C5-00 can't update firmware

My C5 is at 031.022. SW update says update available (5111 KB), selecting it and 'start update' I get a brief 'processing' for approx 10 seconds then it stops.
I've tried *#0000# and options, check for updates but get server not responding.
I've also tried latest OVI suite. It tells me I have 031.022 and that I have the latest.
So how do I get an update?

You may also check at
http://www.nokia.co.in/support/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-update
whether an update is available.. Availability depends on Product code / Region..also if the phone is Network locked, its possible only after the Operator's approval.. If update is available but you are not able to get the try different ways.. Thru' Nokia Software Updater (link in one of the posts above..), thru' OVI Suite
http://www.nokia.co.in/support/download-software/nokia-ovi-suite
..or directly thru' your phone, by going to Software update menu..
If all these fail and you still WANT to update, you may try the Nokia Care...
Warning : Before starting the Update process, a back-up of your data is always recommended..

Can't update firmware on Officejet Pro 8610, Hp update site shows available firmware update needed, disabled firewall, shut off wireless, run program, window for update appears, but checkbox greyed out. I've talked to HP Tech, He was positive newer firmware was available, I've tried starting in safe mode w/networking, disabled, MS Security essentials turned off, etc. Have Dell Dimension, excellent running, Windows 7 Home Premium, Xfinity cable network modem (very fast), I'm getting frustrated.
Does anybody have a suggestion? Thanks, Jim

  • Zen Micro firmware CIRCLE -Can't update firmware w/out driver, can't update driver w/out firmwa

    Hi,
I know lots of peopl are having the same problem. I have a Zen Micro 5Gb. I have previously updated the firmware to the plays for sure (about 2 years ago) and it's been fine.
The device had had the hard dri've replaced after it failed, and I need to reload the firmware. I have all the files, I've read all the FAQ and support I used last time (I keep everything) and my notes from 2 years ago say it was easy.
However. Not now. I figure WMP caused a lot of problems. Right - got that out the way. Fresh installs of XP SP2 is the way to go.
I have also followed the instructions here:
    http://http://forums.creative.com/showthread.php?t=3478
But, I keep going round in circles. Can't update firmware without driver, can't update driver without firmware.
Any driver install I try asks me to connect the device to complete the installation, but, it won't recognise the device because there is no firmware. I try to upload the firmware, and it says there is no device (because there is no driver).
I have tried multiple machines, with SP2 installed and only WMP9 (never had WMP0).
I have tried USB , 2, hubs, front ports back ports, again on multiple machines.
I've even used an XP install on VMware on a MAC (This was the closest to success).
On the Mac, The player was recognised even in its flash problem state and I could actually start the firmware update. However, it failed to complete successfully.
Has anyone actually managed to do a firmware update on n old Zen using a 2008 PC? Please help!

If your player had PlaysForSure firmware, you'll need to download a PlaysForSure firmware version. That should resolve your issues since PlaysForSure does not use a Creative driver but rather a nati've Windows driver. But you will need to have WMP0 installed, WMP9 does not support PlaysForSure.

  • Zen MicroPhoto or Micro stuck in Recovery Mode? Can't update firmware? Try this

I got these instructions from here:
    http://blog.opsan.com/archi've/2005/09/3/472.aspx
This is the only thing that worked for me to get my broken Zen MicroPhoto up and running again. It was stuck in Recovery Mode and my XP SP2/WMP laptop wouldn't recognize when trying to load firmware or in Creative Media Explorer or WMP.
To Fix any problems with broken firmware form attempted "playsforsure"
firmware updates etc where your pc finds it as a 20mb dri've and it sits
in recovery mode and does bugger all:
    1. Uninstall all creative software & drivers
    2. Uninstall Media Player and Media Player runtime (will require a
reboot for each thing). This is done by going to add/remove programs and
uninstalling (this will put your pc back to wmp0).
    3. Re-install the Zen Driver from the creative website and reboot (I just reloaded Media Explorer using my ZMP install CD).
    4, Plug Zen in.
5, Make sure you have the firmware update ready, run it but don't click
the language bit yet), leave the mouse hovering over your language
selection. (for ZMP, just start firmware exe file, there is no language selection. You can get the firmware update from Creative's site, go to SUPPORT and then DOWNLOADS).
    6. On the Zen- select "reload OS" (on ZMP I believe it is Erase or Reload Firmware, something like that, don't have it in front of me).
    7. As soon as it flashes up "reload new firmware now via USB" click the
    language button
    8. Now the pc should find it and allow you to re-load the
firmware. (it may take a few attempts)
    9. Once complete, click close and restart the pc. Everything should now
    be fine.
    0. Once all is working, you can re-install WMP and it will work fine.
    I hope this helps somebody.

  • Can't update firmware for Ipod Touch on my PC

I have a 1st gen Ipod touch & windows xp. I have the latest itunes.
It will not let me update the firmare, but I can sync fine.
To update the firmware, I give it to my husband and he can do it from his computer. Then I can sync with no problems. It's just the updating firmware that causes the ipod to crash (1602 error, but occassionally other numbers).
We thought it might have been that I didn't have USB 2 ports, so I bought a USB 2, 4 port card, and my husband helped me install it. Unfortunately this did not solve the problem and it still wont let me update. I thought perhaps because the usb 2 card came with driver disks, it might need a driver. But I checked the driver disk and it contained drivers for strange things I didn't have. Then I checked the internet and it said that with xp the drivers should be automatic with windows update, and mine is all updated, I checked.
I've checked my devices manager list, and the list only contains one "enhanced" usb port, even though the card I have has 4 ports, but maybe I am not understanding how the devices list works.
Just to clarify, have had the same problem with 2 ipod touches. My orignal one got a cracked screen (one crack so covered by warranty) and I received the replacement ipod touch yesterday, and I still could not update the firmware on my PC. My husband had to do it on his PC (vista).
Thanks in advance for any suggestions. I really would like to be able to update the firmware on my own PC, it's geting extremely annoying.

Because I cannot sync my music to my iPhone without updating on my PC which has all my iTunes. Where should I have posted my question to get the help I need?

  • Can't update firmware from 7.4.1 to 7.4.2

I have an AirPort Express with 802.11n, working fine. Every once in a while, AirPort Utility pops up and tells me that it found that AirPort Express and "This AirPort Express should be updated to a newer firmware version. Current Version: 7.4.1 Available Version: 7.4.2"
So, I click on Update Firmware... and it seems to do it - meaning that it takes a few minutes, reports success, and restarts the Airport Express.
BUT - when it comes back up, it is still showing that it is running 7.4.1.
What can I do to get 7.4.2 on this AirPort Express? What's wrong?
    Thanks!

I write in this thread because I think my situation is related, even if a bit different.
I had many problems with the update of my Airport Express. It started noticing I had to update the firmware to the 7.4.2 and but I've never been able doing it. As it worked fine even with the permament notification I didn't thought it was a great problem.
Then I update my OS from the 10.4.10 to the 10.6 all in one and started having more problems with my Airport Express which was constantly asking to update to the 7.4.2 but it wasn't possible in any way.
I checked this page in the Apple support
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3486
and I updated the Utility Airport app to the 5.5.1 but it didn't help.
The worst level of problem is that I tried to link another two people (one with a mac 10.5 and one with a pc) to the wireless net and there was not access possibility.
After a reset of the airport the utility app was almost totally blocked and closed the access even from my mac notifing that my WAP password was incorrect.
At this time there are no ways to change this situation.
I'm trying to understand what's the real problem and - if someone has suggestions - how to solve it.

  • Nokia XM5130 can't update firmware

I can't update my frimware v6.94 to the latest version that I've seen in the web site, i think that update is v7.91. For more information, I did got the update the version v6.94 Over-The-Air. And now I can't update to the latest v7.91. I lived here in the Philippines.

Have you just tried OTA, or have also you tried NSU (nokia software updater) or Ovi suite?
If you have not, I would give NSU a shot!

  • Can't update firmware on my early 2011 MBP

I haven't been able to update firmware on my laptop. It will download and attempt, but when the computer restarts, it restarts over and over and over again on its own until I hard power down. Then when it restarts, it starts up like normal but doesn't install the firmware. I had installed Kingston memory at one point and when I presented this issue to the Genius bar, they kept it a few days and tested it with "known working ram" and they were able to update the last firmware revision. So I ditched the Kingston and put in Centon, which claims full compatibility. Now, firmware 2.7 is giving me the same issue. Is it really the RAM? Anyone else who used 3rd party memory having this same problem?
    Help!!

Hello EveryBody To update your Nokia 2700, DON'T USE "nokia software update" directly. You'll have to install NOKIA OVI SUITE, then sign in with your account ou register. Afterwards update your 2700 via the update option of OVI SUITE. I just tested it and it works

  • Can't update firmware 1.6 on my mid 2011 Macbook Air

After I install this firmware, Macbook Air shows spinning icon forever and never reboot.  Only way to recover from there is to power off and reboot by aborting update.  Is there any clue on this?
    MacBookAir4,2
    Intel Core i7
    1.8 GHz
    DRAM 4 GB
    Boot ROM version      MBA41.0077.B0F
    SMC Version     1.73f63
    OS X 10.8 (12A269)
    Darwin 12.0.0

Is this going to be an issue
As per Apple, no,  it will work.   however you should get the correct 45W charger.

  • Can i update firmware on g5 tower if it won't fully boot, pwr light flashin

My powermac won't boot is it possible to try and update the firmware remotely? i.e via target drive, and if so how would i check which update to use i.e the 10.3.9 or 10.4.3 i think i was on 10.4 but not sure.
I have been through all the remove cables battery\ pmu reset and so forth.
    all help is greatfully recieved.

You can install the package onto the G5's hard disk through FireWire Target Disk mode, but running the firmware update cannot be done remotely. To check what version of Mac OS X is installed, open the file /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist on the G5's hard disk in a text editor.

  • WRT54G2 V1 can't update firmware plz help

I have searched and searched for anyone else that has had this problem and haven't seen a single post in hours of looking across multiple sites so I finally broke down and decided to post it.  I am trying to update my router from the 1.0 firmware and when I go into the 192.168.1.1 > administration >upgrade firmware (192.168.1.1/Ugrade.htm) the screen doesn't appear and there is a little ! in the corner saying there is an error on the page (in firefox).  I have tried this with multiple computers and they all do the same thing.  I have tried unplugging it for 30 seconds and holding reset for 30 seconds.  I have tried IE firefox and chrome.  If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

If you are unable to upgrade the firmware on your Router, Then you can try the steps mentioned by sabertooth and that should fix your problem.
On your computer try to clear the Browser Settings of your IE and Firefox and then try to upgrade the firmware of your Router.

  • WRVS4400N - Can't Update Firmware

We need to update the firmware for a small business router WRVS4400N.  Unfortunately, I can't even burn the ISO file to CD after downloading it as instructed. I get the following error message:  "The selected disk image file Isn't valid."  I'm using a Windows 7 Ultimate computer.
I downloaded the proper firmware update for my version V2.0.1.3 router several times, but each time I get the same message.
The main reason we purchased this router for our business for for the extra layer of protection with ProtectLink. It has been over two years now, and we still have not got our ProtectLink service installed because we are unable to install the service until the firmware is updated.
After doing some research online, we found-out that the ISO file needs to be padded to 2 Kb in order to be valid for burning.  The ISO firmware file you provide for this update is not according to my calculations.  We have no way of converting the file myself and don't know what to do about this situation.
We are extremely taken-back at the fact that I must submit my issue here on a forum rather than address the issue directly to Cisco Support. We are very disappointed with Cisco support as they appear to want to charge additional money just to get an initial shipped-problem remedied. You would think that the company that essential built the internet infrastructure would be more considerate to their customers.  We will never purchase another Cisco product given this level of terrible support.
I'm hoping to get some information here so as to get this router working as intended two years ago.

Hi Joseph, first to clear things up, small business support center does not charge incident fees unless you are out of phone support warranty. But, to answer your question, this sounds like a Windows related issue. When you're downloading a file, it sounds like your operating system is trying to save it to a software burning application.
To use a firmware, it is not related to an ISO image or burning to anywhere. The actual process is simply downloading the file then opening the GUI of the router, browsing the file location and then uploading to the router. There is not any additional steps. The file itself is a .img file so there is not any additional steps (like unzipping or something).
I'd recommend you look in to how your operating is saving files and to where.
    -Tom
