Bypassing apps asking for data service

i have seen a thread somewhere that someone asked about bypassing the data service and someone said it is possible and he gave inrtusctions but it doesnt work for me. i.e. i reallllly wanna use the facebook app but all i have is wifi, no data plan so when i click on the facebook app that i downloaded, it says cannot connect, need data service...
so my quesiton is... is there any way u can make the phone recognize the wifi instead of the data service so i can use the apps i want that need internet to work?

1. The Facebook for BlackBerry application REQUIRES the BlackBerry Data Plan, no way around that.
You can use m.facebook.com for the mobile fb website.
2. Look for an application named something like "ForceWiFi" for apps that choose between BIS data vs. WiFi data connection. This will NOT still allow proprietary RIM application like the Facebook application to work on WiFi only.

Podcasts app asks for cellular data even if the podcast is already downloaded

When playing a podcast without a wifi access, the Podcasts app asks for celluar data access. This is even for podcasts that have already been downloaded and should not require streaming.If I do not provide cellular data access, then the podcast cannot be played.
Is there a way to play downloaded podcasts without cellular data?

Why does my wife's calendar app ask for the password to my calendar account?

My wife and I used to have iPhone 4's. We each have a Google calendar, and we had our calendar apps set up so that each iphone would show both calendars. We never had any trouble.
Recently my wife and I switched to iPhone 5c's. Since then, whenever my wife tries to enter something into the calendar, the app asks for the password to my account. I don't have that problem on my phone. I'm pretty sure the phone apps are set up the same way. What gives?

It is possible that those 2 calendars are syncing Google accounts and being shared. My friend shares her calendar with me and it shows up in my calendar.

Upgraded to Mavericks. Calendar.app asks for password to sync calendar to Exchange account. Exchange server rejects password.

Wanted to chime in and say I'm having the same problem. Had to go back to Outlook which feels ancient. Hope Apple fixes this soon.

OS users for Data Service and Information Platform Service

Based upon the deployments of other customers, which combination of operating system and platform provides the most stable & reliable environment for Data Services / Data Integrator / Data Quality?

Windows is the platform most commonly used, so bugs are fixed faster there.
Unix is released usually a few months after the initial Windows version with all the fixes in it. Unix is commonly used by larger companies who would not accept any downtime.
Keep in mind, there is no Unix codeline of the product, all is the same source code just compiled differently.

for some features it wants it just say no if you don't want it to. remember apple has strict rules and dosent allow spying or anything like that.

I recently Changed my yahoo account and ID now apps ask for old ID and password. How can I delete the old id? The cloud app is really irritating about this.

The ID for apps will never change. They are locked to the Apple ID they were purchased/downloaded with. Apple ID and iTunes accounts cannot be merged, so you either delete the apps with the old ID and re-purchase/download them, or else you have to use the old Apple ID and password to update them.

Activation did not work, apps asking for serial number

Started a trail of a number of CC apps. When trial ran out, I purchased the monthly full suite service. All of my apps now require signing in, which results in an unrecognised serial (which I don't even get a chance to enter) and then asks for me to enter in a serial, which I have never been given. My understanding is that CC does not use serials, only my AdobeID.

OK, so I started going though these things and got stuck here:
Log in as an administrator to edit the hosts file in Mac OS.
In a Finder window, choose Go > Go To Folder.
Type /etc.
Select the hosts file and open it.
Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
Save and close the file.
Number "c." just says "select the hosts file" without telling you what the hell the hosts file is!!! And I cannot find anything there to do with Adobe

I had the same problem today and was able to resolve it without having to do a restore or reset. The problem had something to do with my mail accounts. The upgrade reset my mail settings, switching both my gmail and my .mac mail to "archive all mail". I went into the General Settings, disabled that setting, and resynced the phone. The "other" storage allottment dropped back down to less than a gig.
Before you restore or reset, I would try that first.

Changing CMS location for Data Services 4.0 on Unix

I'm new at this forum but think I'll stay for a while for the newest items of Data Services Products.
My question is if there's a way to change the initial CMS configuration that I put on the install procedure of Data Services 4.0 over a Unix server??
The reason is because now I will install DS 4 with IPS locally, but later we need to use the CMS of a BO 4.0 server locate on other machine.

you want to migrate your DS configuration from local IPS to a IPS(CMS) running on Unix server ?
I think you can do that by exporting the DS CMS related objects from local IPS to a BIAR file and importing them into CMS running on Unix (check if Upgrade Management Tool is available in IPS, you can use to do Export and Import)

Why are all my apps asking for permission again?

For some reason, the majority of my apps started asking for permission to use my photos, location, microphone or any other part of the system that requires permission upon first lunch. I did not do any system updates recently nor have I reset any warnings in the settings. Anybody else have this issue or know what could be causing it?

You won't be charged for downloading free apps (or other free items), you will only get a temporary store holding charge ($1 or the approximate local equivalent) to check that the card details are correct and that the card is valid, which will disappear within a few days or so.
But unless you used the instructions that I linked to in my previous reply when creating the account, then you won't be able to download anything (including free items) until you enter your card details.

Audigy 4 asking for XP Service Pack 2 CD, no such th

When installing Audigy 4, the software asks to put in the Windows XP Service Pack 2 CD. Of course there is no such CD as this PC came with Service Pack and was on line updated to Service Pack 2. The installation won't complete and continues to reinstall.
The actual message is "Some files on Windows XP Professional Service pack 2 CD are needed". This is very disappointing.

Only one app asks for wrong id

my mac book keeps asking me to update my imovies which i would but my mothers id comes up and does not let me delete id and put mine in why can i not delete it and update it. i updated my mums phone on this mac book pro as she didnt now how to why would this be happening?

Downloaded it from where? If you got it anywhere other than through the app store, what you have is an illegal bootleg. It's asking for the ID/password of the original purchaser.
