C3 wlan connection fail

greetings!! i've bought a brandnew nokia c3. ever since i tried connecting to our wifi at home, i always got a "wlan connection failed" message..i used to have a nokia 5800 and ecerything then worked fine with the wifi connection. what seems to be the problem???

Also had the same issue, just after entering the WiFi (WLAN) security code, I'd get the error message "WLAN connection failed".  This was very frustrating, especially as it was a xmas present. The security code was fine as other devices would connect to the WLAN just fine with the same code.
Glad to say this is now fixed but it did involve a firmware upgrade of our Thomson TG585 v8 router, also see http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=66&topicid=68585.
Good luck.

    After Updating Mountain Lion, Mail & Safari keep crashing; WLAN Connection fails;
I have updatet Mountain Lion and since then, Mail & Safari keep crashing plus: WLAN Connections keeps on failing from time to time.
My Router has the newest firmware, i am clueless what to do.
I even cannot shut down my mac properly.

    Hello you all,
I also had the problem of a disconnecting wifi while my imac was sleeping. I did not have the reconnecting issue after sleep, but the lost connection issue during sleep which made it impossible to reach my imac for things like homesharing, apple tv or remote desktop. I have a late 2012 iMac with a clean ML 10.8.2 on it and wirelessly connected to an apple time capsule (same as an airport extreme). My partner has a mid 2007 iMac, also with an ML 10.8.2 on it.
I tried every single solution I could find on the internet, such as changing the router's security from wpa2 to wpa, changing the MTU from automatic to manual 1453, router reboots, re-installations, re-configurations, keychain clean-ups, everything.
Eventually I solved my problem with these steps and now it works as a charm. I can still find the iMac with the remote app, even after 12 hours of sleep:
My time capsule router is set on automatic MTU and encrypted with WPA2 and I use  the 5Ghz network!
    1. Cleaned all the wifi passwords in keychain on my iMac
    2. Created a new network location in system preferences
    3. In this location I deleted the bluetooth pan and bluetooth dun connection.
    4. In this location I changed the preferred connection-order to wifi on #1 and ethernet on #2.
    5. Restarted my iMac.
Now I still have a connection when it sleeps and I can wake it to low profile using the remote app (homesharing) and everything works fine.
Hope more people wille be helped by this.

    "Wrong Password"
There are several reasons why that could happen. One reason: Your network changed from WPA2-PSK back to WPA1-PSK. Some Wi-Fi access-points have silly mixed-mode settings. If your network is in mixed mode, first try the old version: WPA-only (WPA-PSK). Because some very old Wi-Fi access-points do not support WPA2 correctly even for multicast, as next step try the more secure version 2: WPA2-PSK. If that does not work:
Do you have a Mac OS X computer around?
If yes, please, go to Applications » Utilities » Terminal and enter
    /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Apple80211.framework/Resources/airport -I -s
The last part (Security) should be ‘WPA2(PSK/AES/AES)’ and nothing else.
Do you have a Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 computer around?
If yes, please, open a command prompt (as Administrator, keys: Windows-R), and enter
    netsh wlan show networks mode=bssid
The network type has to be not Ad-hoc but Infrastructure.
    The basic rates should be ‘1 2 5.5 6 11 12 24’ (IEEE 802.11g/n) and nothing else.
Do you have a Android device around?
If yes, install the free Wifi Analyzer. Within that tool, please, tap the wrench icon (Settings) » Show full securities. Then go back and have a look at your Wi-Fi.
It must be [WPA2-PSK-CCMP][ESS] and nothing else.
If the connection still fails, please go to the configuration interface of your Wi-Fi access point and change your access-point back to the old WPA-PSK (TKIP-only) and 802.11g (only). If not available, avoid 802.11n and go for 802.11b/g. Does it work now?
If it still does not work, change your settings back to WPA2-PSK (AES-CCMP) only and 802.11g/n. Then, post the results of the above tools. If you do not like to post them into the public, you can send me a private message. But those information are public to your neighbours anyway.

  • Nokia C3 WLAN Connection Failed..

I recently bought a Nokia C3.I have a Wifi at home..(WEP)450TC1-ADSL Router .I use a Vodafone connection.Whenever i try to use WLAN on my cell it detects this Wifi and asks for password. On entering this password it tries to Connect but soon shows WLAN Connection Failed. My WiFi is functional and has no problems. Please help me sort this problem.Thank You.

    Hi,
You are right, its working with additional changes.
In Menu - Settings - Configuration - Default config. settings.
You can try this, it may work.
If you go to Menu - Settings - Configuration - Personal Settings - My Web
And follow the steps, you do not need to fill in any details, just activate it.
Then go to Menu - Internet - Web Settings - Configuration Settings, then select configuration and change to Personal configuaration. Then the 'account' should say my web.
So for good, then check the
Menu - Settings - Configuration - Default config. settings. "Default config. settings", if that still in operator's config settings you have to change this in to "Personal Config."
    then it will work properly

  • C3-00 Wlan Connection Failed (but not before)

    Hi!
I bought a C3-00 today, at the begining, I could connect on my access point, but after charging my Nokia, I could'nt attach to the access point. This message appears now: "Wlan Connection Failed". I read some stuff about firmware update but I can't update my firmware because the 7th version is not available in my region (I'm belgian).
Someone have an idea of the problem?
    Thanks.
    Edit:
My router is a Bbox2 (Belgacom Box)
    Edit2:
I've just try and it's work, it pretty weird. Do you thing problem comes from my router?

    Hi babyhedgehog,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums!
The security code is tied to the phone, not your SIM card. So, we would advice you to soft reset your phone again and try the default security code, which is 12345.
If restoring factory settings does not resolve your issue, you can also try to hard reset your phone. This will remove all settings and personal data from your phone, so we recommend that you first back up your phone with Nokia Suite.
To hard reset your phone, just dial *#7370#.
Let us know if this helps,

  • Bad news for "connection failed, wlan / wifi not f...

Sometime ago I wrote this in my blog: Conn. failed Wlan not found
And, like most of you who are now reading this post, I've spent hours trying to google a solution, totally without success. But at least, after so much reading and learning, I've come to a definite (and very teaching) conclusion: this issue is due to nothing less but a shameful bug in Symbian^3's DHCP client. There's no blaming the router's settings or characteristics, because with exactly the same routers and settings, most other phones can connect.
However, I always hoped that the Nokia crew were taking note of this bug and working on it, and I've spent months waiting for a fix in some of the firmware updates. I've done two updates since I got the phone (mine is a C7, but I believe it's a Symbian^3 "feature"), to no avail: disheartedly, both times I've seen that the bug remained there.
"Maybe in Symbian Belle?" I said to myself. "Of course. They can't be that blunt! The've got to fix it in Belle." So, yesterday I updated my C7 with the "leaked" Belle firmware and, you know what? Yes! They've been certainly working on the bug! This way:
So far, when trying to connect to some wireless routers we got the error message: "Conn. failed. Wlan not found". Now, after making us wait so much for Belle (and not yet officially released), there's no such message any more!
Oh, well, certainly we still can't connect to the router, but now the message reads: "Connection failed. Wi-fi netw. not found".
Nokia, this is un-be-lie-va-ble. I know you're reading this. Will you ever fix the mentioned problem in Symbian? It's no small bug, folks.

    Hi Torben
Thank you for contacting Nokia Care customer support.
Since we wrote last I have got a lot more experience with the Belles situation in this area.
Recently suspicion fell on a bug in old saved data from the "Anna" that causes general network error.
To solve it, there must be a backup - but NOT the programs / settings, since they bear the error.
Subsequently, disconnect the phone from, select the Offline profile (Press and hold the cards on the off button and choose the one on this list)
"Ring" now * # 7370 # accept and enter the security code is 12345, if it asks for it.
Your security code if you have change it.
Set Time & Date and reviewing start-up menus.
Get immediately sent to the settings for data and multimedia.
Restart your phone and try now about the Internet is working properly.
Do they do it; you can safely restore contacts and whatever else you have in your backup.
I would personally appreciate it if you want to participate in a brief survey that will be about my response to you. Customer survey will receive a separate e-mail.
If there is anything I can do for you, then you're obviously more than welcome to contact me again.
    Sincerely
    Jannik Petersen

  • Cisco ACS 5.1 802.1x auth fails on LAN when WLAN connected

I am running Cisco ACS 5.1 802.1x with certificate based authentication for Wired and Wireless connections. The issue that I am having is that when a user comes in from home with their laptop the wireless connection works, they pass the authentication and have network access fine. But when the plug the laptop into a docking station the LAN connection fails and gets put in the Auth Failure Vlan.
A reboot of the phone/ shut/no shut fixes this, but I really need to find a resolution
This is an intermittent fault and only effects users with both LAN and WLAN enabled.
    Running ACS 5.1.0.44, all Cisco 3750s - c3750-ipservicesk9-mz.122-55.SE.
Certificates are issues by group policy and only using computer authentication.
any help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

After a long TAC case with Cisco we discovered that the Mitel phone was not sending the EAPoL-Logoff packet so the switch still thought that the device off the back of the phone was connected.
There are no EAPoL-Logoff messages seen on switch when laptop is disconnected/port is shut down.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/solutions/Enterprise/Security/TrustSec_1.99/Dot1X_Deployment/Dot1x_Dep_Guide.html#wp386903
This feature is supported by most IP phones -  I do not know if Mitel phones support that but we cannot see this message in the debugs you sent.
As a workaround we can configure inactivity timer (by default it is infinity):

  • Mail: "connection failed", problem associated with software update

When I attempt to get mail, I frequently get a symbol on the side panel of an encircled triangle enclosing an exclamation point. If I click on the symbol, I get a message that says (condensed): “connection failed, check settings for your POP account, server error encountered, connection timed out on port 0, do you want to stay offline or go online.” If I click go online, the usual spinning circle appears and then sometimes I get my mail. Sometimes I have to repeat the process several times before I get mail. I am, of course, always online; the connection has never failed. This problem started some time ago after I updated Apple software. I called my ISP and they made a few changes in my mail preferences, but that didn't help. I used disc utility to repair disc permissions and that helped but (strangely enough) only for a few days. This problem was discussed several years ago in message #1724339 but nobody could solve it. Can anyone solve it now? Thanks. Robert Pollock

    Hi Wolfgang,
check out the "Nokia 808 Belle FP1 bug: WLAN works, but not all ap..." thread. Looks like you are having the same issue, and there's quite some info on this issue in that thread. The issue must be related to Symbian Belle somehow, since Anna and S60v5 are reported to perform well under the same conditions.
    Best regards,

  • N95 WLAN Connection problems - Orange Livebox (UK)

I am trying to get the N95 to connect to the internet wirelessly through Orange Livebox (UK). I have run the WLAN wizard and the phone has identified it. I have input the WEP key and thats worked fine.......except everytime I try to connect to the net via this method I get a connection error. Has anybody else had WLAN connection problems? Can anybody help?

    hi,
did you press "1" button at the back of the Livebox before pairing ?
what kind of error message do you get on the N95 ?
does it fail the same way when you go through the homescreen "WiFi scanning / Start Web Browsing" or through Tools / WLAN Wizard ?

  • Remote Speaker (AirTunes) Error - "the network connection failed"

I am getting a strange error message when I try to stream music through an AirTunes remote speaker. iTunes tells me this:
*An error occurred while connecting to the remote speaker "NN". The network connection failed.*
I can't say what has changed for this error to occur. Last time I used the system it worked fine, now it doesn't. I do know I have upgraded iTunes a couple of times since, though.
I am connecting to an 802.11g AirPort Express running firmware version 6.3.
Both our computers (MacBook & MacBook Pro) run Mac OS version 10.5.8.
In my system, the AirPort Express functions solely as a wireless speaker client, as the WLAN network itself is based around an 802.11n AirPort Extreme.
The AP shows a green light, and reports no problems in AP Utility.
When I change the device's "iTunes Speaker Password" setting in AP Utility, iTunes in both our computers immediately reflect the change, so apparently the various parts in the system do speak to one another just fine. They just can't transmit music, for some reason...
Anyone have any idea what might be going on, here?

I have a similar problem. I use AE(g) with a Powerbook G4 and always get this error, which kind of bugs me, since all the settings appear to be correct. Unlike you though, I didn't make it work, not a single time — closing lid, opening and closing iTunes, resetting AE, yet no luck. Tried it all only with current versions of software.
However, the AE does sense when I unplug the speakers, since it first says "no speakers found", and then "the network connection failed". Strange is that the error has no number, nor does Console provide any clues. Sometimes it is pretty annoying when OS X just says "error". What error, where, why... Feels like good ol' windows times.

  • Satellite A100-003 WLAN connection timeout(with WPA-PSK)

I have a Satellite A100-003 notebook with preinstalled Windows Vista.
When I try connect to my router with WPA-PSK (TKIP) I have error:
Wireless authentication failed because of a timeout.
My notebook and router configurated correctly!! I installed new intel drivers for 3945ABG chip.
    WPA2-PSK and WEP work fine.

    Hi
The same happened on my old notebook.
I was not able to establish the WLan connection for longer than 1min with WPA encryption.
I have downloaded the newest Atheros driver and updated everything.
Everything works fine with WEP but not WPA.
Then I have disabled the Windows own configuration option and use the Atheros client utility. Now everything works fine!
I would recommend using the Intel Proset utility and check all possible settings!

  • Satellite T110 - WLan connection has recently stopped working

I have a Toshiba Satellite T110 with Windows 7 Home Premium.
The wireless connection has recently stopped working, with the yellow exclamation mark showing over the device symbol.
On looking at the driver management screen, the following message is shown.
"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"
Nothing I have tried seems to shake this error.
I tried the Toshiba assist diagnostic tool. It simply says the Wireless Connection failed its test.
I don't know how problem came about because the system worked for about three weeks without a hitch, but I would like to know if anyone else has any experience at solving this problem.
I could try a rebuild, but I'd prefer not to loose my OS.

Yes, I downloaded the driver, and re-installed it so it over wrote the existing driver and the WLAN came back and works OK, using it now.
THis issue was more complicated than I initially thought and I pass it on to help/warn others.
All my LAN connections were lost, while I was using a public open connection. I suspect a virus. I still have parts of the LAN hardware out, but not stuff I am currently using.
The Toshiba recovery options were in fact quite limited, without an ability to access all the dud drivers, other than each by hand. A painful process.
THanks for your help. Another 'gator sunk.
