C3-01 checking email through the day

I have just got a C3-01, have set up email (gmail) and set the phone up to our home network, but we have a small problem.
Through the day the WLAN seems to automatically switch on to check my email, I have looked in the settings and cannot find anything that I may have done by accident, any other time I connect to the network the phone checks with me first on which method to use (either orange internet or WLAN) so that's not an issue, but does anyone have a clue why it's checking seemingly on it's own??.

I believe the mail alert is on . So please change it.
Below is the usual settings for Gmail account:
option - > More -> Account settings ->
- Update my inbox =manually /FAst / Very fast
- Alert me for new mail = on/off
- Alert me only during 00.00-00.00 Better on midnight to midnight

I'm used of working with Windows mobile, I synced my mail with the exchange server from the office, it checked during weekdays from 8 am till 10 pm, the other hours it was on manual. I'm now a very happy iphone user, but I'm really missing this feature, I get mail all the time, so also during the night :\ I really don't want to wake up for some stupid spam mail. IPhone 5 battery life dramatically has changed. I can hardly go through the day without it dying. Once I hit 20% it's down hill from there. It will jump down to 9% in a few seconds and refuse to come back on. Any fixes?

I bought my iPhone 5 the day the stores in my area received them in. I was incredibly impressed with the battery life for an iPhone. The battery life was awesome up until the last few weeks. Now I can hardly make it through the day on a charge. When I get around 20% power left its only a matter of a few seconds before the batter jumps down to below 10% without me doing anything. Immediately after that it shuts off and refuses to come back on when only 30 seconds ago it said I had 20% battery power.... I'm not a terribly heavy user on my phone. I just check the social media sites a few times a day and send a few text messages and that's all. I've shut off location services, Bluetooth, automatic updating of email, closing apps and all that stuff. I'm almost always connected to wifi when I do anything with the Internet on my phone.

[E72] Small packets of GPRS through the day

Hi again,
on my expenses list from operator, I noticed that I have about 30 small packets of GPRS through the day (up to max 10 KB). My phone is set up in dual frequency mode. I have no mail account activated on the phone, nor any other application which should connect by itself (I have only skype and opera).
Could someone explain me what's going on?

Hi Aspergerguy, this option was set up to 'Only in home network' so this could really be that.
Problem is that I was in a roaming for a few days, and I got my receipt only for a first day through which I see this small packets and every one of them is charged for about 1€ I was about ten days abroad, so when I get receipt for the rest of the trip, I'm looking at really big expense.
One thing which I noticed is that while I was in roaming when I would take a look at phone, firrst it would say this it is in my home network (which is impossible) and then after few seconds it would state real network in which phone is. Could it be that during this time phone sent those packets?
Since this is really serious issue, can anyone give me another contact, email or anything where can I get information on this.

In your email settings on the phone check to make sure it is set to receive emails on cellular network. It's a feature you can turn off so your phone isn't constantly updating emails on the cell network, but if you are usually in a place with wifi and aren't concerned about going over your data allowance, you can turn it back on.

Mail spell check goes through the ENTIRE email looking for misspellings

Is there anyway when you use spell check in mail that it won't go through the ENTIRE message and just use the part that you have typed. Example: When you respond to an email from someone it spell checks their email as well. Any suggestions?

In Preferences under "Composing" you could check "Check Spelling as I type". that will hold it in your reply only. You can either correct it right away (it gets underlined), or wait till later and do them all at the same time by going to Edit> Spelling> Check Spelling ( or the Command-semi-colon keys hit together) they will come up one-by-one for correction.
This is about the easiest way to do it.

HT1430 I am having problems receiving emails on my mini ipad, if my wi fi is not on for say 2 days then I switch it on it will not give me the last 3 days emails, only the day I am on.

I am not aware of any way to use Data Manager packages to send email, unless the email content and execution happens in SQL. A SQL Mail command is something that could possibly be stored in a DM package, but that SQL feature is being phased out by Microsoft. Another potential option is to build a mail macro into the Excel workbooks. But there is no programmatic way in BPC to send mail like this as far as I know.

TS1398 My iPhone 4 is connected to wi-fi when i am home, but when i leave, i do not get any of my whatssapp messages. When i get back home again I get all the messages that has been send through the day. We do have 3G on network. Why is this?

Please make sure that you are connected to the internet. There sould be a "3G or LTE or 4G or E symbol on the top left corner of the screen, if data is available to you.
Whatsapp uses data services to send and receive messages. You need to be connected to the internet for that.
