C-key with CD, yes. OPTION with CD, no.

Our venerable office G4 MDD Powermac (1 GHz dual processor, 10.4.11) wanted some housecleaning, so I popped in a DiskWarrior CD (3.0.3 R39). I attempted to reboot using the OPTION key, and while both the boot drive and the CD showed up in the choice window, the ticking watch cursor never changed to the pointer so I could click the startup disk I wanted - even after 10 minutes. I had to shut down using the power button.
On restart, I instead held the C key, and booted without incident into the DiskWarrior CD's OS.
After running DW, I tried OPTION again, and same result: Can see both startup disks (computer and CD) but the watch cursor never stops running. I've tried this also with a Drive Genius boot CD; same weirdness. Help?

  • Number 2 key(with "at" symbol) is not working......

    Hi,
i am using HP 15-d006tu Notebook PC with windows 8 os.
Recently i started facing a serious problem ie key with numer 2 and at symbol is not working. my model is having numeric keypad so i can type 2 with that but i am not able to type at symbol. Finding it really hard to copy paste the email addresses or the symbol alone. i checked whether it is jammed or something like that but nothing is there and its pressing like anyother key but when i press that key nothing is happening.
kindly let me know whether it is a hardware issue or some virus or something like that????
Should i take my device to the service center and change the entire keypad???
Really finding this problem a big headache. Its not even 1 year since i bought this laptop.
    Please please guide me.....
    Thank in advance

    Hi
Did you try connecting to USB keyboard and check?
    Shut down the notebook
    unplug the AC Adapter
Disconnect all the external peripheral devices
    then remove the battery
Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds
Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter
Tap away at the ESC key as you start the notebook to see if this will launch the Start-up Menu
then select F10 to enter the bios menu
Press F5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes F9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key )
use the arrow keys ( assuming they work in this menu ) to select 'Yes' and hit enter
Press F10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
If that doesn't resolve the problem, then it's probably hardware issue,
You can confirm it by testing keyboard from BIOS:

  • 2 same surrogate keys with different filter conditions in one report

how do we put 2 same sr keys with different filter conditions in one single report??
for example, we have to get the 'count' for tm_sr_key:
    1. count(tm_sr_key) where past_due_flag = Y
    2. count(tm_sr_key) where past_due_flag = Y and N
to be displayed in one single report.
it happens that both sr_keys will display the same measure (which is the 1st filter conditions)
and the filter under criteria tab in anwer will show as :
    tm_sr_key where {filter condition 1}
    AND
    tm_sr_key where {filter condition 2}
    instead of :
    tm_sr_key where {filter condition 1} for 1st measure
    tm_sr_key where {filter condition 2} for 2nd measure
d only option i could think right now is to duplicate the tm_sr_key data in the same table but with different name say, tm_sr_key_2..
    kindly pls help.
    thanx

    i'm sorry, not really understand.
could you pls explain a bit more about the filter column? how do we do it? coz i'm really new in this tool.
r u talking about editing the filter located under the column on the right side of the OBIEE answers?
or is it by editing the 'edit column formula' for required column; that is by replacing the 'column formula' expression with this:
FILTER(EXPS_FACT.FAC_SR_KEY USING EXPS_FACT.PAST_DUE_FLAG = 'Y') <----if it is like this, i tried it already & its giving me an error message..
    thanx.

  • How to unlock ssh keys with lxde

I'm running a minimal setup with lxde.  What manages ssh keys under lxde?  I want to have my user's key unlocked when logged in so I can ssh and scp at will.
    Thanks!

I have faced the same issue (with a WM like fluxbox/openbox, not LXDE).. There is no specific program that manages ssh keys in LXDE.
From my research, there are 3 possible solutions -
    1) You can start the gnome-keyring (or is that seahorse) in LXDE (or any WM). This can manage your ssh keys
    2) You can generate a new ssh key with empty passphrase.. That way, you will not be asked for passphrase everytime.. This is what I use.. Very simple to configure and use.. Note: The private key will be stored unencrypted on the disk if the passphrase is empty. It may be a security concern
    3) Use "ssh-agent" and "ssh-add" command to remember the passphrase after you type it once..
You can use the snippet below:
    $ eval `ssh-agent`
$ ssh-add [optional ssh private file if not ~/.ssh/id_rsa]
    <enter passphrase>
More detailed configuration here - http://www.mtu.net/~engstrom/ssh-agent.php
Once you have done a ssh-add, the next time you can just start ssh-agent in the background. You can spawn an ssh-agent process when starting your X session.

The site is wrong and makes up its own terminology as it goes along.
If the value for clustering factor approaches the number of blocks in the base table, then the index is said to be clustered. http://www.oracle.com/pls/db112/search?remark=quick_search&word=clustered+index
There is no create clustered index in Oracle.
    - Clustering factor affects the efficiency of an index.
    - There can be clustered tables that you can create indexes on.
    - An Index Organized table is a similar concept to the Microsoft SQL Server clustered index, but it isn't the same thing at all.

  • Creating a ODS key with 32 characteristics in BW 3.5

    All,
We have to create a ODS key with 32 characteristics in BW 3.5. We are using an after image type delta capable extrator 0FI_GL_10. We have to do delta loads every 2 hours.
As you all know ODS allows only 16 key fields. In order to allow 32 keys, I have created an artificial key with 17 fields concatinating into one in the transfer rules.
The problem is still the data is not coming correctly (some records are still getting overwritten even with then new key) with the delta init load and the interesting thing is that the full load into the ODS is getting the data right.
In other words, a delta init load is getting 95680 records and where as full load is getting 99680 records.
Have anybody come accross such situation and what would be helpful to solve this issue?
    Thanks,
    - Shashi

I assume your CHAR 60 is enough to hold all the fields that you are concatenating.
Other problem with concatenate is that it strips the leading and trailing blanks.
So let us say you have two fields F1 (char 5) and F2 (char 3)
    F1_________F2
    A1_________03
    A10________3
    A12________22
Now, follow what happens with concatenate F1 and F2. Row 1 will result in value 'A103', row 2 will also result in 'A103' and row 3 would be 'A1222'.
So, even though combination of F1 and F2 was unique in these three rows, after concatenate we get only two unique values.
This is one possible explanation. The oher ofcourse is if total length of 17 fields is more than the 60bytes you have in key field.
To avoid this move your values with exact length (in the example above it will then be like)
    Key(5) = F1.
    Key+5(3) = F2.

  • TS1381 My left arrow does not work on my macbook pro(model A1226).  I have reset nvram, performed a safe boot, pulled the cache to desktop, replaced .globalpreference.plist, test all other keys with keyboard view (all others work)  - HELP!!

My left arrow does not work on my macbook pro(model A1226).
I have reset nvram, performed a safe boot, pulled the cache to desktop, replaced .globalpreference.plist, & tested all other keys with "keyboard viewer" (all other keys work except for the arrow).
In addition, I have gone thru all the recommended checks with universal access and have booted from snow leopard dvd and the left arrow still does not work.
I have tried using the left arrow key in all of applications I use such as: excel, ms word, address book, calendar, iphoto, terminal, & highlighting an icon and using the arrows to move to another selected icon.
Here is the kicker!  In addition, I purchased a logitech solar bluetooth keyboard and the arrows work fine with my ipad but do not work when paired with the macbook pro. All other keys work fine on the macbook pro using the bluetooth keyboard.
I believe this says that the problem is not in my macbook pro keyboard. So where can it be?
Can anyone think of any other rabbit holes I can search?
    thanks and regards

I would also like to add that I've reverted the two cd drive and hard drive mods I did and the laptop is back to factory hardware and there is 0 corrosion or mold visible.

    This looks suspect -DataOutputStream dataOutputStream = new DataOutputStream(socket.getOutputStream());
ObjectOutputStream out = new ObjectOutputStream(socket.getOutputStream());It is normally a bad idea to attach a single OutputStream to 2 or more 'filter' streams.
You could always sent the data as an object i.e.out.writeObject(encryptedBytes);Also, you make the assumption that the encrypted length is the same as the file length. With PKCS5Padding this is never the case since it pads with 1 to 8 bytes to make up to the block size. This is probably the cause of the BadPaddingException. If you send the encrpted data over as an object then you don't need to send the length.
Your stream uses in the client and server differ. You have no DataInputStream in the server to match the DataOuputStream in the client. To be safe, stick to Object streams or Data streams but don't mix.
P.S. Isn't sending the key with the cipher text a litte insecure!!!

  • Set up Depreciation Key with specific depreciation date

    Hi Gurus,
Our system is ERP 4.7. I am trying to set up the depreciation key with the specific depreciation date. Here is more detail; I have the tax requirement that the asset will get depreciated at 25% until 03/31/08 and 20% from 04/01/08. Is there a way that we can set up according to the requirement?
Here is an example based on the logic. The asset is capitalized on 01/01/08 with the acquisition value, $1000. That means at 01/01/09 the accumulation depreciation will be 212.5 ( 3 month at 25% and 9 month at 20%). After 01/01/09 the asset will be depreciate with 20% until becoming $0
I have been investigating in Multi-Level Methods, but it seem like I can define only year and period.
If you know the solution, could you please provide with the detail how to set up?

  • REQUEST: Switch LEFT Fn key with RIGHT Ctrl key for GX740?

Hello Svet, is it possible to switch the LEFT Fn key with my RIGHT Ctrl key on the GX740?  I can say I never touched the right Ctrl key and having both Ctrl keys side by side on the left of the keyboard will make it infinitely easier to hit any one of the Ctrl keys when gaming.

I think what he means is, that where most people want the two [Fn] and [Ctrl] keys swapped on the left of the spacebar, he wants the [Fn] key swapped with the [Ctrl] key to the right of the spacebar instead.
(Off-topic: one thing I do like with my Wind U135DX, is that there is a second [Fn] key on the right-hand side of the keyboard , but I never had a problem with the [Fn] and [Ctrl] keys needing to be swapped, I just got used to it instead )

    Hi guys,
is there a bios-fix to reverse/swap the keys functions of the "Fn" key with "Left Ctrl" for the MSI Wind U110. I don't know why this keyboard is still that disfunctional. I think this is a well known issue, people complaining about for a long time. I am really hoping that you can help me.

Have you tried using the 'Search' function up there.
I did. But maybe I'm to stupid to do it right. I found this thread http://forum.msi.com.tw/index.php?topic=121066.0 but there is nothing about the U110. If I'm searching for U110 I get only three topics (one is this one). I guess I shouldn't use any bios hack from a other model.
May you're willing to help me a little bit more. Thank you.

wrap a view around your table with this bogus primary key. Use an instead of trigger to handle the inserts and updates. And then look at using surrogate keys to resolve these bad design issues...
