C5 - Two probably bugs (sms & white screen)

I have a C5-00 it works very well and I really appreciate it. I have update the firmware to 065.001.
But I found two probably bugs:
1) when I open a received sms, then go to the previous one moving with the "joypad" (i.e. without returning to the list of received sms) and then return to the first one sms the last two lines of the sms are disappeared! I have to exit to the list of sms' then re-open the sms to see the sms entirely, i.e with all the lines.
2) The battery recharger is attached to the phone. Then the alarm clock of the phone rings and I shut down the ring. I try to switch on the phone: the monitor became completely white (neither the symbol of the charged battery appear). I have to disconnect the battery to switch on again the phone.
Do somebody experienced the same issues?
I hope Nokia can explain why they happen and, if the case, correct this issues/bugs.
Thanks,
alemanowar

Hi, Exactly the same bug here. A possible workaround is to switch between two SMS or scroll down to see the whole text. @vijayt It IS a bug, because it worked well with 032.xxx. I dont wont to scroll down to see the text - the display is big enough to show the whole message. I will collect here the other posts for the same topic: * /t5/Nseries-and-S60-Smartphones/6700-slide-truncated-sms-after-upgrade/m-p/937351/highlight/true#M25... * /t5/Cseries/Nokia-C5-Texts-are-half/m-p/934725/highlight/true#M13715 So I hope this will be fixed in 062.005, which is still not available for my phone :-( Is there a "real" bugtracking system one (not developer) can use? Regards, Christoph

  • Display bug: boxing, white screen, duplications. How can I fix?

Having a problem with the screen stability. The bug seems to start when a few minutes or so into using a browser. I end up with duplciations of the screen and browser window sticking to my cursor, boxing and blinking of sections of my screen.
This occurs with both firefox and chrome. Force quitting any open browsers does stop it, as does successfully selecting the browser window and moving it all around a bit. The bug does affect the finder as well, its not simply a case of minimising the troubled browser as it happens all over the screen. Has happened 3 times while trying to writing this.

that looks like it could be a hardware issue, but if you still have the disks that shipped with your computer, then try reinstalling the OS (have a back up first). if it keeps happening then your best bet would be to contact Apple or find the nearest AASP and see what they can do to you

  • White screen of death - iMac OSX Lion

I upgraded my 2007 iMac to Lion and after a few days of perfect running the think locked up.  When I forced the power off and back on it seemed to be booting fine (chimes, apple logo, disk spinning up and I could hear the drive head seeking) but then it froze up in the "White Screen of death" (WSOD).  It was complete lockd up again, and nothing would bring it back.  I had to reboot again.  And again.  Everytime it seems to be ok, but then locks up after it the screen goes white. . I did command option , p r keys with three chimes. I have unplugged it and let it sit.  I disconnected all periferals.  I reset the SMC.  I booted into Single User mode and used unix commands to check the HD.  No errors found.  I disconnected my wireless Time Capsule.
Note that it appears to be booting fine at first with the useaul Apple Logo.  And when I boot into the Single User mode all the text indicates no faults.  The display and HD appear fine.
I inserted my original OSX Leopard disk and and tried to boot from it, using the "C" boot process and the Option boot method to manuualy select the DVD.  No good.  It just went into the WSOD again.
I have no idea what to try next!

    RATS!
After ersing (and zeroing) out the HD nothing changed.  I still could not completely boot up the install disk.  I tried the original Leopard disk, and the Apple Lion USB thumbdrive.  Both started the boot process, and gave me the grey Apple logo.  But then after a minute or two jumped into the White Screen of Death.
I then replace both RAM chips.  No change.
Now I have a brick.  A very large and heavy brick.
But the computer will woerk as Target Disk Mode, and it actually goes through a normal boot cycle.  That is, I can go into the Single Ud=ser mode and all UNIX command work fine.
Does anyone have any additional ideas of what can cause this?
    Peter

  • White Screen of Death on 5800 xm

Clue anybody to probable  cuase of white screen of death on a 5800 xm  . Where phone just  sticks on the white screen  or sometimes the actual boot screen . Its not a  reboot that happens phone just freezes battery out solves the problem . Have an idea that it could be tied to the Auto Keyguard switch  but that may be a red herring .
     jje

this happend with my old N97 and it took a hard reset to solve it, the guy in the vodafone shop said its caused by an unresolved system argument (error) which could be caused by a dodgy download,
not sure about the 5800 but its s60 v5 as well

  • IPad Air gets suddenly white screen and black apple

When I am working, my iPad Air gets suddenly (one or two times per week) white screen and black apple screen for a few seconds before I get back the control, anyone has the same problem?

It could be an OS issue but I would not bet on it. I just had a similar case myself (but white apple on black screen) on two unconnected devices almost simultaneously - both on an iPad and on an iPod touch. It is possible that there is something different going on here, perhaps at Apple's servers.
It could of course also just be a coincidence.

  • I tried to install yosemite yesterday and my computer goes through the whole installation process and then to a blank white screen.  I've rebooted, I've reinstalled several times and get the same result.  Two days wasted!

I tried to install yosemite yesterday and my computer goes through the whole installation process and then to a blank white screen.  I've rebooted, I've reinstalled several times and get the same result.  Two days wasted and I can't use my computer!!

I don't know if you've already resolved your problem, but I had the same thing, it took me 6 hours to fix it. I had the exact same as you, installed the update and then it went to a white screen. After trying start up holding down cmmd r or holding down the alt key to try to install it again, nothing worked, same result every time. Then an angel came to me here somewhere but I can't find it now to thank him. Start in safe mode, press shift once you hear the start up chime and hold it down until you hear it again. Installation completion box came up and it was working. turn off computer and start up again normally and all is well. Except my final cut pro x doesn't work with it, have to update that now too. same as when I updated to mavericks.
    Hope this helps.

  • Exporting slideshows results in file with only the first picture then a blank white screen with music. Apple bug or am I missing the obvious?

When I export slideshows the result is a file with only the first picture then a blank white screen with music. Apple bug or am I missing the obvious?

Usually when the phone shows just the white Apple logo, it indicates an issue with the system software that prevents the phone from finishing it's boot sequence. When this happens, you will need to restore the phone, which removes all data and replaces the system software with a fresh set.
Since the phone is not seen in iTunes when it's in this state, you will have to put it into DFU mode for iTunes to see it.
To put the phone in DFU mode:
    - make sure the phone is connected to a computer with the current version of iTunes on it.
    - hold the sleep/wake button and the home button simultaneously for 8 seconds.
    - let go of the sleep/wake button and continue pressing the home button. The iTunes screen will show a short progress bar then show a dialog box stating that an iPod was detected that is in recovery mode.
    -click OK
-click the Restore button in the middle of the iTunes page
After the restore the phone should be back up and running and you can sync your data back.

  • Safari-Two Finger Swipe = White Screen

I was under the impression that the latest updateto Safari was supposed to fix this issue. But whenever I browse this forum and two finger swipe to go back in safari I get a white screen that lasts anywhere between 5-8 seconds while the page reloads. Any fix for this?

Go to System Prefernces and Trackpad or Mouse, depending on which you are using, and see that the gestures you want to use are all checked.

  • I have a white screen on my ipod.  i have tried pushing the two buttons at same time but it doesn't work. i tried restoring on itunes but can't because of the password on ipod

My ipod 4th gen. has a white screen.  i have tried pushing the two buttons but it didn't work.    I have tried to restore on i tunes but because there is a pass code on the ipot, it won't let me.  Any ideas?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

  • HT4623 Tried updating to IOS 7.  Now my phone is stuck on a white screen with two dots and two dashes.

Tried updating my iPhone 4S with IOS 7.  It is now frozen on a white screen with two black dots and two black dashes.  It will flip to another screen once in a while that says "Slide to setup."  But when I do, it goes back to the screen with the dots and dashes.

What happened with your phone? I'm experiencing the same problems at the moment.

  • TS3474 my i pod is still on a white screen after restoring with the two buttons and also restoring on i tunes and it still has a white screen

my i pod is still on a white screen after restoring with the two buttons and also restoring on i tunes and it still has a white screen

I've been struggling with mine all morning with the same issue.
Mine would not wake up from sleep (will just white screen).
It will boot using a hard reset (i.e. the power button and volume down button being held down for 8 or so secs). I restored and synced it multiple times but it still has a problem waking up and just just goes to white screen.
I saw a post suggesting a loose connection which I had my doubts about (as it will wake with hard reset) - bit BINGO! If I wake mine (with index finger) whilst applying pressure to the top of the screen area (with my thumbs) it will wake up. When I become frustrated enough I'll take it apart and see if something has become loose.
    Hope this helps.

  • Expanding video to full screen mode gives full white screen. Is this a bug? It works fine in IE.

    Every time Firefox opened

Same thing happens to me. As far as I can tell, it just started a few days ago. I have made no changes of which I am aware. Today, I disabled Java Development toolkit add-ons. (One was already disabled, but one was still active.) I have only one version of shockwave flash running as a Firefox add-on. Having more than one version running is a known issue with Firefox. Reluctantly, I have just made IE my default browser, after several years as a devout Firefox fan. Pretty frustrating.

  • Email not opening This is a sudden thing, Email had been working fine for two months then today would not stay open now it will not open at all. after trying to open mail I receive a white screen for a nano second and the app closes

Email not opening on my iPad2 This is a sudden thing, email had been working fine since purchasing the device then today would not stay open,  now it will not open at all. After trying to open mail I receive a white screen for a nano second and the app closes.

Have you tried closing the Mail app completely ? From the home screen (i.e. not with Mail 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Flash player white screen bug

Hi i recently update my n5233 firmware v.51 but i am unable to see video by flash player it comes white screen please help me

    Hi Ramsoni,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums!
Reseting your device may help in this case. Just follow the instructions below.
Before reseting, remember to make a backup of your phone with Nokia Suite.
Dial *#7780# to soft reset your device, this will return the phone to factory settings without removing any personal data. If this does not solve the issue, hard reset your phone.
Dial *#7370# to hard reset your device.  Hard reset will remove all settings and personal data off the phone, so remember to backup your data first.
When prompted for the security code, default code in both cases is 12345.
