C#4 MIDI in not working

Playing C#4 through my Kurzweil K2600XS/MOTU MTP will not work in Logic Pro 8. I've opened different songs and get the same result. Never had this problem with Logic Pro 7.
I've ruled out the K2600XS or MTP as the problem because I tested C#4 on a stand-alone MTron and it worked. MTP shows data with I play C#4 but LP8 doesn't.
I'm guessing there's a filter somewhere or conflict but I just can't find it. Any clues?

I figured it had to be something easy. I had accidentally created a controller assignment and that was the problem. Earlier, I tried to launch the loop browser by using Cmd+L (seems obvious), but it actually opens the Controller Assignments. I must have hit C# while in learn mode. Once I deleted the assignment, all was well.

USB MIDI keyboard not working

Hi everyone,
I recently upgraded to a Macbook (White) and I haven't been able to get my MIDI keyboard to work with it. It's a Novation Remote 25 LE, and all of the documentation for it claims it is fully USB compliant and does not need any drivers to function. Well, that doesn't seem to be the case. I used the USB drivers for OS X that Novation has on their site to no avail.
The catch is, it worked flawlessly on my old 12" Powerbook without drivers. Comparing the two configurations, I notice that using the Audio MIDI Setup program under utilities the Remote LE shows up, but has no ports assigned to it, nor can I add any, while it has "Remote LE" listed under port on my old Powerbook. Anyone have an idea how I can get this up and running? Thanks in advance!

There's another user with a very similar issue to yours. It makes me think that Leopard is the problem here--unless you had Leopard installed on your PowerBook?

New Imac i5 (2011) CME UF6 Midi Controller not working!

I have a new 2011 iMac i5 2.7GHz Quad-Core.And my CME UF6 Midi Controller is not working . It works fine with my older mac book pro 1.83ghz intel core duo. I have installed the latest driver from CME which is for the intel macs. It shows up in the audio midi setup just fine. But when I click on "test setup" it will only play one note and stop. I will then have to rescan midi for it to play one note again,and again it stops. Same goes for when I use it in a Logic Pro 9 with all the newest updates applied it will play a few notes and stop working. Any help would be great I know it may be some time before I get any help because the this iMac just came out. By the way the imac is all up to date everything is up to date. And yes I have tried every single usb port on the iMac.

Keyboard back light on MBP 13 (mid 2009) not working

The keyboard back light on my MBP 13' (mid 2009) is not working does anyone have any idea how to fix that? First how do I find out if it's some misconfiguration I did or if it's really broken?

MIDI Does not work properly

Hi there,
I am new to audition and only got it today, however have used reason round a friends house so have some knowledge of how it works, I have created a new MIDI track and selected polysynth and all for the input and output, however when i try to play the virtual keyboard no sound comes out, i have imported a MIDI track and that plays fine, also the virtual keyboard works whenever the timeline is playing (even if the timeline is empty), is this how it shoul work or should i be able to hear the virtual keyboard without the track playing.

MIDI Keyboard Not Working With Logic Pro X

I have a MIDI keyboard that I've had for a while. I've upgraded to Logic Pro X, but the keyboard isn't working. I can't hear sound when I play it, nor when I record and try to play it back to myself. What's more frustrating is that I used this keyboard all of the time with Garageband, and there were no issues . It's a simple M-Audio DigiCore MIDI keyboard, and I've updated everything, but I just can't get it to play. I am new to this software, so I'm having a really difficult time navigating this as well, so any help is welcome.

Ok here's what happened, controller was working fine everything set up, then it quit. called tech help at sweetwater, the motu was not seen as a midi interface anymore...went to motus web site, downloaded update for 10.4.4 THAT WAS IT! now it works!

Why are none of my midi controllers not working with my new MacBook Pro?

I am running OS X 10.7.3
None of my M-Audio midi controllers are syncing with my new MacBook Pro.
They are all class-compliant and willl work on Mac OS X without the need of a driver is what M--Audio has posted on there website for all of my controllers.
I am using the following midi controllers:
Keystation 49e
Axiom 25
Trigger Finger
I purchased my new laptop all most 2 months ago and have not been able to start making music on it since. Lots of issues transitioning to Lion. I am still using my old macbook to make music. Any suggestions?

I've M Audio MIDI Keyboard 49, it's working fine with GarageBand but when I go Logic pro and try to record midi it record notes but I can't able to hear that notes and even I play record notes it not playing either. some can help me and can explain me where I'm going wrong?

Why won't my IMac Mid 2007 not work with ANY Microphone?

So I have recently received an IMac (Mid 2007) model that is used from my uncle. It is in GREAT condition with one flaw which I found out during a skype call. The mic didnt work. So I opened preferences, went to sound, went to input and saw that it was in "Internal Microphone". I changed it to Line In and used a separate microphone, still didnt work. Used another microphone to make sure it wasnt broken, didnt work. I have been looking online and didnt find anyone with my problem. It is so weird and I can't figure it out. On the other line the only time my friend (in the skype call) could hear anything was when I plugged in the external microphone and he thought it might work. I tried the sound with photo booth, skype, and just plain old volume. PLEASE HELP! I need to skype during my work on the computer!!! Thank you very much!

I have seen people run Windows 8 on a Mac product and would be willing to do that if there are no side effects to the cpu. Please tell me if there are any issues doing that, and if not tell me how.
This computer has 2GB of ram right now and is expandable to 6GB of ram. Is it possible to expand it over 6? And is it very difficult?
Should I upgrade to Mavericks. It is free and easy to download but I have been told that due to my low ram I should wait until I pump it up to 4 or 6GB of ram and then upgrade.

No. The term "line in" refers to the signal level the input can accept. It has nothing to do with the type of socket/plug.
I just checked what Line in is and i do have a line in spot in my mac. So why would i need to buy the IMic?
Because you need a microphone-level input, which can accept the lower level of signal that a microphone puts out, and again, no Mac has had a microphone-level input in years. Line level is a much stronger signal.
So you need:
- a microphone that puts out a line-level signal. There are a few, but not many.
or
- a USB microphone
or
- an audio device that can accept a microphone-level signal. The Griffin iMic is one, but there are others.

Midi Parameters not working with FCP X Effects

Hi...
I am creating a FCP X Effect in Motion 5.
In motion I am assigning a Midi Parameter to the Level Input Black Slider.
In Motion it works perfectly and the while turning my midi controller the Levels Input Black follows along, nicely.
Then I apply the effect inside FCP X but nothing happens when I turn the midi controller.
I HAVE published the midi node to the template but it somehow in FCP X it doesnt work...
Is FCP X not capable of Midi ??/

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this. I've searched on google, in this and many other forums. It seems like alot of people have this sort of problem. I've tried various solutions suggested to other people but to no avail. I actually have 2 problems. . MIDI-in isn't working2. I get the message "timeout error" when I try to send MIDI files to the keyboard using the SMF converter. I'm running widows XP Pro service pack 2, MSI K8N Neo motherboard, creative Audigy soundcard with the latest drivers, ATI All in one wonder graphics card, M-Audio Soundcard MIDI cable which connects to the game/joystick port which you can view [url="http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/SoundCardMIDICableMale0ft-main.html">here.[/url]?MIDI out works. I tried re-installing the Audigy drivers after using software to remove all other audio drivers. AC97 is disabled in the BIOS. I used the keyboard in AudioHQ to test? As for?the SMF converted, I don't understand why my keyboard?can play MIDI files from my computer but the converter doesn't work. I've tried many other things. Maybe a USB cable will work?Thanks.

External midi synth not working

I want to get my nord wave (hardware synth) working in logic.
My main audio interface i use is the apogee duet, but since that doesn't have midi in/out ports, i am connecting the nord to midi in and out to my native instruments audio8 interface.
I have connected the nord going midi in (from nord) to midi out (on the audio8) and midi out (on the audio8) to midi in (on the nord). The nord is also connected to my mac pro with usb and is also powered by mains.
When i go to the audio midi setup on the mac, it doesn't see my nord at all.
I have gone into logics environemnt and tried all sorts of things to get it working but just cannot get the nord working.
I can use the nord as a midi keyboard to play soft synths in logic, but can't get it to play on an external midi track.
Any help or suggestions would really be appreciated.

That is twice Nord Midi in and twice Audio8 out. Are you sure?
From Nord to Audio8 would mean Nord MIDI Out to Audio8 Midi in, in my book...

well, it shouldn't. AMS only lists Interfaces automatically. You should create the Nord yourself and cable it virtually in AMS as you have cabled it physically.

To use Midi coming from Logic to the Nord you must load the AU instrument *External Instrument* in a Midi/Software Instrument track. Also see p. 237 and further of the LP8 User Manual.

Audio MIDI Setup not working, please help

I am using a macbook pro with Lion OSX 10.7.4. I've been trying to setup my ipad as a wireless MIDI controller but when i open up network in the MIDI window in Audio MIDI setup i just get 'MIDI device properties', instead of midi device setup.
I also noticed that there is no com.apple.audio.AudioMIDISetup.plist file in my preferences folder.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Try dragging the following .plist(s) to the desktop and rebooting:

They are in
~/Library/Preferences
If you still think you need to reinstall the entire app, use Pacifist and extract it from your original Leopard DVD.
