C project Suite

Hi ,
If anybody has worked on C-project suite. Please let me know the relatonship between table "DPR_PROJECT" and "DPR_PHASE". Its not on field "GUID" that is sure.
Is there any BAPI which relates these tables??
Actually I want to get the "Name of the Phase( which is released)" for a project.
The name of the phase I can get from the table "CGPL_TEXT". The field "GUID" of CGPL_TEXT and field "GUID" of table "DPR_PHASE" are equal. But the problem is only that How can I get the name of the Phase for a project which is in table "DPR_PROJECT" (Field GUID).
Its urgent .Please reply.

Integration with Collaboration Projects (cProjects)
You can use this process to integrate SAP Supplier Relationship Management (SAP SRM) with cProjects. This enables you to handle your entire purchasing process for materials and services from sourcing to time and expense recording using cProjects and SAP SRM.
The process is used in the business scenario Service Procurement External Staffing.
Prerequisites
*To integrate SAP SRM with cProjects, you have made the necessary configuration settings as described in
*SAP Solution Manager under >Scenarios> Service Procurement-> External Staffing-> Business Processes --> Requesting External Staff .
Process
You send an external requirement from cProjects to the SAP SRM sourcing application.
The SAP SRM system creates a requirement and sends a confirmation to cProjects.
As a purchaser, you process this requirement in the sourcing application and create a purchase order. Alternatively, you create an RFx using SAP Bidding Engine. The system sends the purchase order number and the item number to cProjects.
SAP SRM records the times worked and the expenses incurred and sends them to cProjects. The time recording in SAP SRM is a prerequisite for the complete mapping of the RFx in cProjects. The time recording in supplier self-services (SUS) cannot be mapped.

Project Foundation
Project Costing
Project Billing
Project Management
Project Collaboration
Project Resource Management
Project Portfolio Management
In addition project oriented companies may use -
Project Contracts (it is part of Contracts suite)
Project Manufacturing (it is part of Manufacturing or Supply Chain)
Projects OBIA (pre configured reporting solution which is part of OBIEE).
What goes with what?
You must have Project Foundation as basis for any project related application.
Project Costing is a must if you want to track the project cost. It is also essential for managing capital projects. You can also budget using that product.
Project Billing is an addition needed for contract project, if you want to generate and account for revenue, and for generating invoices for customer.
All other modules are felxible and you can add each one of them separatlly.
However, Project Collaboration is uaually used on top of Project Management.
Project Contracts can be used as stand alone, but it is usually implemented on top of Project Billing.
Project Manufacturing is integrated with Proejct Costing.
DBI and Project Inteligence are "old" reporting applications, but it is not recomended to start any new implementation with those, since strategically, Oracle will not continue to invest in those.

[ANN] I have small web (php?) project, suit student or hobbyist... paid work.

I am designing a website and excel formulas and I need someone to link the two. I can write a very clear spec' for the programmer as I have some programming experience and plenty of mid-level web design experience and I wrote specs for an online ordering system and other projects.
It will involve an interactive quote form where they tick a box for eg: black and white or colour printing, one side or two etc, these actions might trigger a pic to appear on the page showing a colour brochure or whatever, then they fill out how many and a few other options and the site calculates the price using a formula that I design.
So it is pretty light work for a programmer, no special knowledge or layout required, we just need to incorporate scripts into the site.
I will be able to bill reasonable hourly rates and the overall quote for a site like that (just the quote page) might run to a couple of grand for the whole lot, layout and programming so there would be a few hundred bucks in this project with more down the track.
I would be more than happy to work with someone with limited knowledge or experience so if any student or newbie to this kind of thing is keen it might be a good introduction. I am experienced enough to take the lead and the responsibility for the end product while you get some useful real world experience. Its probably a bit too small a job for a big professional, but ideal for noobie looking for pocket money!
PM me for details and project starts in a couple of days and should last a week or so off and on.

Does Project Manufacturing and Grant Accounting is part of Prj Suite?

Grants Accounting is technically part of the Projects Suite but Project Manufacturing is not. You will find information on Proj Manufacturing in the Discrete Manufacturing area on the Oracle website.

Project Management and Resource Management Reporting Views

I am wondering if anyone would have and is willing to share some documentation they may have put together around reporting views related to Project Management and Resource Management modules. We are installing the projects suite and I have never done custom reporting out of these modules and would be interested in feedback or documentation anyone may have related to these or any offer of assistance or direction in designing the reporting views.

What I can say. Maybe you should use SAP PPM as a operational Project Management tool and integrate it with WBS elements and projects in SAP PS. Probably it will be the best solution for you.
The second way is to use a second project structure for project management as you wrote, with different number of this project. So you will have 2 structures one for actual posting of costs and the second for rest management needs and statistical posting of costs. Probably you will need CO substitution for posting of costs to post costs on these 2 structures.
There will be many other conditions to get right solution but I think this 2 ways are possible.

Project Billing - 1 time holds (how does it work)

Can someone tell me how does the 1-time hold works in Project Billing? We thought it puts the items on hold until the invoice have been released to AR and it automatically releases the hold.
However, our users have been reporting some inconsistency in the functionality. My guess is that Oracle will put them on hold until the invoices is APPROVED rather than released.
Please advise.

Is Oracle Project Management has all features which Microsoft Project Plan?

Hello Experts,
Customer wanted to start using Oracle Project Management suit completly along with little Microsoft project plan. as of now most of the projects are using microsoft project plan for project management and Oracle Project suit is for Costing and Billing.
But in order to start this initiative, we need to explain the difference which Oracle Project Management can not able to do but Microsoft project plan can. Based on this management will take the decesion.
As per my understanding, Orace Project Management can perform all the tasks except scheduling. As it supports scheduling from third party software like Microsoft project plan / primavera etc.
Rest I think Oracle Project management suit is equally matured to perform all the project management task which Mircosoft project management can perform.
So experts , can you please confirm my understanding and provide me some light on this topic.

First of all, I would like to know what are the various things you are performing with a Microsoft project plan apart from scheduling the resources to a specific project .
Through Oracle Project Management, you can control the visibility of a resource,assign it to a particular project and control the tracking of the time in various assignments.If that is what you are trying to achieve through Oracle Project Management icnluding the other features it has, you can surely go for it.

Not sure how it is working for you, but what I trying to is to reuse the sharable base adf bc model in multiple projects (using jdev 11.1.1.1.0). Basically, i have the following structure
1. Base Model project (first workspace): that has an ADF Library deployment profile. In this project, I made sure that the project -> Project Properties -> Business Components -> Options-> Copy Package XML files to ClassPath is checked.
2. Another MODEL project (Second workspace): I don't have any view controller project here. I can add the adf library (created in #1) through the resource palette to my second model project that is in a separate workspace, but when i try to create a new entity in this project that is based on an old entity, the wizard does not show any base entities that were packaged in the base model project that was created in #1.
Do you have any tips? In additon to the links you mentioned above, I have gone through the following, but of no avail. I would appreciate any help.

Oracle Projects for Exploration and Drilling

Do oracle projects can be used for exploration and drilling in oil and gas company?
What are modules which can cover these operations? Please Help

Oracle Projects suite can be used for that industry. You could set each exploration initiative as a single project, track its execution and actual costs versus the schedule and cost budget.
At minimum you will need Projects Costing. You might also explore the added value of Project Management.

Do oracle project suite contain any reports where we can conclude to go-ahead on closing the period??any report indicates the imbalances meeting all project criterias?? pls don't ask me to read project guide....

There is a standard report that tracks exceptions before closing period in Projects.
Alternatively, try closing the period in PA, and it will tell you if there are exceptions preventing the closure.

Learning oracle modules from oracle university could help you to get complete end to end implementation experience..i mean during ur oracle classes u do 1 dummy implementation with all probabilities...So u ll b more familiarized on navigation and handson.
Also ur attendance ll help u 2 gain certification...the student e-kit is the lovely stuff most easiest configuration collection with screen shot...
by the way selecting modules should b ur choice...u can choose instructor lead training or live virtual classes...my suggestion if u learn the below 3 major modules wud upgrade ur knowledge on project suite.....
11i and R12 10% more web pages introduced...slight enhancement n functionalists...itz better 2 tak latest version...
