C1000A CenturyLink modems freezing after upgrading iPad Air and 5S to 8.0

I have discovered that after upgrading to 8.0, my C1000A modem stops working when I connect with my 5S and iPad Air. I thought my modem was going bad, but when I went to my mother's house the same thing happened. There is something different with 8.0 that is causing the C1000A modems to stop working. Has anyone else ran into this issue? I would hate to go somewhere and shut down the WiFi at Culver's for instance because 8.0 has some sort of weird bug.

It looks like Apple has a another bug to squash. It appears the issue with locking up my C1000A has to due with IPV6. I hit the reset button on my modem and IPV6 was turned off. I turned IPV6 back on and while I was testing connectivity with http://test-ipv6.com my modem locked up. I turned off IPV6 and no issues so far.

After upgrading iPad Air to IOS 8.1 I get following problems

Since updating my iPad Air to IOS 8.1 Safari occasionally fails to render a page; sometimes it will do so after touching the screen, other times I have to try loading again. Another time it failed to render the whole screen and got stuck in a small viewport less than the screen size with black screen around it. Finally, Safari crashed with Blue Screen of Death on a simple touch gesture.
In writing this I am finding it difficult to use the insertion cursor to edit typos! Cursor jumps words so correcting spelling is very difficult.
Please address these serious quality flaws in the next point release.

I would love to find a solution to this problem, too. I have read various threads and tries what they suggested, namely:
turned off auto update for apps
tried to download one at a time from my 'purchased' area and not the update area
reset iPad Air
installed updates all the way to 8.0.2
Anyways, none of these worked. I can buy but not download new apps and I cannot update existing apps at all.
In the end, I've had to sideload via my laptop by updating on the laptop and synching. Not the end of the world, true, but something on the iPad is clearly broken by the iOS updata and nobody at Apple has offered any assistance.

We recommend that you update to the latest version of iPhoto before placing your order,
On 10.6.8 you can update to 9.2.3.
You really need to rethink you're computing habits. Using a computer without a back up is like driving without a safety belt. Updating the OS and applications without one is like driving blindfolded and drunk without a safety belt...
Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store

this happened to me. I needed to restore the device using itunes.
You can enter a special mode called recovery mode and itunes will help to restore ios on the ipad.
To do this, you obviously need a pc or mac with itunes installed on it. And a recent backup would be useful as this process will blank the machine.
Switch the ipad off by holding the power and home buttons until the screen goes black.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I understand that after updating your computer to 10.9.3 iTunes stops responding when an iPhone is connected to it. There may be few different steps you will need to go through to get this resolved. I suggest working through the steps in the attached article.

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.

I think there's a big ol' discussion in the Mavericks forum about this - some folks have suggested setting up your own CalDAV server so you can continue syncing without having to route things through iCloud.
It may be simpler to go back to Mountain Lion or Lion (assuming you were on either of those). My syncing computer is on Lion and can't go higher so I didn't realize until recently that USB syncing over contacts & calendars was no longer available!

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my problem.
Yes the purchases were made though my apple id.
I have looked at a few other questions on this topic and I have read that the app data is stored in the backup file but the apps themselves need to be synced back onto the ipad. Someome has mentioned right clicking on sync my ipad but I don't know where to find that to right click on!! Lol.
Again, I really appreciate your time and if by any chance you know where I can 'right click' I would really appreciate you letting me know as I can't get my ipad to sync with my pc at all, although it is being picked up in itunes and it has backed up to itunes okay. GGrrr. Maybe I have something wrong in the settings which is not making them compatible?

Guessing, but posts here seem 20:1 negative after upgrading iPad 1 to iOS5.
Most common is huge slowdown in response and crashing.
I'm a typical user in that I rarely post if not having trouble, so I suspect there are many iPad 1 users that have upgraded to iOS5 and have not noticed any significant hit in performance.
I'd like to hear from you folks that are happy.
Due to all the negative posts I'm holding up on upgrading my iPad 1 3G 64GB as my understanding is that there is no going back to iOS 4.3 after the upgrade to iOS5.
Should I upgrade or wait for an update?

iPad1, 64GB, 3G. I updated to iOS5 a couple of days after it was released (servers were too slow to connect on the first day. ) I had only one crash, and that was my fault. (Moved Newsstand to a folder, which is not supported.) Otherwise, all is fine. As others have noted, on the iPad1, it's a bit slower, but nothing that's a dealbreaker IMHO.
The most difficult thing has been the amount of updates to the apps. Nearly every app I have had an update for iOS5 so it was like I was seeing 3-5 new updates every day. But I've kept with the updates and I think that has helped with my lack of crashes/lockups.
My only real complaint is with the way the iPod app changed to the Music app and how it now treats podcasts. (The "previously played" indicator is now missing.) And a few minor gripes like not having location based reminders (iPhone only feature. ) But otherwise, I'm reasonably satisfied with the update on my device.
If I had to make a recommendation, I'd be on the fence. If there is a "must have" feature you want (e.g.: Airport configuration utility, Messages, Twitter integration,) then go ahead an update. Otherwise, not updating now is probably not going to inconvinience you. Eventually, there may be "iOS5 only" apps but by then, you'll probably be ready for a new iPad.
