C'n'Q crashing my Windows Vista

Hi,
few weeks ago I chanched old winchester 3000+ to 3800+ venice. at least i got my ram working on 400MHz, games runing without any problems.
I often leaving PC on whole night with some downloads so C'n'Q is important for me.
When i put C'n'Q on in bios my PC start crashing (usualy during closing IE), i turn it off and everything working good again. my bios i set as Optimized Defaults (not Optimized in Cell Menu so its NOT overclock in any way)
i'm not overclock my ati too coz i cant find software which cant do this in Vista.
i'm not using any windows software to C'n'Q and any MSI software too
any ideas how to safe my bills ?

call me noob but i cant find it in my bios
That's because this board does not have a smart fan function.
By the way: isn't AMD's C&Q being supported by Vista out-of-the-box? It would seem logical that this new Windows does support this all by itself...? Please check this!

I have the nVidia nForce controller mentioned in the knowledge base article in my new laptop...and of course I'm having that issue. HP wasn't able to resolve the issue, but they did say that they had reports of that issue on an Intel based SATA controllers also. I haven't tried external hard drives yet, but CD's, USB keys, etc. (basically anything that isn't an SATA hardrive) all seem to work fine so you may just want to find an external something large enough for your video files and put them there till someone figures out what's happening. It's somewhat annoying as it means one more thing to carry around if your portable like I am, but the iTunes library doesn't care where the file is so long as it knows where to look for it and it could be worse. As an example, I haven't taken my own advise and I'm using a 1GB USB key for 1hr TV show episodes that average 503MB...you do the math on that one.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 crashing in Windows Vista - Need help

    Hi,
I have installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 in my system which has OS Windows Vista with SP1 and everytime I open a pdf using my newly installed adobe acrobat it crashes.
The general trend it after 10 seconds from opening that pdf file, it just automatically closes itself. I checked the system process and didn't see the adobe process running after it closed itself. So I feel it just crashes for some unknown reason.
I have 1440 X 900 resolution. Don't know if that can be a problem, but I have tried reducing the resolution too but with no help.
Can anyone help me solve this problem.

  • Captivate crashes in Windows Vista

Discovered this problem a couple of days ago. Captivate will
crash when trying to record narration in Windows Vista. Captivate
cannot see the microphone and will not adjust audio levels.
FIX - The fix is rather simple. Find the AdobeCaptivate.exe
(not the shortcut on the desktop), right click the file, select the
Compatibility tab, check the box "Run in compatibility mode" and
make sure Windows XP Service Pack 2 is selected in the drop-down.
It's possible this may fix other problems running Captivate under
    Vista.

  • RoboHelp 7 crashes in Windows Vista

RH7 crashes consistently in Windows Vista, but it never used to. It always crashes at the same point.
    To replicate the error:
    1. I open the project. RH7 connects to RoboSource and attempts to grab the latest version.
    2. RH7 starts chugging away and then RH7 closes unexpectedly.
I've already tried uninstalling/installing RH7 and RoboSource from scratch.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

  • Dreamweaver crash on Windows Vista

I'm having a lot crashes using dreamweaver on Windows Vista,
does any one have the same problem or where I can find a solution
    of this problem, thanks

    Hi,
the answers here are more than discouraging. first of all was
vista supposed to chip a long time ago. this would have left adobe
a long time to test the product and if it could not be fixed to
issue an warning. it did not do so and that means that adobe was
    negligent in its communication.
in addition adobe more or less abandoned the mac market a few
years ago (no CF server, no Videoproducts, etc.) in favor of the
windows platform. it there can be assumed that adobe/macromedia
will support this platform asap and not refer to some time in the
    future.
what does this mean for users like us: adobe cannot be used
on the mac platform serioulsy due to the lack of native support for
our intel machines. adobe products cannot be used on the
windowsplatfrom due to incompatibilites. since we are a coldfusion
partner we have no choice but to uninstall vista everywhere and
reinstall XP. who pays us for the time and the licenses.
i cannot understand how adobe for the second time missed the
boat on such an important technology switch. they missed the intel
platform switch and are more than 1 1/2 year late and now they
missed the vista switch... incredible for products that are on the
    highprice side of the market.
adobe has the option of either changing it price modell to
low cost solutions or by offering ASAP patches and speeding up a
    free upgrade for vista users....
a frustrated and deeply concerned user of former macromedia
    products.

By "unchecking" the 3D option in Quicktime I now can view my videos.
However, I did this after following the instructions exactly in article HT1923, which took me about an hour to do.    I've been trouble shooting this problem all afternoon.  It seems to me that Apple should have Quicktime load without the 3D option and then notify the viewer that if they want to view a movie in 3D they should select that option.  By the way when I last checked very few video cards will support bluray let alone 3D.
On a side note, you U seen any of the production of the hobbit movie?  Can't wait to see it with my 3 grandsons.
    Thanks again!

  • Macbook Pro and ATI Graphics crashes in Windows Vista and 7

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone else had been having problems with Windows 7 and Vista having graphics driver crashes. I have been having this problem since the Boot Camp beta, and it has yet to be addressed as far as I can tell.
Basically the problem is that after a few minutes in either Vista or 7(after installing all the boot camp drivers from the Leopard or Snow Leopard disc) the screen graphics will start getting all corrupted. Eventually I will get a message in the taskbar telling me that the ATI driver has crashed and recovered from an error.
I have looked everywhere online I can think of for an answer, but have come up pretty empty thus far. The only thing I remember finding that was a possibility a long time ago was something to do with trying it with 1 stick of ram installed rather than 2, or that my ram could be problematic.
I tried running with just 1 stick, and that didn't help at all. I also tried each stick individually also with no change. I even went as far as running a diagnostic using some kind of memory testing software to see if the ram was bad, but it came back as good.
Also, I have run in XP without any issues whatsoever, so I am assuming it is something Vista and 7 specific. I was thinking it might have something to do with the Aero features as when I disable the ATI driver and run in Windows Basic without Aero enabled, I don't get the graphics glitches. Another clue might be that when the graphics glitch up, if I bring up the ctrlaltdel screen which gives you the option of Task Manager, Log Off, etc. the graphics are NOT glitched on that screen. As soon as you exit that screen however, the glitched screen is immediately back.
Bah, I am at pretty much the end of my sanity trying to figure this out, and was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with the older MacBook Pro or is mine just inherently bad? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Here is my system info just for extra help possibly?
    Hardware Overview:
    Model Name: MacBook Pro
    Model Identifier: MacBookPro1,2
    Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.16 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache: 2 MB
    Memory: 2 GB
    Bus Speed: 667 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: MBP12.0061.B03
    SMC Version (system): 1.5f10
    ATI Radeon X1600:
    Chipset Model: ATY,RadeonX1600
    Type: GPU
    Bus: PCIe
    PCIe Lane Width: x16
    VRAM (Total): 256 MB
    Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
    Device ID: 0x71c5
    Revision ID: 0x0000
    ROM Revision: 113-xxxxxx-086
    EFI Driver Version: 01.00.086

Just an added update for anyone interested. I believe I have finally figured out what the issue is.
Apparently, at least on this model of MacBook, Apple has the ATI card underclocked to 310MHz / 278MHz (GPU and RAM respectively) when running normally. However, when running in Windows the ATI driver automatically uses the full clock speed of 470MHz / 470MHz (or something to that effect). The reason that it ends up getting artifacts and driver crashes is because of overheating. Apple has it underclocked because of the way heat is distributed in the system.
Anyway, I found a tool that KIND of works for fixing the issue I believe. It is called ATITool, and allows you to change the clock speed to the 310MHz / 278MHz that works so well in OS X.
    It is located at: http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/
One thing though, the newest version 0.27 beta 3 (on mine at least) causes the backlight of the screen to go off when you load it in Windows. If you put the machine into hibernate, then bring it back up it will come back on... but that is annoying. I have found that the version 0.25 beta 13 doesn't have this issue. It is possible some of the other versions prior to 0.27 beta 3 also don't have this issue, but I haven't tested them yet. I will give some of them a try later.
The previous versions can be found here: http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/Tweaking/ATITool/
Anyway, if anyone else has luck with other clock speeds or knows of any other solutions please let me know. This way works, but I would like to find a better solution if possible.

  • Dreamweaver crashes on Windows Vista (Was: DREAMWEAVER)

HAVING INSTALLED A LICENCED COPY DREAMWEAVER ON A VISTA OPERATING LAP TOP HAVING HAD A NUMBER OF LAPTOP CRASHES, IS IT POSSIABLE TO INSTALL IT ON A NEW WINDOWS 8 LAPTOP

Adobe products can be installed on 2 computers with one license. Non-cloud (disk versions) have to be the same OS, but the CC versions can be PC/PC, Mac/Mac or PC/Mac.
If you already have a perpetual license (disk version) installed on two machines, you need to go to Help > Deactivate (you may need to open a blank file to get this option to activate in older versions of DW) to first "get back" one of those installations before uninstalling it from that machine and reinstalling on a new computer.
For cloud versions you need to sign out under Help > Sign Out before you can install on a new machine (if you have it installed on two already). That will deactivate the program on that machine.

  • Itunes crashes on Windows Vista

Two months ago i've posted a question that could be solved by an update with the nforce/nvidea driver. But even after updating this driver vista still crashes (a blue screen with "page fault in nonpaged area 0x0000050) while syncing with my ipod video. My hp notebook tx1120us with nforce driver version 5.47a and Itunes 7.2.0.34. If someone could help me.... thanks

okay. try downloading fresh definitions and running vigorous virus and spyware scans too. (0x50s can be produced by malware.) if your security software providers offer them, try running "online" scans too. (they can sometimes pick up an infection even if the software on the PC has been compromised.)

    Thanks in advance.

Latest is not always greatest with video drivers, ESPECIALLY from nVidia.
    1.  They apparently don't put too much effort into supporting older hardware.
    2.  The MUCH larger video game market has them all scrambling to improve their latest and greatest offerings to improve the frame rate in Crysis or whatever, and they don't seem all that interested in Photoshop users.

  • Flash player crashing on Windows vista with 1.3 gh Intel processor - Is there a fix or is my processor just to slow for Flashplayer 14? I am on Firefox 31.

I am unable to Disable Flash Player hardware acceleration if it keep crashing as I am unable to access. I have cleared, reinstalled, etc.... and tried everything on these forums. I have also submitted crash reports to Firefox.

Hi userSharonD, if Flash newer than Flash 11.2 causes problems, there's a good chance that is due to the protected mode feature added in Flash 11.3. It has security benefits, but is not compatible with all systems for some reason.
You can disable the feature by creating or editing a settings file. The following pages/posts provide different ways to do that:
    * Adobe support article under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]

Flash needs to completely unload from memory (exiting and starting Firefox up again might help) before this takes effect.
