C170 management gateway vs email gateway?

We plan to set up a new C170 (single appliance for entire domain) with email on port 2 and management on port 1.
I noticed that the setup wizard only allows you to enter a single gateway, but management traffic and email traffic are not in the same IP range.
I don't see how the web administration and quarantine interface will be remotely accessible with this setup.
How do you set up different gateways for each port or is there a different workaround?

I opened a TAC case about this issue and the representative advised us to NAT the email port's IP address so they both could use the same gateway.  When this was done, the ESA interface would not allow us to use both data ports with addresses on the same subnet. So, now we have both management and email on the same data data port and the other data port is unused.
This setup allowed us to save this configuration, but I don't think this makes sense because it seems odd to use the same physical data port to access management and quarantine as the email is flowing through.  I didn't think of this while I was on the phone with TAC so I didn't ask at the time, but now I have second thoughts about this design.
I'm not sure if the volume of traffic going through would be an issue that would affect quarantine page and remote management access or not, but if this data port fails either on the device or the switch it's plugged into, both email and remote management access will go down at the same time while we have another data port sitting unused.
Did TAC give the wrong solution?

  • Email gateway rejected job

I have a printer that had to be reset as we lost the admin password. We are now trying to configure the Digital Sending--> Send email part. When I try and send a scan from the printer it comes up with a Message" Email gateway rejected the job because of the addressing information.
The printer is a Laserjet 4345 on a simple peer to peer network. I tested the SMTP settings and they passed the test (used the test button).

If the same email send settings were working earlier, the email send settings may be correct, might not need any changes.
To reset the admin password, you may need to contact your regional HP support, as this may result in resetting other product data/settings.
Please mark the post that solves your problem as Accepted Solution

  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 and McAfee Email Gateway appliance

I have been connecting to my company's exchange server without incident until the IT department installed a McAfee Email Gateway. Now I cannot connect and the IT department tells me there is nothing they can do. Has anyone encountered this issue?

If server has enabled ActiveSync you can use Windows 8 Mail Client - works almost like Outlook.
AFAIR Outlook 2013 can't work with Exchange 2003.

  • Shellshock exploit targeting email gateways (ESAs)

Could you please review the attack vector described in the below article:
    https://www.binarydefense.com/bds/active-shellshock-smtp-botnet-campaign/
An active botnet is targeting email gateways by adding scripts in email fields like to, from, body etc.
A vulnerable gateway will execute these scripts and download malware and make the gateway part of another botnet.
Can you please let us know if our ESAs are good enough on these attacks?

  • Set up Telstra ADSL T-Gateway or Telstra Gateway Max modem

When you received your Telstra T-Gateway or Telstra Gateway Max, you should have also received a power supply and an ADSL filter.
    Step 1
Unplug your phone from the wall socket.
    Step 2
Connect the filter to the wall socket.
    Step 3
Connect your telephone to the socket labelled 'LOCAL PHONE' on the ADSL filter.
    Step 4
Connect the end of the ADSL modem cable to the grey DSL socket on the back of the Telstra T-Gateway or Telstra Gateway Max.
Once you have completed Steps 1 - 4, this is what your set up will look like.

  • Support Desk Message Creation in SOLUTION MANAGER  through  External Emails

    Hello Experts,
I am a ABAP Developer , as mentioned in subject, my part is to Create support desk message in solution manager, through external Emails like outlook Express . To do this task i  am in need of more information about some  componenets which are used in solution manager support desk Message.
          My Doubts are,
    1) What is the use of Ibasecomponent in Message Creation?
    2) What if the ibasecomponent is mentioned as a defaut value ' 24 ' ( i.e is the ibasecomponent for solution manager - support desk ) ?
    3) To track the system from which the message is created , is ibase required or the SAP component will give those information?
If anyone has already worked with this subject, please give me some suggestions ASAP.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Mohana

    Hello Mohana,
Let see if I can explain this well:
    1) What is the use of Ibasecomponent in Message Creation?
When you define a Solution in the SOLMAN, you need to update your Ibase
    Edit->Initial Data transfer for Ibase
This create a tree structure in the ibase IB52, as you can see in the attachment.
You get a componet number for SID-Client
You can configure the SOLMAN in a way that when a message arrives from
    <System ID> <Installation Number> <Client> <User Name>
this is what solman knows from a message comming from a satellite, them you
know directly from which component/ibase the message has been received.
This is important data, the component/ibase, for reporting issue, for assigning this component to a sold-to-party (being in IB52, left tree, select a system and go to Goto->Partner  you can assign a Sold-to party BP there for example)
    2) What if the ibasecomponent is mentioned as a defaut value ' 24 '
By default the SOLMAN system has a Intalled base 01 already created for being used and maintained "automatically":
being in dswp, solution : Edit->Initial Data transfer for Ibase
If not you msut maintain the ibase manually from IB52, this is also possible.
The Ibase 01 is a prconfigured iBase for being used for the SOLMAN application.
Tink that the SOLMAN system is built up a CRM system, so the IBase is CRM matter. SOLMAN is only using some CRM applications to build the Service Desk scenario for example.
I3) To track the system from which the message is created , is ibase required or the SAP component will give those information?
    Ibase is required
    Hope this helps,
    Dolores

  • Understanding how BB manage HTML in emails and attacchments.

    Hi all,
I'm trying to understand how BB manage HTML in emails and in attachments.
I created a simple HTML table with some color and no particular complications.
If I send this table as a HTML email on my BB it will be showed correctly, with all color and attribute shown.
If I package this html code into a file named try.html and than I send it as an email attachments on my BB I lost many attribute, including colors.
Can you explain me why and eventually how to solve this problem?
    Thanks.

I too am somewhat annoyed by the manner in which messages are displayed using the standard e-mail inboxes. I recently started using the Gmail application for my personal e-mail and am very happy with how cleanly messages are displayed. I hope I can find a similar application to handle my other addresses, because it is very difficult to scroll through a large volume of mail that contains HTML and URLs every day.
If anyone knows of an application that more cleanly displays messages, please do tell. Otherwise, I'm going to be doing a bit of research this evening to see what I can find. I'll post back with my findings.

  • NAC - virtual gateway vs. real gateway

    Hi All,
I don't have too much experience with NAC deployment. I want to go with L3 (because we have central site), OOB (for LAN) and IB (for wireless and VPN). but I don't know whether I should go with real gateway or virtual gateway. I know virtual gateway is easier than real gateway. but technically, which way is more popular and provide better security measures?
any suggestion would be very appreciated.
    thanks
    Alex

If your remote subnets are multiple hops away, RIP would be the option you should use. They both are equally popular, but for L3 subnets which are remote, RIP is the most often used design

  • Exchange Gateway or API Gateway

We're running GroupWise 7.02HP1a on both NetWare and Linux. We're looking to cooperate with an Exchange 2003 system (maybe 2007 with a 2003 intermediary).
Not sure whether to use the Microsoft Gateway with API Gateway on the Novell side, or the Novell Exchange Gateway. Does anyone have experience with both that can comment on which one seems to function better? Is it a toss up and just a matter of preference?
    Thanks for any feedback,
    Ryan

Ahh ok :) Thanks for the response... I'll push for the Novell Exch. Gateway.

  • Email becomes unreadible after going through Cisco email gateway

    Hi all,
I have an issue with one sender who is trying to email password protected attachments to other staff in our organization.
The issue seems to only occur when the email goes through our C370, if he sends to an externally hosted email account the email and attachment can be opened, and when that email is then sent as an attachment back into our organization it is also openable, which seems to rule out our clients.
Sanitized header from the C370 below is part of the message header which I think might contain the problem, I have removed the first part with to & from as I didn't know if it was relevant..
