C3-00 chat : "no service available" + OVI mail won...

Hello all,
Bought a C3-00 goldenwhite 3 weeks ago, though never succeeded to connect to all the OVI applications (OVI chat, OVI mail + communities), which are the two main features that are the reason why i bought this phone
- chosen connection mode : WIFI only (because prepaid card)
- device system  version 7.20 (upgraded last week, thought it would resolve the OVI chat/mail issue) : update causes me all audio files downladed from ovi store to be "corrupted file / license expired" whereas it was free content, deleting files and downloading again doensn't bring improvement to the issue
- restored factory settings but no improvement on OVI chat/mail application issues
- called my operator: unlocked access to OVI mail "settings" part but wonce account is created, the "connection" wheels runs for a while but nothing happens / still have the "no services available" problem in ovi chat while communities keeps on "updating profile" but nothing happens as well soI don't have proper access to my profile (because "updating profile still runs)
precision : i have no problem to connect to OVI store or any other website through the navigator, issue of "no service available" (chat) and neverending connection (ovi mail) that prevent access to mail is only with those 2 application + communities
eBuddy works fine
are there any settings to update?
thank you a lot for your help

@Nnova031: hello Well yes, youtube can work if You will make UDP configuration with some ports redirected on router, but this is no slution for me, because i have many wireless connections (few computers, wifi printer, other mobile phones/pda devices, and server with is got all ports redirected on it, rest of devices are using NAT).
The key to make everything work as it should is Nokia. They must fix using TCP/IP over WiFI (with NAT) by their apps. Without them they are just not useful, because all people bought this phones thinking they will use wifi and those really nice apps. Those apps are working well on GPRS/EGPRS for many reasons (like using some proxies by operators in configuration, by using external IP by device so all ports can be opened and waiting for data, while it is sooo insecure like hell, etc.).
I think it should be priority one for all Nokia developers to fix that, because they are selling product, that do not have options. that are reason 90% of all their customers did buy it. It is like buying car, that cannot drive without towing car.
Don't say you want to help - just do it! Happy user of Nokias: 6150 SAT (still work), 6021 (used as backup, still work), 5220 XpressMusic (Drown, screaming for Contact Service), C3-00 (my current phone).

  • Ovi Mail won't work on 3120c

I have been trying in vain all day to get email to work on my nokia 3120 classic, to no avail.  I have registered for ovi mail and it works fine on my PC, however it just won't work on my phone!  I have tried using the settings as shown on ovi support site but it's hard to know if I am doing it right (though I'm pretty sure I am, and I have changed everything around a million times but it's not working, no matter what) as they all have different names etc. In any case when I try to connect to my mailbox it just says "connecting to mailbox" for about 2 or 3 minutes then stops, offline, never connecting.  Incidentally I have the same problem with Opera Mini (installing forever, never completing just eventually stopping) though I have read in other topics that it just doesn't work on the 3120c.  Someone please help!  I have trawled the internet for an answer and I have tried everything but it just won't work!

I have had the same problem and just solved it. My home wireless is with ATT and they told me they have been receiving a lot of problems with users suddenly unable to gain access to wi-fi in their home. When we checked my wireless home connection the I.P address on my ITouch was incorrect. The prior IP address was not correct and 'somehow' got corrupted...no one knows how that happened. My cust service rep was excellent and walked me through renaming my wireless hardware as well as changing my channel - and it worked. we changed the name of my wireless modem/router, then changed the channel...to a different number than it was. You are correct in that the problem is with home service. my rep actually took me to an ip address ---numbers not a www address where we made the changes- I hope this helped. If I can be of assistance please let me know.

  • Ovi Mail Problem

Having problems signing into Ovi Mail. Yahoo told me to go to the Nokia site and fill in the "contact us" form. I can't find it - been going around in circles. Does anyone have an email address I can use to report my problem? Thanks!

I found an email address I used several years ago to contact Nokia regarding a problem with Ovi Mail. In that instance I was contacted back and the problem was resolved.
However, this time I received the following reply...
"Our support is not available via direct emails, please send your question with the Ask Nokia form that you can find on the local Nokia webpages at the following link http://www.europe.nokia.com
[This is an automatically generated acknowledgement. Please do not reply to this e-mail.]"
    Guess what?
There's no Ask Nokia form to be found and after going around in circles AGAIN, I ended up at the usual support pages with absolutely no way to contact Nokia to let them know that my mail has been down for 2 weeks!
PLEASE CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO CONTACT SUPPORT FOR OVI MAIL!!
Nokia websites have updated so the links you used did not work. To contact Nokia UK, you can chat with our representatives here: http://www.nokia.com/gb-en/support/contact/

  • Using Hotmail with Ovi mail (Syncing)

    Hi,
Is there a  way to connect OVI mail to Hotmail via POP so it checks and downloads new messages away from hotmail only when I check them via OVI?
So what I plan on doing is creating an imap folder on my OVI mail account that shows all my new hotmail messages but only when I check it via OVI
Is this possible? That will be great if it is as it'll mean imap hotmail
and I can slowly wean myself away from hotmail as well (It's rubbish for not having imap)

i had Nokia Messaging and  my hotmail synced and recived my emails auotmatically and now its not. I have to sync manually sync each time now. And why cant i log on to my msn messenger through my ovi chat . I keep getting a message about the sevice not being available for my region or operator why is that.

  • OVI Mail - Abandoned too?

What's happening around with OVI Mail? Don't think I'm the only one to find the service being left behind. No updates or anything. Or maybe noone uses OVI mail anymore
Nokia ported everything of OVI Mail for Yahoo to manage. Thought it was done because yahoo have had a good experiencing in managing the mail services and it will be just another domain for them with the same superb yahoo service.
But, what's happening here? Yahoo improved its Yahoo Mail multiple times during this period. They introduced tabs in emails earlier and now this new lovable interface. But where's OVI? Still struck on same old Yahoo Mail interface which expired ages ago. Why? Is it that Nokia no longer wants to provide customers with email and other online services. Look at it. There's no logo of Nokia, even those **bleep** advertisements in sidebar look better than the header with poor OVI branding, which isn't even visible.
I'm just hating my OVI Mail services now. Shouldn't yahoo be asked to keep the features coming in there too? Can we expect an Improvement?
What's happening with Nokia? The once top smartphone manufacturer doesn't finds a spot in Top 10 too? Its like abandoning everything and just join the Microsoft Ship. Nokia is itself going against its own sayings. They need to listen to customers and shouldn't behave like "Hey! We can only provide you with this phone. Go away if you are looking for something else"  Microsoft isn't Nokia's cousin's company. Right? Why is Nokia having so much care (and confidence) for Microsoft than its own customers? Is it the right time to say that Microsoft is running Nokia? Surely my post will be censored. But this is something worth discussing Sorry for some hate lines. But believe me, my love for Nokia isn't any less

  • Any service available on net to check valid email addresses?jwenting, help.

Is there any 100% reliable service available on net to check the valid email address so that the mail should not get bounced back if sent to the email id.
According to jwenting in previous topic, there is one service. Here are his quotes.
Spammers would love to have such a
service. Just send random combinations to that
service at a rate of a hundred thousand a minute and
you have in a few hours a complete list of all
    working addresses on the net.
Good enough that you can repeat the process before
every run and you're never getting bounces again.Could anybody explain what is meant by this?

He's saying "No there is no such service". It would provide yet another haven for crappy spammers.

  • Ovi Mail fails to connect after netwrork/provider ...

I have three email accounts on my E72, two of which work just fine after I changed service provider/network (from TDC to Telenor, Denmark), but Ovi Mail doesn't sync. Pressing Z initiates the sync but then after one second it gives up. There IS mail waiting on my account. I have made no changes to the phone apart from removing all connections associated with my old network. The phone is not sim-locked or anything.
Ideas please (except factory reset, I only do one of the those a mjonth :-) )

Each mailbox has two settings for the Access Point.  While viewing that mailbox's messages, choose Options -> Settings -> Mailbox Settings -> Advanced Mailbox Settings.  Incoming Email Server and Outgoing Email Server have an "Access Point in Use" option.  Make sure those are both set correctly.
If they are...spare yourself some anguish.  Delete the mailbox completely (if you're using Nokia's Messaging service via email.nokia.com, maybe delete the account from there if such an option exists?) and remake.  That's sure to get it working again.

  • Ovi Mail

Hey...Is there something going on with Ovi Mail? I havent been able to access it since yesterday. Outlook and Nokia Messaging cant connect to it, while opening it on my desktop/laptop just gives me a page with "Ovi Mail powered by Yahoo! can't load".
If you find my post helpful please click the green star on the left under the avatar. Thanks.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.
The emails that you received prior to the Ovi Mail move to Yahoo! are safe. You do not see all of them yet because they are in the process of being moved to your updated Ovi Mail account. You will see your emails in your inbox once the move is complete. During this process, you can still send and receive new emails.
The info email about the change was sent out couple of weeks ago (to primary email address mentioned in Ovi account details). It may be that old emails or contacts are not visible during the transition phase but as soon as the transfer is complete, you will see all of your old emails and full contact list. You should also receive another email when transfer is complete.

  • Ovi Mail, I can log in, but keep getting asked to ...

I'm at the end of my tether here, Nokia keep refering me to Yahoo and Yahoo keep refering me to Nokia, what a shambles.
As you can plainly see, because I can write this post I'm logged in. Now when I try and access my inbox all I get is a Yahoo! sign in box asking me to verify my password after briefly, for a split second seeing my inbox. I verify the correct password, and once again I see my inbox breifly before I get taken back to the Yahoo! verify password box. This box shows my *******@ovi.com email addy (starred out characters is my username - obviously) and just asks for my password.
Fortunately I can still access my email through Yahoo's mobile site on my phone and the PC, which seems a little bizarre.
I don't want to delete my .ovi account and start again, I've had it for donkeys years, it is known by all who know me and I'm rather attached to it. However my faith in Nokia and Yahoo! are being severly tested by this issue that has taken up far too much of my spare time in the past few weeks. Please help,I'm currently waiting for Nokia's latest annoydyne response, after finally being able to get in here with the help of a Yahoo! person on their chat facility.
I enclose a screen shot of the very annoying 'log in box" box that reappears time after time, I know it has my email addy clearly in view TBH I don't care I just want this sorting so I have provided all the information I can.
    Solved!

I've done that svi78, and to be fair I had a lengthy chat with a Nokia person when they called me back.
I provided my email address and password (I was at the end of my tether, and there's nothing sensitive about my .ovi.com addy so I gave access to my account). They tried it and said everyrthing is working OK he even asked for my permission to read an (oviously) spam email aloud to me to prove it was working, and now because it worked for them they feel they cannot help any more and the case is closed.
I can still only access my Ovi mail through uk.m.yahoo.com/
Yahoo's! mobile site. I can do this via PC, any PC but out of the six PC's I've tried all with different isps I still get stuck in a feed back loop on any desktop Nokia or yahoo! site when I try to access my mail, and this is also true of my phone's web browser. It's a complete mystery. As I say I get a Yahoo! "Please verify your password" box, I verify, see my Nokia/ovi mail in box for around half a second before being taken back to the Yahoo "Please verify your password" page and box.
I and they (Nokia) donot understand why I am having this issue and seeing they can't repeat it (I wish I couldn't ! LOL) case closed.

  • OVI Mail - how is it financed?

Login to your "Free" OVI Mail account, click the OVI Service Terms link at the bottom left, and note:
"Your use of the Service may be or may become subject to charges.
Any fees charged by Nokia will be announced separately in connection with the Service."
Who in their right mind, would migrate all of their email to an OVI mail account, inform hundreds of contacts, and print stationary... if there's a risk Nokia would introduce an unreasonable monthly charge in the future?  Transitioning to a new email address is not easy.
So I wonder: How does Nokia intend to finance the OVI mail service?
They say it's "free", but it has to be paid for by somebody.  With over a million accounts registered, OVI email already represents a major server infrastructure which has to be maintained by a specialised team, not to mention the global bandwidth costs.  Even Google can't afford to run Gmail as a charity, so why should OVI mail be any different?
Message Edited by fadviral on 21-Aug-2009 01:21 PM

Hei, a small comment to your discussion:
I have been using Nokia messaging since it was launched (aug 08 ?). Was happy with it until week or two weeks ago I got a message that the ar going to charge of it.
Actually not they, but the local provider. Charge would be 5e / month, which I found too expensive.
So i installed Profimail, which coasted some 15 GP (ca. 18 e).
Now my problem is the using the Ovi mail account: I dont know the server settings to be used with PM. I wonder if Nokia is willing to give them to be used with other clients. One solution is to stop using the Ovi account.
Of course Nokia has a right to start charging. Especially because it was announced in the very begining and in general terms. But I would find it also fair to give the setting for other clients.
Has somebody got the setting for Ovi, or should I start asking them from Nokia Messaging Team.
All the other accounts are working ok with the PM (Yahoo & GMail).

  • Unable to login to Ovi mail (Yahoo)

After the move to Yahoo I haven't been able to login to my Ovi mail account via any web browser or imap/pop. Luckily I can still access my mail via my phone.
When I login I get an welcome message that asks me to confirm a license agreement; after pressing the agree button I get an error message saying that the Ovi Mail service cannot be loaded. The page talks about an error code "UNKNOWN".
I tried refreshing the page, clearing the browser cache, different browsers (IE9, firefox, Opera) changing my password but I'm always taken to the same page.

since I started the migration and more specifically from April 6 I no longer get into my mail chisel. I asked several times for help but no one has been able to help me, I have always said that I had to wait until the end of migration, probably in late April. but the situation has become untenable, I have 21 unread mails and some very important! please someone give me an explanation and help !!!!!
