C:/Program Files/Mozilla Plugin/npitunes.dll error
HI there,
I have
been trying to install itunes 10.5 on a Windows 7 PC. I keep on getting the following error: Error writing to file C:/Program Files/Mozilla Plugings/npitunes.dll. Please confirm that you have access to the directory. Hit retry or cancel. When I hit retry it keeps on giving me the same error. When I hit cancel, it rolls back the complete installation and I cannot get any further then that.
I have since tried the following:
Run the installation as an administator;
Deleted the Mozilla Plugin Directory and then hit retry - (it just gave another error)
Disabled the on-scan Mcafee Virus and Anti-spyware.
Have downloaded a compatible Windows 7 version of itunes and tried installing
None of the above helped...
At this stage, the
IPod is completely useless.
PLEASE assist.
Thanks
I keep on getting the following error: Error writing to file C:/Program Files/Mozilla Plugings/npitunes.dll. Please confirm that you have access to the directory. Hit retry or cancel.
Deleted the Mozilla Plugin Directory and then hit retry - (it just gave another error)
Doublechecking. What is the other error that you're getting then?

Unable to install itunes on windows 7. Gives message Error writing to file C:\Program Files(x86)\itunes\mozilla plugins\npitunes.dll and then starts rolling back.
If you uninstall your Firefox, and then try the install again, does the iTunes install go through? (If it does, reinstall your Firefox.)

When trying to upgrade to the current version of iTunes (7.5), I get this error:
Error writing to file: c:\Program Files\iTunes\Mozilla Plugins\npitunes.dll
The problem is caused on my computer by the corporate anti-virus, which blocks writing to any directory named "mozilla*". It is a rule in the registry that I can't change. I have uninstalled Firefox (which no longer runs on this computer due to restrictions), hoping that the iTunes installer would not bother to write files for an unsupported browser--no luck. Any tips here?
Unfortunately, I also uninstalled iTunes 7.3, hoping that a clean install would work--no luck.
I'd be happy if I could reinstall iTunes 7.3. Does Apple make older versions of iTunes available for download? I haven't been able to find them.

I believe that my question gave all the details. I am wireless in my home and the other computers connected to this wireless have no problem getting into Firefox. What is MOZCRT19?
clementem,
This means there is a problem with the files you need to run Firefox.
Try a clean reinstall:
1. Download the Firefox installer from [http://mozilla.com Mozilla.com] and save it to your desktop or other location.
2. Make sure that Firefox is closed completely
3. Delete the Firefox installation directory (On Windows, this is typically the C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox folder that contains "firefox.exe" and other Firefox program files and folders).
4. Reinstall Firefox by running the installer you downloaded previously.
Your personal settings, including bookmarks and history, will not be lost.

I was in Firefox but I exited. Soon I opened it again, it
installed updates and this message showed up. I tried
scanning the file, looking at it, and everything short of
reinstalling Firefox (which every other person with this
problem has tried but it has not worked.). I installed
Firefox by USB drive, not a diskette, and I no longer have
it with me, so I can't check it from there. What should I

You may have a malware problem if you get unrelated pop-ups opening or are redirected to unrequested websites.
If that is the case then do a malware check with a few different programs.
Every program finds different malware, so you need to use more than one program to scan.
Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.<br />
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.

I had responded favorably to the upgrade message from Firefox but after the download I kept getting a Firefox message that I had to close all other instances of Firefox running before the installation process could complete. There were no other open Firefox programs! I re-booted and tried to open Firefox, and the Windows alert already cited started, and Firefox will not open.
Checking via Windows Explorer it appears that I still have version 3.6.I resolved the problem. I went to CNet and re-downloaded the upgrade. It proceeded as intended and the upgrade is installed and running with no loss of plug-ins, bookmarks, etc.

I recently installed firefox so I could use an adblocker. It installed just fine, and it worked just fine for about three days. Then yesterday it stopped opening. I'm on a Toshiba running Windows 7. The icon highlights when I click on it, but then it stops and won't open the browser at all. When I try to run it with the manual command "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p, I get the error message, "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\ refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the Internet or your network, and then try again. If it still cannot be located, the information might have been moved to a different location." I installed it to that location, and I don't need a disk. I'm connected to the Internet just fine and my other browsers (Chrome and IE) work the same as always. But they're swamped with ads and I really was happy wih Firefox when it was opening...how can I fix this issue?
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
#*'''Windows:'''
#**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
#**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.

I have two Major issues with our Infinity Project computers,
We have one entire lab that is getting this error... "Unable to load
block component C:\Program Files\Hyperception\VABINF\KeyRcv.dll.
Please verify that the component exists and any dependencies it may
have are satisfied." It is also producing this error with
NumEntry.dll. Both files exist. I am not sure what
dependencies these files may have. Ideas?
We have several systems that are giving the following error on one of
our labs... "You have exceeded the number of block functions allowed by
VAB for Infinity; contact Hyperception regarding upgrades." From
what The professor here at UTA told me when I first took on this
project, this was a problem that we had on the previous boards and that
someone at Hyperception was able to help us resolve this problem.
Can you help out with these issues? The first one I need an answer today if possible.
Thanks,We have seen this type of problem on some computers (we do not know why as of yet). The problem with missing blocks is very likely being caused by file permissions, and can be seen when non-administrators are using VAB software. To resolve this: 1. login as ADMINISTRATOR 2. run the command line script from a DOS prompt as shown below: cacls "C:\Program FIles\Hyperception\VABINF" /T /E /G Everyone:F It will scroll through the name of every file in the provided directory, and all subdirectories. This should reset every file, and allow the USER to access all files in VAB software. This should correct the problem. Regards,Steve

I can't update itunes.
During installation it says:
Error while writing in file: Program Files (x68)\Adobe\gnsk_dsp.dll.
Check whether you have the right to open that file.
How can I remove this error? That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?
