atari notator, and I have to say I am VERY disappointed with lp8 - what a mess!!!! I am still using 7, and am contemplating pro tools......

Arthur, this sounds like a legacy bug... In any case, may I suggest a different approach that will give you the results you're looking for...
First, instead of leaving the interpretation checkbox on for all parts as you normally do, do the opposite -- turn it OFF for each part. And immediately after turning it off on any part, Select ALL and use the function "force interpretation" (via key command or the menu item). At this point your display will look as it did with the interpretation checkbox = on, +but with one big difference+ --- you can now selectively defeat the interpretation on selected notes _and it will work as expected_ !

My family has three iPod touches. They are all different. We want to be able to set up individual accounts for each of them. When we have them all under the same account, every time we sync, they sync the last person's music and app choices. Help.

Yu can use the same account. Just in the Music and App and other panes for the iPod check the boxes that say sync only checked item. You do not want to check sync the entire library.

Is there a DJ app for the Ipad that will read the "start" and "stop time" setting for each individual song, as they are set in the song Options screen in Itunes?

Is there a DJ app for the Ipad that will read the "start" and "stop time" setting for each individual song, as they are set in the song Options screen in Itunes? The Ipod Touch, by itself does not allow cross-fading, therefore when the stop time is edited short, the song jusst truncates then goes to the next song. I tried the DJay ap and while it would crossfade, it would NOT read the song settings for the stop marker. So now I want to try and Ipad and see if there is an app that will READ the Itune stop settings within the song. I do NOT want an app that will allow me to DO the stop marker. I want an app that will READ the stop marker from the song as it is set in Itunes.

Itunes provides the option for setting the Start and Stop times of each music track. However, the start and stop times do not synchronize to the iPhone. I don't understand why this option is even available as it doesn't work when listening to music on the phone. I have not found another application that will support the start and stop time markets. I have searched quite a bit for this but can't find anything. I hope we can find something.

I can't get volume on Main Output to work correctly with controllers on my keyboard. It's either all on or all off. Works fine for individual instruments (thought it lumps them all together) but not for main volume output on concert. Thanks for any help.

All this sounds like you are confused about the general nature of MIDI Continuous Controllers (MIDI CC). The MIDI specification allows for 128 different CC's: CC0 to CC127. Some are typically "preallocated" to 'standard functions: CC1= Modulation, CC7=Volume, CC10+Pan, CC11= 'Expression'. Some act as switches such as 'Sustain' CC64.

Mainstage works with MIDI CC's generally in a number of ways:
Some standard ones are automatically passed through to all MIDI/Instrument channels unless you specifically block them. Others are not passed through unless you specifically map them to something.
This mapping can be done basically two ways (with MS 2.2):
a) Make a Screen Control in Layout mode, and assign it to a particular incoming MIDI CC message. Then, you can map this Screeen Control to a variety of parameters such as the volume of a particular channel strip.
b) With MS 2.2, you can do the above Assign and Mapping directly, without the need for Screen Controls as an 'intermediary'.

Yes.
It sounds to me like you have an issue where you have several hardware controls on your Keyboard set up to transmit the same MIDI CC. This is probably not a good idea, and it would be much better if you assigned them to transmit different CC messages (CC1 for Modulation and probably CC11 for the Expression (though you may want to set the pedal to some other number instead.
Once you are transmitting different CC messages, you will be able to Assign and Map much more flexibly:
for example, you could one to control the overall output volume at Concert Level in MS, whilst the other controls the volume of a specific channel within a Patch.
Your issue of layered patches is one of "Scaling": one Screen Control (assigned to an incoming MIDI CC message) needs to alter the ranges of different channel strips to different amounts. You can set this up by using multiple mappings for one Control, each set to work over a particular range (for example a goes from -20 to 0 whilst b goes from -30 to -20 etc.).
