  • Error when trying to download iTunes 10.6.3 for Windows XP

I am receiving the following error when trying to download iTunes 10.6.3 for Windows XP:
There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package.
I have looked a several sites that have suggested several fixes, but nothing seems to work. I dont know what program I need to install so I can download iTunes; it never tells me that.
    Please help!
    Thanks

Have you tried the following user tip with that one?

  • I am getting a runtime error when trying to download itunes

I keep bgetting a runtime error when trying to download itunes

Not there aren't any special settings for this. You just use the Open In feature to save the document into Pages. You could have a font in the document that Pages doesn't like, maybe something that you copied and pasted from somewhere into the document that went corrupt. But there is nothing special about the way that you save a Word document into Pages. You save it like you save any document or file into a compatible app.

  • I'm getting an 'objects already exist' error when trying to download itunes

My iPhone 6 wouldn't connect to iTunes since it need to update. So I went to uninstall iTunes and all it's contents. I went to download iTunes again, but when I did I received an 'Object already exists' error. I went to look at more information on the Apple website and I tried everything I could but I keep receiving the error. I uninstalled anything related to Apple on my computer and I went to the Program Files folder on my computer and found nothing related to Apple so I'm pretty sure I deleted all the data already. I really need help with this. I have a Windows 7 computer.

For "Object already exists" or "Access denied" errors when installing try opening Control Panel > Programs and Features > View installed updates then checking for Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB2918614). Uninstall if you have it, then reboot and try installing again.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for performance issues.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • "Could Not Find Key" error when trying to download iTunes 7

Everytime I try to install iTunes 7, it gets about half way done and then says that it cannot find some sort of key (HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Classes\QuickTime.QuickTime\CLSID is the full text FYI). I have no clue what this means since I'm a far cry from a computer whiz. Any help would be awesome.

Here you go, this should do it.

  • I am getting an error when trying to download new iTunes software to new Windows 7 computer.

I am getting an error when trying to download iTunes to a new Lenovo laptop with Windows 7.  Says... An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type="win32",version="8.0.50727.6195",publicKeyToken="1fc8b 3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="86".  HRESULT:0x80070BC9
Please help if anyone knows how to fix or bypass this problem.

These ones are tricky. But the following instructions are worth a try.
First do a complete uninstall of iTunes and related components (but don't reinstall just yet), as per the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    a. Launch regedit (Start >> Search Programs and Files >> type Regedit and open the regedit that comes up.)
    b. Access the following Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData \S-1-5-18\Components
    c. Perform the following actions
    i. Right Click on Components Folder
    ii. Select Permissions
iii. Select Full Control and Read Permissions options
    iv. Select Advanced Button
    v. Select Owner Tab
vi. Select to Change Owner to the Administrators
vii. Check the option “Replace owner on subcontainers and objects”
viii. Select OK when prompted that it may not change all.
    ix. Select Apply
    x. Select Apply again
    xi. Exit the Registry Editor
Now try reinstalling iTunes again. Does it go in properly this time?

When trying to download iTunes, I get an error message saying "the instaler encountered errors before iTunes could be configured. Errors occured during installation."  But it gives me no more information as to what I can do.  Help please?

Also I now can`t access any of my itunes library and am concerned that if I remove it from my computer I will lose everything as I have no option of accessing and therefore backing anything up. Any ideas?

I keep getting an msvcr80.dll error when trying to download newest version of iTunes.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

    Hey there davidgor2!
I have found an article that should help you resolve this issue with updating your iTunes. The article can be found here:
    iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297
and the specific part of the article you will want to look at first is right here:
    "Error 42023" through "Error 42408"
These alerts might occur when trying to authorize iTunes or during launch when iTunes checks for authorization information.
Install the latest iTunes from apple.com/itunes/download/
    Remove the SC Info folder.
If that does not resolve the issue, see iTunes: "Error 42408" or "Error 42404" after upgrading to iTunes 9.0.3.
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.)

  • Error stopping 'Bonjour Service' when trying to download itunes 9.2

i recently tried to update itunes to 9.2 on my windows. The automatic download had an error so i ended up having to do it manually. When trying to download itunes, i encountered an error message saying that bojour services could not be stopped. It asked me to verify that I have sufficient privelages to stop system services (??!!). I decided I would try to delete bonjour all together, but i couldn't find it anywhere on my computer. I am so confused and all i really want is to update itunes. Please help!!

    HRESULT: 0x8007054f.
... that seems to have been the most popular alphanumeric code in recent days. (Just like katherine's one.)
In general, these ones tend to be caused by underlying problems on the PC that can prevent Windows Updates from installing. So my main strategy with them is to try to fix the Windows Update issues. If we can get Windows Updates flowing again, that generally clears up the iTunes install errors +en passant.+
Head into your Windows Update, and check for any new updates. Do any fail? If so, open your Update History and doubleclick on the failure entries to bring up a small box with alphanumeric error message codes. Are you getting 8000FFFFs? (They often seem to be associated with an iTunes-install 0x8007054f.)
If you're getting 8000FFFFs, try the following Microsoft document:
    [Windows Update Error 8000FFFF|http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Windows-Update-Error- 8000FFFF]
Head back to Windows Update, and see if you can get Updates to install successfully this time. If you can get updates now, stock up on any updates you're behind on. Once you're completely up to date in that regard, try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • TS3274 I keep getting an error when trying to download a tv series right on my iPad from the iTunes store. I am able to download on my laptop then synchronize but it's a hassle specially if my laptop is not with me. All other Apps seem to be working fine.

I keep getting an error when trying to download a tv series right on my iPad from the iTunes store. I am able to download on my laptop then synchronize but it's a hassle specially if my laptop is not with me. All other Apps seem to be working fine. Help!

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.
