C3-01 new firmware v7.51 released

A new firmware version for Nokia C3-01 RM-640 device variant has been released.
Changes I found -
Date & time zone available by cities.
When browsing (with network set to 3G only), the device connects via 3.5G. But if I pause to read a page, the icon changes from H (connected to 3.5G) to G ( connected via 2G). Is it to conserve power in idle screen because as soon as i click on a link it switches back to 3.5G connection?
Changes mentioned in Nokia Suite -
Performance & usability improvements.
Better Applications. (?) (Found no new application)
Not Fixed -
FOTA is still disabled.

The new firmware Release has a problem when connecting and disconnecting from the computer.
My X-FI will charge ok, but when unplugged from the computer, totally goes dead.
So dead, the computer will not recognize it, or even turn on.
The only way to turn on my XP3, is to hit the reset button now.

belay that and sorry for posting this without thoroughly searching through the forum ...
    From a post on nomadness.net:
    All,
.0.02 is the PDE firmware that enables the 4hr. standby timer. There will be an MTP version that does this also, however the PDE firmware was ready first so we released it ASAP.

  • WRT54GX2 Rebooting - Windows XP SP3 issue??? New Firmware Needed?

    Have a WRT54GX2, version 1.0, with firmware 1.01.22. Maybe a month ago noticed that I had to power cycle the unit once a week to get my Pap2t voip to work better. Got back this weekend from a trip, noticed that it was rebooting, sometimes as often as every few minutes. Yanked it out, tossed in an old Airlink until I could troubleshoot. Started digging around, and could not find any good reasons for the rebooting. THEN, I noticed via online searches that the Windows XPSP3 release that recently came out has caused some documented and confirmed problems with other wired/wireless routers. Here's a quote;
Broadband modem/router maker Billion says XP SP3 has been causing its BiPAC 5200-series routers to go into a constant crash and reboot cycle.
The company has produced firmware upgrades that solve the problem, which relate to a bug in Billion's code, not Microsoft's. It relates to the fact that Microsoft has started issuing "flag 43" as part of DHCP messages to the modem -- something that has been built into the DHCP specification for 11 years, but not actually used in Windows until XP SP 3.
Although Windows XP SP3 has been available for manual download from Microsoft since May 6, it has just hit Windows Update as an automatic upgrade, which will cause unexpected problems for owners of “unpatched” Billion BiPAC 5200 routers, and possibly other brands or models of router.
Is there someone here from Linksys that can address this??????? As of the time of this posting, the latest firmware is still 1.01.22 that I could find.
    Thanks.

No responses here, so I did the online support, went through the chats, one "tech" said that the computer operating system didn't matter or have any effect on the router! I finally got it escalated, had someone call me. At least this person was able to acknowledge that there was a problem. She could not provide any additional information, but said to "keep checking back" to the support pages, for a new firmware to be released. I asked several times if for sure there would be a fix for my older router, and each time she just repeated to "check the support pages".
I seriously doubt that any units more than a year old will be supported by the factory, given the other posts here, as well as the lack of responses by anyone from Linksys to any difficult or non-standard technical questions.
(Mod note: Edited for guideline compliance. Thank you.)

Have you tried the work around provided by earthmyll? Are you still connecting to the 5GHz band with this laptop? If yes, did you use other channels under the 5GHz band? Setting the channel width to 40 MHz on 2.4 GHz network will allow you to use 2/3 of the entire Wi-Fi band, thus having a higher chance of interference.  It is advisable to use 40 MHz if you live in areas with less crowded wireless networks.  If you're unsure, you may leave the channel width at Auto.  This will automatically adjust the settings to 20 or 40 MHz, depending on which best fits your network. If you want to use the 5 GHz frequency, ensure that your wireless devices and adapters have a 5 GHz capability to have access to the network; otherwise, do not change the default frequency of the router which is 2.4 GHz.

When are you planning to release a new firmware for the N95 NAM?
I am tired of waiting for the automatic screen rotation on the N95NAM. This feature is aleady available in the european version.
I switched from an iPhone to this nokia, and now i have second thoughts. Nokia seems to be the same as apple.
Do you guys know anything about a new firmware?

No one from Apple will respond. We're all just fellow users here. And all that Apple has announced thus far can be found in the press release:
    http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2012/03/07Apple-Launches-New-iPad.html
Beyond that, no one here knows anything about future release dates.

  • Is Nokia releasing a new firmware for the E72?

After the bugs introduced with the latest firmware (no company search, SMS and calls recepction,...), does anybody know if Nokia has plans to fix them in a new firmware release?

What gave you that impression?  I don't know one way or the other, but the last 044.008 update for my E73 degraded the browser (I question if it was tested at all), and expect at least one more update with an emphasis on fixing bugs over adding new features.  There are plenty of other bugs, too.

  • N80 new firmware release date and wishlist

It has been no update on firmware since the latest release V.5.0719.0.2 for N80 since 24 May 2007. With so many models rolling out and firmware revision released for other new and old models, one might wonder if N80 is being forgotten and the firmware revision is put on-hold forever in cold storage?!
There has been so much discussion on the expectation for last firmware release but what we get is only product stability without signficant boost of functionality and performance. I believe this has made many proud owner of N80 phone waiting with a long neck.
After reading through the forum, I have summarised some of the common expectation on the next release (hopefully) in a wishlist below. All is welcome to provide input on the improvement they expect in next firmware release. It is also hope that any status of firmware upgrade for N80 news to be shared here.
    The N80 new firmware wishlist
    i) AD2P bluetooth profile support
ii) Nokia Maps application support (currently, N80 is not support model for Nokia Maps application)
iii)Enhanced digital music player (similar with N73 ME with album art browsing)
iv) Music file IDD tag editing (change artist, song title, genre information)
    v) Video ringtone
    vi) Skype VOIP support
vii)Mymobilesite.net intergration for seamless moblogging interface
viii)Auto birthday reminder storing from Contact entry
Thats all I can think of for now.

    Hi Jacob,
Thanks for your quick response but if you go to the download section of Nokia Maps, N80 is not listed for selection on Nokia Maps setup file download. It is obvious that the compability page does show N80 is supported but which setup version to choose? I myself have Nokia Maps installed previously. But I believe there are new feature and interface in the latest version of Nokia Maps.
Yes, mymobilesite.net is available for N80, but perhaps the new firmware can include it in the new firmware release to save other the hassle to install
    something to add:
ix) HSDPA mobile internet surfing speed (3.5G?)

  • New firmware m1217nfw release date and other questions ...

    Hi everybody!
Does anybody knows when a new firmware update will be released? It seems that the latest release (2013-09-30, version 20130912) has a serious known issue and HP recommends : "Please do not update with this version" on the web site ...
The problem is that the version installed on my printer (version 20130211) seems to have a potential security vulnerability. The vulnerability could be exploited remotely to gain unauthorized access to
data! An intermediate firmware version (2013-07-26, version 20130703) was previously released to correct this issue but I can't find it on hp web site. Does anybody knows where I can find it???
My last question is about firmware update : HP recommends to update firmware by using an USB 2.0 cable connected to the printer. I successfully updated the firmware (twice) with the network interface of the printer. Should I avoid this method and use an USB 2.0 cable?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

    You can't.
They did this for a reason, as part of FairPlay.
There's no way to get around this.....
If the information on the purchase content is wrong (like wrong release date), contact Apple, and they might be able to correct it.

  • Nokia E71 - New Firmware Released 2nd July - Vr 30...

    Hi All
If you didn't know already a new firmware for the Nokie E71 was released yesterday.
I have updated mine this afternoon, and it looks good so far. The only thing I have initally noticed that a Myspace Facebook and Youtube application has appeared.
As for the other improvements at the moment they must all be in the background. The handset is much faster though.
My handset is a UK Model, Unbranded and SIM Free, so not all network operator will have approved the update as yet. As always if you cannot update then its generally because the firmware for your operator or region has not yet been approved.

It is not possible to update between Feature Packs.
My GPS is working fine, along with my maps.
If you are restoreing from a backup, you can find that somethings will not install correctly. I normally only restore stuff that I actually need to keep such as contacts etc, and install everything else anew, or resync with Mail for Exchange.
I notice that stability has also improved.

  • Airport Extreme 802.11n New Firmware Release (VPN ISSUE)

The info accompanying the release of today's firmware upgrade makes no mention of a fix to the VPN problems. Does anyone know if the new firmware had any effect on the problem?
Mac Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   4 GB Ram

Our VPN is now working (checkpoint)
For me the firmware update initially seemed to fix the VPN issue, but after closer inspection there still seems to be something wrong with it. (We are using CheckPoint.) My Wintel-box that has been provided by my employee is still having issues with connecting to our exchange server and the network drives do not seem to be working all that realiable. Probably a configuration issue, but do you have any ideas on where to start looking for a solution?

  • New Firmware (v2.2.0.7) Released for SA520 SA520W SA540 SA500 Series Routers

Cisco has released new firmware for the SA500 Series routers.  It's version 2.2.0.7 and can be downloaded here:
    http://software.cisco.com/download/navigator.html?mdfid=282414017&i=rm
We have been running on this version on our SA540 for months.  Other than some changes to logging that we don't particularly like, it has been a very stable release for us although 2.1.71 was extremely stable in our environment as well.
    Our environment:
    SA540 (gateway router)
three Linksys E4200 v1 routers (configured in "bridge mode" which turns the devices into WAP's)
Netgear GS724Tv3 switch (with two ports in LACP link aggregation mode which are used by our Synology NAS)
Synology DS1812+ NAS (in link aggregation mode)
Several 5- and 9-port unmanaged switches
Several Windows machines (PC's, servers, laptops) of many flavors
Several MAC laptops of many flavors connected via wired and wireless
Several tablets (iPads, Kindles, Touchpads, Xooms, etc.) of many flavors connected via wireless
Several smartphones (iPhones, etc.) of many flavors connected via wireless
At any one time we have ~75 active devices on our network of which ~25 are wireless.  Max ~100 devices.
We utilize IPS and ProtectLink. We do not take advantage the ProtectLink email protection or license the ProtectLink Endpoint functionality.
BTW, our cable modem is directly connected to our SA540.  Our SA540 is directly connected to our Netgear switch.  Nothing else is connected to our SA540.  Our Netgear switch, and to a small part our numerous unmanaged switches, do all of the heavy lifting.
Our SA540 and Netgear switch handle all of the traffic with ease, but we are a relatively small shop.
