HP PHOTOSMART 310A printer will not feed paper. It is about 6 months old, with minimal use at home. It has always done a lot of clicking, but now when it would normally feed the paper, it clicks for several seconds, and the top piece of paper does not feed, it then clicks again, like it is trying feed paper, then to back the paper out, and then stops. The printer then posts a no paper in tray error. When I reload it does the same thing again. Does the printer not have a optical paper in tray sensor? It should be able to see the paper is in the tray fairly easily, not sure why it uses the feed roller to sense paper?
It does not seem to work, regardless of the number of sheets used. 1, 10, 25, or mostly full of paper.
The clicking sounds more like gears slipping, rather than the normal clicking it makes all the time. (with about 30 or 40 clicks in a few seconds, all at a fairly regular rate.)
it only clicks after the little arm extends down and touches the top of the paper stack. There is a metal arm, with two white wheels that is dropped from above the paper onto the tray, and it appears to be that arm that is clicking. It looks like it is trying to push the first (top) sheet of paper into the printer. The top sheet does not move. If I push the paper, it will take the paper and run just fine for that one sheet.
I opened the back, and there is an area with a couple of larger wheels that look like they feed the paper up from the tray into the printer. In that area there was a cardboard piece with CN503-00012 printed on the side. It appeared to be loose in the cover, and not sure what that is for? if it should be there? or if it is related, I removed the cardboard piece. Not sure what to do with that. I do not think it is nessisarily related, since if I can feed the paper by pushing it, it takes it and prints.
Help explain what is going on.

I do not recognize the cardboard peice you describe - I just opened up my c310a and did not see anything like this. It may have been part of the packing material....
At any rate, I would suggest following the troubleshooting steps in this page.

You said that your computer will sync other iPods? Are they iPod touches? Other iPod use different drivers the the touch And iPhone and iPad).
You can try:

However, there are many highly experienced volunteer users here willing to help.
Can you please clarify: are you saying that your Flood filter (whatever that is) is in your Bridge folder but not in Photoshop?
UPDATE: I Googled your Flood Filter and discovered it's not an Adobe filter at all. Have you contacted its manufacturer, Flaming Pear? What do they say?

Go to Options>Applications tab > search MPEG Layer 3 audio(audio/mpeg) > use "Save File" option on drop down menu.

My gmail, which is correctly configured for Mail with gmail SMTP and Google IMAP, works for awhile on Mail, which I leave open while working on other applications. But several times a day I get msg from Google: "We recently blocked a sign-in attempt to your Google Account" . . . and requiring me to verify my account details, re-enter passwords, confirm security settings (or change them from "disable" to "enable less secure methods" and so on). In Mail I also have tried "taking all accounts online", and re-entering my gmail password inside Mail account settings. These steps successfully re-set comms between gmail and Mail ... for awhile, then it happens again. Enough occurrences over a work day that I just quit Mail and revert to accessing gmail directly. Apple Care advisor and an Apple knowledge base article say that Apple can't deal with this, as gmail is third-party app, and they refer me to gmail, and so far I've found nothing helpful there.
From today I also have several instances of a window saying "Mail has unexpectedly closed" and asking me to Re-open it.
I also use Yahoo mail, which stops working with Mac Mail at the same time as gmail, but I do not receive notices to re-verify from Yahoo.
I recently upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite. The Mail problem happened occasionally with Mavericks but is far more frequent with Yosemite.

This gets you an unlock key to open Outlook, which you will find is already in the Office folder, but locked.

Now, each time I wish to print either, I have to rest paper size and or Envelope vertical or horizontal. Log in to the Developer forum. You will find instructions on how to install the lastest beta. Your problem is the beta you have installed has expired. All of them did on October 5; you will find hundreds of threads discussing this. If you have a beta it is assumed that you will continue as a beta tester, so a simple update using iTunes will not work.
If you no longer want to be a beta tester install the GM 7.0.2 by restoring from iTunes using DFU mode.

I have been trying to help a friend who is having problems publishing her website. (She has done so previously using Mobile me)
There seem to be a couple of things wrong with the application,
1 if I drag the application icon onto the dock, it won't stay there
2 I wanted to change where her site is published to (she has bought a domain name and has a hosting service now) but when I click on the domain name I do not get the "site publishing settings page" so we can't enter the new details. All that comes up is the main page of her website.
I would suggest uninstalling and re-installing Iweb, to see if that clears the problem, but as Iweb came pre-installed with her Imac, I am not sure that we can do this.
Any ideas please?

NO - not correct. Even if you are still using iWeb 08, you can still publish to another host and not MobileMe. You do this by selecting the option 'Publish to a local folder" and this will publish the site to your desktop and you can then use an ftp programme such as Cyberduck to upload your site to your host.
MobileMe will not be here after the end of June, so you will have to find alternative hosting. They are not taking any new subscriptions.
On new Macs, iLife 11 is pre-installed, but only iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand are included, not iWeb and iDVD. The Apple Online store is not selling the boxed version of iLife 11 any longer, so if you want to upgrade to iLife, then you'll have to look online at Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk for a boxed set of either iLife 09 or iLife 11. Both contains iWeb 09, which is what you would want.

Printer needs static IP address - I think I know what to do, but not sure

I got a new HP 8500A wireless network printer. I have used a US Robotics MAXg wireless router (Model 5461A) for years with zero issues. I have 2 Windows XP PRO computers, and 1 Windows 7 Home Premium. (Plus the Wii, a Kindle, Blu-Ray player, and couple cell phones at various times on the network.)
When I first installed it, the IP address was 192.168.2.9. Today, one of my XP computers couldn't find it, and the IP address had changed to 192.168.2.4. (I have no idea why the other two computers caught the change.) My understanding is that I need to give the printer a static IP address.
My Router status page says that the DHCP server uses a range from .2 to .31.
Therefore, this is what I think I need to do:
In my printer network settings, I need to change from "automatic" to "Manual" with the following values:
IP = 192.168.2.32
Subnet = 255.255.255.0 (from router LAN status page)
Default Gateway = 192.168.2.1 (from router LAN status page)
DNS server = 192.168.2.1 (from router LAN status page)
Alternate DNS server = ?? I have no idea for this one
Then I have to re-install the printer on all three computers with the new static IP, right?
Do I do anything to the router?

You have it right. For ease of input, use the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS). Type the current IP into a browser from any of the PC's and you will see it. Navigate to the Networking tab, then choose IPv4 on the left (or similar, there are getting to be a lot of variations in the EWS structure).
Leave the second DNS server blank. You should not have to do anything in the router, except perhaps reboot it with its power cord to issue the new IP.
After that you should be able to delete the printer in the PC's control panel and then re-add them.
