C3 Mail too large

I have a Nokia C3 that retrieves Demon POP3 email headers OK, but if the email has an attachment I get the message "Mail too large" and the email is not retrieved. I can't find any information on what this limit is and where it is applied. I have never been able to retrieve any message with an attachment, no matter how small. I have just performed a software update so I have the latest .There is loads of room on the micro SD card. Any ideas please? Mike.

Hey Redben6
Welcome to the community, thanks for your recent  comment.
You probably wont be able to open these attachments because your operator may have restricted you from opening large files whilst connected to its network.
Try connecting via WLAN and if this doesn't still help that means the file you are intending to open is not compatible with device you are using.
Should you run out of options and require further assistance, your nearest care point can be found from here.
We look forward to all your further comments.

  • Since upgrade to iOS 7 Email error on over 100KB emails "Cannot Send Mail  The message was rejected by the server because it is too large." Connecting to Exchange via Activesync

    Hi,
Following the upgrade to iOS 7.0.3 on all our iPhone and iPad devices, it has been identified that when sending emails around 100KB in size and over an error message appears on the device stating “Cannot Send Mail  The message was rejected by the server because it is too large.” See error message below. The send/receive limit is over 10MB so this is not the issue.
We are in an Exchange Environment using Microsoft Activesync. This issue is not evident in iOS 6. This has been tested on an iPhone 3GS running version iOS 6.1.3. We have been unable to repeat the issues seen on iOS 7 on the older OS. It is not possible to roll back to the older operating system as Apple are no longer signing the software.
We use Microsoft Active Sync to connect to our Exchange servers through a TMG. The issue is very inconsistent, some identical emails go through, some fail. This is not an issue with the send/receive limit as this is over 10MB. The error message when it fails on the TMG is Status: 413 Request Entity Too Large, which we believe is from IIS on the CAS server.
Does anyone have any suggest course of actions to take?
    Many Thanks

This resolution have to attend at the server not with the ios device. My employer's mail administrator reject me to correct it from the server. As his concern is, if ither ios devices works why don't mine? So I am helpless than changing my iphone. It works fine for early versions of ios and with androids. And also one of my friends iphone4 with ios 7 (similar as mine) works too. So I guess it's something wrong with my iPhones settings. But basic question I cannot understand is it works in my phone before this ios7 upgrading. And currently working with my yahoo account too. Favourable reply expected.

Why don't you try disconnecting your Internet connection.  This may delay things enough that you can stop the email in its tracks.

  • HT3142 Display size is too large on yahoo mail

My display size is too large on yahoo mail page only (page I need and use most). How do I correct it, please?
Changing the display selections from system preferences is not working.

There may be a control within the application you are running Yahoo.
Which browser are you using online to access Yahoo?
In the View menu bar of the open application, there may be a choice
to change the size of the display content in the window itself, check.
Some of these use a keyboard command, should the setting go to
Full Screen, you'd need to know the default or escape combination
of keys to restore the application's window to a standard size. This
kind of inside-application setting is not reflected System Wide.
Since I don't know the browser, (as I have five, each is different)
I can't recommend a keyboard combination to re-size the open
application's view or window setting. They can be non-standard.
But that likely is where you'd have to change it back to normal.
PS: Snow Leopard is Mac OS X 10.6.8.
    (Tiger is OS X 10.4.x)
    Good luck!

  • Outlook for mac 2011 sent mail file too large error message

The synchronization of outlook with gmail is slowing down because there is a stuck message that appears to be too large.
Have tried to run a script i found out about to delete and it didnt work. I also went to Offline mode and sent myself an email so i could see the outbox and there is nothing there.
    Suggestions appreciate.

    Normanfrompalmyra,
Gmail does not have an outbox per se. While you are composing or writing an e-mail, it is automatically saved in the Drafts folder. After you hit send, a copy of the e-mail is saved in the Sent folder. So, you can look in both those folders.
If you are in Outlook, click on the Home tab, then look at the left side of the Outlook window. You should see a column on the left with each of the different e-mail accounts that you have set up in Outlook. At the top of this column are the four general folders: Inbox, Drafts, Sent Items, Deleted Items. Below that are folders for each e-mail account, under which you see the folder structure you created for each e-mail account. If you know which e-mail is causing the problem, look under Drafts, Sent Items, then Deleted Items for that e-mail.
    Good luck,

  • Mail  File too large

I tried to send too large a file in Mail and now I can't delete it. It has reappeared as 8 copies in recovered mail files and when I try to delete it, it comes back again. My entire computer is bogged down. What can I do?

Well, you have to login to the webmail version of AOL and delete that message there, because that's where the hangup is happening. Then you have to empty the trash there in AOL on the web.
After that, take all your Mail accounts offline as soon as Mail shows you the Message Viewer window. Then look for the original copy of the email you tried to send through AOL in Mail and delete it, along with any copies that might also be present (I'm guessing that you've set it up as an IMAP account); be sure to empty the Trash in Mail and check the Trash folder to be sure there's nothing in it.
Note that if you do have your AOL account setup as an IMAP account, all your mail is stored on the server, so unless you delete things yourself by logging into AOL on the web, all messages that you send are stored there, regardless of whether or not they actually succeed in getting sent. With IMAP accounts, you can't delete email from within Mail; it will be replaced as soon as you check your mail again.

how to stop mail from recovering a too large message

You can't stop Mail from storing sent messages locally. If they're synchronized with the IMAP server, they'll still be present locally. The only way to get the effect you seem to want is to use webmail.

  • Mail is stuck because it cannot send a message too large

The user created a message with pictures as attachment. The message cannot be sent (using a MobileMe account) because it is too large (25 Mb).
The problem is that Mail keeps trying to send the mail, and everytime it fails, it duplicates the message in the Draft folder. The user can delete the duplicate drafts, but they keep on coming back.
It seems very difficult to stop this crazy looping process…

Try quitting the mail app and then open the Macintosh HD open
    User folder/(homefolder)/library/Mail/
Now find the folder with your user name
    (Ex: Mac - username)
open that folder and find the Drafts.imapmbox now open this mbox and you should see two folder one called Messages, and Attachments
now open the Messages folder and delete the e-mail in there. also make sure the e-mail is deleted from the attachments folder as well.
now close this window and relaunch Mail you should no longer have that issues.

It will time out, if it hasn't already. Delete the message from the Outbox.

  • Attachment too large !

Since I reinstalled OS ver 1.0.7.3312 on my Playbook, I an getting this message in all my mail attachments: " Attachment too large " making impossible to download them. When the help buttom next to this message is clicked you get this other message: " The attachment exceeds the download size set by your administrator "
The afore mentioned message appears too when I try to compose a new mail with attachments. This happens ALWAYS, no matter which email account I am using. Otherwise in my bridged BB Bold 9700, attachments are not an issue nor are they in the mail accounts when entered directly trough Playbook's web browser... seems the problem is in the bridged mail client on the Playbook.
Question: How can this fixed?... Already deleted bridge in both equipments and reinstalled it without any result, already did a complete as of factory system install...

I have the same probelm, having just purchased the PB. n my second call to BB, after waiting 20 minutes, I reported tpo them that my BES provider was on version 4.1.4. Response was they need to have 4.1.5 or go to 5.0.3 and i will solve the problem. You'd think they would have had testing this before re;leasing the PB upgrade which triggered the problem. I'm no techie, but after debating on PB and using BB's for many years, this is becomeing to much of a hassle!!
