Bypassing restrictions by using installed apps
We implemented restrictions on my daughters iPhone removing access to Safari, installing apps, game center etc and seemed to work just fine.However, I realized just the other day that she figured out that you can use the Pinterest app, follow a link and then get access to a new browser and the user is able to fully browse the web and all content with no restriction. Is this a flaw with this app?

Did you try a reboot (by means of BOTH the Sleep and Home buttons and holding both IGNORING the slide to turn off, and keep holding until you finally see the Apple Logo?)

We have several iPads used by remote reps across the US, What we would like to do is use the built in restrictions for the iPad to not allow them to install apps or buy from the App Store. The problem is that if we have a new app that we are allowing, we would need to either have the iPads shipped to us, or we would need to provide the restriction code for them to install.
I want to be able to have the iTunes account for the company enabled on the iPads, with the Auto-Download New Apps enabled. That way when we purchase a new app on either our inhouse iPad, or via iTunes, it is also downloaded on the other iPads as well. Right now, if the Install Apps restriction is enabled, even the Auto-Install seems to fail or just skip the device. If there a way around this, or is it something that can be fixed in a future version?Not other than parental oversight. On the computer you can implement Parental Controls on a separate user account that they would use. You can then block certain websites. But you cannot do that on the iPad.
You could change your iTunes account such that they cannot access it in order to buy or download apps. -
How to update the apps while disable Settings General Restrictions Installing Apps ??

I will give my old iPad to my mom and I would like to disable "Settings>General>Restrictions>Installing Apps" so that she or other famliy kids will not unintentionally install some bad/garbage apps.
But I found a problem, without Apps Store, the apps already there will not be updated any more !! Am I right?
It seems that we need Apps Store for apps update, but disabling the "Settings>General>Restrictions>Installing Apps" will remove the Apps Store.
Does anybody know any way to work around? I mean the apps already there could be update while "Settings>General>Restrictions>Installing Apps" is disabled.

My ipod 4th gen screen kept jumping this morning. Had to do a restore to factory conditions and it is working fine now. However, it originally had a factory installed Nike+ app on it and it did not install with the restore. I use this app daily with the running chip to log my workouts. Anyone know how to get this app back from Apple? Loading the Nike app from the app store is not the same thing as you need gps running continually for it to work (as with an iphone). Can't have that with my ipod unless I'm connected to wifi. Help?? Thanks.
If you go to Settings do you see an entry for the Nike app? There is no way to delete or hide that app?
Have you tired using the Spotlight search? Maybe you just can't find it.
Next would be to restore a gain. First from backup then next to factory settings/new iPod.

Does work on the iPOd. You just do not get all the information that GPS/cellular connection can get. You will still be able to get distance/footstrikes like the installed app an you do not need the shoe sensor.. It uses the built-in sensors on the iPod -

Sign in to the iPhone or connect the phone to the computer and sign into the store using the original ID and download the apps to the phone?

Hi ,i bought a MacBookPro which came with Lion installed on it (i have registered my mac book pro right after i bought it), i also wanted to have a copy of the installation disc in case of a crash, so i used mac app store to get it.Normally if an app is already bought (for iphone app store) there is a warning or a sign that informs the buyer, than the app store lets the buyer to re-download/re-install the app.I've charged for this download afterwards, because i was using virtual credit card, there was not enough money transferred to that card during that download but the app store let me download it anyway. I haven't charged before the download, the app store first let me to download it then it requested that amount of money for next download wich it was a free app. Can anybody enlight me? thanks

Since Lion came pre installed on your Mac, the App Store doesn't not recognize that as a purchase so you if you want to re download Lion to create a boot disk you will have to pay for it. You can then re download Lion on all your authorized Macs for free. -
I have the 1st generation ipod touch i installed an update which now it is 3.1.3 version i was able to put my apps on it but when i want to use the apps it will not let me use them. What do i need to do?
Does it happen with the apps that came with the iPod?
Does it happen with all apps you have downloaded/installed?
Have you ried deleting the apps and redownload/install the apps? You will not be charged again if you are signed into the same iTunes account that originally purchased the apps.
Next would be to restore from backup
Last would be to restore to factory defaults/new iPod. -
Need help to install & use iErase app to zero out iPhone after restoring/erasing
I plan on buying a ew iPhone5 and trading in my iPhone 3GS. After doing much research on the topic, I've learned that the best way to ensure that no one can find personal data on my old phone is to restore it to the factory settings thus "erasing" all of my data and then to install and run the iErase app that will zero out the hard drive. I bought iErase on itunes and t's on my computer. I restored my old iphone (erasing all my purchased apps including iErase) but when I connect it to my computer to reinstall the iErase app, it syncs and reinstalls all of my personal settings, data, etc.. Am I missing a step? After restoring my phone, it seems that I might have to go into itunes on the phone and repurchase iErase ($6.99). The app iis designed to zero out the free space on the phone and will not touch whatever is installed. Thus I will have to enter my itunes password etc. which won't get zeroed out. I suppose I can just change that later. Any suggestions?

Also, I read the reviews as well as others on different sites and it seems that some people aren't using the app correctly. It only zeros out free space on the phone. Many seem to think that it will delete everything on the phone. That's incorrect. If you install and run it without restoring or ersaing your phone first, it will look like nothing happened. All of your info, apps and personal data will still be there. You have to delete all that stuff first (thus designating it as free space) and then run ierase to zero out the deleted info. At least, that's my understanding of how it works. -
How do I install apps on an iPhone without using appstore?
I'd Like to install a couple of apps on several iPhones without having to go through the AppStore on each one.
The users of these phones ar really lightweight users, so they'll never use the AppStore.
All they do is check/write e-mails and call/text.
The apps i want to install are "Telenor Faktura" and "Telenor Mobilt Bedriftsnett". They are apps released by a Norwegian mobile operator.
I've heard that it's possible to use iPhone Configuration Utility. But i don't know how to download and import the app-files.

If that does not work for you or whomever will be using the device, then maybe an iPhone is not the right solution for that person. -

What "app cleaner software" ? I ask because installing Photoshop over a previous version has never been a problem. Perhaps your difficulty stems from another source, eg. "cleaner software" ?
If you look in your hard drive, at the root level there is a Library. In there is a folder called Application Support, and in that you will find a folder called Adobe. Files from your previous version are there.
However, I urge you to call Adobe support to make sure you are not doing anything that would mess up other Adobe applications.

Installing apps using itunes....
I am unable to install apps on my iphone using itunes... My iphone ios and itunes both are up-to-date. When I sync my iphone with itunes then the sync stops after showing : 'Determining apps to sync'.... Please Help Me....

I installed Firefox sync and then used iphone app called FireFox Home and I can syncronize history, tabs and bookmarks. But I am NOT able to syncronize passwords from Firefox in my Macbook to FireFox Home on iPhone so I am very terrible to input my IDs and Passwords with my hands on FireFox Home when I log into Facebook, Twitter etc... Is it issue or something like that? If you have some solutions to make it clear, can you tell me how to syncronize memorized IDs and Passwords for the webs. Thank you.

Who does this iPad belong to? If someone else used their account then they paid for the apps. You will need to buy and pay for apps using your own account which means that you will no longer have access to the apps installed by the other person.

If this iPad belongs to you I suggest you reset the iPad to factory defauts and just use it with the apps that you've paid for. You will be able to re-download the apps from the iTunes app store after the reset.
