C3-01 screen smooth scrolling?

any tips on how to get the screen to scroll smoothly? When I first got this I was told by several people it just takes time to get used to a touch screen & soon I would love it!  Well had it a year now & I still cant get it to scroll smoothly especially on web pages!

For opera mini-
Go to settings-privacy-clear history, clear username & password, clear cookies.
Clearing cookies will log out all your sessions & free up a lot of memory. Will be a good thing if you use facebook & do general browsing on the same browser as facebook tracks everything even when your are logged out. Clearing cookies after logging out will prevent it & give smooth scrolling.
Clearing username & passwords will delete all the unsaved/saved usernames & passwords. You may slip this step if you want to retain them, but it will be better if you clear them off as it takes up a lot of browser memory. Also anyone can log in if usernames & passwords are saved.
I don't have any idea about orange browser but if its a wap browser then you will need to clear the cache. Also during browsing just before you exit, press options-tools-clear browsing history, clear cookies, saved form info & the last option too (if u want to clear them).
You may try different browsers for different things. E.g. I Use the built in om5 for twitter, om 7 for support discussions board, nokia browser for misc browsing, ibrowser for downloads.
Please mark the post as solution if it solves your problem.

  • Screen smooth scrolling with mouse wheel

I have a screen with a number of vertical sections that are initially all collapsed. After expending these sections the screen becomes too tall and I get a scroll bar on the right. Scrolling it by dragging a scroll bar has expected smooth scrolling but using the mouse wheel scrolls  why too large portion of the screen.
Any idea what to look for?
    Thanks

No, I do not have other parts installed. I saw this behavior by others last week in the Safari forum here at Apple too. They wrote about this could be happend by using fast user switching and only Safari 4 was effected. But now, as I saw this after upgrading to Safari 4.0.2 in Aperture too, there should be a biger bug elsewere in the System or maybe Webkit?

  • Smooth-scrolling page shrinks to fit on screen

    Hi,
I'mtrying to produce a horizontally smooth-scrolling page and am facing a very odd issue. The page's dimensions are 2200*768, but the content viewer just shrinks it to fit in the screen, instead of having it fill its height and scroll sideways. (See the attached screenshot)
I am aware of the size limitation of PDF stacks on previous versions, but this happens with both PDF and PNG stacks, as well as on a v23 folio.
Also, once this problem is solved, is there a way to have the page present the horizontal center or right rather then left when it loads? I'm working on a Hebrew publication, meaning it is RTL, so having the page start from the left and scroll rightwards would not make sense
    Thanks

You can’t do that. Smooth scrolling only works vertically.

  • How can I get back the two button smooth scroll with Logitec optical marble mouse since Adobe Acrobat or FireFox updates on 10/26/2010 made it quit?

Oct 25, 26 or 27 both Adobe Acrobat and Mozilla Firefox alerted me they had updates to install. Since I trust them both I installed them. However, since then my optical marble mouse from Logitech acted strangely different. The cursor did not move as usual. It didn't respond right. I thought it might have needed the dust wiped out, so I did that. It still acted sluggish when I tried to move it, it was as though it was "spinning its wheels" not going anywhere. I went to the Control Panel clicked on Mouse, and proceeded to look at the settings and set them to default. I then tried to use the universal scroll by clicking the two big buttons which showed a circle with cross hair arrows as usual. When the marble was moved forward or backward, the scroll had always been smooth allowing one to read the screen evenly and without holding any button down. Now it was jerky. Is this a problem from the last update? My version of Firefox is 3.6.12
    Thank you

I am happy to see another person is having this jerky scroll situation with the latest update to Firefox on October 27. I did check my I.E browser and '''THAT BROWSER''' still does the nice smooth scroll....let's get 'er fixed Mozilla! I know you can!

  • Smooth scrolling on a horizontal page - how did Benjamin Moore do it?

    Hi,
I'm trying to work out how Benjamin Moore did this (in their COLOURSTORIES Canadian Version). We're looking to do something similar (Different content on the horizontal and vertical formats), but can't work out how Benjamin Moore managed to get a scrolling horizontal page.
    The screen shot is below:
We're looking, if possible, to have the horizontal and vertical versions of each article smooth scrolling.
    Is this possible?
Also, is there a static URL for the features & bug fixes for the most recent release? I'm finding that even searching the forum thows up "This is fixed in the new release" without any reference to what the release is (v21, v22 etc). T'would be a help!
    Cheers,
    Simon.

Thanks Bob - my problem was not realising the "Scrolling direction" relates to the orientation of the orientation of the articles, and not as the name suggests the scrolling direction. Another fact stored in the noggin for future use

  • I have not found any answers yet to solve this problem. Smooth Scroll Auditions CS5

I used to used Audition 3 and when recording or playing back the recorded wave form would be smooth and when it reaches the right hand edge of the screen it just smoothly continues. I have updated to Auditions CS5 and I cannot get it to do the same. It seem to jump back to leave more room instead on continually scrolling. In the preference option there is no option I can see to change this. The only option shows Playback but this seen to also just jump back to leave more room.   Any idea where the setting it so make is smooth?   Thanks in advance

Hello Ryclark..     The playback is the same as record.  Unlike AD3, when the waveform gets to the right had side of the time line it JUMPS back to make room for the continuing recording where the recording is longer than the width of the screen.  After an online chat with Adobe support ( who do not seem to know how their software works) , in the end they said that the new feature was for the Cursor and Waveform to Jump back to leave room for the continuation of the recording....unlike AD3 which smoothly scrolled the waveform.  It is a step backwards and looks like a novice attempt...  So if anyone wants to know if there is a solution to this backward step the Answer it NO. It is a new Jumpy flow layout.    Seems like Adobe are getting like Microsoft,,,

  • Horizontal smooth scrolling

Is it possible to have longer pages (768x1500) and set it to horizontal smooth scroll. I wonder if you could upload several long articles and combine them into one article and set it to horizontal smooth scroll?

I think the Smooth Scrolling feature is designed for webpage-style vertical scrolling only. The 'Horizontal' and 'Vertical' direction settings refer to the layout orientations (your landscape and portrait layouts), not the direction of the scroll action itself.
If I understand this incorrectly, please someone jump in to correct me.
You could get around this by having horizontal Scrollable Content that fills the height of your layout but extends left-and-right. The problem is that, having reached the right-hand end of the Scrollable Content, swiping across the iPad screen will not move you on to the next page or next article. Perhaps you could get around this by adding a secret button (a 'navto' link to the next page) that overlays a button graphic that only comes into view at the end of the Scrollable Content. Not sure if this would work, though.

  • How do I add a fixed object on a smooth scrolling article?

I'm looking to create a smooth scrolling article, but I want to have a button stationery at the top of the screen. The content of the rest of the article will scroll behind it.
    Is this possible?

Place the button on the next article (on the right side of the article where you want your button).
Move the button to the left, beside the page (imagine the article where it should be on the left of it).
Group it with a blank rectangle that's on the page.
Place your button on every page of the second article, otherwise you see it only when that article is on the firts page (place it on the masterpage). That article must be a fixed scrolling article.
    This works perfect.

  • Completely smooth scrolling - impossible?

is it impossible to create completely smooth scrolling in
    Flash?
    look here:
    http://public.develop.fyens.dk/choppy.html
it's moving one pixel per frame, at a framerate of 60 frames
per second, and the hardware frequency of my monitor is 60 Hz, so
    it should be scrolling
    completely smoothly.
but every second or so, it drops a frame - it's not
    completely smooth.
you can get the source here, if you screen is not set to 60
Hz you may need to change the framerate:
    http://public.develop.fyens.dk/choppy.zip
now, then - assuming that Flash was somehow unsuitable for
this kind of task, I went ahead and wrote a win32 application
instead ... with the exact same result! ... animation in windows
just does not seem to run smoothly ... could it be a driver issue,
or is it a general limitation in windows?
I then changed my application to full-screen, and it runs
    smoothly.
but having to port our entire flash application to a real
win32 application running full-screen would be a big task.
any idea if 100% smooth scrolling is possible with Flash or
    not?
is there something I can turn on or off in Windows somewhere
    to make it go smoothly?
    Thanks!

Of course, no, nobody is going to change the refresh rate of
their monitor to accomodate an animation :) .... but the animation
I'm working on is for a large LCD display in the street, and it
runs at 60 FPS, which is why I'm targeting this framerate
    specifically.
I don't believe that 60 FPS is overdoing it - I've tried on
three different systems (with a DELL monitor, a BENQ monitor, and
the large LCD matrix display), all of which have abundant CPU power
to pull off an animation at 60 FPS - I've checked the CPU meter,
the animation uses about 5-10% CPU on all three systems.
The difference between 60 and 30 FPS is certainly not
academic - there is a clear visual difference, 60 FPS for slow
scrolling text gives a clearer more stable image .... the same
animation, e.g. moving twice as fast (2 pixels per frame) and
playing at 30 FPS looks slightly blurry on the horizontal. I'm
guessing this is because the screen is still updating at 60 FPS,
which means it's actually painting each frame of the animation
twice - and since the graphics card driver won't allow me to change
the update frequency of the display to 30 FPS, well...
Apart from that, reducing my animation to 30 FPS does not
help - I still get a jerk or flicker in the animation every second
or so, and it's actually worse than it is at 60 FPS.
Please compare for yourself the two versions here:
    http://public.develop.fyens.dk/choppy.html
As you should be able to see, there is a clear visual
difference between the 30 and 60 FPS versions.
While, yes, movies in the cinema run at 25 FPS, these images
are actually projected at a rate of 25 FPS - if you displayed 25
FPS at a physical update frequency of 30 FPS, for example, you
would get extremely jerky looking motion, since some frames would
get twice as long (two updates) as others...
Also, you can't really compare a movie to a scrolling text -
because the scrolling text is a single object moving at a fixed
rate, the eye will instantly detect any variation in speed or any
flicker in the display update. Detecting variations in framerate on
movie material (such as the ads we play back periodically in the
flash player on the same screen) is almost impossible, because the
entire screen contains elements moving in varying directions at
    varying rates...
It's like the Flash player is not properly synchronizing it's
display updates to the update frequency of the screen - having some
game development experience, I would say it looks like it's not
waiting for a vertical refresh before it updates. I'm guessing it
probably times it's display updates with a timer, and just paints
    without waiting for vertical refresh.
Finally, as said, a full-screen Windows application can
produce completely smooth output at 60 FPS, while a windowed
application displays the same artifacts I saw in the Flash player.
This was reproducible on three different systems.
I thought there might be "something" else running in the
background on these computers, that would cause the CPU to spike
every second, thus lagging the update of the Flash player ... but
having closed all services and processes not directly necessary to
keep the system running, it's still jerky. And the fact that it's
smooth in full-screen mode also goes against this idea.
So it looks like a limitation of Windows, or the graphics
card drivers (NVidia-chip based cards in all three systems), and/or
a hard-to-beat limitation of Flash and windowed applications in
    general - I can't tell which...

  • Firefox features: smooth scrolling btwn tabs, how do you access/use this??

On the Firefox Features of Getting Started, "Smooth Scrolling" is described as "An elegant new feature lets you scroll through tabs easily to see them all and access the one you want quickly." But how does one do this??
I found this feature with the other "Tab" features like App Tab, Reopen Tab, Switch To, and Organize Tabs, etc...

That doesn't disable them, but merely moves them to below the location bar.
If you want to disable them, go to Options | Options | Tabs and remove the checkmark from: "Always show the tab bar".
Hovering the mouse near the top of the screen reveals the toolbars, not just tabs.
If it's not working for you, try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.

  • Smooth scrolling strip chart

I am using meas. studio for visual basic 6.0 and am trying to do the
    following
    a. Set a predefined stripchart width (x axis) ...5 minutes
b continuously acquire data and chart it with the ChartXvsY method.
    c. when the data reaches the end of the chart, have the chart smoothly
scroll so that new data (on the right) pushes old
data (on the left) off of the screen.
    d. the x axes refect a fixed width of (max-min)= 5 minutes, but changes
dynamically to scroll with the data.
I have been able to get close by the following
    upon startup of the graph
    CWGraph1.Plots(1).ClearData
    CWGraph1.ChartLength = 1200
    CWGraph1.Axes(1).AutoScale = False
    CWGraph1.Axes(1).Minimum = 0
    CWGraph1.Axes(1).Maximum = 5
then when the chart is running
    If (currtime > 5 And CWGraph1.Axes(1).AutoScale = False)
    Then
    CWGraph1.Axes(1).AutoScale = True
    CWGraph1.Axes(1).AutoScaleNow
    End If
    CWGraph1.Plots(1).ChartXvsY Xdata, Ydata
This doesn't exactly work, as the autoscaling extends the tail end of the
chart (left) beyond the last retained point so that the chart disapears in
the air. I would like it to clip AT the left margin so that it appears as
though the data is simply scrolling off screen.
    Any Suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!!
    Steve S

    Steve,
I had a similar requirement to provide smooth scrolling, and in the end I found the the best way was to just set the X Max, and then set the X Min to be X Max minus the graph width, and not use the auto scaling.
Doing it this way also means that you can retain a history by allowing the chart length to be longer than the number of displayed plots, which can be viewed just by changing the X min back to the first required plotted point.

  • Cannot disable "use smooth scrolling" since last updates (10.6.5, firmware)

    Hi all,
since the last updates (10.6.5, firmware) smooth scrolling is enabled in all my finder and other application windows when using the touchpad on my MBP 4.1.
I can check or uncheck "use smooth scrolling" in System Prefs-> Appearance, however smooth scrolling is always enabled.
Any clue how to disable smooth scrolling or fixing it any how?
    Greets, Nico.

I repaired permissions before the combo update and then again after the update. There may be some improvement but now I am sensitive to the flickering and may not be the best judge of it. My wife did volunteer this morning (before the combo update) that the computer seemed to be slower than it has been. She uses it every day and I did not tell her about the update so that confirms what I had felt about it also being slower.
I have the MacBook Pro with 2 video cards in it and I switched to the faster card and there are definite improvements in screen response and with pages loading faster in Safari. Scrolling in Safari is a little smoother but iPhoto is still real jerky.
I'll consider this solved because I think something in the video drivers has been updated (negatively) and it will take a further update from Apple to fix it. It's really too bad because I just became an Apple user this year and was impressed by how smoothly every thing works. Now the jerkiness in Safari and iPhoto feels more like the old MS Windows experience.
Thanks to all for the help!

  • How can I make the Smooth Scrolling option in the Advanced menu apply ONLY to the tab bar?

So, I'm one of those people who usually have 60+ tabs open at any given time. I'm also on a Lenovo laptop with a trackpoint (that may be relevant later).
Right now, I have smooth scrolling disabled.
In previous versions of Firefox, if I sat my cursor on the tab bar and scrolled either up or down, it would scroll across my tab bar at a constant, quick rate, usually taking about two or three seconds to reach the end. This wasn't an animated scroll (I've disabled that animated scroll via about:config in the current Firefox version).
However, now, it's doing something different. There's acceleration to the scroll. If I just tap the scroll in either direction, it scrolls only a few tabs. However, if I hold the scroll for a second, it instantaneously takes me to the far end of the tab bar, completely skipping at least thirty tabs in between.
I have tab scroll buttons added by Tab Mix Plus (smooth scrolling is also not enabled in that addon), and the same accelerating behavior occurs there. One or two taps of the button moves the bar a few tabs to the left or right, but several taps in quick succession takes me all the way to the far end of the bar.
I can restore the old scrolling behavior for the tab bar by turning on smooth scrolling in the Options > Advanced menu, but that turns on smooth scrolling for web pages at the same time. I don't like the web page smooth scrolling, and would rather not have it on.
Or if there's any other way to make it so that scrolling the tab bar moves the tab bar a fixed amount no matter what, that would be great.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

  • Datagrid smooth scrolling...

    Hi Alex/ All,
That  was great job. You have implemented smooth scrolling for List..  Based  upon that I have implemented the same in datagrid also..But I am facing  couple of issues...
        1.  I have Item renderer Text..  With in that text I am displaying almost 90 records and it has a huge  height. Accordingly the row height must change .. But what happend in my  case is the data is overlapped on the second row.. the row height  changes to certain height. after that it is not expanding.. records are  displaying and overlapped on the second row and if it still lengthy it  displayed on the third row also... so How can I solve this issue.. The  row height must vary with the itemrenderer..
    2. Second  one is If I scroll vertically it is scrolling smoothly fine. But If I  release the mouse the scroller going to Row end position or row starting  position..
I just want to fix the scroller position where user releases the Mouse from the vertical scrollbar...

Renderers must report a correct measuredHeight based on a given
explicitWidth.  You may need to override measure() method.
If the rows are so tall they don't fully fit in the DG, there may not be a

  • Full screen vertical scroller sometimes works, sometimes doesn't

Curious to know if anyone else has had this problem or there's some information that my elucidate this mystery:
Our publication ran a page with a full-screen vertical scrolling overlay today for the iPad. Inside of Viewer the folio flipped from page to page just fine, but once published we were unable to move between pages any longer once on this particular page. We've run full-screen vertical overlays before without incident and we're stumped to understand why the Viewer elicited no issues while the final publication did.
