C309g-m printer keeps showing as "disconnected"

I have a new HP Photosmart c309g-m. I'm trying to configure it to my wireless network via a D-Link router. My OS is Vista. I've followed the installation procedures on the cd, and used the touch screen to add it to the network. But everytime I unplug the USB cable, the printer is showing as "disconnected". Any suggestions??

Run the installation CD again, this time choose Network Installation instead of USB connection.

The printer works fine for a while, then goes offline. I've basically got to kick start it again to get it to reconnect to web services. There's got to be a better way? This thing seems buggy.

So the printer is going offline and you are losing your web services? Have you updated the printer's firmware, yet? There is actually a fix for this at www.hp.com/support. Just select the green box that says Software and Drivers and type in the name of your printer and press the enter key. Next, select the operating system of your computer, download and install the firmware update located on that web page. If you have any more questions I am more than happy to help.
However, if this doesn't fix the issue, I will need to know some more information. Like what is the operating system of your computer (Windows 7 64 bit, Windows XP 32 bit, Mac OS Version 10.8, etc)? How is the printer connected to the router (ethernet or wireless)? Are you having any other problems as well (please be specific with any error messages if so)? What is the printer's IP address? And lastly, are any other devices having similar problems?

My ENVY 4500 Printer keeps disconnecting (not WiFi)

My ENVY 4500 Printer keeps disconnecting sporatically. One minute I can print just fine, the next the printer can't be reached. The printer status shows "The printer is not connected."
This keeps happening from all the devices, not just my iMAC. I tried from my PC Laptop, from my iPad, iPhone. Same story. When it goes off, it goes off for all devices. I tried reinstalling the printer, tried restarting it, unplugging it. Nothing seems to fix it.
If I print the report right from the printer durring this time, it says everything is connected and no problems found (see image attached).
Then after a while, like an hour or two later, all of a sudden the printer will spit out all the prints that were sitting in the queue.
I have contacted the support and they logged into the printer and reset some settings and it started working, then about a week later it did it again. It continues to do this maybe once a week or so.
I don't know what to do any more. Anybody have any ideas?

Have you tried turning Touch ID off and then back on?
If it continues to fail it is probably a hardware error and you will need to get it serviced.

My HP Photosmart Premium C310a printer keeps disconnecting from my network. I have tried disconnecting my Firewall and AVG virus software, all to no avail. Can anyone help?

This is an issue I have seen multiple times, and telling people to check their network settings, or to fix wireless settings does NOT address the root cause of the problem.   For those who are English-impared, here is a very clear explanation of what is going on:
The printer is REMOVED from devices and printers, seemingly at random.    This is NOT a problem with "The printer is not printing", where fixing the network or resetting IP addresses will fix it.   The printer is GONE, and needs to be added again.
I know networking, and at no time should a loss of connection cause the printer to just be removed from Printers and Faxes, Printers, or anything like that.    If the connection is lost, the connection is lost, but the printer SHOULD still be set up in Windows, just pointing at the wrong place(if the IP address has been changed).
I suspect that it is more likely that the HP Update software is the culprit, and will test that theory today with a customer who has this problem.    It also seems to be limited to the HP Photosmart line of printers, since the Officerjet line does not seem affected by the bug.

Keeps showing Do Not Disconnect never goes away

I have a older ipod not sure what it is actully called it is slim and black and 4GB it is not working when I plug it into the computer it just keeps showing Do Not Disconnect and it never goes away.

My wireless connection to my HP printer keeps failing

I recently got a Macbook Pro and upgraded our printer to a wireless HP one. Since I installed it to work wirelessly it has worked for a short time and then the Macbook says it cannot find the printer or cannot connect to the printer, even though the printer is on and connected to the wireless network.
I have removed the printer from my print & scan settings and reinstalled - it connected fine for around 10 minutes and then lost the connection again. This morning having deleted it again, it was detected as a nearby printer and I'm able to print. However this dropping connection and having to keep deleting and detecting the printer is annoying.
Five minutes later and the connection is gone again - the printer is on and functioning perfectly but my print settings show it as idle and when I try to print it just hangs and says cannot connect. I have pinged it successfully and it does appear in my Bonjour bookmarks.
From what I'm reading on this supprt forum it seems that many different makes of wireless printers have this problem with the Lion OS. I'm wondering if this is the case or is it something I'm doing wrong? Until I read all the different threads I was intending to exchange my printer but it seems that may not fix the problem.
Any advice with this would be really appreciated.

With you being able to ping the printer and connect to the internal web page of the HP via the Bonjour bookmark, then I would agree that exchanging the printer may not fix the problem.
If you connect to the internal web page of the printer, does it provide a section where you can see the signal strength and or quality? This may give some clues as to how well it is connected to the wireless network.
Another thing you could do is check if you can connect to the printer using an IP protocol like HP Jetdirect-Socket instead of Bonjour. If the printer does support this then it may prove more stable than Bonjour.

Hp 6310 all in one printer keeps automatically uninstalling

HP 6310 All-in-one printer purchased in 2008.
The printer keeps automatically uninstalling itself.
1. I have tried everything including downloading drivers.
2. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled from disc. It still keeps happening.
3. I have tried leaving the computer and printer on over night so that the setup does not change. No it still happens.
4. Even when I do get it printing. It can print of some pages. The after some pages it decides that it and the printer has again uninstalled.
5. It can take hours to get the printer to work. Installing, switching the printer on and off. Even when the printer is set up and states its all ok. The printer won't work. Well sometimes it might but mostly not.

I see you are experiencing printer driver issues. I would love to try and help you, but I do need a little information first. I am linking a few HP Support documents below that will show you how to find which operating system you are using. Also, if you're using Windows, please include whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit.

Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
Also, do you have the same issue making a copy as opposed to a print?

My HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m printer frequently gives me false "low ink" readings, which wouldn't be a big deal except that unlike other printers I've had, instead of just printing as best it can on low ink, it refuses to print at all.
I know the readings are false:
(a) because I've only recently refilled the ink - (since this started I write down when I refilled the ink and note the number of print jobs, which can be as low as 10 and the false readings can occur) and
(b) my only work around so far is to turn the printer off and on until the false readings stop, it then shows the correct ink levels and does print, but his can often take 5 or 6 times of "off and on." Very annoying.
Questions:
Has anyone else experienced this?
If so, is there a fix?
If no fix, is there a way to change the printer default configuration so it will print anyway -with low ink - instead of simply refusing to print?
Any help is appreciated.

Maybe there is some ink on the connections to the cartridges. This document may help with checking those areas after you installed new cartridges last time:

If it is under warranty, bring it in to Apple Store, most of our suggestions, comes from the Apple support site..
Besides Restoring the iPod, there are winsocks which have conflict with iTunes, perhaps, disable those plugins and disconnect the Internet and stop antivirus, while you are Restoring or Syncing the iPod.

Ipod keeps connecting then disconnecting

I've tried everything possible to try to make my Ipod mini work. I can't connect it to the PC because it keeps connecting and disconnecting repeatedly. I can't restore it since I can't connect it. I've tried all the different USB ports and I've installed and uninstalled all the programs a few times. I've also reset it connected and disconnected. It has worked before but now it won't! This is driving me nuts

Similar problem here too plus when I do manage to get them to connect they will not charge.
Both my classic iPods work fine, in all my computers, and show that they are charging, but my family have 3 nanos, a 4th and two 5ths. Although they all connect to my PC and my laptop fine, none of these will connect correctly to my daughters PC no matter what USB port I put them in.
I have checked in device manager that the ports are powered (500ma) and nothing else is there to infringe on this supply. Still these items connect and disconnect constantly. Ironically every now and then, they will connect and allow me to look at the files etc in iTunes. I have at one point had two nanos and my classic connected to her computer and they all worked fine for about an hour, I thought that I had finally got rid of the problem but one by one the nanos started to play up again so this exacerbates the problem somewhat.
I also get various warnings when the Nanos are trying to connect like, software driver failure to install, it will work faster in a high speed USB port, nano needs formatted to work in windows plus a host of others. When I plug them back into my PC they connect fine, so that all adds to the confusion. If this was one nano I would suspect that it was faulty but it is three different ones.
I have done the 5 Rs, I have even gone as far as upgrading from XP to Windows 7, I have plugged the units into every USB port, I even bought a new PCI/USB card and tried that and still this problem persists.
I would like to hear from someone with any suggestions as to what is causing this and how to fix it.

If you are trying to make the overall graphic of the certificate smaller, click on the image and you should see corner handles, drag those in holding down the Shift key (to keep the proportions constant).

Still having problems but here's more info: Checked "Resume" but Message next to the job says ERROR but that 'Pinter is ready'.
However, on the PRINT & FAX page in System Preferences it has 'Idle' next to the psc1317 (default) printer.The computer scans the document but wil not print it. With printer off I disconnected the power cable and the USB from the computer then re-connected after 1 minute. When I turned the printer back on it printed the test sheet but not the document. I have also unistalled then reinstalled the hp1317 Snow Leopard software and driver and computer says that all software is up to date. Apart from a dodgy connection I have no idea where to go from here!

Ipod keeps showing same GB?

I just want to know if anybody knows how to fix your ipod when it keep showing the same number of gigs? In the itune program it says that that it has 2 gigs used but when i check in my ipod it says that it only has one gig? Does anyone know how to resolve this?

transfer songs onto it or anything else.
If you have it set to auto sync, then make your changes(buy music, add to a playlist, etc)THEN you have to eject iPod, then plug it back it in for the changes to take effect. If iPod is set to manually manage music, then you can drag stuff to it,even while it says "do not disconnect".
