Unfortunately your post is off topic here, in the MSDN Subscriptions feedback forum, because it is not feedback regarding the MSDN Subscription. This is a standard response I’ve written up in advance to help many people (thousands, really.) who
happen to post their question in my forum, but please don’t ignore it.  The links provided below I’ve collected to help with many issues we’ve seen.
For technical issues with Microsoft products that you would run into as an end user of those products, one great source of info and help is
http://answers.microsoft.com, which has sections for Windows, Hotmail, Office, IE, and other products.   Office related forums are also here:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/support/contact-us-FX103894077.aspx
For Technical issues with Microsoft products that you might have as an IT professional (like more technical installation issues, or other IT issues), you should head to the TechNet Discussion forums at
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-us, and search for your product name.
For issues with products you might have as a Developer (like how to talk to APIs, what version of software do what, or other developer issues), you should head to the MSDN discussion forums at
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-us, and search for your product or issue.
If you’re asking a question particularly about one of the Microsoft Dynamics products, a great place to start is here:
http://community.dynamics.com/
If you really think your issue is related to the MSDN Subscription, and I screwed up, I apologize!  Please repost your question to the discussion forum and include much more detail about your problem, that could include screenshots of the issue
(do not include subscription information or product keys in your screenshots!), and/or links to the problem you’re seeing.
If you really have no idea where to post this question, then you shouldn’t have posted here, because we have a forum just for you!  It’s called the ‘Where is the forum for…?’ forum and its here:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-us/whatforum/
Please review the topic of the forum you’re posting in before posting your question.  Moving your post to the off topic forum.

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Click the Start Menu and select Control Panel.  Open Programs and Features, Click 'Turn Windows features on or off' and remove the tick next to Internet Explorer 9  Click Yes then OK and then when done, restart the PC.
When Windows has restarted, click the Start Menu and select Control Panel.  Open Programs and Features, Click 'Turn Windows features on or off' and re-enter the tick next to Internet Explorer 9.  Click Yes then OK and when this has finished installing, restart the PC again.

I ask particular question can I use host command in database or not .No and yes.
No. The host command is a client (sqlplus) command. It is not part of the server-side PL/SQL language.
Yes, PL/SQL provides interfaces to the server for executing server executables:
    - external jobs via DBMS_SCHEDULER
    - Java stored procedures allowing access to external commands via the Runtime class
    - EXTPROC interface for external procedures (typically access to DLLs)
Keep in mind that launching IE from a Windows service, is HIGHLY questionable. Oracle run as a Windows service. A service does NOT have native and direct desktop (GDI) access. See GDI+. Microsoft states in this article:
    >
GDI+ functions and classes are not supported for use within a Windows service. Attempting to use these functions and classes from a Windows service may produce unexpected problems, such as diminished service performance and run-time exceptions or errors.

So perhaps you need to explain WHAT the actual problem is, instead of how to make the hack you have in mind, work.

  • I keep getting the message, "Windows cannot find 'c:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." I get it when I either try to open it from the Start menu or from the desktop icon.

I've just installed Firefox on my laptop and keep getting the message, "Windows cannot find 'c:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." I get this message whenever I either try to open it from the Start menu or from the desktop icon. I've never gotten it to work and even uninstalled it and then redownloaded it and still cannot get it to open. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Are you installing from the official site? http://www.mozilla.com/firefox
If you use Windows Explorer (My Computer) to check that path, is the Mozilla Firefox folder there? That is the normal installation location, but I think it's worth checking.
If the folder isn't there or firefox.exe is not in it, I wonder whether some other software might be interfering. You might want to run some supplemental security scans. These two tools are highly regarded:

  • Why is my Firefox Aurora seems to be located in Program Files (x86)\Aurora\updated\firefox.exe, but that directory doesn't exist on my computer?

I'm using FusionDisplay to get a taskbar for my second monitor, and the taskbar has worked well until now. Now when I open pinned Aurora, it opens a new application and doesn't merge with the pinned down application icon.
It seems to locate the Firefox.exe to Program Files (x86)\Aurora\updated\firefox.exe, which doesn't exist. Also windows task manager right click menu for firefox.exe won't open anything when I click Open File Location.

Hi. I'm having the same problem with Final versions of Mozilla applications (FF and TB) on Win7 x64 as well. I don't have Display Fusion or the likes.
This started around FF15, and happens about every other update since. This is Very frustrating. Restarting the computer fixes it though. I'd never believe I'd have to restart the computer after pretty much about every update, major or minor. Now this happened to me for both FF19->19.02, and TB 17.0.3->17.0.4 at the same time. No other software running meanwhile.
This happens for about the 3 or 4th time. It's frustrating to have to restart every now and then for a browser update.
I'll stick to a version for both (19.0.2 and 17.0.4) forever, thanks Mozilla! Couple that with the inability of most versions of TB to sustain a longer uptime than 10-15 days with no addons and just 4 pop accounts with 50-100 emails and just one with 1000.

  • Everytime i try to open my Firefox i get a window that pops up asking me which browser i want to use to open it. After choosing Firefox it asks to run a C:/Program Files (x86)/Mozilla Firefox/firefox.exe.

Every time i try to open my Firefox i get a window that pops up asking me which browser i want to use to open it. After choosing Firefox it asks to run a C:/Program Files (x86)/Mozilla Firefox/firefox.exe. But my search bar says file:///C:/Program Files (x86)/Mozilla Firefox/firefox.exe. Never seen anything like this, half tempted to stop using Mozilla for this sole fact. PLEASE someone help me.

Same error message, I disabled tab mix and made sure I only have the newest version of Java, restarted firefox, now it seems to be fine no error yet on Pogo games or pictures upload to ebay which were the biggest problems besides hanging. I had also had disabled AVG secure search yesterday but that did not solve the issue. Now I will try to add back in AVG search...I have very few adds ons, also the note embedded about re- installing a toolbar went away, my old one did not work with FF4, so I installed Yahoo toolbar but the message still did not go away until I applied this fix. Hopes this helps someone..

  • "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" "Runtime Error! Program: C:Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"

The subject message pops up any time I attempt to open my IE8 browser using Windows XP and set to my home page "ATT.Yahoo". When I click "OK" in the message, IE closes and tries to recover, but with the same results each time. I know
there is a method to reset IE9, but can't tell if it also pertains to IE8 since it can't be opened.

    Hi,
the first step in troubleshooting IE issues is to test in noAddons Mode.
toolbars.google.com - download and install the latest IE compatible version of the Google Toolbar.
for consumer help with IE select the Help>Online Support menu from IE and follow the prompts for your windows and IE versions. thx.

  • Can't exit pdf file in internet explorer.

When I open a pdf file in internet explorer, I an unable to exit the pdf file.  The only way I can get out of it is by shutting down internet explorer.  I am using internet explorer 11 with windows 7.  Is there a way to resolve this issue??

Are you trying to open a PDF in a 64-bit version of Internet Explorer?
If you don't know how to see the version - In Internet Explorer, choose Help > About Internet Explorer. (In some versions of Internet Explorer, select the Question mark in the upper-right corner to select About Internet Explorer).
To switch to the 32-bit Internet Explorer, first exit 64-bit Internet Explorer. Then double-click the program icon for the 32-bit version:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

  • Firefox cannot be found inside the Program Files (x86) when using the shortcut or the actual .exe. I also tried using Regedit.exe and firefox was not there. How do I fix this?

After I get the error message "Windows cannot find C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." I proceeded to use the Regedit solution but the file was not inside the Image File Executable Options folder. The only file inside of there was iexplorer.exe.

#Go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/?ref=logo Download Firefox 4.0.1] and download the installation file to your desktop. You can use Safari to do that, but don't choose to run it.<br><br>
#Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to "Mozilla Firefox" and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (''don't checkmark the box''). If you don't see it anywhere, then it's not installed.<br><br>
#Assuming it is though, reboot and delete the folder called "Mozilla Firefox" at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox<br><br>

I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still unable to login

Apple's advice on this issue can now be found here: TS5376: iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See the user tip Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy for a suggested strategy.
If you have difficulty downloading the iTunes setup file try clearing your browser's cache or using an alternate browser.
If content is missing from the library following the repair see Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash.
For device connectivity issues following the repair see TS1538: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows, in particular section 5.
MobileMe is a discontinued service and should be removed if present. See HT2992: MobileMe: Uninstalling the MobileMe Control Panel for Windows for details.

  • Inquiry about opening any file with internet explorer

    Dear all,
i am opening any file with internet explorer on the client machine.but i want to open it as READ-ONLY. so is there any parameter i should add to the command.
the command i am using is :
    client_host('"\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe " "'||v_file_name||'"'; );
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
I don't think there is a way to open a file as read only using Client_Host. But i can give you another suggestion. Change the permission of the file to readonly (may be using chmod command) before opening the file in the browser.
    client_host('chmod -w '||v_file_name);Regards,
    Arun

I'd also recommend making sure that you're up to date with the latest version of Firefox.
