C440 Problems with HDMI

I am connecting my C440 All in One running Windows 8.1to the TV. From the Devices charm I chose Project and then Duplicate.
Everytime the PC screen blanks out. Doesn't matter if I chose to select just for the PC as soon as i connect he HDMI cable the PC screen goes completely blank.
What am i doing wrong

I have a C440 All in One Touch which i want to connect to the TV using HDMI cable. The TV is quite a distance away so i want to set it up with Dual display, Desktop and TV. I have used the Devices charm on windows 8.1 "Project" to try to do it but everytime I connect - doesn't matter what the charm setting is - I lose the display on my Desktop.
What do I need to do to get this most basic of things to work

  • Toshiba 22L1334G problems with HDMI

First of all, thanks everyone for trying to help me :)
Now let's get to the problem: i bought this Tv-Monitor yesterday and i've immediatly connected it to my PC (Video Card AMD R9 270X) with HDMI cable (The cable is rev. 1.4 and less then 1.5m).
The overall definition is very good, but i actually have 2 problems:
first, the colors are really saturated and i can't get them natural even setting the Video Card Values.
Second, the text with little font if it isn't black is very blurred and pixeled, very difficoult to read.
Searching o Google i found similiar problems for lot's of people, but they resolved the problems simply setting the HDMI as PC input.
Unfortunately they were using Samsung's or LG's displays and in my Toshiba one there isn't the setting to set the HDMI as PC signal.
What can i do to use this TV as monitor in a good way?

    Hi
First of all I have to say that this Toshiba 22L1334G device isnt an PC monitor but its an TV which can be connected to the computer using the available RGB (VGA) port.
So in case you want to connect an computer to this TV and want to use it as an external monitor, you should use the available VGA port
I have to say that I had the same problems in the past with the blurred fonts using the HDMI port.
I connected had an monitor/TV combo device and connected my notebook to an external monitors HDMI port.
The blurred fonts were really a pain using office applications But I found a solution; my device supported an additional DVI port and I could connect my notebook to monitor using HDMI-to-DVI cable.
My other monitor supports from another manufacturer supports additional settings to change the font sharpness so I can use the HDMI port.

  • I bought a new MBA and are having problems with HDMI and VGA port

    Hi,
I just bought a new mac book air, and at the apple stre they recommended me a mosh mini to vga cabel. I need to use my computer for projector either hdmi or regular vga adapte. The new mba only has thunderbolt, usb, memory/card slot, microphone and headphone ports.
Does anyboody has and idea how i will  or how do i connect the hdmi or vga adapaters to the computer. I have been searching on the cables the apple store has available but the end that goes into the computer is not compatible with the ones I mentioned above.
Please any help would be of great help, because I dont know what to do. I think this is a problem with the new MBA.
    thank you,

Thank you doubr.  So what I need is to buy the thunderbolt cable  and the minidisplayport to vga adapter or the griifin mini display port to hdmi tht toothpickproductions recommends, is that correct?
The one I have is a mini dvi to vga adapter and the end that goes into the computer is the same one that the minisdisplayport to vga adapter or the griffin one have, and is too big to go into the new mba. I dont know if I am confusing you more with what I am saying.
check the link below and you will see the ports the mba has
    http://www.apple.com/macbookair/specs.html
if you see the ports that mba has, the two minidosplayport that are recommending do not fit..
So, do you know that if I buy the thunderboldt cable will either of the two minidisplay ports fit or I  need to buy another adapter for the minidisplay ports??
thank you because I am kind of confused, I did not have this problem with the macbookpro I had before...

  • Problems with HDMI switching

I am having problems getting HDMI signals to come through on the receiver and TV. If the home theater system has been off for several hours, I am finding that when I use the Harmony 700 remote and select the watch TV option, the TV is displaying 'Weak or No Signal' and the receiver is displaying 'no signal.' I have to turn everything off and back on again up to six times before I can finally watch TV. I have to do the same thing if I want to watch a blu-ray movie.
When I previously had an all HDMI connection (as I do now after the Geek Squad tech changed the setup), I had this problem. I contacted my Cable company and a tech came out and informed me that beacuse of software updates on the boxes, I had to run the HDMI cable from the box direclty to the TV and then had to use red/white RCA cables for the audio. According to the cable tech, this is a standard setup among all cable companies.
I don't know what the problem is with the HDMI signal not getting to the receiver or TV from the blu-ray player, but I used to not have this issue until after the Geek Squad tech changed everything,
I'd like to identify if it's the TV or the receiver that is having problems with the HDMI switching.

    The cable tech is wrong.
What kind of reciever is it? There are several recievers that have had issues with their HDMI boards that would cause this. Geek squad may just be a coincidence.

  • Resolution problems with HDMI

    OK.
Equipment: Syncmaster 305t delivered up to 2560 resolution with the same cable when connected to Windows machine (will be relevant).
New Mac Mini with HDMI out and HDMI to DVI converter (the one apple bundles).  It LOOKS like a DVI-dual (I think the pin arrangement is different according to google images).
I can't get anything more than 1280 offered to me by System Preferences.
Called apple and they suggest that I buy the Thunderbold to DVI-dual adapter.  Willing to do so but skeptical.
    Questions:
    1) Does anyone know if the bundled HDMI to DVI in Mac Mini 2011 is a DUAL LINK DVI?
    2) If it is single link, shouldnt I still be getting something better than 1280?
    3) Anyone else out there using the HDMI to DVI adapter bundled with Mac Mini?  Whatcha getting for resolution?
    Thanks,!

Whoops sorry Zyriab - of course you are right -
I get 1280x800 offered (this is highest resolution) - Dual DVI is supposed to get me 2560x1600 (the most the monitor is capable of).
It seems I should get 1920 x 1080 even if the HDMI adapter is Single Link DVI, right?
Remember, the connectors and cable supported 2560x1600 from my PC on windows - so it isn't the monitor or the cable.
    Thanks much

  • Problem with HDMI to mini display port

I have been using the HDMI adapter to mini-display port successfully with my TV for months.  I have a late 2011 Macbook Pro.  My brother borrowed the cable to use with my mom's 2013 Macbook Pro retina display and now the adapter won't work.  He could not get it to work with her Macbook and had not realised that it had HDMI input so used that instead.  Now he returned the adpater to me and it does not work!  I am running software version OS X 10.9.2.  I read about a lot of problems similar but they seem to relate to 10.8.2 software.  Can anyone help or advise me why my adapter has given

I have two adapters and both have stopped working after using them with the later (2013) Mac. I think it may have damaged them in some way!

  • Problem with HDMI - external display resolution (MacBook andSamsung HDTV)

I just bought a new MacBook, and I have used my Samsung HDTV (http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-LN-S2338W-widescreen-720p-HDTV/dp/B000G6300U) with my old MacBook for over a year. First I tried to connect the two using the Mini Display Port to VGA adapter, which wasn't recognized by the Samsung. Now i tried using the Mini Display Port-->DVI-->HDMI route. The problem I have is that, while all the resolutions show up as able to be used in the display preferences (all the way up to 1920 x 1080), when I click on any resolution for the Samsung that is over 1280x960, all windows and dialogue boxes displayed on the samsung screen are jumpy, shaky and hazy. Is there anything I can do to allow me to use my preferred resolution of 1600x900?

I'm no expert on this, but seeing as your TV has an actual resolution of 1280x720 (according to the link), I can't see how you'd get good results from anything higher than that.

  • Problems with HDMI Sound (Special case)

My problem is that when I connect my Macbook Pro to the TV through HDMI the sound will only come out through the actual TV and not to the audio system that goes with it like I would like.
When I connect  my boyfriends Windows laptop (in the same exact way) the problem is solved, the audio comes out through the sound sistem bar and not the crappy TV integrated speakers.
I hope I made my point clear. I can make the sound come out from the macbook but it goes to the tv and not the sound system attached bar. When my macbook is connected the audio bar switches of automatically. The tv is a Sony Bravia and the Bar is also a Sony (attached to the tv through HDMI).
Thanks and I hope you can help me!

It's likely that the laptop's attempting to output audio through the HDMI as well. Have you tried this? Right-click on the speaker icon in the notification area near the clock (in Desktop mode) and select "Playback devices." What's listed there, and what has the green check mark? Try selecting your speakers and clicking "Set Default."

  • IPC1100 Problems with HDMI-DVI Connection

I installed Quantum TV today and everything worked fine except for my older TV in the basement.  I use an HDMI to DVI cable to the TV.  The IPC1100 will only allow the 480p setting even though the TV is 720p.  The previous CISCO box allowed me to set the resolution to 720p using the same set-up.  Anyone else having this problem?  Any ideas?  Thanks.

the problem is that your b&o's dvi port don't support hdcp which is the digital copy protection widely used today
maybe b&o have some update you can apply to make it support hdcp otherwise you will never
be able to use your atv for drm material like netflix, itunes movies and the likes only free material

  • Problems with HDMI signal

I used to connect my macbook pro 13" 10.7.3 to my LCD TV by minidisplay port to HDMI, it worked since december 2011 until yesterday. Now it does not work, my TV does not recognize the signal. How can I solve it?

If I were a betting man it probably is one of the cable components.  You can try it on another TV and determine from the results if it is the cable or your TV.  This of course assumes you have not made any changes in the setup when this situation occurred.
    Ciao.

  • Problems with HDMI connection to tv

my macbook has a porblem when i connect to tv . the sound still somes from mac but not from tv

Called it in.  Didn't sound like there was a solution.  866-509-7452.
Thought we found one, but I didn't listen good enough.  Heard it right after I hung up and switched songs.  Not a bitrate thing, not a speaker thing.
Eliza was excellent and top notch, but it sounded like I should just give up.
See other threads about this from 2008, such as "audio distortion" and others.  Those threads never ended with solutions.  I feel doomed.

  • Problem with Displayport and HDMI on 15pro Late2013

I just got a new 15pro few days ago(the one with 750M video card)
When I trying to connect it to my external monitor(DELL U2913WM 2560 x 1080) by miniDisplayport(to miniDP port), everything shown on my external monitor looks like I'm using a VGA cable instead. All images and texts are not clear.
I have another windows PC, whcih is using HDMI-HDMI with this monitor, everything are very clear. ==> No problem with the HDMI cable and monitor.
Then I tried to connect my MBP with HDMI-HDMI cable, both screen went dark for every 3 second peroid(and it is still not clear when the screen is on), again and again
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

Thanks, I finally find the same question here, posted a year ago.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4249436?start=30&tstart=0
But there is still no solutions today.
Thanks God! I found a way to solve that.
MonitorMenu-DisplaySetting--Sharpness----Set it to 0. This finally solved my problem.

  • [SOLVED]Problem with sound in HDMI

    Hello good society of Arch
Now I have problems with sound from HDMI. I use Arch as an tvPc, wasting movies and tv shows on it. I use ALSA and it works well, except of a few files that I have, then there is picture but sound is either twisted or not played at all. It does not matter whether I use vlc or mplayer, I'm experiencing the same problem.
I have not found anything about this with google, other problems have been either hdmi sound working or not, not like it is with me, sometimes it works and sometimes it don't.
I know that the files are ok, I can play them in anther pc I have (also using Arch on that pc).
Does anybody know what the problem might be? What do I have to look at to find out what the problem is? This have been like this for some time now, but I haven't looked into it before, because I don't use TV that muts, but the wife does and when she stats blaming Arch, I have too do something about it.
I have never encountered problem with Arch that i cant solve by using this forum and google
    Thanks
