C5-05 Unable to update software

I tried to update the software of Nokia C5-05. It goes upto 3rd step Installing and shows 15 minutes remaining. Then after some time it shows "connection to the phone was lost".  And asked to disconnect and reconnect. I tried this about 50 times in two days but same situation every time. Please suggest a method.

Remove the SIM and Memory Card. then check if the problem continuous ..If it works fine then insert only the SIM and check the result..and after that check only with the Memory Card. Now, you should know what is creating problem. If its the SIM, try any other SIM (..you may borrow from friends / family members). If the other one do not show the same problem, get your SIM replaced thru' your Operator. If you find that MC is problematic, copy the data on PC and then Format the MC and try again.
On the other hand, if you find the same problem without the SIM / MC..or the problem remains otherwise..then try a Soft Reset by dialing *#7370# followed by 12345 ( default code unless changed by you) when prompted. Be warned that this reset will erase all data from the Phone memory..so back-up data before performing it.
If problem remains even after this, you need to take the phone to Nokia Care. Your local NCC can be found thru' THIS link...

    I am unable to update software, transfer purchases, sync, or backup any of my 3 devices. I have done everything they've suggested, even when they've suggested I do something over again, and I'm becoming frustrated. I would greatly appreciate any advice you can offer.     Sorry for hijacking your thread as put by Dahveed. However I have resolved my issue so I thought I'll share it with the rest of you.
    I checked for the error 3194 in youtube and I found some good videos that tell you how to resolve the problem. The issue I was facing was the actually (I know because I have resolved it now) the communication between my computer and apple server which can be fixed as following (if you are using windows):
    There is file in following directory:
    C:\Windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
    The file normally has no extension and it is in file format. You need to open it and make sure that every line that has apple server id starts with "#". In my case one of the line started directly with the ip address and then gs.apple.com.
    Perform your restore/update after that and hopefully it should be resolved (mine did).

    All were upgraded (well, except iPad 1) to iOS 6.1.2

    ok, it wasn't formed as a question, but I was asking:
    Is AppleStore/iTunes store operating normally
    If so, why are ALL of my devices unable to update software.. (assume this needs more information)
    This started 3 days ago now, and I thought "if AppleStore is down, this will be newsworthy" but I didn't see anything on the news.. so I posted here.
    So are there any diagnostics one could run to check whether this is a fault in my network - due to some particular reason.. specifically with the AppleStore?
    One user (my daughter) was able to download and watch episodes on her AppleTV.. my son tried using GPRS to update his device but experienced the same "block".. Several devices are trying to update software in the house.
    I've reset the network (router to ISP) but all my other activities are running normally, including on these devices.
    Google Earth is refreshing maps, (in fact, Apple Maps is refreshing maps).. so seemingly everything is normal.. until I ask to update a program or download one.

  • Brand new BB playbook -Unable to update software

    Need help!
    I just got my PB today.  I have followed all the setup steps until software update.  I kept getting "Unable to download software update."  I have perfectly fine WIFI connection at home.  I even tried put it next to the router.
    The current OS version is 1.0.0.1439, and trying to download version 1.0.3.1868
    I have retried many times and couldn't do anything other than "Restart", "Retry" and "Turn Off"
    This Software Update step should have a skip button instead of trying to update as unless the update is complete you just cant use the device...its quite frustrating.

    Can you change your router settings from secure mode to OPEN. This will only be a temporary change. Go into your computer settings for Wireless Network, click on Properties and somewhere there you may have a Security Setting such as WPA which can be changed to OPEN. Once set to open, try the download. Try it and report back.

    iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    Symptoms
    Your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch may occasionally stop responding to buttons, switches, or touchscreen input and may exhibit one or more of these symptoms:
    Does not return to the Home screen after you press the Home button
    Does not wake from sleep after you press the Sleep/Wake button
    Does not turn on (or power on) when you press any button
    Does not start up past Apple logo
    Appears frozen or unresponsive
    Is unable to "Slide to Unlock" or "Slide to Power Off"
    Resolution
    If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
    If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected,  restart your device.
    If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on),  reset your device.
    If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
    If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
    Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.

  • 6220c - Unable to update software

    Hi.
    Above phone on 3 UK network. I wish to update the software version from 3.06 to current 3.23 but am unable to do so.
    When I go to check for updates I get 2 options.
    1st option is to update via 3 software update, this is unsuccessful as I get an error message stating the wrong username and password. I do not know the username and password.
    2nd option is to update via Nokia software update. However this tells me there is no update available!
    Has anyone any experience of this?

  • Unable to update software 4.3.5 server timed out?

    When I attempt to update my iphone with new software update 4.3.5 on itunes, system will attempt to download and after at least an hour it states "There was a problem downloading the software for the  iphone. Network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and network connection is active or try again later".  There is no problem with the connection - my internet is clearly connected throughout the process; I have tried again at least 5 or 6 times; I even uninstalled itunes and reinstalled - so no problem with itunes and I know its the latest version. Never had any trouble updating before - any suggestions??

    I am using Nokia 5233(same as 5230) mobile phone from past several months. I reside in India. My phone's current Software version is 40.1.003  From phone I checked for new software update & got to know that latest version is 50.1.001  This update is not available as OTA(Over the air) update directly from the phone. So, I decided to update it via PC.
    But, both the Nokia Software Updater & Nokia OVI Suite application shows error when I check for new update. I am attaching the screenshots of the errors with my post. Please, help me out on this issue soon.

    Have this softwares worked as they are supposed to before? It might be a temporary issue going on atm. It seems like there are plenty having issues with update services atm.

    Dear Nokia,
    I checked today that there is a software update available for my Asha 200. I downloaded the software through the option given in the phone. The software was downloaded successfully but when i tried to install the software, phone prompted a diaogue box '2.7 MB Memory needed. Delete some items?'. I tried to delete some items but couldn't because all the filed were system files hence protected. Please let meknow how to update the software using phone only? I cant not update this software using PC due to non-availability of PC with me.

    I own a generation 3 iTouch and every time I connect to my iTunes it tell me that it will check next time for updates.  My iTouch in currently running:
    software version 4.2.1 and it is extremely slow.  I don't know what I can do so it can update the software to 4.3.  I have wiped out the itouch already and still I am not able to update the software version.
    Can someone please help!!

    I just noticed that it is only at 2G.  Is there anything I can do to upgrade since the software version that I do have make everything on the iPod work extremely slow?

    I keep trying to update the new software for my MacAir - but each time I attept to it has this error message:
    The spurce media you are installing from is damaged. Try installing from a different copy or source media or contact manufacturer.
    My Iphone will not connect to it, and i have tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling but no luck.
    Any ideas??

    firewall and antivirus is not blocking access to gs.apple.com on port 443 and i did not  used my computer at some time in the past to hack or jailbreak some iOS device . I have also tried editing  the hosts file and delete any lines that contain gs.apple.com......
    Trying everything but getting no where.......frustrated

I have gone through all the Apple Support Forums and have followed all the suggestions. I have completely removed the Norton Anti-Virus, no firewalls are on, no ports are blocked, ITunes is most current version, checked hosts registry.
    Any one else run into this issue? Any thoughts on a fix?

    I have researched this issue for you on Apple's Support website and this is the resolution I found for you to update to 4.2.9 with the error code you are getting.  
    First try to turn off your iPhone, with the sync cable not plugged in.
    Then hold down the home button (iPhone still off) and plug in the sync cable. (Keep holding the home button until iTunes pops up).
    You have now entered force recovery mode.
    Now try to update the iPhone, using iTunes, as instructed.
