C_T_VARIABLES
Hi,
I have a typical workbook issue and the following were the issue points:
1. A user have saved his workbook in the shared drive and trying to give access to all the users who have access to this drive. For this there is a option in Excel->tools(Menu)>Share workbook and check the Check box.
2.Now when he accessing the workbook via Business Explorer. The moment he refreshing one the query in the workbook it giving a pop Error message.
Business Explorer<internal Error> Problem when writing table: C_T_VARIABLES.
I saw the above post in the forums and I also see the below answer for it
You should deactivate in
Excel Options >> Complements >> Manage Excel Complements >> Go >> Deactivate Euro Tools.
That's the solution.
I am using excel 2003 and I don't see it anywhere????
Can anyone tell me if this option is available in Excel 2003????
Hi,
See the OSS Note 1081375 - <internal error> problems with 3rd party Excel-AddIns
Hope this helps u..

Problem when writing tables: C_T_VARIABLES
Hello,
I've checked the forum regarding this problem without finding any good solution.
We have a problem to refresh a 3.5 Workbook when we try to refresh the whole WB. We have these errors :
When we try to refresh the query one by one everything is working fine. We have also tried to migrate the workbook on 7 and it works fine (it's not a solution on our case because some users are still in 3.5 version).
We have tried to disable all plugins on Excel without success. There's a SAP note regarding this problem but only with Excel 2007 and we are using Excel 2010.
Do you have any clue about the problem ?
Regards,
Raito.Thanks for your answer.
When you say regenerate in rsrt what do you mean ? I need to launch the request throught RSRT with the button "Execute" or "Generate report" ?
I've tried to "generate report" with all my queries but i still have the same issue.

Problem when writing tables - C_T_VARIABLES
If anyone can share some information on this, it would be highly appreciated.
Thanks & REgards,
ManishaHi Murali,
I am getting error for /BI0/02* external Hierarchy SID temporary tables. These tables don't exist in database.
Notes 698280 & 728022 are for /BI0/06* kind of tables.
I read note 1139396. But it says use SAP_DROP_TMPTABLES to delete temp tables, but i will not delete /BI0/02 type of tables.
Can you please share in detail, what can be done in such a case?
Thanks,

If it is for one, what does it do ?
Do you have the customer exit activated and filled in ?

Hello BExperts,
What format/structure does the SAPBEXsetVariables API function expect for its input range? I have been struggling for several days now to figure this out. The description of the API function is below.
Function SAPBEXsetVariables(varValues As Range) As Integer
Set variable Values for User to provide Pop-Up Filter selections (Filter dialogs will be disabled if properly filled)
The code I have written attempts to open a workbook, set the values of two variables that it normally would prompt the user for, and refreshes the workbook.
Sub TestMacro()
Dim varValues As Range
Set varValues = Worksheets("Test").Range("A6:F7")
Run "SAPBEXreadWorkbook", "W4FSAZJXZ341W13I569KJ28RX"
Run "SAPBEXsetVariables", varValues
Run "SAPBEXrefresh", True
End Sub
The workbook opens and refreshes just fine, but always prompts me for the variable values. The workbook only contains one query. Searching the Internet reveals that several others have had this problem but I cannot find a solution.
It appears that with BI 3.x one could simply overwrite variables values in the hidden "SABBEXqueries" sheet. But it seems that sheet no longer exists for BI 7. Function SAPBEXdebugPrint does not seem to be available for BI 7 either so I cannot see the C_T_VARIABLES structure that some recommend looking at.
The last post in the following thread appears to reveal the structure of the range that SAPBEXsetVariables expects, but did not work for me. BEx still asks me for the values of the two variables.

Any help would be appreciated!
Edited by: alfredough on Dec 29, 2011 5:48 AMThanks for your response. I ended up figuring out a work-around, just been meaning to come back here to post it.
I created a new sheet in my workbook named Button. In this sheet I created a range that was four rows by three columns in size. An example is below. I only needed to set two variables.
VAR_NAME 0 TECHNICAL_NAME
VAR_VALUE_EXT 0 CHARACTERISTIC_VARIABLE_VALUE
VAR_NAME_1 0 TECHNICAL_NAME2
VAR_VALUE_EXT_1 0 CHARACTERISTIC_VARIABLE_VALUE2
The text in the first column is used by BEx, so leave that as is. I'm assuming for additional variables and values you continue to increment the extensions, for example _2, _3, etc. I'm not sure what the second column is used by BEx for, but 0 worked for me so I stuck with it. The third column contains the variables' technical names and the characteristic values I want to set them to.
Next I created a button. For its command type I selected: workbook-specific command and selected the data provider the variables pertained to. For workbook-specific command I selected Process Variables.
I set the button's command range to my Excel range above. In the static parameters for the button:
SUBCMD 0 VAR_SUBMIT
CMD 0 PROCESS_VARIABLES
DATA_PROVIDER 0 DP_#
Where DP_# is the data provider I selected when specifying the button's command type. For some reason it is incredibly difficult to set these static parameters. They will keep getting overwritten. You have to keep going back and setting them again. Stick with it and eventually it'll let you get all of this in there.
I then wrote a macro in the workbook.
Sub ClickMacro()
Sheets("Button").BUTTON_#_Click
End Sub
BUTTON_# is the name of the button. You can view the button's name by clicking on it in design mode.
I then wrote VBA code in another workbook, which copies values into the range I gave an example for above.
Dim workbookName As String
Run "SAPBEXreadWorkbook", "WORKBOOKID"
workbookName = ActiveWorkbook.Name
Run "'" & workbookName & "'!ClickMacro"
Run "SAPBEXrefresh", True
Workbooks(workbookName).SaveCopyAs fileName:=(fileName)
WORKBOOKID is the workbook ID of the workbook that contains the sheet and ClickMacro that I defined above.
fileName is the path and file where I save the workbook
Hope this helps someone. It took me a long time to figure out how to do this. -
Is the above VB API equivalent to setting the value/s of a query variable? If so, can you post a sample code.
Thanks.Hi Nes, no.
SAPBEXsetFilterValue is equivalent to setting a filter in a workbook. To set query variable values, use SAPBEXsetVariables. Examples of both are below:
Function SAPBEXsetFilterValue(intValue As String, Optional hierValue As String, Optional atCell As Range) As Integer
Return value of zero indicates that no errors were encountered. Otherwise, function returns number of errors encountered.
Need to send BW a string that represents the internal value of filter values (leading zeros are important). See helper function SAPBEXgetFilterValue below to learn filter internal value.
If characteristic is part of hierarchy, must give hierarchy value. See helper function SAPBEXgetFilterValue below to learn hierarchy value.
If atCell is not specified, the active cell is used to determine the characteristic about which you want information. If the active cell is not part of a query definition, then function returns an error state.
EXAMPLE 1:
'remove filters, if any, on customer, Ship-To and Customer
Set filterRng1 = Range("SAPBEXqueries!SAPBEXq0001f0SHIP_TO")
Run "SAPBEX.xla!SAPBEXsetFilterValue", "", "", filterRng1
Set filterRng2 = Range("SAPBEXqueries!SAPBEXq0001f0SOLD_TO")
Run "SAPBEX.xla!SAPBEXsetFilterValue", "", "", filterRng2
EXAMPLE 2:
'in this example, local queryID is SAPBEXq0002
myID = "SAPBEXq0002"
'set filter on Business Group
Sheets("Surplus").Activate
myFilter = "0003"
Application.Goto Reference:= _
Range("SAPBEXqueries!" & myID & "f0MATERIAL__YCOBUSGRP").Cells(1)
Set myRange = Selection
ReturnValue = Run("SAPBEX.XLA!SAPBEXSetFilterValue", myFilter, "", myRange)
'set filter on Business Unit
Sheets("Surplus").Activate
myFilter = "0004"
Application.Goto Reference:= _
Range("SAPBEXqueries!" & myID & "f0MATERIAL__YCOBUSUNT").Cells(1)
Set myRange = Selection
ReturnValue = Run("SAPBEX.XLA!SAPBEXSetFilterValue", myFilter, "", myRange)
Function SAPBEXsetVariables(varValues As Range) As Integer
Replace some or all of the refresh screen variables with a user-supplied mask.
The active cell must be part of the query to be refreshed when the function is run.
To get the "mask", refresh once manually, then copy columns FZ:GS from the SAPBEXqueries repo sheet.
Alternatively, run macro SAPBEXdebugPrint and copy the entries from the sheet named "C_T_VARIABLES". See notes on the SAPBEXdebugPrint subroutine for more information.
'in this example, the variable refresh mask is located in a range named "Refresh_Mask"
'the query to be refreshed is on sheet with code name "Query1"
'cell B2 is part of the query definition (contains title text)
'we select the query cell, apply the filter mask, then refresh the query
Set varRng = Range("Refresh_Mask")
Query1.Select
Range("B2").Select
Run "SAPBEX.XLA!SAPBEXsetVariables", varRng
Run "SAPBEX.XLA!SAPBEXrefresh", False
