C:\Window\Installer\Data1.cab error

I tried to install Adobe Acrobat to be able to edit PDF documents.  At about the 62% point in the installation of the program an error message appeared and halted the install.  The message had this..."C:\Windows\Installer\Data1.cab".  How do I fix this?

I cannot install Acrobat Pro ver 6.0 as I keep getting a data1.cab error. It says the cab is corrupt. I have tried to extract the files and indeed there is a corrupt file in the cab. Can I download a cab file for this version or is there something else going on???
    Rob

It should install on XP. Apparently you do have a corrupt file. As long as you registered AA6 with Adobe, they may be able to help you. They will not discuss the issue if you have not registered or prove you purchased the product.

  • Trying to Load PRE8 on Win7 but i get a data1.cab error

    Hi everyone
I bought a bundle Premier and Photoshop 8 through education department.
i have tried to load both on my laptop.  Photoshop worked but Premier Elements 8 keeps getting an error saying - Error 1335. the cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used.  This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.
I have loaded it on to a computer with Xp and it worked.  I then removed it and tried again on Win7 and the error appeared again. I have sent it back and they sent me a new one and the same error has happened.
I am not lost.  Any suggestions?
    I have a HP Pavillion DV7 operating WIN7 32 bit.
    Thanks
    amanda

    Amanda,
The CAB file is a "cabinet file," and contains much of the code, that is being installed in an archived, special container. This error message usually occurs, when the installation DVD is damaged, scratched, or has fingerprints on it. For some reason, the installer program cannot read it from the DVD.
As one is allowed to make a backup copy of the program installation discs, I would use a DVD copy utility, like the free ImgBurn and Copy your DVD. Often, this will get you a better copy of the DVD, should the damage be slight. I have had several installation DVD's that could not be read by the installation program, that worked perfectly by just making a Copy.
Next, one can Copy the full contents of the DVD to the computer. Many do this to the Desktop, and install from there. Again, doing the Copy (though to the HDD here) seems to work for many.
Last, contact Adobe and ask for replacement media, as it seems that yours is damaged.
Good luck, and hope that one of those works for you,
    Hunt

  • New MBP 15", Windows installation fails with error 0x80070570 or 0x80070570D

    Hey guys!
I finally got a new MBP a few weeks ago, and I wanted to install a Windows partition for some games. I have tried this with several different windows copies (both legal and illegal, and both of windows 7 and windows 8), but to none avail. The exact error message I keep getting is:
    Windows 7:
"Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or mossing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the application. Error code: 0x80070570"
    Windows 8:
"Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the application. Error code: 0x80070570D"
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I've let the bootcamp utility put the disk images on the USB. As I mentioned before, I got the Windows installation images through various legal and illegal sources and made several attempts with each and evere disk image, so that should not be the cause.

    Afternoon,
I have had this error on a hand full of WXP SP3 workstations running 1.6 update 16. I am not a smart person, but I do know how to search. I found a fix a tried on a similiar error.
On one of my problem children I did the following.
As Admin verify rpc service is started.
    from a CMD prompt
    regsvr32 softpub.dll
    regsvr32 wintrust.dll
    regsvr32 initpki.dll
    regsvr32 dssenh.dll
    regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
    regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
    regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
    regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll
I believe the initpki.dll took a few to respond. After that I restarted and tried the install on the problem child again. Success. Since then I have been going back to my other problem children. I try the install without the fix and have not had a issue, YET, installing update 16. It's PFM.

  • Windows installation unusable.. error causes restart

I had a problem with my computer restarting which I put down to overclocking (I decided to raise the core voltage each time it happened (not often - I only actually raised it once)).
Whilst trying to install software it happened again. The computer restarted and then I tried a second time. After it restarted I decided to try uninstalling the software which it wouldn't let me do since it wasn't installed properly. Whilst trying to delete the desktop icon, the computer crashed and restarted again, and now does so everytime whilst windows is starting up at slightly different points, although always after the desktop has shown.
Safe mode doesn't work, since it restarts before the desktop even shows.
The message displayed on the screen is displayed too breifly to note down what it says so I tried taking a photo with my camera, and after about 15 tries, I eventually got one.
    The first line of the error I can't read but the second says;
"An attempt was made to execute non-executable memory."
Then it gives suggestions about checking software, hardware etc and trying safe mode.
    It says; *** STOP 0x000000FC (0xBACEB874, 0x0A3E1163, 0XBACEBADE, 0x00000001)
Beggining dump of physical memory... [etc]
I'm not sure how accurate those memory addresses are, or even if they're any use.
If there's no way of fixing this problem without reinstalling windows would it at least be possible to buy another HD, install windows onto this and then salvage those files on the desktop and in other windows folders? I seem to recall being unable to access files that were in user folders last time I tried something like this.

Sounds like you have corrupt Windows files, caused by unstable memory. I suppose you had overclocked Corsair Value Select, how much did you oc it ? It does not oc well (Windows start etc, but programs/games would crash. Upon closing Windows, registry files will be saved and they might have gone corrupted = no boot)
I'd clear CMOS and run memtest (testing memory for errors) at stock settings (download from http://www.memtest.org/ ...floppy version is just fine, just read instructions how to create such disk)
Also, is the system disk (C:) running HOT ? HDD's in cases with poor airflow get HOT (60C) and can cause write errors.

  • ITunes tantrum - xml update, lost songs, data1.cab errors

    Hi All,
In the last couple of days my iTunes has thrown a real tantrum.
When I switched on iTunes on the PC two days ago, it didn't come up straight away, instead it said it was updating the XML. This went on for ages, so thinking it was just one of those wonky start-ups, I hit cancel and loaded it again - the result half my songs were missing - about 3500 gone.
I had a back-up of the xml & library so I brought those in and ran iTunes again - this time when it did its xml update I let it finish.
The result was that all the songs added in the last month were gone - so I re-added them.
The next day I opened it up and the new songs were gone. (It's a 40gb iPod photo, with about 30gb used).
I decided to update iTunes from v6 to v7 to see if that helped.
The upload kept failing (sulking about the iTunes & Quicktime .cab files), but after repeated tries it eventually went through.
I was able to use it that night and re-loaded most of the songs.
I tried to open iTunes this morning and it tells me that I haven't got Quicktime v7.1.3 installed only v7.1 - however I have checked and I do have v7.1.3 installed.
I've tried to re-download the 34mb iTunes 7 setup exe from the Apple site and all it sends is an uncertified file of varying size between 70 & 700mb, which can't run anyway.
I tried loading the original iTunes software from the disk, but it's kicked out straight away due to a later version being in place.
Please help, I've tried all the options my tiny brain can offer.
    Thanks,
    Paul

    Paul,
Whilst it's possible you may get help in this Forum, you have a much better chance if you re post in the iTunes/Windows forum which is here.

There are experts there who rarely visit the iPod forums.

  • Boot Camp: Windows installation never begins -- Error message: No boot disk

    Ran Boot Camp:
    -Partitioned HD for Windows
-Put my Windows XP Professional disk in (yes, it is an original, genuine, and completely separate [not bundled] disk...is it SP2? I dunno...it says 2002? Anyway, I don't know if that's the problem)
-The Mac starts to reboot, but...
    -It EJECTS the Windows disk
-Then says in dos-looking font, something like: No boot disk attached, insert disk and press any key when ready.
-I press a whole lotta keys. I put all kinds of discs in there. Nothing works.
Already checked boot camp manual and help -- said to try to re-partition. Did that. Nada.
    Any help?

    From the MS website:
    Windows XP Service Pack 2
    Release Date: August 25, 2004

I suspect you do not have the SP2 version if your disk is from 2002.
    That would be the problem.

Trying to install windows 7 and getting error message Windows must be installed to a partition formatted as NTFS

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Boot Camp Assistant creates a Windows partition in FAT32 to make the Windows XP installation easier.
The problem is that Windows Vista, 7 and 8 require a NTFS partition, so the Windows installer gives this error. The only thing you have to do is to choose the BOOTCAMP partition in the installer and go to “Drive options (advanced)” > Format. Finally, install it

I have tried downloading it again and also used the installer which was successfully able to install on Windows XP.
Also, a few days back I was able to install jdk1.5.0.07 but then my system was attacked by some trojan and I had to format it. Since then I am unable to install it using the same exe.

  • Installation error 1335. The cabinet file Data1.cab...

Hi, I am not getting install Oracle 10g Express Edition, the following error occurs:
"error 1335. The cabinet file Data1.cab required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROW, or a problem with this package"
Please, someone can say what is this?
    Thank you

I got the same 1335 error numerous times after trying various things noted in other '1335' .cab error posts in other forums.
Believe it or not, the solution was easy for me: download the install .exe from Oracle using Internet Explorer (v8) vs. Firefox. I don't know why downloading using FF ended up with a corrupt .cab file every time (both the western and universal editions of XE), but using IE solved the problem.
This was for the Windows install obviously.
    Hope this helps...

  • When try to install on windows: Error 1330: cabinet file data1.cab invalid

I'm trying to install Java 6 build 13 on a windows XP computer. It gives me the error:
Error 1330: A file that is required cannot be installed because the cabinet file "C:\...\Data1.cab" has an invalid signature. This may indicate that the cabinet file is corrupt.
Apparently this is an old bug ( http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6596573 ) but it's still occurring and not just for me. I need to be able to do offline install (which is what causes this issue). Does anyone know how I can get/create a working installer for offline install that doesn't have this issue?

    Hi,
When install Windows on UEFI mode, you need to convert your disk to GPT firstly. Therefore, please check if your disk was already converted to GPT partition style.
On the other hand, you can access to the link below which talking about how to install Windows using UEFI partition style.

It looks like the CD is damaged.  You could try copying the entire CD on to your hard disk in a temporary folder and then launch the setup.exe file by double clicking on it.
Can you do this?  Please post back.
Whether 5 can run in Windows 7 is something I don't know.  You just have to try it.
