C310 photosmart cartridges showing empty after 300 pages printed

The c310a has been going through cartidges like crazy with hardly any pages printed. I call tech support which informed me that it was a sensor defect(hardware problem). The tech then continued to tell me that for $168.00 I could buy another model which uses the same cartidges, 564#. I did not pay that much for the c310a. I own three HP laptops and a destop. I will not buy any more HP products if they continue to use "made in china" products with no support. I guess it is time to look at other brands since they cannot fix a printer to get more than 300 pages of mostly text.

Officejet 6600 New Ink Cartridge Shows Empty

I bought brand new color ink cartridges from Bestbuy for my Officeject 6600. I printed one color page. After a week when i tried to print in color, it is telling me the color cartridges are empty or near empty! Can you believe it -- only after one page printed. This looks like a scam by HP to me. Please tell me that it is not. That HP does not sell color ink cartridges that you are obligated to use EVERY DAY or else it fails after one print. It makes me never want to buy an HP product again. I would like to assist you with this. For your information, depending on whether you were using regular or XL sized colour cartridges, you can yield approximately 330 to 825 pages per colour cartridge. One colour print job, barring manufacturing defects in the cartridge, is not enough to drain a full set. Click here for more information on the limited warranty on HP ink supplies. Have you been printing a lot of text only (black ink) print jobs? If yes, as you will see here and here coloured ink is often used in black only print jobs, unless you've configured your printer settings in Windows or Mac to be otherwise. In the HP Ink Usage in Inkjet Printers article that I've linked above, you can learn how and when ink is used by your printer in print jobs and other features. Further to that, some ink (including coloured ink) is used to service the print head and to prevent clogging. If after reviewing the information I've provided, your printer settings on PC or Mac you're still feeling something's amiss, I recommend you reach out to our tech support team. HP 7280 all-in-one says ink cartridges are empty and will not print from PC, but it copies fine.

Replaced 2 ink cartridges in hp 7280 but still says both cartridges are empty and will not print from PC, but it will copy fine. When I try to print I get a error box that says "Ink cartridges empty - replace black and yellow ink cartridges to continue." They are brand new - just bought them - expiration date Sep 2015. Have tried rebooting and disconnecting and reconnecting everything. Same error, but it still will do color copies fine - all cartridges are working. Help?!

I understand you have a Photosmart C7280 that you are unable to print to from your computer. I'm sorry to hear about this, but I will certainly do my best to assist you in resolving this issue.
Before I can offer any suggestions I do need to know which version of Windows or Mac that you're using and how the printer is connected (wireless or USB). Once I have that information I should be able to help you better. Printer making a terrible grinding noise after each page printed

My new HP Officejet 4620 is making a grinding sound after each page printed. I have checked to make sure all packaging material have been removed. Anyone else having this issue?

Could still have something stuck in the printer, I would follow the steps in the link below, and if that doesn't work - call HP as the printer is so new.

HP Photosmart 5520 All toner cartridges showing empty or damaged & now Carridge Stall

Howdy.
As per the title, my 5520 is having some serious issues. It started a few days ago when I got the message that all 4 cartridges were empty, missing, or damaged. Tried reseating them a few times, cleaned off the contact point, all the things mentioned in the video with no luck.
Today I am still having that problem, but now I am having an additional issue. The printer carridge seems to be stuck in the far right position. When you open the lid it tries to move right but jame. It tries this 3-4 times quickly then gives me the stall warning. If I try to move it manually to the left, I have the same resistance. All the ink cartridges are seated and locked correctly in their carriage, and there are no jams of any kind visible.
Followed all the steps in the video with no luck, though there are no instructions for a carriage that is stuck to the far right.
Additionally when I turn it off and back on using the power button on the front, it comes up with an error on start up saying that I improperly shut it down and should use the power button in the future... only thing is, that's what I did.

Cartridge carriage stalls after each page

I have a psc 1315 all-in-one printer that works perfectly to one exception. After finishing a page and before releasing it, the cartridge carriage starts making a clunking sound that makes the whole printer stagger. It then stops, lights up the "check paper" and "check print cartridge" lights, and an error box comes up saying "cartridge stalled". When I lower the print gate it releases the page and the "check paper" light comes off. When I lift the gate back up it makes some more clunking sounds and the "check print cartridge" light comes off. Then silence... When I print a self test page this is what I get:

HP says there is no way to turn the message off. ( BAD HP!!)
However, since I want to only print in black, I may have found a workaround.
Win XP -- Control panel--Printers and Faxes -- Print Preferences -- Advanced -- Print in Greyscale -- select "Black ink only"
No message and the installed trial color cartridge still shows full after several days of printing.
( Sadly this does not seem to work on my wife's HP printer/scanner )

A new black cartridge shows an allignment failure & nothing prints on testing

Installed new black cartridge my officejet 6500 it wont print.. on an allignment test, I get 6 color blocks, nothing else. I've allingnet it 6 times and no change It was ok before the new cart.

New photo doesn't show up after updating page.

Hi all,
I created a page and uploaded it to my site. Later I added a new photo at the bottom of the page, added a stroke around it and added some text as well. I saved the page in iWeb and uploaded it to my server. Everything looks good in iWeb but the new photo doesn't show up on my site. The text is there as well as the stroke around the photo, but no photo. I have tried resaving and reuploading. I have also cleared my cache. Also, the file for the photo is now in the folder on my computer. It's like iWeb displays the images but hasn't saved it on my hard drive. Any ideas? Thanks.

First, hit refresh once or twice when you are at the offending page. Next, a few questions: what browser are you using and are you hosting on .mac or another service?
If refreshing the page doesn't fix the problem try and verify if the photo is being uplaoded online. Do this by checking under the support files for that particular page.
Here is an example of how to do that from my site: http://web.mac.com/ekashley/iWeb/Ash%20Films/Welcome.html has a large image of an orchid. I can verify that the file is there by going to http://web.mac.com/ekashley/iWeb/Ash%20Films/Welcome_files/Color%20Orchid.png and the photo will load by itself, proving it is there.
An easier way would be just to look under your idisk folder. But there is more then one way to verify.

Library showing empty after upgrade to iPhoto 11

Hi all,
Yesterday I decided to upgrade to iPhoto 11, basically because I eventually want to go to Aperture. Although I have been reading about all the problems around iPhoto 11, I decided to give it a try. For one of my libraries the upgrade caused a lot of problems, but I got it working at the end. The second library, though, will not upgrade at all. Instead it is showing an empty library, as if you are using iPhoto for the first time. The library isn't empty, though, because I can still access it with iPhoto9.
So there must be something preventing iPhoto11 from doing its thing, but I haven't the foggiest. I have tried all sorts of things I came across in fora (except rebuilding the whole library) but to no avail.
Does any of you have a brilliant idea as to what I could do to get iPhoto11 working ?

Since you still can open the library in question in iPhoto '09, iPhoto '11 cannot have opened the library at all. Once a library has been opened in iPhoto '11, no earlier version will be able to open it. The empty library you are seeing when trying to open that library in iPhoto '11, must be a new default library, that iPhoto '11 is creating, since it cannot open that library.
I suggested to try to launch iPhoto in Library First Aid Mode, to force ito open that library. Quite often does this trick iPhoto into opening a library, that it will not open otherwise.
This is a general issue: it does not seem to be possible to set a standard program to open a certain filetype.
Have you tried to use the "Change all" button? Then all ".photolibrary" libraries will be opened in iPhoto '11.

The hit counter button does not show up after publishing page.

I insert the hit counter button to a new blog post and when I publish, the button does not show up.
I would really like to use the counter as this is a blog for a class I am teaching, and I would like to track
student viewing.
Also, sometimes the colors do not publish properly, specifically with links/rollover feature.

I did was remove the hit counter, publish the page without the hit counter.
Then inserted the hit counter again and wah-lah!

All applications quit unexpectedly after choosing page/print setup

i recently installed HP photosmart c6180 All-in-one printer. not working properly. now all applications that have print options dont function when choosing page setup or print. can anyone pls help me. i have installed and uninstalled a few times

Here's several things you could try.
1. Open the Printer Setup Utility (Applications > Utilities), delete the driver again and then click on Printer Setup Utility and select Reset Printing System. Restart the Mac and then add the printer again.
2. Downloading and installing the 10.4.10 Combo update for the type of Mac you have (ie. PPC or Intel)
3. Opening Disk Utility and running Repair Disk Permissions
4. Using Fixamac's Printer Setup Repair utility to see if it can determine what is wrong with the printing system.

Black and magenta cartridges showing up empty on printer

Okay..my printer is a dinosaur. HP 6180 Photosmart. Last night I moved it as I was cleaning. Today when I went to print, the screen of my laptop said that the black and magenta cartridges were empty. I broke up my day, went out and bought and installed new cartridges. Hewlitt Packard brand cartridges purchased from Staples. I am getting the same message. The ink levels on the printer itself show that the black and magenta are full. If anything, it indicates the blue needs to be replaced soon. Have some photos that need printing...help!

For further assistance, I will need some additional information:
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer can make a self-test page. Printing the Self-Test Diagnostic Page.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
In the meantime, if you are using Windows, please try the HP Print and Scan Doctor.

HP Photosmart C6180 printer. Says the magenta ink cartridge is empty when it is new.

I own a HP Photosmart C6180 printer. It sat for several months so I replaced all of the ink cartridges. It will not print because it says the magenta ink cartridge is empty. It is brand new and i can see the ink inside of it. I am not sure what to do. I don't want to take it to get serviced as I live several hours from any computer or printer repair shop. Please help!

Owned HP Photosmart Premium C310 since 2011-01-03. Installed 5 new HP cartridges. Now it won't print

We bought the HP Photosmart Premium C310 on 2011-01-03. On April 6, I had to install all 5 new HP ink cartridges. Now it won't print at all. It accepts the "Print" command, makes noises as if it is printing, pulls the paper through slowly while it "pretends" to be printing, but the page comes out with NO INK on it. I have gone through all the many, many "self-help" solutions HP offers, on the printer screen itself, through the computer desktop "HP Solution Center," and also online at HP.com. It is still in warranty, so I am thinking I should just take it back to Best Buy and tell them to repair it. I'd really like to get it working. Any suggestions?

Step four: Install a firmware upgrade
Check for a firmware upgrade that might help solve the problem:
On the product control panel, touch the Setup icon ( ).
Touch Web .
Touch Product Updates .
Touch Check for Product Updates .
Touch Yes to update. The update might take 10 to 20 minutes. Do not turn off the printer until the update is complete. The printer will shut down and start back up automatically.
