C# example zip has virus

The topic titled Import Microsoft Help into C# Example is a
zip file from here:
http://www.adobe.com/support/robohelp/htmlhelp.html
I downloaded it and sent it to someone in email. The
following message appeared in my inbox:
"Symantec Mail Security has detected an unrepairable virus in
a message sent from your address". The recipient received a message
that the zip file is quarantined.
Any idea what might be the problem?
Thank you.

Hi all
I share Peter's opinion about being surprised if Adobe would
have a download infested with a virus. However, I am also aware
that sometimes even the best of plans can fail.
I too tested by downloading the file and scanning it using my
virus software. I see Peter did the same, but his virus software is
AVG. Mine is Symantec Norton anti-virus. It's fully patched with
the latest updates and virus signature files as well.
Cheers... Rick

  • I am having trouble with some of my links having images. For example, Foxfire has a picture that looks like a small world. The links in question are blank.

I am having trouble with my links/websites having images attached to them. The place where the image should be is blank. For example, AARP has an A for its image. My storage website has a blank broken box where the image should be. I forgot I had trouble and had to reset Foxfire, this problem occurred after that reset.

    cor-el,
Mixed content normally gives the world globe image, unless you are using a theme that uses a broken padlock instead. Maybe the gray triangle means invalid? I came across that in a few themes (what is invalid was not made clear), but those were not using triangle shapes to indicate that.
I came across that mention in one of the pages you posted:
    * https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Site+Identity+Button
I cannot attach a screenshot because I have not seen a triangle of any kind in my address bar.

  • How to run order-jsf-jpa-example.zip in JDeveloper?

What is the easiest way to make order-jsf-jpa-example.zip from the link http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/toplink/jpa/examples-index.html to run in JDeveloper?
    Step by Step please.
    Thanks

You can use the JDeveloper "project from existing source" to create a new project that is based on this code.
You can then use the built in Ant support to run the build file.

How do I fix my computer that has virus?

What specific behavior are you seeing that makes you think it has a virus?
One common thing that is often blamed on viruses these days is adware, which causes pop-up ads, new tabs and redirects to other sites in your web browser. If this is what you are experiencing, see my Adware Removal Guide.
(Fair disclosure: I may receive compensation from links to my sites, TheSafeMac.com and AdwareMedic.com.)

  • Computer has virus

computer has virus and there is two programes coming on my computer mac-pro and web-crawler

What are the outward symptoms indicating a 'virus' to you?
Depending on the symptom, it may actually be an adware.
    •TheSafeMac - Tech Guides:
    http://www.thesafemac.com/tech-guides/
There is almost no chance of the matter being related to a virus.
However there may be adware or malware from some site that
was accidentally installed along with something else you sought
from there, which may have been a corrupted or doctored file on
a web page with a bad reputation; or a link to get one thing, that
actually delivered something else to your computer.
Some odd-ware will affect a web browser, so that can misdirect
or offer different and unexpected buttons, web pages, etc.
So with more information on your computer, & the OS X it is running
someone may be able to help narrow the focus to see what's in it.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • I have bought a second hand ipod 4, but it has the previous owners details all over it, for example it has her email address when trying to update facebook.  How do I update it with my email address?

I have just purchased a second hand ipod touch 4.  The previous owners details are still in it, so for example when I try to update the facebook app it asks me for the previous owners password, and shows the previous owners email address.  How do I change it all to my details?  I have already synced it with itunes and all of my music is now in it, and it's also renamed on the itunes page when I attach the ipod to my PC.  I've also been in to the 'info' page, 'Advanced' and then 'Replace information on this ipod with mail accounts from this computer' then finally 'apply', but it still has the other persons ID.

I've answered my own question!  I now understand that you can't use apps as they are always going to be linked to the original owner.  I've since deleted the app and downloaded it again, and all is now well!

  • I visited a website on my iPad and just found out the website has viruses

A few days ago I visited a website on my iPad. I visited the same website on my computer today and while on the website, a message from my virus scanner popped up saying it is blocking two potentially harmful malicious threat. I then scanned my computer and two malicious virus were found.
I am concern if my iPad is going to get the viruses also. how do I check or know for sure my iPad is safe from harmful viruses?

Yes my computer is a PC. Nothing to worry about is good news.
Except now I am having problems with my PC. Any chance anyone can help me out with this? So my Microsoft Security essentials scanner detected two threats and a pop up telling me it has blocked and suspended the threats. Then it asked me to clean my computer by restarting. I did that. Scanned my computer again, once  i restarted it, and the scan found another threat. I decided to let it scan completely before fixing any problems. Except half way through, the scan no longer detected the threat and once the scan completed, it said it found nothing.
So then I surf the Internet (this time clicking only on reliable sites), the microsoft security pops up again saying the same thing (detected threat, blocked and suspend it). I cleaned my computer again.
Re-scanned the computer (without visiting any sites) and the scan detected another threat. I can't seem to get rid of it.
What should I do? All I know is that the scan says it found this - trojan:win32/sefnt
    Is this bad?

  • My iPhone5 has virus how can I delete it?

Hi to all!!! I am a new member!!! I would like a help please!! My iphone5 has infected from virus... What can I do?

Your iPhone CAN'T get a virus.   It was designed that way by Apple.  It has NEVER happened.
You are being scammed by a Phishing attempt.    Most will direct you to enter your personal information that allows a hacker to get into your email or credit card information to steal from you.
Do not respond to phishing attempts.
Unless you were fool enough to jail break your phone.   In which case, you need to restore with iTunes (un jailbreak) to fix the problem.

The 8i Personal Ed. R3 V8.1.7 for Win98 zip file has duplicate filenames.
This is a real pain to choose the latest version of the file.
The pkzip extract option to skip older files does not choose the most current version.
Why does the zip file contain duplicates???
It should just have the most current version of the file. What a PAIN!

I realized that my PKZIP Extract options were not correct.
One MUST enable USE FOLDER NAMES otherwise it puts all files in one directory, and cannot find them.

  • Old computer has virus, need new library.

My old computer that we had Itunes on for my Ipod, has unfortunately gotten a virus. That computer is now not working anymore and we are now using a different computer for Itunes. The question i ask is, how may I put the songs from the Ipod, onto the new computer? I have an Ipod nano 2nd gen, and i just need to know how to transfer them. I might be getting a new zune, and i want to get the songs that are on my ipod now onto Itunes so I could put them on the new zune later. Please answer.

If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
The transfer of content from sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:
Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
TuneJack Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    SharePod Windows Only

    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows
    Floola Mac & Windows
iGadget Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

  • Windows xp partion side has virus cannot open

My windows xp partion side has a virus. When i get to log in the main screen comes up then kicks out quickly to a blue screen with info but disappears so quickly I cannot read it, then the computer loops to restart again. How can I fix to enter the xp side. Mac side is fine.

I would try hitting the F8 key when it boots or before it gets to the BSOD, choose Safe boot, if you can get in, change the "Automatically reboot" setting in System Parameters or uncheck the box. It is set that way by default, so when it pukes it restarts and does it over and over.
Don't you have some old clunker you can install that on?

  • Any example customer has migrated from Oralce Forms to ADF?

Any benchmark or how many customers have done the migration from Forms to ADF?
Btw, is all kind of Froms convertible by Froms2ADF tools ?
    thanks for any suggestion.

Here is my view on this:
In general, people tend to underestimate the effort involved in migrating from Forms to ADF.
Migration tools like the JHeadstart Forms2ADF Generator can be of help, but are by no means a silver bullet.
    When does JHeadstart save time
The amount of work that can be saved by using the JHeadstart Forms2ADF Generator (JFG) very much depends on the structure of the Oracle Forms application at hand. The JHeadstart Forms2ADF Generator provides most savings for forms that have the following characteristics:
    - Standard-Forms data retrieval and data manipulation through blocks based on database tables, with master-detail relations defined between the block
    - Complex user interface, many (stacked) canvasses, many tabs, many list of values, and other display types
    - PL/SQL logic mostly limited to user interface dynamics: conditionally showing/hiding user interface items, and conditionally changing the properties of user interface items. While JHeadstart does not convert PL/SQL logic, this type of logic is easily implemented in the ADF application because JHeadstart provides many declarative property settings to implement this behavior.
    PL.SQL Logic
JHeadstart has made the deliberate choice to not automatically convert the PL/SQL logic to Java. The reasons for this are:
    - It is impossible to automate the migration of a two-tier architecture (logic in Forms or in the database) to a three tier Model-View-Controller architecture as is common in JEE web applications, including ADF-based applications.
    - The architecture of the converted application should be identical to the best-practice architecture of an ADF application that is build from scratch. If the architecture is the same, the same skill set can be used to maintain both migrated applications and ADF applications build from scratch. In addition, by going for a best practice architecture, the application is more flexible, and can be maintained easier at lower cost.
    - When using the JHeadstart Forms2ADF Generator, you get this best-practice ADF architecture that is identical to ADF/JHeadstart applications that are built from scratch.
    Other Forms2ADF Considerations
Even if it turns out the JFG adds value, there are many other questions the customer should ask himself before embarking on a Foms2ADF project. For example:
    - Apart from technical reasons like old Forms verisions no longer supported, are there real business reasons and business benefits for migrating that justify the migration effort?
    - To what extent is the application still meeting functional requirements?
    - Are there issues with stability and end user friendliness?
    - Old forms applications are typical "window-on-data" screens, you see the structure of the datamodel through the layout of the screens. Modern web 2.0 composite applications are more task-oriented with good support for human workflow. The customer should consider to what extent it wants to leverage all these new user interfaces capabilities that come with ADF Faces and WebCenter.
    - How does the application fits in the overall IT landscape of the customer? What interfaces to other systems exist, what (old/obsolete?) technology is used to implement those interfaces?
    - What about batch functionality and reporting facilities?
    - May be part of the functionality of the current system can be replaced with standard off-the-shelf software?
    - How sound, well structured and future proof is the underlying datamodel?
    - To what extent is the customer looking at service-orientated architectures? Whats the SOA maturity level of the customer?
    - Above questions help to answer the key question: how desirable and beneficial is it to migrate an old monolitic forms application 1:1 to a monolitic ADF aplication? How does that fit in overall IT strategy?
    - Organisational isues: who will migrate the system, who will maintain the system? Is outsourcing considered? etc.
    Some customer experiences
Over the years I have been involved with a number of customers that migrated from Forms to ADF. With some of these customers we used the Forms2ADF Generator in the proof-of-concept phase to convince them of the combined power of ADF and JHeadstart. However, with NONE of these customers we used the Forms2ADF Generatpr during actual migration, for various reasons as listed above. All customers eventually chose to truly re-engineer the application while rebuilding in ADF achieving signifcant new business benefits that justified the investment. A choice recommended and encouraged by me, despite the fact I am the creator of the JFG. Note that ALL customers use JHeadstart heavily forbuilding the re-engineered ADF application, they just don't use the Forms2ADF generator, but the JHeadstart Application generator to create the ADF app from scratch.

    yikes!

Read the discussion after the article carefully, please.
I've read it more than once already. I know what it says. But thanks.
All programs MUST RUN in order to do anything.
Of course. Somebody has to start it off. And that person is the one who wrote it.
Viruses do not and cannot simply install themselves.
You can't be serious. Windows users would heartily disagree that they need to do anything to receive and propagate the thousands of viruses and worms they have to deal with.
The whole point here is that computer scientists have broken down these types of malware by catagory to define how they operate once in the wild. Not how they start.
A virus or worm, once started, requires no interaction with the user to continue its own duplication or spreading. Windows viruses only need (in most cases) access to your email address book. They will happily send themselves back out to everyone in your book without any interaction from you. Or copy themselves from one Word document to another in the case of macro viruses. Again, without any help from you, or even your knowledge. Worms don't even need that. They duplicate by searching out other computers on their own. Again, no interaction by you is necessary. All a worm requires is that your computer is on so it can attempt to find it and copy itself to you.
A Trojan Horse, however, is dumb. It cannot replicate or do whatever it is written to do until you intentionally run it yourself.
